Chapter ten: All about the family Old and New
The Parents are inside waiting when they hear the doorbell followed quickly by a knock at the door.
"I'll get the door to reveal miss Callaway and four young children.
"Well hello please come in." He said stepping aside and allowing the children and Miss Callaway to enter the home.
"You have a lovely home." said the little girl.
"Why thank you, my name is Caroline and you are?" she said, then questioned the little girl.
"Oh I'm sorry my name is Kira," she said
" She will be coming to live with us, sweetie your officially a Park now," Lee-may said.
"Cool just the three of us?" Kira questioned.
"No, Kira you also have an older brother, his name is Adam," Richard explained.
The explanation causes all of the kids to start asking questions rapidly.
"Kids why don't we separate so each family can talk to the child they are adopting and they will answer any question you may have." Miss Callaway suggested.
"Well while you all take care of that we will go get some food for a cookout to properly introduce them to everybody." Nathanael Cranston said as the Scotts, Desantos, and Campbells offered to assist. The seven of them piled into the Desnatoes cargo van to drive to the grocery store downtown.
With Ethan and the Taylors
"Hello my name is Ethan," he said in greeting his new family. Hello Ethan my name is Henry and this is my wife Janice. You are now part of the Taylor family son." Henry replied to the newest member of the family.
"Are there any questions you have for us kiddo?" Janice asked
"How are the schools here?" Ethan asked stunned it took them a minute to answer, not expecting that question.
"The school here is great here lots of different clubs and it's one of the best academically in the state," Janice informed him.
"There are other things to do around town but we can show you or let your new big brother have that privilege of showing you around. " Henry said.
Ethan's eyes got as big as saucers at the mention of having an older brother.
"What's he like? " Ethan asked.
"He's into dancing, sports, and hanging with his group of friends which are other teens from the neighborhood and some of them will be brothers or sisters to the other children that came with you," Henry said in answer to Ethan's question.
With Kira and the Parks
"So you said I will have a big Brother, I've never had one of those before is he gonna like me?" Kira asked nerves evident.
"Sweetie he has been considered a big brother by Mrs. Campbell's daughter for years," Lee-may explained to her.
"So there is no reason to worry about how he would feel about being your big brother," Richard added,
"Okay, when do I get to meet him?" Kira asked.
"The group should be here sometime this evening," Richard said.
With Conner and the Dumahs
"Hello, there young man I hope you're doing ok with everything happening here. My name is Pierre and this is my wife Caroline." He said introducing the boy to his new family. H. Hi m.. my name is Con..ner." He studdered due to being nervous.
"Hi, Conner what do you like to do for fun?" Caroline asked.
Wide-eyed that a grown-up would ask him that since the accident.
"I love soccer and being outside, and dirt, and fish... he stopped not able to finish his sentence as fishing is what he did with his father.
"What's the matter kiddo?" Caroline asked.
All Conner could do was shake his head no, not wanting to show how much he was hurting.
"Alright, why don't we talk about soccer that seemed to excite you," Pierre said.
"Yeah, soccer is the best sport," Conner said with enthusiasm.
The three spent time getting to know more about each other.
"Will I be the only child?" Conner asked.
"No sweetheart you will have an older sister named Kimberly," Caroline said.
With Trent and the Olivers
Hello young man my name is Melissa and this is my husband James, do you remember us from the meetings at the family division building
"Yes, I remember you," Trent said shyly.
"Do you have anything that you enjoy doing?" James asked
"Yeah I like to draw and I enjoy poetry," he said still shy.
"You don't have to be shy your going to be part of the family, you'll have an older brother his name is Tommy," Melissa said at this Trent shouted in excitement.
"Yes sweetie, how do you feel about attending the new school," James asked.
"That sounds fun I just hope I can make some friends," Trent informed.
Turning to her husband "Why don't we get some food for him to enjoy some time with our friends, hopefully, the other children will show soon." Melissa said.
With the rangers
"Alpha any progress on tracking Zordon?" Billy asked
"I just found a trace of him with any luck we should have him soon rangers," Zondar said
"That's good news anything we can do to help?" Aisha said
"Guys we have the power to help," Jason said.
"What do you mean Jase?" Angela asked.
"When Zordon brought Tommy back as the green ranger to save our parents and our power coins." Jason reminded the team that was present and informed all of those were not around yet.
"That could work, everybody round up in front of the tube," Tommy said everybody got into position starting with Angela, Zack, Adam, Billy, Aisha, Rocky, Trini, Jason, Kimberly, and finally Tommy completing the circle with the tube, with Angela, and Tommy touching the tube fully connecting the rangers with Zordon's tube, therefore, their connection.
Pulling out their power coins. "We call on the powers of all those combined
"Tortoise" Angela shouted
"Rabbit" Zack stated
"Frog" Adam exclaimed
"Wolf," Billy said
"Bear" Aisha sharply stated
"Ape" Rocky stammered
"Cheetah" Trini urged
"Wolverine" Jason snapped
"Crane" Kimberly screamed
"Falcon" Tommy bellowed
Once each animal was called upon each became a physical manifestation of them and soared through the air and entered the tube. Within just a few moments they heard a familiar and sorely missed voice.
"Rangers! thank you for bringing me back home," Zordon said
"I'm glad we found you," Kimberly said through sobs. suddenly emotional after Zordon's return.
"Guys our parents are probably worried sick they haven't seen us in a while," Rocky said.
"He has a point guys," Angela said
"Aye yi yi rangers everything here is back to normal and the town is not under attack, you should go home and let your families know you are safe," Alpha said.
"Alright, guys we should go, Zordon you'll contact us the moment there is any trouble," Tommy said.
Signaling that he would contact them if anything were to happen. The rangers were teleported out. Landing in the park they chose to walk to the Dumah house first since it was the closest. Arriving at the house they hear voices coming from the backyard. Approaching and opening the gate they find the group of parents and four children they didn't recognize. Preston noticed them enter the backyard.
"Hey, guys where have you been?" He asked
"OH, that's a long story Papa Scott," Kimberly said
"On that, you'll have to explain later?" Preston whispered.
"Hey, you guys!" Caroline said in greeting as she returned to the backyard from her chat with the young boy following Pierre out the back door.
"Kimberly, could you join us over on the patio?" Caroline asked as she gestured toward Pierre and the boy in red.
"Yeah, mom is there something wrong?" Kimberly asked
"No nothing is wrong sweetie, just wanted to introduce you to the newest member of the family," Caroline said.
Overhearing the conversation at hand Melissa and Lee-may stood up to gather everybody's attention. Explaining that these were the children they had mentioned almost a month ago. The best thing to do would be to break off into smaller groups so the older siblings would get a chance to interact with the younger children.
"Melissa and Lee-may have a good point why don't you all get comfortable while we have our little family interaction over here then rejoin for dinner together," Pierre said leaning over to whisper in Melissa's ear Caroline believes that we should gather together since they spend so much time together anyway. It would help the boys know who will be around them more often.
One by one each of the parents came over and pulled one of them to introduce them to the newest members of their families.
The Parks
"Adam this is Kira she is going to be your sister and we thought you should take some time to get to know each other." Richard Park said after introducing the two.
" Well hello Kira, welcome to the family I promise to be there whenever you need anything.
"Just like that!" Kira said not use to having people care about her and now here was this older boy saying he would always be there for her no matter what it was.
"Yeah I've been like a brother to my good friend Aisha since we were kids, now I have a younger sister of my own," Adam explained.
"Well, that's good to know I have a protector looking out for me," Kira said sweetly.
"What do you like to do for fun?" Adam asked
"Well, I've always liked music, it is the way I deal with anything in life," Kira explained.
"Well, you should always embrace the things that bring you peace and serenity," Adam advised.
The Taylors
"Zack this is Ethan he is going to be part of this family and your younger brother," Henry said as an introduction.
"Well little man what do you enjoy doing for fun?" Zack asked
"Video games are fun, and I enjoy science fiction movies of any kind," Ethan said trying not to be shy.
"Well, I have been known to watch a sci-fi movie now and again," Zack said
"Looks like you two are getting along nicely," Janice said
"Well how about we get some food and then discuss some more about those movies," Zack suggested.
"Now this is the beginning of an awesome friendship," Ethan said.
The Olivers and Dumahs
"Tommy, Kimberly since the two of you are always together Caroline thought introducing everyone all together would be an easier thing for the boys. I happen to agree with her decision since one way or the other one of you will be at the other house." Melissa explained
"Kimberly this is Conner, Pierre and I chose to adopt him, welcoming him to become part of our family. Giving him a nice quiet home sadly something he hasn't had since the accident." Caroline explained to the three older people standing around them as she hugged the boy from behind ( Wrapping her arms around him from over his shoulders)
"As for this young, he will be joining the Oliver family his name is Trent," Melissa said as she wrapped an arm around his shoulder and pulled him close (in a side hug).
"So you'll be my younger brother," Tommy said looking at Trent.
"Yeah" Trent mumbled.
"What's wrong little buddy, you seem upset about something, the is supposed to be a happy day," Tommy said as he bent down to be at eye level with the young boy. Once he looked into the kid's eyes he noticed the sadness in the depth of his hazel orbs.
One he was used to seeing in the mirror at trends age. The one that he wore when he found out he was adopted by the Olivers. He was wanting to help Trent with how he coped with everything.
"Hey, buddy you look like you are carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders," Kimberly said as she also bent down to get to Trent's eye level.
"Hi, can I go play now?" Trent quickly said then asked his new mother.
"Sure you can go play," Melissa said
"Hey, I want to play too," Conner said, just before he could take off Caroline wrapped an arm around him stopping him.
"Not so fast your not shy and you haven't been participating in this conversation at any point," Caroline said
" As you already know my name is Conner, I enjoy playing soccer and eating," Conner said in a rush trying to say a lot all at once so he could get to go play.
"Hi little guy, is that all you like to do?" Kimberly asked
"Well, I enjoy playing at the park," Conner explained
"Well what about board games, cards, and stuff like that.?" Kimberly asked
"No not a big fan of those they take too long," he said.
As the group gathered for food and showed the kids how things are when they all got together. A sense of family and good feelings along with good food. Conner, Zack, and Rocky seemed to be taking full advantage of the large amounts of food.
"Boys you keep eating like that we are gonna need to roll you home." Aisha teased.
which caused Conner to look at her smile and say "I play soccer which helps me build up my hunger."
"Sha was mostly talking to Zack and Rocky bub," Kimberly said.
"Oh." was his only response before shoving a dinner roll covered in gravy into his mouth.
"So when do we start school?" Ethan asked.
"You will all be starting on Monday." Melissa and Janice made sure to get the papers and when we took them back on Thursday we were told Monday all of you will be starting at your new school." Lee-may said.
The other three groaned as Ethan cheered.
"What a geek," Conner said.
"Young man you better apologize and never, say that to him or anyone else again," Caroline said.
"Okay, I'm sorry Ethan, it won't happen again," Conner said feeling fully chastised.
"It's okay that isn't the first time that I've e been called something like that," Ethan said
"Believe me it is not something that you like to hear, but it doesn't make it right or even okay," Zack said as he patted his younger brother on the back.
"So Conner you like playing soccer?" Rocky asked.
"Yeah, it is my favorite thing to do," Conner replied
"Maybe if it is ok with your parents you could come by and check out the field at school Monday," Adam said
"That would be cool, what do you think mom?" Conner asked.
"That would be fine but then you would have to walk home with them," Caroline said.
Meanwhile up on the moon lower level dungeon
Bulk, Skull, and Ernie were drawing out an escape plan in the dirt.
"That's a good plan humans, I just have one question, how are you getting out of the cell?" the stranger in the next cell inquired about their plan.
"It is better than what your doing, which is nothing," Skull snarled back not liking the fact that they are still prisoners and all the stranger was doing was counterproductive.
"Why don't you come up with an idea to get the cell doors open," Ernie said
"Who are you anyway?" Bulk asked.
"I am the father of Rita Repulsa, and Rito Revolto, the master of the M51 Galaxy you can call me Master-Vile," he said as an introduction.
"Well if you are so powerful why are you still in a cell?" asked Mrs. Applebee.
"If you haven't noticed I don't have my wand or the ability to use my magic," Master Vile said
"So why don't all of us come up with a plan to get out of here," Skull suggested
"What if we use the bench in the corner and lift the cell door off its hinges?" questioned.
"Well, that may work for your cell because there are four of you, but not so well for me 'cause I'm all alone," he said.
"We can help you once we are out," Bulk said.
The four of them quickly lift the bench and move it into position just under the bottom bar of the door.
"On the count of three, One, Two, Three." Ernie counted.
The four of the pulled down on the bench and applied enough leverage to lift the door causing it to fall to the ground with a loud clatter.
Just outside of the lower dungeon in the hallway, Rito was patrolling to keep the prisoners in the cells and not planning to escape or anything of the sort. Up in the distance he heard a loud crash. Rushing into the dungeon area he noticed not one but two cell doors on the floor. Looking around he noticed nobody in sight.
"Rito!" said the stranger
As Rito turns he sees the four humans holding the bench from their cell. Before he could react, they rushed him in an attempt to ram the bench into him. They managed to push him back out the door. Taking a second he backed up to rush to the bench, noticing what was about to happen Mrs. Applebee told them to duck when she said. As Rito rushed the four of them ducked in just enough time to send him flying over falling flat on his face.
Lifting his head he soon felt a knock on the back of his head and then everything was black. Master-Vile was holding a bar he removed from the cell door.
"He will be out for a while, Thank you for all your help. I'm going to get my son out of here after I get my wand that is." Master-Vile said. Grabbing the keyring out of Rito's hand, then walked over to the standing chest and began to try all the keys one by one. After testing the last key without success he threw the keys. Picking up the discarded bar Bulk approached the standing chest and swung the bar at it busting through the door.
"I really want to get out o here," Bulk said.
"Thank you human," Master Vile said in appreciation.
"You're welcome and the name is Bulk," he said
"Well, you have helped me reunite with a family member I am in your debt Bulk,
Up on the main level of the castle
"Goldar you and Amelia need to attack Angel Grove draw out those power rangers and keep them busy, I need to have a little chat with my brother.
