0713MM: Hey guys! I welcome you to the 17th chapter of The Silver Valkyrie! I do not own Black Clover, nor its characters, nor the OCs that are used in this chapter. The OCs and their Spells respectively are owned by Warmachine375. Chapter start!^^
Chapter 17
"Hey wait a minute Alice, where's your armor?" Dazu asked the brown and yellowette.
"I was wondering that myself." Bow added as she healed those that needed it from the Witches Forest mission. Valeria just chuckled softly knowingly as the Amber Phoenix squad members sat in the living room-like area; minus Vide and Meshu, who were napping at this time. Alice entered the living room while biting into a muffin.
"Hmm?" Alice spoke through eating the muffin bite, eventually swallowing it. "Oh my armor? After our new recruit here used her Flame Magic to burn through it, I took it off and it returned to base on its own."
"EHHH?!" The ones present in the living room gaped. Friede almost fell off the couch in response.
"I was wondering why I heard quaking." Mariella remarked as she turned a page in her book after recovering from the initial shock.
"Well, we know now." Mars remarked. Both Captain Fana and Elf were sitting at a nearby table, playing what appeared to be chess. Fanzell and Dominante were watching them play.
"I wonder when a new mission will come up for us." Friede wondered aloud.
"I think a break is appropriate." Lily remarked to Friede's statement.
"We shall find out soon." Mars added.
"Wait, isn't Captain Acier going to contact Fana soon?" Fanzell questioned.
"She should be, yeah." Dominante retorted. "From what Fana told us, it's a coup to overthrow House Kira."
"Good." Valeria remarked as she bit into an apple as she entered the living room. "Those royals can't even do their jobs properly. Besides, Clover is long overdue for a change in the ruling house."
"Don't think overthrowing them will be easy." Kabwe spoke as he, Siona, and Onby entered the base. The 3 former Magic Parliament members's Amber Phoenix uniform has some torn sections on them.
"Oh dear!" Lily gaped upon noticing the 3. "Are you 3 alright?"
"Yeah, we're fine." Siona spoke softly. "Just finished a mission, as you can tell."
"The thugs were tougher than we first thought." Kabwe added as he placed the mission report on the coffee table.
"But with teamwork, we managed to apprehend them." Onoby grinned. "They will be receiving justice for their crimes."
"That's funny. Because that's what I should be saying to you, humans." The Amber Phoenix squad members that didn't go to the dungeon to retrieve the magic stone were confused, but those who did go, were twitching. Elf Fana just stiffened at the sound of the voice.
Patri… Elf Fana thought.
"Tch…!" Dazu grunted.
"To think the Leader of the Eye of the Midnight Sun would come here." Mariella scowled deeply. Friede gripped her scythe that was lying on the side of the couch.
"If it's a fight he wants, it's a fight he'll get." Friede remarked with a slight grin. Mariella stood up and created an ice sword.
"Right." Mariella nodded. "Let's go, Friede, Alice."
"Way ahead of you." Alice grinned as she got out her grimoire.
She's not going to use her Enchanted Armor? Lily thought. Mariella glanced at Valeria as she walked out of the base. "Think you can defend the base and those inside from the attacks of our foes that are here?"
"I can do that." Valeria nodded. "But I'll need to be outside to do so."
"In that case," Mariella began before turning to the other Amber Phoenix squad members. "I'll defend the base should Valeria fall."
"Wait!" Elf Fana spoke up, making all of them turn to her.
"What is it, elf me?" Captain Fana asked her elf counterpart, concern evident on her face. Elf Fana clenched her hands into fists.
"I appreciate the fact that you're trying to protect me, but the Leader of the Eye of the Midnight Sun wants me." The elf counterpart to the Amber Phoenix Squad Captain told them. "So please, just let me-"
"No way." Captain Fana interjected, confusing her elf counterpart. "If they want you, they'll have to take you by force. I freed you from that nightmare and gave you a second chance by joining my squad. And I will not let them get there way. That's why my squad members will fight against them." Elf Fana opened her mouth, but no words came out. Mars walked towards the door, as well as Captain Fana.
"If anyone gets injured, please come inside and see me or Lily!" Bow called out to those heading outside. Captain Fana glanced over her shoulder at Bow, and nodded.
"Right." Captain Fana replied.
"We'll go too." Kabwe replied, only for Lily to shake her head.
"Nuh-uh, you said you just got back from a mission, yeah? Then you 3 are staying inside." Lily told them. Though her tone was filled with a caring nature, her facial expression held hidden intimidation. This caused the 3 former Magic Parliament guards to shake in submission.
"Y-Yes ma'am!" The 3 blurted out. Lily just smiled in satisfaction while Dazu just stared in surprise.
Note to self: Never piss off Lily. Dazu thought.
"*yawn* Are you expecting the entire squad to come out or something?" Rhya questioned Patri with a yawn.
"I expect a fair number of them to come out and face us." Patri replied before he grinned. "But no matter how many of them there are, they cannot defeat us."
"Golden Eye Binding Magic: Paralyze Laser." Two golden beams fired towards both Patri and Rhya. Rhya chuckled in amusement as he and Patri both vanished in a flash of light as the 2 golden beams hit 2 trees behind where the 2 Eye of the Midnight Sun mages were originally floating. Patri and Rhya reappeared and took notice of the multitude of Amber Phoenix squad members that were now outside with open grimoires; staring down there 2 foes with some anger burning in their eyes.
"Back for round 2, huh?" Friede spoke first towards Patri. Patri glanced towards Friede and smirks.
"In a way, yes." He retorted before frowning. "But me and Rhya aren't here for you. We want our friend back. Your newest squad member." Captain Fana narrowed her light blue eyes at those words.
"I put too much effort into freeing her from the Third Eye." Captain Fana remarked. "So if you want her, you'll have to do it the hard way!" Patri just rolled his eyes while Rhya just grinned lazily.
"If they want the hard way, let's give it to them, Patri." Rhya told his ally. Patri glanced at Rhya and nodded in agreement.
"Yes, let's." Patri spoke as several light swords appeared behind him. "Light Magic: Light Swords of Conviction." Several light swords flew towards the Amber Phoenix squad mages. "Let's see how fast you can react, Amber Phoenix squad mages." Mariella, Alice, Mars and Captain Fana easily evaded the light swords. (Mariella from her assassin training, Alice, Mars and Fana from the survival games Morris made them participate in, as well as Fanzell's training with them.) Friede and Dazu on the other hand, didn't have time to dodge, but Valera used her Earth Magic to form makeshift earth shields to defend the 2 from the light swords.
"Thanks Valeria!" Friede called back to the older woman. Valeria just gave her a thumbs up in response. Patri continued to fire Light Swords of Conviction at the Amber Phoenix squad members. While Patri did that, Rhya contemplated his move to enter the battle. He glanced at each Amber Phoenix squad member that came out of the base to challenge him and Patri.
"Hmm… They each have there own unique magics…" Rhya mused as he glanced over at Alice, then Friede, and lastly Dazu, who were defending themselves from more Light Swords of Conviction. "Especially those 3. Their magics will make a fine addition to my collection." He was about to teleport via copying Patri's Light Magic, but then… Alice leapt into the air and casted a spell to counter Patri's Light Swords of Conviction; thus stopping them and causing both Rhya and Patri to go on the defense.
"Golden Eye Magic: Million Laser!" Alice declared as a sphere of Golden Eye Magic surrounded her head like a makeshift helmet; firing a multitude of golden eye-like lasers towards Rhya and Patri. Patri tched as he and Rhya dodged them by simply teleporting via their Light Magic. Or in Rhya's case, copied Light Magic. Friede looked up from her shield thanks to Valeria and raised her scythe up. After a minute or so, she turned to Valeria, who looked back and nodded. Afterwards, she turned to look over at Dazu.
"I'm going in." Friede whispered to Dazu.
"But Alice is still using her Golden Eye Magic: Million Laser spell." Dazu whispered back. "Won't you get hurt by it?"
"I'm pretty sure Alice understands my plan." Friede whispered back. "If she doesn't yet, she will soon. In the meantime, think you can borrow magic from everyone here in this fight, and possibly inside the base?" Dazu gaped in surprise, but nodded nonetheless.
"I should be able to, yes." Dazu replied softly. "But are you planning on doing?" Friede grinned in response.
"Ambushing Patri and that guy that's helping him." Friede remarked.
"You mean a sneak attack." Dazu corrected the blackette.
"Yes, sneak attack." Friede repeated.
While Friede prepared herself, Patri and Rhya were still evading the golden beams being launched from the golden sphere around Alice's head.
"She can't keep casting that without putting risk to this whole area…" Patri mused as he teleported out of the way from another set of golden eye beams. "She'll eventually have to stop." As if on cue, Alice stopped her Golden Eye Magic: Million Laser, causing both Rhya and Patri to grin.
"Copy Magic: Aqua Javelin!" Rhya declared as he threw it towards Valera. "Sorry, but with you defending them, you're the first I have to take out. Plus your magic is weak to water."
"Crystal Creation Magic: Laevateinn!" A large crystal blade appeared in front of Valeria and blocked the water javelin. Rhya gaped then turned to see Mars standing not too far away from his target.
"Tch..!" Rhya grunted. "Alright, guess I'll take you on." Rhya teleported to Mars. Valeria glanced over at Mars who was now fighting Rhya.
I'll send Mars some backup. Valeria thought.
Earth Creation Magic: Golem Knights. Valeria waved her arms to form the golem knights that formed out of the earth around her. She then made more signals with her arms and the golem knights headed towards Rhya to help Mars out.
Meanwhile, Patri was firing light beams at the other Amber Phoenix squad members that came out to fight him and Rhya, with Captain Fana using her Flame Creation Magic: Phoenix Wings to form a large barrier around them to absorb the light beams, in addition to forming another set for herself to become airborne.
"Flame Creation Magic: Phoenix Feather Shot!" Captain Fana declared as the flaming phoenix feathers came firing at Patri; cancelling out some of the light beams he was firing.
"So, you're Captain Fana." Patri remarked as he teleported in and out of the Phoenix Feather Shot spell Captain Fana was casting.
"That's right." Captain Fana replied. "And I understand why you confused me for your friend, who is now my squadmate." Patri gnashed his teeth in anger at that remark before recomposing himself.
"You clearly brainwashed her then." Patri retorted as he teleported right in front of her and did a stabbing motion with said light sword towards Captain Fana's chest. "But once you fall, there's no doubt the rest of your Amber Phoenix squad members will cower." But to his surprise, Captain Fana evaded his stab attack and punched him in the face with a Flame Magic imbued fist.
"Flame Magic: Calidus Brachium!" Captain Fana declared as she sent the Leader of the Eye of the Midnight Sun flying backwards. Patri grunted as blood trickled down his face from the punch. But unfortunately for him, he got punched in the back by something.
"Kuh….! What the hell..?!" Patri groaned as he teleported away, then reappeared. He turned around to see who had hit him. To his surprise, it wasn't any of the Amber Phoenix squad mages. Instead it was…!
"Never mind my initial plan!" Friede grinned as she rode on her Black Flame Creation Magic: Hellfire Bird spell. "Nice going, Dazu!"
"Catalyst Summoning Magic: Mana Beast!" Dazu sat on top of the earthen mana beast she created by borrowing the magic of all the mages within her vicinity. Including her squadmates inside the base! Rhya glanced over to the scene and chuckled.
"Well, looks like I know who to copy." Rhya grinned as he teleported away from Mars and to now be floating in front of Dazu. "I hope you don't mind me touching your grimoire dear." Dazu gaped as Rhya moved his right hand towards Dazu's grimoire, but…
"Don't you dare!" Friede leapt off her Hellfire Bird and towards Rhya with her scythe imbued with Black Flame Magic and slashed his shoulder; causing intense burning pain. Rhya clutched his shoulder.
"ARGH!" Rhya roared in pain as he fell towards the ground.
"Valeria!" Friede called to her squadmate. "Now!"
"Right! On it!" Valeria replied as she clenched her right hand into a fist as earth chunks floated out of the ground, then she moved her other arm to get the earth chunks to fly towards Rhya; thus encasing him. "Earth Binding Magic: Prison Grip!"
"Ack…! Can't move…!" Rhya grunted in pain. Patri took notice of this and growled lowly, feeling his anger boil at the fact that he was so careless to not catch onto the Amber Phoenix squad members' plan. But no more! He'll end them himself!
"You humans are all the same!" Patri roared angrily. "But no more! You'll fall by my power!" His yellow glowing 4 leaf clover grimoire turned a few pages before glowing again. "This is the end for you peons! Good luck defending yourself against this spell!" His Light Magic mana began to envelope him into a single point. "Don't bother trying to stop me casting this! Since this takes heavy concentration to cast, any interruptions will create an explosion of Light Magic!"
"Such power…!" Dazu shielded her eyes with her right arm.
"Yeah…!" Friede agreed as she stood next to Dazu's Earth Mana Beast.
"Tch…! If he casts it, we're all dead...!" Captain Fana grit her teeth.
"This is the end for you all!" Patri vowed. "Light Magic: Ray of-!" But before he could finish, his and Captain Fana's communicators blipped. Patri stopped his mana charge, as well as Captain Fana with her own mana charge. The 2 leaders looked at each other, then at there comrades.
"Umm….I gotta take this…" Patri and Captain Fana spoke in unison out of awkwardness as they answered there communicators. Rhya, Mars, Valeria, Alice, Dazu, and Friede sweatdropped and/or facepalmed as there spells dissipated.
"Seriously?!" The other 6 groaned loudly.
"What is it?" Patri spoke in irritation. "I'm a bit busy here!"
"Yes Captain Acier?" Captain Fana asked.
"Now now Patri. Remember, your plan is to obtain all the magic stones so you can revive your elf brethren." A female voice spoke on the other end. "I am aiding you in this. Do not go off course for something as minimal as reclaiming an ally from the enemy. Am I clear?"
"I've finished the preparations for Operation: Overthrow House Kira." Captain Acier replied to Captain Fana's question. "You and your elf counterpart are invited. But I take it you 2 have no objections."
"None from me." Captain Fana retorted. "And I don't believe my elf counterpart is against going either."
"Of course." Patri replied, albeit reluctantly "I'll be returning to HQ."
"Excellent. Meet me and the others partaking in this operation at House Silva." Captain Acier spoke. After she spoke, both Captain Fana and Patri ended there communications. Patri teleported to Rhya and helped him up. Patri then turned to face each and every one of the Amber Phoenix squad members that came out to face him and Rhya.
"You lot may have won today, but know this: The Eye of the Midnight Sun is always watching." Patri told them in a warning tone before he and Rhya vanished from the area; leaving the Amber Phoenix squad members outside in a surprised state.

the official chapter to House Kira Overthrown Arc isn't until the next chapter, aka, chapter 18. But still! I see chapter 17 as the first official chapter to the House Kira Overthrown Arc.
