Katheryn POV
Well, it's official that Judy Hopps has become a cop and it was no surprise to us that went to work at precinct one. We knew that was going to happen. It was clear to see as day. Kind of a sad fact as well. Not that I don't think she can be a police officer. I do think she will be biased and I do hope that doesn't affect her job. It has to deal with the mayor. Lionheart is too predictable when it comes to how he wants to be seen. He cares about his self-image. He wants to be viewed as the best mayor even those he's not. He's selfish and only cares for his self-image. We can see that and we feel bad for our friend Dawn. If it wasn't for us she would have snapped and done something horrible to innocent predators to set him up. She has told us that before.
Well, Judy became a police officer and didn't fail. Instead, she became top of her class. I believed that she could do it. I didn't think she would become the top of her class. After all, she is a rabbit, and a career in the police force isn't geared for a rabbit. That's something to be proud of for she's a rabbit. We know that Idris was at the top of his class and makes sense for he's from a police family.
"Judy stands out," Nick said
"That she does," I say
Judy does stand out at the graduation; she's the smallest and is the only small prey. Also, her being a rabbit makes her stand up. We see some of her family sitting on a chair. It's big for them for a bunch can sit at it. Of course, she couldn't have her whole family there. It's her parents and maybe close family members. It's hard to tell. Nick and I could sit together with each other. Even one of our kits can join us.
"She's going to patrol the streets soon," Nick said '
"After some time as a parking maid," I say "Chief Bogo is not pleased."
"Touche," Nick said
Chief Bogo is not going to be pleased with having Miss Hopps as one of his officers. He still has bigoted views. It's not as bad as it could be but he still has those views. Nick and I know that Lionheart talked to him about that. We could see that annoyed look on his face when he came to get photographs with his family the following day. I do feel slightly bad. We decided to watch the ceremony that we normally don't watch. But we decided to watch it this year.
Lionheart looks so pleased with himself and we know that's going to come up. After all, he cares about his self-image. Dawn is happy and she would be happy to be there and see Judy. We have seen how Lionheart has treated Dawn. Nick and I know he's going to make Dawn feel like she's not the assistant mayor. He has done that a lot hence the dark thoughts she has told us about.
"As mayor of Zootopia, I'm pleased to announce MY Mammal Inclusion Initiative has produced its police academy graduate," Leodore said
Yep, that's why he looked pleased with himself he was going to bring up. It's like it's all about him. He's proud of that initiative and it's a good one. It does help out mammals in the workforce. Some more quickly and better than others. So it's good that he created it but still, we know it wasn't all for the greater good.
"Valediction of her class, ZPD's first rabbit officer….Judy Hopps." Leodore said
"Assistant Mayor Dawn Bellwether her badge."
"Oh! Yes right," Dawn said
"Thank you," Leodore said
Dawn is nervous about this and Lionheart isn't making it easy for Dawn. For she can get flustered. Still, she's a great mayor too bad that Lionheart can't see that. Bushfield would be able to see that. Watching Dawn give Judy her badge and Judy is beyond happy about this moment. I wonder when she first realized she wanted to be a cop.
"Judy, it is my great privilege to officially assign you to the heart of the city Precinct One, City Center," Leodore said
"We knew that was going to happen." Nick said, "He has to look good."
"Yes that's true," I say
Yep, we knew that Judy was going to end up working a precinct one. That's in the heart of the city. A precinct where police officers want to work at. I haven't thought about what precinct I would work at. I wouldn't want to be a police officer too stressful but I would love to take photographs of crimes. That would be an interesting job. I know that I would be great at it.
"Congratulations, Officer Hopps," Dawn said
"I won't let you down. This has been my dream since I was a little kit." Judy said
"Ya, you know it's a...It's a real proud day for us little guys." Dawn said
So she had that dream since she was a little kit. Makes me wonder how many bullied her for her dream job. Even her family members. Those teachers would tell her to be a carrot farmer or florist for that's what rabbits do. That makes me think of the Icenhowler's and their cruelty. I'm glad that they have that moment for small prey deserve that.
"Bellwether make room will ya? Come on." Leodore said, "Okay, Officer Hopps. Let's see those teeth!"
There's that mistreatment that Lionheart does. He pulls Dawn behind them and photographers snap the moment. Judy doesn't see it and I don't blame her. Nor would Dawn. I miss things when I'm too focused. A bunch of photographs are taken and Dawn nervously gets in the photographs as well. If I were there I would make sure that Dawn was in the photographs. She's the assistant mayor, not a glorified secretary.
It has been a few weeks since Judy became a police officer. The only time she has been on the news was when she arrested Duke with a doughnut on her second day. She has been on parking duty and has arrested petty criminals like Duke Weaselton. He seems to be arrested a few times a week. He's known in precinct one. That's not a good thing. He should do better for himself. Idris says she is determined and does have the makings of a good cop. That is something great coming from Idris.
Hearing the door open up and I see that the Bogo's are on time like always. I see that Idris Bogo is annoyed. He must have gotten news that he doesn't like it. I would guess it has to do with Judy; she's still at the academy. So he must have talked with Mayor Lionheart. They don't get along with each other. Chief Bogo doesn't like Leodore Lionheart those he did like Bushfield.
"Hello, Bogos right on time," I say
"As you like it," Meria said
That I do and they like it as well. Police officers, lawyers, ZEMS, and firefighters should have great time management. Or innocent mammals can get hurt. Also being late is rude and I would understand you have a good reason for being late. For that can't be avoided at times those I wish I could. Being late bugs me so much. A part of it has to deal it being rude.
"So what have you in a mood Idris?" I ask
"You can tell I'm impressed," Idris said "Mayor Lionheart wants Miss Hopps working at precinct one."
His emotions are hard to read since he hides them so well. Idris is one serious mammal. So Judy is doing well at the academy. We have heard stories about her still sticking to the academy. I do have faith in her I don't think we should be limited due to what we can do species we are. Chief Bogo still has his bigoted views but he's not a bad mammal.
"So she's becoming a cop," I say
"Lionheart sure thinks so," Idris said, "He says that Miss Hopps working at precinct one will do great for ZPD."
"That's going to be interesting to see," Nick said, "I do have worries as well."
Yes, it's going to be interesting to see. I know Judy is capable of doing good we're all capable of that. I know why and I do as well. We know she has bigotry with foxes and other predators. That's common among rabbits and hares. We have seen it first paw. Hopefully, that doesn't affect her job.
"Yeah I can see it," Idris said
Takes one to know one and Idris does know that. Old habits are hard to break and Dawn did take some time to break hers. I'm sure that Judy will be capable of the same thing for that's what happened to Demetrius and Ceres. Judy just got to see the truth for herself.
"So do think she has what it takes to be a good cop?" Rory asked
"I have to see that for myself," Idris said
It's easy to tell that he doesn't believe that she can't. It's all in his eyes and tone of voice. He has met Rory and likes him. It's the same for Rory; he likes the Bogo family. I do like the Bogo's as well and so does Nick. The Bogo family likes us as well. Zuri and our younger kits love hanging out with each other. They love playing cops or firefighters. Nick and I are glad that they're friends.
"Makes sense and logical," I say "You will give her a chance won't you?"
"For you, I will try it, Katheryn," Idris said, "I suppose a rabbit can make a good officer. Smaller prey will love her."
Idris looks at me when he says that and I know that has changed his views about capabilities. There's also his niece that also changes what is capability. She has Down syndrome and one lovely buffalo. I know that he means it and that's good. We head off to take their photograph.
We have met all their kits and they're good kits. Mosi is the oldest and he's married to Randi. They have twin daughters, Harmony and Melody. Then there's Aysi and she's the firefighter and she's married to a fellow firefighter named Rohan. There's Baraka and he's a college student. Hoping to become a crime scene investigator. Malaika is a high school freshman. Zuri would be in the 7th grade and Zuberi would be in the fourth grade. He along with Harmony and Melody are friends with our kits. Despite her bigotry, I'm glad that Judy was given a chance. As long as a dream is a good one mammals should be allowed to live it. So far her bigotry for foxes and predators hasn't gotten in the way of her job in a big way. She did have a run-in with Nick but my Artem made her regret that. I haven't run into her. I know that I could pawdle her as well. She's not like Mr. Stone which is a good thing. I don't want to face the likes of him again. I held my paws on my wrist that was a horrible moment. That's a thought for another day.
Work has been a slow day and it makes sense most don't want to go out in cold rainy weather. Nick and Kami went out for a field job Someone wanted both of them. Rory and Serenity have been working as I have. I wouldn't if wasn't built for the cold. I haven't done many photographs today and I have finished more to send in the mail. Going to wait after it rains so our kits can send them in the mail like always. I look out the window and I do love watching the raindrops. I love to see how many can form and then watch it rain down the window. I could watch that for hours. I hear the door open up seeing that Kami and Nick have returned.
"Today is a good day for hot chocolate," Nick said "Also macaroons can never go wrong with macarons."
Nick is holding the hot chocolate for us and Kami is holding the macaroons. Anytime is perfect for hot chocolate and macaroons. Well, maybe when it's hot it's not the perfect time for hot chocolate. For I don't like that. That's when I have frozen or hot chocolate float. I still have an appetite for that. As for food craving it hasn't been so bad. My dislike for mashed potatoes has gotten worst. The smell has gotten worse and it makes me sicker. Luckily I don't have to deal with it a lot. I have been wanting a lot of sour things. Also pickles a lot of them.
"I could use something hot," Serenity said
Serenity isn't a big fan of the cold and always enjoyed a nice cup of hot chocolate after playing in the snow. I do as well for hot chocolate is great. Nick paws out the hot chocolate and each of us has one to our liking. We also get a small box of macarons. I can't wait to eat some macarons they're always great to eat. Well, Nick's macarons wouldn't have for he burned them so badly. We still like playful bringing that up. For it was a funny moment and we all have burned stuff.
"Thank you," I say
"Anything for my Shutterbug," Nick said
Nick kisses me as he paws me my hot chocolate. I take a slip and it has a red velvet flavor for I do love red velvet. Kami got Italian hot chocolate and Serenity got a pink sprinkle surprise. Mine has marshmallows normally I don't like them but in certain treats I do. Nick got blueberry and Rory gingerbread. This hot chocolate came from a hot chocolate palace in Tundratown. They're like Tiki's and have many flavors and serve them year-round. That place is the only way I can get red velvet hot chocolate. I could make my own but they do it so great. The macaroons taste great. I can eat a whole bunch of these for they're so great.
"This hit the spot," Serenity said
It does hit the spot after a gloomy day. The hot chocolate and macaroons would perk you right up. Everyone is enjoying theirs and soon shift will be over. There are boxes on Nick's desk and I know he got some for our kits. For they love macaroons and it makes sense. The majority of kits do love their cookies. I take a sip of my hot chocolate and the door opens up. Seeing that a young mother and her son have entered.
"Hello, would you like a photograph?" I ask
"Not from you, Mrs. Spotts will do it."
Well, that was rude of her and I know she's a bigot by her tone of voice. We should just kick them out after such remarks. But we would lose a lot of money and we can pawdle the likes of them. Serenity doesn't like it but deals with it. She has a smile on her face and Serenity walks over to them.
"Right away ma'am." Serenity said
They head over to one of the backgrounds and her son waves over to me. I wave to him and bigotry is always learned. Hopefully, such views won't limit and ruin his life. I know that he's a good kit. They head over to the background and get ready for some photographs. Looks like they're doing basic photographs. So it won't take long to do them. The door opens up again and I see one of Nick's regulars Lindsay Pottersun a jaglion. She's thirty-two and a ZEMS or paramedic like Evie. After she was honorary discharged from the military and she was a medic.
"Hello Lindsay," I say
"Hello, Katheryn," Lindsay said
Lindsay and I are sort of friends and we can talk with each other. We would stop and chat with each other if we saw each other in public. We don't make plans to hang out if it's just the two of us. She places her umbrella near the door for that's where they go. We don't want water lurking around. We have a mat to wash dirty feet. She heads over to Nick.
"What kind of mammal is she mummy?"
"A freak," she mumbled
Of course, she would be a bigot with hybrids. A lot of mammals are against inter-species relationships. They see it as unnatural. That hybrids are bizarre and freaks of nature. Those who are against the relationships call them predaprey. Trying to insult them and it's more of the tone of voice. Those who are really against it try to make interspecies relationships illegal again. For once it was legal in 1976 and it's only been about forty years since it became legal. It's a sad fact for it should never have been illegal even if they were the same species like a red fox and an arctic fox. That counted as inter-species since there's a difference. I would have had to marry a fellow Arctic fox back in the day. There would be no Nick or Ienzo back in the day. If we did we would have been arrested and sent to prison. Or even have a worse fate. All because we loved a different species even in the same kingdom. I don't see myself as one and we don't get harsh looks because we're different just foxes. We know foxes are all the same to them.
"I'm a jaglion," Lindsay said
"So like a jaguar and lion that's cool."
See not all is lost for he doesn't have his mother's views. Kids don't have those views they learn them from hate. But I do fear that it can happen for it happens a lot. I hope that innocent kit doesn't have the same views as his mother. The mother looks so annoyed right now. It's like she's going to burst. She takes his paw and they're on their way. He waves goodbye and Lindsay waves back. Still heading out to Nick.
"I see you want the special," Nick said
"Yes I do," Lindsay said
We know what special means for being a paramedic can be a difficult job. She has done this from time to time. What she does is to honor those who were lost and for their loved ones. I hope today wasn't a difficult one. I know I couldn't pawdle in the medical field. Not afraid of blood just don't have the skills to do it. She takes a seat in front of his desk. It will take a few minutes to get it done. Then she will be back to wherever she was before. I drink more of my hot chocolate and it's almost finished. Cold hot chocolate like hot tea doesn't taste good. I finish my last sip and eat another macaroon. They're almost finished as well. Seeing that Serenity has finished hers, of course, that makes sense. She does love her macaroons.
"Thank you Nick this going to be treasured," Lindsay said
"Your welcome Lindsay," Nick said
Seeing that the sketch is already framed and he does that for special sketches. Lindsay takes it and waves goodbye as she leaves. Rory has been thinking to himself I can see it in his eyes. I know it gets tough for him and it's a pain I haven't felt and I'm lucky. So I count my blessings. I heard over to Nick and hug him. I always do that when he has to do difficult artwork. I know he made something beautiful.
"Your hugs are the best Shutterbug," Nick said
"I still take your word on that," I say
I know that hugs are special and make others feel better. But I don't feel like that hugs are just something. I do like them with certain mammals and others are uncomfortable. Some are just fine nothing to feel. I still believe what Nick says even when I don't understand that. Hugs are a choice in our house.
"Hugs are magical," Rory said
"See he gets it," Nick said
Nick points over to Rory with a smirk on his face like they're onto something. Rory lets out a laugh and he has a good laugh. He told us when the first time he laughed he missed it. This laughter was like when he was a father. Lost for so long. I shake my head and laugh.
"Two minds that are ridiculous," I say
"Your words wound me, Shutterbug," Nick said
We all laugh again and I look at the time it's closing time. There's no one else coming today. So we start closing up. It doesn't take long for us to do it. Nick finishes his hot chocolate. Rory and Serenity start closing up. Kami gathers the trash and I help out as well. Nick gathers the macaroon boxes and we head our ways. It's now raining lightly and the smell of rain still smells good. Nick and I hold paws as we walk. A rabbit mother with a necklace and her daughter walk past us. The mother pulls her in closer and we have seen them around. Seeing rabbits makes me think of our trip to Bunnyburrow.
Back at Bunnyburrow and it's only for the weekend. We wanted to make the trip to tell Gideon and Aspen the wonderful news. They're going to love the news. Our kits enjoy going to Bunnburrow even with bigotry. We try to visit as often since we have good friends here. We're going to meet up at Gideon Grey's Real Good Baked Stuff. We enjoy going there each time we go to Bunnyburrow. Nick loves getting the blueberry pie. Well, anything blueberry for he loves them so much. I go for red velvet unless it's coconut for I don't like the taste. For coconut tastes gross. Soren loves getting a blondie which is a vanilla brownie. Morgan loves cheesecake. Kari loves apple crumble and Virgil fudgy brownies. Percy loves gingerbread cake and Aspen loves blackberry clobber. Gideon has a lot of baked goodies to choose from. Also, he's a fantastic baker. I give his baked goods five stars.
We stand in front of Gideon's bake shop and it looks like the average one. He has two food trucks to make deliveries to homes. So he has made a name for himself even when he's a fox. His store is popular even among rabbits.
"Hello, Forsters it's good to see you again," Gideon said
"It's good to see you as well," I say
"Uncle Gideon!"
Other than Percy our kits started to call Gideon by that. Gideon is not upset that Percy doesn't and he knows his story. He knows what it feels like to lose a temper for he did that a lot in his youth. So she has helped out Percy and we're glad that our son has someone to talk to. He's not related to Nick in any way and he takes pride in being called Uncle Gideon. He hasn't started a family of his own yet for he's looking for the right vixen. We know that he will find the right one when the moment is right. For he's a great fox.
"Your uncle has saved your table and your dad the best blueberry pie piece."
"Perks of knowing the owner mammally, Nick said
Nick has a smirk on his face and said that in a joking voice. Gideon does enjoy that and Nick just loves it when Gideon saves him the best blueberry pie. For he makes great blueberry pie not great as his mothers. Gideon takes no offense to that for you don't dish your mothers or grandmother cooking or baking. Well, I do for Mrs. Icenhowler for she's no mother. But Grandmother Forester cooking and baking are the best. Gideon baking is right at the top.
"Yes, that's a great table," Kari said
"That it is and Aspen has been waiting," Gideon said
"I can't wait to see Aspen," Morgan said
Our kits get along with Aspen well and we're happy about that. Percy looks over Aspen like she's a younger sister. Morgan and Aspen get along fantastically. For they have similar stories. So they have faced similar pains. Aspen loves pushing Morgan around and enjoys it. We head inside the bakery and it has fair business. Mammals are enjoying their treats. Aspen happily waves over to us. We wave back to her. Morgan takes a seat next to her. Kari sits next to Morgan and Virgil as well. Percy sits on her other side. Nick and will sit next to each other. First, we will get our baked goodies. Gideon heads back to work. It won't take him long to make ours. Look over at Nick and I see him wagging his tail. He sure is looking forward to that special blueberry pie piece. I wrap my tail with his.
"I can smell my fantastic blueberry piece already," Nick said
"Of course, you can," I say
I playfully roll my eyes at him and Nick kisses my cheek. There are many baked goods smells and do smell delicious. It makes me hungry for some sweets. I can't wait to eat mine. We wait for a few minutes until Gideon comes with our goodies. Like he said he did save a fantastic blueberry pie piece.
"Oh yes come to Papa!" Nick said happily
Nick's like a kit a Christmas I smile and laugh. I love him so much Nick's so great. Gideon laughs and we take out goodies to the table. Others stare but we're not bothered by it. We take a seat at our spots. Our kits and Aspen take their treats. They're going to enjoy it. I take a photograph. I also take a photograph of Nick biting into his blueberry pie. That's a treasure for sure.
"You know how to take memorable pics," Nick said
"That I do," I say
I take more photographs as they enjoy their goodies. I also take photographs of myself with a timer. Gideon comes around after a few minutes. He knows that we have news to tell him and Aspen. They're looking forward to the news. Gideon takes a seat and Aspen finishes her bite.
"So what news that you have for us?" Aspen asked
"I can tell its great news," Gideon said
"Yes, it is the most fantastic news!" Morgan said
Our kits agree with that remark other than Percy. I can see hurt in his eyes. He hides it from his siblings and takes a bite of his goodie. That does bring a smile to his face. Nick and I feel bad for him and we will get through this together. We're going to show that he's our son no matter what. Nick and I hold each other paws and we have huge smiles.
"We're going to have a baby we're pregnant." Nick and I say
"Aww, that's fantastic news you're going to be great parents to a newborn and kit," Gideon said
"That's so great! Oh, can I hold him or her?!" Aspen said
"Thank you," I say "and of course, you can Aspen."
"Sweet!" Aspen said
"Yes thank you, Gideon," Nick said
Gideon and Aspen are so happy for us and have indoor voices. My camera captured their reactions. Aspen is really happy and she's an only kit. Nor did other family members let her hold their babies. Yet we won't be biased and let our kits hold their brother or sister. That we will let Aspen hold him or her. We talk excitingly to each other.
That was a great visit and Aspen calls us showing that she's been practicing holding a baby. We're so glad that we can make her happy. I'm glad that I'm giving her a chance that didn't get when I was kit. I won't let ableism ruin my life as it did for the Icenhowler's. My life is going to be so great. As their lives are going to be terrible. I'm surprised that they haven't said anything to us. We have blocked them but that hasn't stopped them before. They will have thoughts on us having our own kit. They have spoken poorly of our kits in the past and they weren't kind words. Typical of ableists who think poorly of those with disabilities. Luckily our kits never found out about that. We'll tell someday if they want to hear it. They know my parents are no good and they have yet to ask if the Icenhowler's would have the same views. Percy knows since he's older they would treat him like his life is the saddest. It is since his mother choose to drink but the way they said it showed their bad views.
Kaia and I are at the park we love going to the park. It's a lot of fun. I wish that Nick and Ienzo were here. But Nick is on a trip with his parents and Ienzo having fun with his uncle. Skye is spending time with her grandmother. Other kits are playing on the playground. But they don't want to play with me. They don't like foxes that's what they told me. Kaia is swinging with Mom. She still learning to swing on her own. So I head over to the tube slide. Moving past other kits. They don't push me and that has happened before. That hurt for I fell in wood chips and I cut my right paw. They didn't get into a lot of trouble for that. I walk up to the slide and there's no kit wanting to slide down. So I get to go right away and I have fun going down. Slides are so much fun. Then I get on the long slide and the swirling one as well. I have a lot of fun.
"Lemur bars!" I say
I do like going on the lemur bars and I can even skip one. I want to skip even more. Yet Mom and Dad don't like when I do it. Makes no sense a lot of kits do it including my friends. They don't tell them to stop. So I don't do it in front of them. Grandmother Forester thinks it's neat when I do it. Looking over at my family. Now Kaia is using the sand digger and that's fun. There are two lemur bars and a kit using one. So I use the other lemur bars. I start the first one and skip the next one and do the same thing until I get across. Then I see a girl zebra my age. She wasn't here before and she's playing by herself. She can be a new friend. So I walk over to her. Seeing that she's playing with chalk. I don't like chalk but can draw with chalk. It's mostly with Nick since he loves chalk. It makes sense for he's an artist like his mother.
"Hello, my name is Katheryn Forester," I say
She waves over at me and looks like she's drawing happy clouds. I do like drawing flowers and sunflowers are my favorite. She doesn't talk so she must be shy or is nonverbal. I know a few mammals that are nonverbal and they're good mammals. That's okay for not everyone likes to talk. I don't talk a lot so that would make me the quiet type. Her parents are watching her.
"Oh, she doesn't talk…"
"Susan what a lovely name," I say
I see that she points and she has written her name. She also points to chalk so I will draw as well. First I get brown chalk and draw a circle. Or at least the best circle for I can't draw them. Nick is very good at drawing them and his mother is more amazing. Even his father is good at drawing them. I guess artists have that talent. I draw six of them because I want to draw six sunflowers. I start out with pink because I don't like the color but pink does make pretty flowers. I start making the petals and they're not the same. I can't do that but Nick can and he loves my flowers. Saying that artist is how we see it and I do love my flowers too. I make sure that the petals are even for I don't like odd numbers. I don't know why. The pink one is the smallest and then I use purple next. Then I make a red sunflower. Susan looks at my flowers and points to the sun and a flower.
"Yeah, they're sunflowers," I say
"So does your daughter have Autism? Martin asked
"Oh no she has FAS," her father said
I didn't see them come over and Kaia has chalk as well. Helping Susan make some happy rocks. What is FAS I haven't heard of it or think so. FAS sounds like the short version of it and she does look like she has a syndrome. I could tell by the face and that's not in a mean way. Or I'm not trying to be mean I think that. It reminds me of Down Syndrome and could they be related? They're friendly mammals I have met a few.
"Yeah, we adopted her after her mother was arrested and it doesn't slow her down."
"Oh that's so SAD," Cadence said "Alc…"
"It's Heartbreaking that Kit has that condition."
Mom and dad tone of voice is very sad and her parents aren't happy. Also, mom didn't finish her sentence and I know she would say alcohol. I do know what that is it's a drink only for adults. I know that my parents and Grandmother Forester drink sometimes. Like on Christmas, New Year's Eve, and Valentine's. They don't get what you call drunk it's when you get weird for drinking too much. So maybe a mother's drinking can affect a kit. Why is it sad? FAS sounds like Autism or Down Syndrome and it's not sad.
I didn't understand at the time that the Icenhowler's were so inconsiderate it was insulting to her parents. Kaia and I never saw Susan or her family again. I know it didn't have to deal with the Icenhowlers. They just moved and we weren't friends. One of those mammals you meet for a short time. I hope that their lives turned out well. Grandmother Forester did tell me when I asked and kit friendly well. When I was older I understood how it happened. The Icenhowler's treated me like I couldn't understand even when I could. Those are thoughts for another time.
We're having an indoor picnic for it a cold early spring day. We do love having picnics and have them when we can. They're going to love the macaroons. For tonight's dinner, we're going to have good old sandwiches from Subwave, chips, pretzels, macaroni, and potato salad. I'm having my regular which is bug ham and everything other than black olives and jalapenos for I don't like them. Nick got his regular as well. Percy got on honey oat with bug turkey, Monterey cheese, green peppers, lettuce, pickles, and honey mustard. Virgil got wheat with tuna, melt processed cheese, red onion, tomatoes, and mayo. Kari chose Italian parmesan oregano with bug salami white cheese, red onion, cucumbers, black olives, and sweet onion. Soren chose the spicy Italian and Morgan chose the bug black forest ham. We all got foot longs and they love eating subs from Subway. I also have a plate of macaroni salad and a paper plate with chips and pretzels.
"So how was everyone's day?" I ask
"It was good only missed one word on my spelling test," Soren said
"That's fantastic," Nick said
"It truly is," I say
We're always glad when they do well on tests and not so well. We want them to feel proud of their hard work. I always felt stupid when I failed tests. Especially on those standardized tests I always failed those tests. My Kaia and friends did average and Ienzo did well. We don't want them to think lowly of themselves.
"It was a good day and we got to watch a movie in class." Virgil
"Always the best day," Nick said
"Yeah they were always fun," I say
We almost always loved when we could watch a movie even when it was educational. Some weren't good but it was always better than listening to a teacher. One of the bad ones was those D.A.R.E or Drug Abuse Resistance Education. Those videos were bad and the program wasn't good. I heard that more kits turned to drugs and alcohol than not. Luckily my friends and I never cared about doing drugs or drinking. Or at least a lot of drinking. Kaia and her friends were the same way.
"School was normal," Percy said
Percy eats more of his sandwich and we all have school days like that. He's not the biggest fan of school since he has difficulties. Also due to bullies making me feel bad things. We make sure that they know what bullies say is not true. That trying your best is what matters and we all have things we're bad at. Percy has listened to that advice and it has been better for him.
"I got to play games with my friends," Morgan said
Morgan got a nice group of friends and they're in wheelchairs like her. She is friends with someone with cerebral palsy. Since she goes to school that's perfect for those in wheelchairs and those with mobility differences. We don't have to worry about Morgan getting around. The school is made for wheelchairs and the park is a wheelchair-friendly playground. We're glad that there's a school for Morgan and she loves it there. School should be a place where you like to learn and be at.
"Playing games with friends is lots of fun," Nick said
"That it is," I say
I always love playing games with my friends and especially when I was younger. For I love playing games and it was more fun with other mammals, especially friends. I do play games alone and I do try to play fair by myself. But I would never cheat playing with others. Even when they would cheat.
"Other than indoor recess it was a fun day," Kari said
"Your mother always dreaded indoor recess." Nick said "It's just rain we can play in the rain. Concerts aren't canceled for rain. Thunder and lighting yes for that's dangerous. Snow and cold that's what winter jackets and gloves are for."
Nick playfully teases me and he's overplaying it. He had a whiny voice when he said what I said. I do admit that I was whiny when we had indoor recess. I didn't hate it, I just love spending time outside. Our kits laugh even Percy and give Nick my not-hateful glare. More laughs and Nick kisses me. I did see that coming Nick is so predictable hence why I love him so much. There are ewws and more laughs. We enjoy the rest of our picnic by talking and laughing.
Author note Sorry for the long update been taking the time and life got in the way. I have almost finished the crime Nick and Judy finished. I was typing it well but that got lost when the tablet I was using died. So I'll have to retype it so I don't mess it up and also I like what came up with. What case it is should be obvious since my story follows the movie timeline. I can see Mayor Lionheart informing that Judy would work at precinct one and Chief Bogo not liking the news. Predaprey is inter-species I wanted to do something different than inter. I don't know if it's the same as it was in FTB. I just used a website to combine predator and prey. I can see it being viewed as interracial relationships. Hence it became legalized the same year. If Yes, the female rabbit with the necklace and her daughter is the same one from the movie pushing away from the tiger. Until next time readers.
