Chaos, that would be the best way to describe things now. One moment he had been trying to get into Project Kr's containment room. The next he was being rushed by a very angry Project Kr. The Talon just managed to roll out of the way of her first attack, and before he could say anything the other Genomorphs began to attack both her and the sidekicks. Desmond made a break for it fleeing down the hall as the battle broke out.

The Talon ducked a Batarang that Robin had thrown at him, he came back up only for Supergirl to tackle him through a wall and into another room. He groaned getting to his feet, and was just barely able to dodge a hit that he was pretty sure would have taken his head off.

"Wait, calm down for a minute, I can explain!" He dodged and weaved through the Krytonians' angry assault.

"Why would I ever do that!? You helped keep me trapped here!" She yelled, attacking, landing a punch to his ribs and sending him flying backwards into the wall; she rushed him again only for him to slam his own foot into her ribs.

"I did, but I didn't want to. I had to do it to stay alive as well! I was trying to protect you!" He said, raising his hands and digging into a pocket of his uniform.

"Yeah right! You're just trying to save your own skin!" She said eyes began to glow red as she rushed him.

"Wait! I mean it! Just calm down, please!" He said drawing out his hand and revealing not a knife or a weapon, but a long gold colored chain with a locket at the end. He popped it open, and a projected image came out.

Supergirl was smiling, beside her was a blonde man and woman, with bright blue eyes that looked very similar to her. Next to them was another couple with jet black hair and Blue eyes. In her arms was a sleeping baby wrapped tightly in a blue blanket as they all smiled at whatever was taking the image.

Supergirl stopped, her fist inches from his face as she stared at the image with wide eyes.

"My locket, where did you get that!?" She demanded swiping it from his hand and staring at the image.

"It was on your ship when they brought you in."

"I thought they would have destroyed all my things or taken them for study?" She said, narrowing her eyes as she looked at him.

"They did, but I thought you would want it so I swiped it before they could destroy it. I was keeping it on me to give back to you once I figured out how to get us both out of here. I just couldn't figure out how to do it."

"Why would you want to get me out?" She questioned.

"Because, I've been under these peoples thumb for years, I don't want anyone else to have to get through that. Especially someone who was innocent like you. This situation, those guys out there are the best shot we've had at this. Please, all of us can get out of here and be free, we just have to work together."

"You're asking me to trust you?" She asked skeptically.

"No, just work with me and them so we can get out of here. After that, you all can do whatever you want to me, even kill me. Let's just get out of this hell hole first okay?" He asked, offering his hand out to her as she stared at it.

-With the Sidekicks-

Aqualad dodged a Genomorphs hit, forming the water of his barriers into a hammer, before hitting it hard, sending it flying into another group that had started to surround Robin. Robin was pivoting on the spot back to back with Artemis, each of them fighting off Genomorphs. Kid Flash was darting around the area taking out as many as he could. However, it was rapidly becoming apparent to Aqualad they were outnumbered and eventually they would be overwhelmed. A situation that was made all the worse by the large pods along the walls bursting open and more Genomorphs swarming towards them.

Then there was a roar, and Supergirl came pelting out of the hole in the wall she and the Talons battle had made moments earlier. She hit one of the emerging Genomorphs and rattled the wall on impact. She spun facing the oncoming Genomorphs and cracking her knuckles and smirking. Just before one of them swung on her The Talon leapt out the hole flipping forward a few times as he fired several feathers into the Genomorphs legs causing them to screech in pain.

They both knocked a few Genomorphs backward, before jumping into the battle helping them fight off the other Genomorphs giving them a little time to regroup.

"Wait, you two are on our side now?" Kid Flash asked skeptically.

"Kid, maybe we don't insult the two people that just helped us not get captured?" Artemis pointed out receiving a nod from Kid Flash.

"I'm still not one hundred percent sure on dark and spooky here, but I'm willing to work with you all if it gets us out of here." Supergirl gestured to the Talon.

"I just want us all to get out and we stand a better chance together than we do apart." The Talon said in a voice that sounded slightly familiar to them, but they couldn't quite place it.

"Thank you, I don't know if we would have won without you two. So we work together, for now." Aqualad agreed.

"Fine by me, but I'm keeping an eye on you." Robin said, looking at The Talon who nodded.

"Good, then I won't have to tear him apart alone. Lead the way Birdie." Supergirl said, giving the Talon a slight push forward.

Not bothering to acknowledge the name The Talon set off leading them down the hallways at a sprint.

-With Desmond-

Desmond was panting, as he stood in the center of a control room observing a screen that showed Project Talon, and Supergirl running with the sidekicks towards the elevators.

"No, no no!" He muttered, running a hand nervously through his hair. He knew he had to get this under control, The Talon's betrayal opened the door to the possibility of how the sidekicks had gotten inside. He could figure that out later, for now he had to get things in order fast.

"Release every Genomorph in CADMUS. Bring them in by whatever means necessary." He muttered his Genomorphs eyes and horns glowing.

-With The Team-

The Talon lead them down the halls taking quick turns, as he called back to the others, "We're still fifty-two levels down, but that won't matter as much if we can get to the elevator and-" He began before jumping backward and avoiding being crushed by one of the large creatures they had seen earlier.

They stared finding a squad of four of them roaring at them, and looking back they saw more pods bursting open as more Genomorphs began to approach from behind. Supergirl jumped towards the larger creatures, uppercutting one and knocking it down before another smacked her into a wall. Talon leapt forward landing a kick that surprisingly knocked down the G-Troll away from Supergirl. The others jumped around the other Trolls as a now angry Supergirl stood and began swinging, knocking the Troll into the wall and unloading shots that shook the walls and ceiling.

"Supergirl, we're trying to escape! Not bury ourselves alive!" Artemis called out in frustration.

"I know that!" She called back, seizing one of the downed Trolls and throwing it into the oncoming other two knocking them over, "I'm clearing a path." She added smirking at them as Talon ran to the elevator door and ripped it open.

Robin grabbed Kid Flash and fired a grapple line taking them both upward, followed by Artemis grabbing Aqualad and following with a grapple arrow.

"Hold tight birdie." Supergirl said slinging Talons arm over her shoulder before leaping high into the air to fly up the shaft, only for her to make it several floors up before much to her surprise the two of them began to fall.

"I'm falling!?" She called out in confusion.

Thinking quickly Talon unsheathed a few Feather blades from his wrist stabbing them into the wall and slowing their fall until they were right above the others who had stopped.

"You alright?" He asked Supergirl.

"I'm a Krytonian, I'm supposed to be able to fly here right? Why am I not flying?" She asked as the others helped her and Talon onto a ledge.

"Not sure really." Talon admitted.

"Maybe, it's because you've been underground for so long? I mean Solar Suit or not you can only absorb so much Sunlight down here maybe you're just at low power?" Robin suggested.

"Like a phone?" Kid Flash asked.

"Not how I would put it, but sure." Robin shrugged.

"We'll have to figure that out later, I think this is our stop." Artemis said pointing towards the rapidly descending elevator, they all nodded as Aqualad shoved the doors open and scrambled through just avoiding the elevator. Only to be met with a squad of Genomorph Elves rushing down the hall towards them.

Thinking fast they scrambled down the hallway to their left and started running and that was when Talon heard a familiar voice in his head.

'Turn left brother.' Dubblix said.

'Why are you in my head?' He thought back confused and angry.

'Trust me, go left.'

'If this is a trap, I will make it a point to ruin you before they kill me.'

"Go left!" Talon called out.

'Turn right.'

"Now right!" Talon called out. As they rounded a corner and found themselves staring at a dead end with a vent at the top.

"Great going Birdie, you sure you're on our side?" Supergirl asked angrily.

"Yes, I am! Sorry, maybe we can double back and find another way." he suggested while about to send a mental threat Dubblix's way before Kid Flash spoke up.

"What are you apologizing for, haven't you guys ever seen like any old spy movie or an action movie?" He asked.

"No." Supergirl and Talon said together.

"Oh right, sorry but this is perfect." Kid Flash said, bruising off the awkward moment as if it had been nothing. Aqualad stepped forward, using his water barriers to become a whip and pulling the vent off the wall.

"Get in now." He said bracing as they all scrambled into the ventilation system and began to make their way through them.

"Not that I'm complaining that we haven't been captured, but at this rate we aren't likely to get out of here quick." Artemis muttered.

"It's better than nothing when we get to an exit we can-" Aqualad began.

"Be quiet for a second, do you guys hear that?" Supergirl asked.

"Hear what?" Robin asked as Talon tilted his head before nodding as he heard scurrying down the vent. Evidently they had sent more Genomorphs to try and flush them out.

"Robin, come here a second I have an idea." He said.

-Desmond, Guardian, and Dubblix-

The two men and one Genomorph were sprinting along the halls. Desmond stared at a tablet with wide almost mad eyes as they went.

"Someone, probably our traitorous Talon if I had to guess, hacked our systems deactivating internal security cameras. However, he seems to have missed the motion sensors. The Genomorphs are closing in, they'll be coming out right here. We have them cornered." Desmond said with confidence as he led the other two and a squad of G-Elves into mens room.

'This has been a bad day, but I salvaged all of this. Once we have them captured I'll clone the sidekicks and send them back to the Justice League as sleeper agents. Then I'll get Kr, and Talon contained a few months with the right Genomorphs and they'll both be loyal. Hopefully the board won't be too harsh.' Desmond thought desperately, even beginning to smile as the dots that indicated the problem children neared the vent.

It burst open and out fell…another squad of G-Elves knocking them all to the floor.

"He hacked the motion sensors." Desmond growled.

-With The Team-

"Just for good measure, I hacked the motion sensors too." Robin said.

"Great work Robin!" Artemis said, giving him a quick hug.

"Celebrate later, we still have a lot of them standing between us and out." Talon said looking at Robin's holo computer which showed several dots representing Genomorphs around them.

"Sure, we do but now that we have a clear direction I can go on offense." Kid Flash smirked, pulling down his goggles as Aqualad kicked the stairwell door open.

"By all means." He said stepping to the side as Kid Flash gave an elated laugh before darting through the door and up the stairwell at super speed as the others followed behind him.

As he zoomed up a few floors he saw several G-Elves ahead, but rather than slow down, he sped up slamming into them like a cannonball and knocking them into the wall and over the railings. His friends followed the floor behind them.

"More coming up behind us!" Robin called out, keeping his eyes on his computer as they went up.

"I got it!" Supergirl called back, stopping at the stairs head and stomping her foot causing it to crumble and send the Genomorphs following them falling down into the darkness.

"I'd feel bad for them if they weren't trying to capture us." She muttered before running after the others.

-Inside The Elevator-

Guardian, Dubblix, and an angry Desmond who seemed to be getting more insane by the second were riding the elevator upwards.

"Calm down Doc. We'll cut them off at Sub-level one." Guardian said.

"We'd better, if not the board will have our heads…my head." He muttered, eyes widening before he hit the stop button causing the doors to open up.

"I need to get something from Project Blockbuster, just in case! I'll meet you both at sub-level one!" He called out as the doors slid closed between them.

-The Team Sub-Level One-

Kid Flash burst through the door to Sub-Level one finding it bathed flashing red lights and sirens blaring. He rushed forward rounding a corner and seeing the last staircase to the ground floor as large doors were sliding closed in front of him.

"Oh crap, crap, crap!" He said trying to skid to a halt only to bounce off the door and roll backwards at his friends feet.

"We're cut off from the street." Aqualad muttered.

"Really, what was your first clue?" Kid Flash muttered, rubbing the bruise on his forehead.

Supergirl stepped forward trying to punch the door down, and when that failed she, Talon and Aqualad tried prying it open.

"Too thick!" Supergirl grumbled as the door just barely opened a crack for them.

"I can't hack this fast enough" Robin called out trying everything he could think of to get through and finding no success. He heard grumbling and turned to find two lumber G-Trolls coming around the corner growling.

Artemis kicked the nearest door open, "Through here!" She called out as they scrambled through into another hall. Down a few feet and found Guardian waiting for them surrounded by several Genomorphs. They glanced down each hall and found themselves surrounded on all sides. They all got ready to fight their way out,only for all the small GNomes eyes and horns to glow causing them all to collapse falling to the ground nearly unconscious.

"No, not like this too close…" Talon muttered looking at the others and trying to get back to his feet.

'Perhaps for the good of all Genomorphs, our brother Talon would be allowed to make up his own mind.' Dubblix's voice said in his head as Talon turned to face the emerging blue skinned Genomorph.

'Dubblix, you?' He thought confused.

'Yes brother, I set the fire that lured your new friends into Cadmus. Ensured that Desmond would let you go to investigate the break in with Guardian believing you would finally be able to free project Kr, with their help…'

'And then guided me to help us stay ahead of all them. Why?'

'Because, you are our hope, the Genomorph Hero. You will blaze a trail for all of our brothers to follow, showing us the way to freedom.'

Talon looked around glancing at all the Genomorphs as the Gnome on Guardian's shoulder jumped down and his new friends started to rise. He had never thought of the Genomorphs that way like brothers, but then perhaps he should have. They had all been created here. To serve someone else's "greater purpose." Maybe if he hadn't been so convinced that Dubbilex was on their side he could have gotten himself and Supergirl out sooner, maybe he could have gotten rid of the nightmares. For now though he couldn't let himself dwell on what if, it wouldn't do any good.

"What's going on? Feels like a fog's lifting." Guardian muttered, bringing a hand to his helmeted head.

'What is your choice brother?' Dubbilex thought to him.

"Do you really have to ask? I choose freedom." Talon said aloud with conviction. Dubbilex nodded as Talon's friends rose to their feet groggy but alright.

"Guardian? Are you okay?" Artemis asked skeptically.

"Better than I have been in a long time. Go, I'll deal with Desmond." Guardian said seriously.

"I don't think so." A voice said from behind him and Guardian turned the Genomorphs parting to see a crazed Desmond holding a glowing blue vial.

"I should have known you both were too weak! No matter, Project Blockbuster will give me the power I need to restore order to CADMUS!" He declared before downing the entire vial.

Desmond began to groan, as Guardian backed up to stand beside them all falling to his hands and knee's groaning and writhing.

"Don't suppose we got lucky enough he took himself down?" Supergirl asked.

No sooner had she said it then Desmond began to warp. His body bulged, muscle mass expanding tearing his clothes away. That wasn't all though his eyes became bright red with Black Sclera. His skin itself seemed to start tearing away in ribbons replaced by dark blue scale-like skin with red veins running through it as bits of his old skin seemed to hang off him. His face and skull warping to be more of a humanoid lizard in appearance. His hands and feet became claws. And then it was over and a roaring snarling beast stood before them.

It roared again as Guardian stood between them and said, "Stay back!" He ordered leaping at the creature who caught him and threw him aside like a toy.

"Oh I have been waiting to hit you!" Talon said producing feather blades from his forearms to cover his hands making them mace-like as he jumped in landing several punches and staggering the brute. Blockbuster roared knocking Talon aside, who flipped in mid air planting his feet on the wall and springing back at the creature with a roar of his own as Blockbuster met him in mid air and tackled them both through the roof and into Cadmus' public lobby.

"Well, that's one way to get to the ground floor." Artemis muttered.

"Think lab coat planned it that way?" Kid Flash asked, grabbing onto Robin as he and Artemis grappled through the hole.

"Somehow, I doubt he's planning much of anything anymore." Aqualad said.

"Tell me about it." Supergirl agreed as they jumped through the hole themselves.

Talon managed to break the beast's grip, landing another shot that actually drew blood. Blockbuster roared, grabbing him by the face and sending him flying into the rest of them. As they all got to their feet Blockbuster roared as if daring them to attack. A dare which they all accepted.

Kid Flash rushed in and as Blockbuster swung at him he shifted sliding beneath the mass of muscle's legs. The creature seemed to follow him before turning its head back to the others only to be met with Supergirl and Talons fists colliding with his face. It staggered only to be hit in the face with Aqualads water mace toppling over Kid Flash who had acted as a platform. It hit the ground, shaking the building a bit.

"Oldest trick in the book." Kid Flash said, shaking his head as Artemis and Robin jumped over him firing arrows and batarangs at Blockbuster who knocked them aside and got to his feet. Only to find Supergirl glaring down at him. Blockbuster roared, tackling her into one of the nearby beams; she hit him twice before Blockbuster slammed his fist into her face, dazing her.

As he went to hit her again a water whip and black cable wrapped around his free arm. He turned his head to see Aqualad and Talon each pulling on his arm. He jerked his arm forward pulling them towards himself. Both boys shifted Aqualad slamming his knee into Blockbusters face and Talon his foot into its ribs. As Aqualad landed on the beam he jumped off coming down with a water mace. Blockbuster caught it before slamming Aqualad into Talon causing the floor beneath them to crack on impact.

He then turned, throwing Supergirl into Artemis just as she fired two explosive arrows that blew up against his skin like nothing as the two girls tumbled over. Kid Flash rushed in landing several punches in just a matter of seconds, though it seemed to annoy Blockbuster rather than damage him. As he rushed in again Blockbuster snagged him using his momentum to hurl Kid Flash into Aqualad who had just gotten to his feet.

Talon growled, getting to his feet just in time for Blockbuster to slam him through a pillar and into the other one behind it. Holding him against it he punched Talon again causing one of the lenses of his mask to fall out revealing a bright blue eye before he was punched again. The rooftop shaking, as from a few feet away Robin was thinking.

'Direct attacks aren't really working, we'll have to take him down somehow. Come on Tim think!' He thought as Blockbuster punched Talon again causing the roof to shake, 'That's it!' He thought smirking as he brought up a schematic of the floor they were standing on.

"Artemis, Aqualad, Kid Flash come here!" He called out.

Meanwhile, just as Blockbuster was about to hit Talon again, Supergirl slammed into his back. Wrapping her arms as close to around the beast's thick head and neck as she could. Blockbuster threw down Talon and grabbed her with both hands slamming her through another pillar.

Robin meanwhile had shown the other three his plan, "Got it?" He asked, receiving nods.

"Then let's do this." He said as Aqualad headed to a nearby pillar and smashed through it and Artemis fired her last two arrows into another. Kid Flash ran at near full speed jumping before landing a hit that made Blockbuster face him as he landed holding a bit of the doctors old skin.

"Ew, I think I accidentally scalped him." Kid Flash said, throwing the bit of skin down and trying to wipe his glove off on his pant leg. Blockbuster roared, throwing down Supergirl and giving chase to Kid Flash.

"Supergirl, Talon." Robin called out, showing them each what they needed to do, "That one and that one!" He said pointing to two pillars as Supergirl smashed through hers in one hit while Talon smashed through his own in a few.

"Come here you Lizard, Snake Dinosaur thing!?" Kid Flash taunted as Blockbuster swung for him smashing another pillar as he missed.

"Missed me, missed me now you gotta-actually nevermind you're not my type." Kid Flash said darting away as Blockbuster followed him right into the X that Robin had drawn on the floor.

Kid Flash skidded to a halt on the ground that Aqualad had soaked. Just as Blockbuster neared him Supergirl threw Talon at him and Talon backhanded the beast, his hands still covered in feather blades knocking the beast flat on his back. Before Blockbuster could get to his feet Aqualad smacked the wet ground sending electricity coursing through it. Blockbuster roared in rage and pain too stunned to move.

"Go, go, go!" Robin called out as they all noticed the bombs he had planted on the remaining pillars and ran for it as they exploded as the ceiling right over Blockbuster began to cave in followed by the rest of it.

Realizing they were not going to make it out, Supergirl, Talon, and Aqualad covered Artemis, Flash and Robin as with all their might.

CRASH!

The roof came down just as in the distance several fireworks went off celebrating the fourth of July.

For a moment there was nothing but the sound of Fireworks going off in the distance. Then the rubble shook and the teens stood. Those that had guarded the others were pushing the rubble off all of their suits and costumes torn up, but apart from some bruises and scrapes and a little bleeding they were all okay.

"We…did it." Aqualad said, smiling at the others.

"You ever…had a doubt?" Artemis asked.

"Yeah…we're awesome." Kid Flash said high fiving Artemis and Robin before all three of them groaned in pain.

Meanwhile Talon had walked over and stood in front of the downed Blockbuster letting out a breath as he stared up at the night sky. For the first time in his life he felt free. And he wanted to enjoy that for however long it lasted. Supergirl too stared up at the moon hanging large in the sky and smiled a little as she clutched the locket around her neck.

"Look out Kal here I come." She said with conviction only to notice something dotted against the sky or rather someone. A muscular blue and red clad figure. Her eyes widened, the Genomorphs had put Superman in her head, and she knew it had to be someone in her family that was their crest after all, but she hadn't expected to meet him this fast.

"Guys, I think we have company." She called out as several dots appeared in the sky.

Superman landed first, followed by Red Tornado, Zatanna and Zatara each Floating on a platform. Gliding beside them was Martian Manhunter, and Shazam. No sooner had they landed, then Hawkwoman, Wonder Woman and Captain Atom all landed as well. Then on a platform made from green energy from John Stewart's Green Lantern ring, were Batman, Flash, Jinx, Black Canary and Green Arrow. And Last appearing from a swirl of black bird shaped energy, were Nightwing, Starfire, Beast Boy, Cyborg, Tempest and Raven.

"Oh we have got some explaining to do." Kid Flash muttered.

"Yes, you do." Superman began before Kara sprang forward and hugged him.

"Uncle Jor-El! It's you! I know it's hard to believe but it's me Kara! I made it to Earth safeish I got captured, but these guys helped me out. I didn't expect to find you here, though I thought you only had a ship big enough for Kal!? Not that I'm not happy to see you of course, but does this mean aunty Lara got out too? Is Kal okay? What about…" She was speaking faster and more excitedly than her new friends had ever seen her.

However, a briefly stunned Superman had managed to regain his composure and pulled her off holding her at arm's length.

"I think you need to calm down a moment, Kara, was it? I'm not Jor-El if we're going by Krytonian names, I'm his son Kal-El." Superman said gently.

Kara's jaw dropped. She was stunned for a moment, and then spoke in a shaking voice, "No, you can't be Kal! Kal is a baby barely older than a year old. I was supposed to take care of him once we got to Earth after Krypton exploded. I may not have gotten the swing of things on this planet but I was only captured there for like a year down here! How can you be Kal!? Unless…how long was I stasis before they found me!?" She muttered, eyes widening as she tried to process what she had been told.

Meanwhile a few feet away Talon could hear his heart beating in his ears. As he stared at Nightwing, he was nervous. More nervous than he could ever remember being.

'Why do I feel so nervous?' He thought to himself trying to bring his breathing under control even though he knew the answer because it was Nightwing. Because as soon as he knew what he was, he was bond to hate him as he had all the right to Talon began to back away

'Maybe, I can slip away. I mean we don't have to talk right now, maybe they'll all be too busy too.' He stopped walking as he felt himself bump into something. Looking over his shoulder he found Batman staring down at him.

"Uh, hi Mr. Batman sir." He said awkwardly rubbing the back of his head.

"You're a Talon." Batman said it wasn't a question, it was more of a statement.

"Yes, I am a Talon."

"So the Court of Owls is real? Were they behind this facility?" Batman asked.

"Yes they are real, or rather they were, they're kinda dead now. The real people behind this place saw to that. Made me help with it." He admitted.

"Who was behind it?" Batman asked.

"I don't know everyone, I only know Ra's." He admitted and Batman's eyes widened for a split second.

"Who exactly are you, and why were you been staring at me since I got here?" A new voice asked as Talon spun round his eyes landing on Nightwing now on his right side.

"Well, uh I…it's just hard to meet you here now, or at all he admitted."

"Oh come on kid I know I'm good looking but that;s a bit much isn't it?" Nightwing chuckled.

"No, it's not that… it's- I thought I wouldn't have to meet you this soon. I wasn't ready."

"Why not? Answer his question, who exactly are you?" Batman asked, narrowing his eyes.

"I really don't think you want to know that, right here." Talon said.

"Trust me kid we can handle it." Nightwing said.

Talon swallowed, letting out a breath. He reached up and pressed the back of his helmet. There was a rush of air that drew his new friend's attention and it loosened on his head. He reached up with shaking hands and removed it. Medium length black hair framed his face. His skin is a bit paler than most due to a lifetime of either going out at night or covered most of the time. Expressive blue eyes, stared up at Nightwing who stared back at his own face years younger.

"I told you, you might not want to do this here." Talon said, staring at a stunned Nightwing as his friends and the original Titans jaws dropped.
