Time I make a little return, no? Anyhow, quick heads up, I plan to release a new Arnda one-shot soon enough, hopefully within the week at least... Anyways, enjoy!
Hours Later
It was hours after Arnold saw his parents for the first time in so long. He was currently up in his room and sitting on his bed, mainly thinking about how crazy it was.
Meanwhile, at the Lloyds, Rhonda was currently trying out different necklaces before her next date with Arnold.
Brooke soon walked in. "Hey there, honey. Trying on a necklace before your next date with your Romeo?" She teased.
Rhonda merely rolled her eyes. "Mom…"
"Oh, I'm just messing with you! You know I fully support you and Arnold together! Certainly better than your last God-awful choices." She rolled her eyes.
Rhonda shrugged. "I guess you're right on that. I mean, one of them ruined a sweater of mine, and they were mainly simpletons to be fair."
Brooke then smiled and crouched beside her daughter. "You know, the faster you get to bed, the faster you get to see him tomorrow." She smirked.
Rhonda only blushed.
"How you doin', Shortman?" Grandpa walked into Arnold's room. He only shrugged. "Still shocked about earlier? I understand you." He soon sat down beside him.
"It's been a long time since I last saw my son, Miles, and I honestly gave up hope at one point, but you kept the faith all this time, and well, there they are! Currently downstairs in the living room together." Grandpa put a hand on Arnold's shoulder.
"I honestly don't even know how to react. It honestly feels so surreal right now." Arnold replied. Stella then came up the stairs and knocked on his door.
"How's my big boy doing?" She smiled. Arnold looked over at his mom. She walked over and soon approached her son. "Honey, this is all true, we're really back." She had her hand on his knee. "I know we've been gone for so long, but we're willing to make it up to you."
Stella soon got up to hug her son. "I love you so much, sweetheart, I couldn't stand another moment apart." Stella kissed his forehead four times.
"I love you more, Mom." Arnold hugged her and smiled.
Grandpa Phil smiled at them as he slowly got up and started walking away.
After a few seconds, Arnold soon looked at his Mother. "Hey, Mom? I know I'm not a baby anymore and all that but uh… Could you maybe sleep with me tonight? I- I've been having nightmares recently and I'd honestly feel a little better if you could sleep with me knowing you guys are back?" Arnold nervously asked.
Stella smiled and ran her hand through his hair. "Anything to assure you we're really back, sweetie." She kissed his forehead.
"Thanks, Mom." Arnold rested his head against her. Stella only smiled while slowly rubbing his back.
Later
It was near Arnold's bedtime, he was already in his pajamas as he was sitting around on his bed again, mainly looking around his room.
Stella walked in with a simple red shirt and pajama pants. "Something troubling you, sweetie?" She soon sat next to him.
Arnold exhaled. "Well, I can't really say that, but I'm still shocked about you guys being home."
"Oh, sweetie…" Stella pulled him into a hug. "Hey. Let's get some sleep now, okay? By the time you wake up, you'll really know your Dad and I are back." She smiled.
Arnold then smiled as well. "Alright. I love you, Mom." Arnold kissed her cheek and kept hugging her.
"I love you more, sweetheart." Stella smiled while rubbing his back.
Soon, they let go of one another. Arnold started to crawl into his bed. Once he got comfortable, Stella settled herself near him so he could feel a lot more comfortable and safer with her.
"Goodnight, Arnold." Stella kissed his cheek.
"Goodnight, Mom." He had a small smile on his face.
The Next Morning
It was around seven in the morning, and the shine shined inside his room, with another day awaiting.
Stella and Arnold were sound asleep together until Stella soon woke up with the sun shining near them.
She soon looked at his alarm clock which didn't go off yet.
"Welp, he has school, unfortunately." She lightly shrugged. She then lightly shook Arnold to wake him up. "Oh, Arnold… Wakey wakey, sweetie…" She lightly kissed his cheek. "Wake up, sweetie…" She tried to softly wake him.
After a minute, Arnold soon blinked his eyes open. He was facing away from her while he slept. He immediately looked over and saw a beautiful sight. His mother.
"Mom!" Arnold immediately sat up to hug her. Stella smiled. "Still having those nightmares about us being gone?" She stroked his hair.
Arnold only nodded as he hugged her. "Oh, sweetheart…" Stella kissed his forehead. "Sweetie, you remember you have school today, right?"
Arnold yelped. "I may have forgotten about that…" He replied.
"Tell you what. After school, we're gonna spend the whole day together! Dad, me, and you." Stella smiled.
Arnold smiled as well. "Sounds perfect, Mom!" He tightly hugged her.
"Alright, hun, I'm not gonna waste your time now. Go get ready for school." She kissed his face.
Later
"Have a great day at school, Arnold. We love you so much." Miles hugged him. "I love you guys." Arnold smiled.
Stella kneeled. "We love you, sweetie." Stella kissed him several times.
"I love you too, Mom." He lightly chuckled while hugging her.
After Arnold let go, he looked back at them one more time. Miles smiled at him while Stella blew him a kiss.
He smiled and soon walked out.
He met up with Gerald outside. "Yo, what's good with you?" They did their special handshake.
"My parents are back."
"What?"
"Gerald, I'm telling you, my parents are actually back!" Arnold started as they were walking along. "My Mom and Dad are finally back after years! Do you have any idea how I even feel?" He asked, rather excitedly.
"I sure know how someone will be feeling very shortly."
"What?" Arnold looked at him. "Did you forget about your girlfriend?" Gerald asked.
Arnold paused as he literally didn't remember at all.
"Oh! Right… I- I have a girlfriend?"
Gerald blankly stared at him. "No way you're serious…"
"I mostly am! I- I just forgot about her since it's been so long since I saw my parents, you know? Besides, it can't be that big of a deal!" Arnold shrugged it off.
"I highly doubt you'll be saying that when it comes to a Lloyd." Gerald merely rolled his eyes.
Arnold didn't even bother answering as all he thought about was his parents.
After a few minutes, they arrived at their school. P.S.118.
"Where is he?" Rhonda tapped her foot impatiently. "Come on, Rhonda, just be a little patient, I'm sure he'll be happy to see once he gets-"
"Arnold!" Rhonda interrupted Nadine as she finally found her boyfriend. She ran up to him and hugged him tightly. "Arnold! Sweetie! There you are! Mmmwah!" Rhonda gave a big kiss on Arnold's lips.
"He- Hey, Rhonda." Arnold gave a nervous smile and slowly hugged her.
"That girl is one lovesick puppy." Nadine smirked at her best friend. "Oh, believe me, Arnold can be more lovesick than her." Gerald smirked at Nadine.
"Bet on it?" Nadine kept smirking. "Bet on it!" Gerald shook her hand.
They soon looked over to find them kissing one another passionately. Rhonda soon separated from Arnold and had a flirty look, while Arnold had a goofy smile and remembered everything now.
Rhonda then smiled while she cupped his face. "How much do you love me?" She asked and giggled. "I- I love yo- you…" Arnold smiled.
"Arnold one, Rhonda zero." Gerald snickered. "Ok, but let's be fair here. Arnold is way more gullible to being a lovesick puppy." Nadine crossed her arms.
Gerald merely chuckled as they started to walk inside together, with their hands just barely touching…
"So, are we still on for a date?" Rhonda asked. "Yeah, I uh- I just need to talk to a friend of mine later today, but I'm set for our date!"
"Great! Now come on! We're gonna be late!" Rhonda yanked his hand so they could walk to class together.
After they walked inside, eyes from a bush were seen. They soon stepped out.
"That stupid princess Rhondaloid thinks she can steal away that football head! I couldn't hear where they are having their date, but they can't hide for long!" None other than Helga.
"I'll see you in class?" Arnold asked his girlfriend while they held hands. "Can't we at least walk into the classroom together and then you can go find Helga before the bell rings?" Rhonda asked while she had her puppy eyes.
"I really need to find her before-"
The bell rang.
"Come on, slowpoke!" She yanked his hand.
They soon walked into the classroom with everyone chatting away and being as noisy as ever.
Mr. Simmons walked in and passed by Arnold and Rhonda.
"Alright, class, settle down! I want your attention for a minute." He said. The class soon went quiet. "Arnold, please close the door, will you?"
He nodded and closed the classroom door. "Alright, class. Last night, I've been thinking about seating assignments, but not for everyone." Mr. Simmons soon grabbed a sheet of paper that had the new seating chart.
"If I call your name, I want you to stand up." He started to look at the paper. "Sid. Nadine. Rhonda. Helga. And Stinky."
The kids who had their names called stood up, except for Rhonda who was already standing.
"Rhonda, I want you to sit where Sid was, behind Arnold." Mr. Simmons pointed.
"With pleasure!" She chirpily replied and walked to her new seat.
"Nadine, I want you to sit where Stinky was, behind Phoebe. Sid, behind Sheena. Helga is behind Harold. And Stinky, your seat is next to Helga." Mr. Simmons finished.
Everyone soon went to their new seats, while Arnold got to sit in front of his girlfriend.
"Looks like I get to sit behind your adorable head." Rhonda lightly poked Arnold's back. He only smiled while looking behind him.
A Few Hours Later
It was time for recess, most of the other kids had already stormed out outside, while Arnold and Rhonda were holding hands inside.
"Just make it quick, will you?" She kissed Arnold. "I'll find Helga and talk to her. I'll be out quick. I promise." Arnold held up her hands and kissed them.
Rhonda sighed lovingly. "I love you, Arnold." She kissed his lips. Arnold smiled. "I love you too, Rhonda." Arnold caressed her cheek and pulled her into a kiss.
