Okay! Sorry for the delay.

Lots of stuff has been happening in my life as of late. My son is now nine months old, and is crawling everywhere.

This includes towards any staircases he can find, as well as any outlets and electrical cords.

The joys of parenting.

On top of that, I've been doing a lot of adulting and self care. Recently, I came out to y family as trans, and my partner is helping me to take the steps needed to be happy with myself. (I'm discussing Hormone Therapy with my doctors, and we expect to start in the next few months)

Got a tattoo, butterflies. Four years of self harm sobriety commemorated permanently. (Yayyyyy)

Also looking into college classes for vocal arts and more. Hopefully I can get my name out there and do some voice acting in a few years.

On top of all that, I'm currently working on a building project, constructing my own print and writing shop. When I get everything together, I should have a few things for dungeons and dragons, maybe some figures relating to the story, and a bit more.

Also, with luck, and some work, I'll be pushing to get my first book of poetry "Words I Found Tomorrow" Published and available for purchase. It has been a lot of work to get done.

So yeah, there's a bit of insight to my life currently.

Anyway, let's get into the next chapter!

"So… this is to help with my quirk?"

Izuku gave a shrug to her boyfriend. "It's been a bit of a side project… surprise?"

Mustard looked at the gas mask in his hands. "How does it work?"

Izuka gestured to the gas masks filters. "I made them from a synthesized version of your hair. It acts as a one way filter, so you should be able to use your quirk to make that gas storm."

Mustard looked at the mask. "You even got the World War Two era design down… have you been stalking me?"

Izuka chuckled. "No, no stalking. I just asked for your suit file. Vlad King gave it to me directly."

Mustard nodded. "Damn… I don't know what to say…"

Izuka smiled and walked forward, giving the young man a kiss on the cheek. "A thank you would be a good start… maybe using it and, perhaps, a glass of wine at dinner."

"You know you're under age." Mustard smirked.

"Doesn't mean I can't have some fun here and there." Izuka smirked back. "Now… I have some final things to do before the practice match tonight. You still have classes."

Mustard nodded. "Indeed I do. I'll see what I can do about the wine."

Izuka chuckled as her boyfriend left. Sitting down at her workbench, she began tapping a number into her phone.

"Hey, Izuka? Are you calling me for more merch?"

The young woman chuckled. "No, this isn't a hero nerd call, it's more business. But how have you been?"

"Well, I've been great. Pretty bored around here unless your nephew sends a request in."

"What did he get this time?"

"You taught him well girl. He had me make a crystal katana."

"How much did that cost?"

"About nine thousand in USD. He paid it though. Said he'd saved his allowance."

"I believed it…" Izuka sighed. "He's been a fan of that hero since he was four."

"Yeah well, it's a pretty good work if I do say so. Made it out of one of the alloy's dad has been crafting up. This specific one was so hard I had to grind it with a diamond belt sander. Ended up breaking three belts before it was done. Anyways, how about you?"

Izuka yawned. "I've been doing my thing. Had a lot of breakthroughs with my area of quirk science."

"Have you replicated any more of them?"

"I managed to build an explosion rifle with Katsukis quirk. Been working with a few other quirk aspects… there's this kid who's fire quirk reaches five million kelvin."

"That's crazy! He probably has some huge drawback…"

"Yeah, we'll the fire burns him too. Not super quickly, his fire resistance is off the charts."

"Please tell me you didn't test it with something dangerous…"

Izuka laughed. "No, he just put a blowtorch to his hands. Said it felt fine."

"Insanity…"

"Yeah, we'll. I have a sample of his quirk now. I'm working on adjusting the Katsuki rifle to shoot cremation bullets instead of the large blasting rounds."

"Izuka, at that heat it could turn anything to ash instantly!"

"Yeah… I'll be careful."

"Oi! You better! Now, is this new rifle the business you were talking about? Or is it something else?"

Izuka cleared her throat. "I need to apply for funding, from you or your dad, either is fine."

"Funding… funding for what exactly, and how much? I mean, obviously it'll be a lot if you aren't using your own money."

Izuka sighed. "We'll, that's the thing. I've used a lot of my funds already in developing my own equipment… at the same time, this topic might be too big for one person."

"Izuka… how big are we talking?"

"I'm still not sure… my base findings are probably enough for a Nobel prize…"

"Holy shit…"

"Is everything okay Melissa?"

"Uh… yeah. Here, I'm going to get my dad. Can you do a video call?"

Izuka blinked. "Yeah. Just so you know, I only have an extra half hour before the studio is full."

"Gotcha. Ask to use the support classroom. Get your research too. I want to know all I can."

Izuka blinked as the call cut off. Power Loader walked into the room to find her staring blankly at the device in her hand.

"Everything alright?"

"Yeah… would I be able to use the support classroom for a meeting?"

Power Loader shrugged. "I don't see why not. The first years finished safety courses yesterday, so you should be good to go."

Izuka thanked the professor before moving her research to the empty room. She pulled out her laptop right as the call came.

"Hey Izuka! Wow, you're way prettier than I imagined…"

Izuka chuckled as she saw the blonde on screen. It was their first time video chatting, mostly because Melissa didn't have the security clearance to do so before.

The young woman on screen was beautiful. Her hair was pulled back, and her glasses made her eyes stand out the slightest bit more. Behind her was a man with short blonde hair.

"This is your friend Melissa?"

"Yeah! She doesn't have a quirk, like me! We met a while ago through online classes."

David Shield nodded and looked closer at the camera. "Midoriya was it? I've heard your name a few times."

Izuka chuckled. "I'm taking that as a compliment. I'm one of the minds behind quirk resistant fabric."

"That's right! Izuka Midoriya… you know, that fabric you worked on is one of the main things we use in test suits here on I-island."

"Yeah well, I get a decent chunk of money in its use, but I tend to put it towards charity."

"Admirable… still, why do you need funds if you make that much money?"

Izuka smirked. "Mainly for publicity. To be fair, this project would also accredit you."

David Shield nodded. "You know how to do business… I'm impressed."

"Oh forget all that dad. Izuka, what is your breakthrough about?"

The young woman nodded and held up a folder. "This is the main body of it so far. I've only been working on this project for about two weeks now… Long story short, I've discovered another genetic component of quirks."

David Shields eyes widened. "You what? Another genetic component? How? What is it? What does it do?"

Melissa shoved her father out of the way. "You're going to overwhelm her! Izuka. Can you explain further?"

Izuka nodded. "So… the best way I can explain it is-"

The door to the support classroom opened.

"MOTHER FU-"

"Sorry! I just needed to grab my keys." Power Loader tip toed.

Izuka held her head as the teacher walked out, before taking a deep breath.

"As we know, a person with a quirk has an extra component in their DNA. We refer to this as the quirk factor."

The Shields nodded.

"Well, while looking at a sample of DNA I obtained from the pro hero Eraserhead, I discovered something else. Another component, which helps to regulate the quirk factor."

"An anti quirk factor… you just took one more step to solving one of the worlds greatest mysteries…" David blinked.

"Well, There's still more work to be done… I have a lot of theories, but I need people to work with me on them. I can find out more, I just need time, money, and a few more hands."

David nodded. "I'll keep this on the down low for now… Miss Midoriya, would you be willing to send some of your research over to I-island? I can take care of the paperwork and go through the proper protocols… In return, I'll send over some equipment for you to use."

Izuka nodded. "Mr. Shield, before we make any motion to share our resources, I want it in a contract, on paper, that I am leading this research project."

"Of course. As long as we make decent headway, would you like to announce the project to the world at some point this year?"

Izuka nodded. "I know that the I-island expo is in about two months… but I'd like a bit more time to research the topic."

David nodded. "There's one more opportunity to have others visit the island. The young support engineers competition."

Melissa blinked. "We'd be unveiling it in front of representatives from the entire world! Not just children either… some politicians, and even heroes attend that event!"

"It would be perfect for something so big… although, I feel like it would be overshadowing kids who have accomplished so much."

Izuka pondered for a moment. "What if we unveil it to the kids first. We have them learn of it, and then one week later, we deliver the full announcement. The week after is normally a mini expo for the representatives, right?"

David nodded. "You're right. That would be perfect."

"Awesome idea Izu!"

David took out his own phone and texted while he spoke. "I'm putting in the requests now. You should get the equipment in the next two weeks if all goes according to plan. Also, I'm going to send you two tickets for the expo, along with the contract. We can use it as a middleground to talk over the findings."

Izuka nodded, taking out her own phone as well. "You two are some of the few who know about this breakthrough. We need to keep it a secret until we're completely ready." With a swish of her finger, she quickly signed the contract and sent back a fraction of her research.

David nodded. "This will also require a lot of communication. We should update each other on major changes in research as soon as they come up. Other than that, regular updates bi weekly should be maintained."

Melissa nodded. "I got the email you sent Izuka. We'll get to work as soon as possible."

"Nice. I have to go for now. Talk next week for a first update?"

The Shields nodded. "Sounds good. We'll keep in touch."

"Alright. Talk soon!"

"Talk soon Izuka! Bye!"

The call ended, and Izuka let out a breath.

'Well… that went really well…'

The young woman stood up and stretched, before gathering up her things and walking to the support studio.

"So, what's going on professor?"

The hero turned and gave Izuka a nod. "Hero suit upgrades. Although we're not super into the semester, I want them to learn as much as possible, especially when following specific requests."

"Ah… which suits are they working on?"

Power Loader sighed. "Unfortunately, none. They won't work on the actual suits. Their job is to make something to add on and improve the suit."

"Sir! I finished the prototype!"

Izuka followed the professor over to the workbench, where a boy with white hair had completed a knight-like helmet.

"Ah, you're working on Tensei's suit."

"You know Tensei?" Power Loader blinked.

"Quirkball tech."

"Oh right… and that's tonight isn't it…"

"Yeah. That's why I'm here right now. Organizing the uniforms and putting on the final touches. Anyways, HELMET!"

The young man nodded. "I've built it around his style. I incorporated a bulletproof glass lens in the front, so he can see easily. I've also incorporated an angular gradient, and applied a waterproof and flame resistant coat, which should keep the lens clear in any situation."

"Nice. I'm sure he would appreciate the improvements made." Power Loader nodded.

Izuka smiled and whispered in the boys ear as she passed. "Incorporate ankle and leg support into his armor next. I'm sure he'd appreciate it."

The boy blinked, before grinning and giving Izuka a thumbs up.

The young woman walked to her storage space and began gathering the quirkball uniforms, before leaving the support studio and heading to the quirkball field.

"All right everyone! Today's our final scrimmage before the start of the season. We've got a game tomorrow at one hundred hours. I expect to see you play to the best of your abilities."

The team nodded and the team captain turned to Izuka. "Ah, I was hoping you'd get here soon."

Izuka chuckled. "Mustard will be out of class in a bit. He'll be here too. For now, take your uniforms and warm up. Tensei. Touya. Aika…"

As each player took their uniforms and got changed, Mustard ran onto the field, a suitcase in hand.

"What took you so long?" Izuka asked.

"Well, I got the side project I've been working on. We need uniforms ourselves, right?"

Izuka's eyes glimmered as Mustard opened the case, revealing two black uniforms. Instead of blue and white stripes, two stripes of gold ran down the sides. A gold "UA" Bordered in a dark, almost blood red color, was emblazoned on the breast of each uniform. Upon the back was written "Uniform tech" also in gold. Mustard smirked as he handed the young woman a black cap to tie the uniform together.

"You like it?"

Izuka tackled the young man into the ground with a hug. "I love you so much!"

"Okay love birds!" Touya called from the side of the field. "We've got a scrimmage to do!"

"OI! I haven't seen you stretch!" Izuka yelled back. "Get your ass over to the center of the field!"

Touya rolled his eyes, but jogged over to his teammates without putting up any other resistance.

"He's right though, we should clear the field."

Izuka rolled her eyes at her boyfriend. "And here I thought you'd want a kiss."

Mustard flailed his arms around as Izuka stood up. "No no! Wait! I do want a-"

The young woman chuckled and pulled the boy to his feet, straight into a kiss on the lips.

Izuka could feel Mustards face heat up. Inside she felt like fireworks were going off. With a small smile, she jogged over to the side of the field and pulled out a clipboard.

Mustard slowly walked over and plopped down next to her as the players took their positions. Aizawa yawned, before smiling at Izuka and Mustard.

"You two ready for some quirkball?"

)=(

So there we go! Chapter twenty one! If you couldn't tell, science is a big big part of this story. I'll explain how Izuka knows how to do some of this stuff as the story goes on, mainly because David has trouble with getting quirks to activate.

So yeah, you'll find out why.

Obviously that meeting was longer than I wrote it. I just chalked it up to the more important aspects. You have absolutely no idea how much quirk science I have worked on.

My explanations on quirk functions and limitations are currently sitting at four hundred pages, with Aizawa's taking up a decent chunk of seventy pages. Soooo

Until next time
