Chapter 15.
"Daddy, where will I be sleeping? I don't even see any rooms for me to sleep" Nashi asked looking around and stepping away from Lucy. Crossing her arms, she gave a saddened expression to her parents turning her head to them. "Iggy, what's wrong sweetheart, you were fine just a minute ago" "I want..to go home. To our beds..and to our tree's" One look at her face told Natsu and Lucy she was trying to put on a brave face and stop herself from crying. Natsu walked over to her and squatted down in front of her. With a deep sigh, he said "Iggy, I know you want to go home. Believe me baby dragon, we all want too. We just..we have to hold out for a while. I promise you though that we will go home" "Back to our house?" "yes"
"Our tree, our lake!" "Yes Iggy" "And Fairy Tail!?" "Yes.,especially Fairy Tail..but for now..can you be my big girl dragon?" "Yes daddy, yes" With smiles on their faces, she jumped into his arms hugging him as hard as she could. "Alright, why don't you and Happy go see if you can find rooms for you to sleep in huh? Your mom and I will be right behind you in a second" Nodding, and seeing Happy waiting for her, she grabbed his hand, and they went off to look. "I already know what you're thinking. Don't even have to say it Luce" he muttered hearing her slow footsteps behind him."
"Good cause we both know you can't be sure you'll be able to keep that promise Natsu. You said so yourself that you don't know how long we're going to be stuck here and then you go and say that" Heated some, she walked over and stood in front of Natsu having him look her right in the face. "Well!, Natsu, you have never broken a promise, not in all these years. I know that, Happy knows that. Hell our whole guild family knows that But Nash-Iggy, she doesn't completely understand. No, you have never broken a promise to her but this..this..Natsu..we can't know the impact it would have on her if you can't keep your promise on this" Putting her hands to her face, her voice cracked some. "I didn't want to cry, damn it. I didn't" she thought as Natsu took a step and hugged her close to him letting her rest on his chest.
"We'll get through this Luce. Im giving my word to you and Nashi. I have never broken a promise. I'm not about to start now." She looked up to see him giving her a toothy grin causing her to laugh and wipe her tears away. "There's a smile I like to see, now come on. I'm sure Iggy and Happy are wondering where we're at" "Right" "Daddyyy" "Speaking of baby dragons," Holding hands, they went to where they heard their baby calling.
"What is it Iggy?" Lucy asked when they stopped in front of her. Staring at what was in front of her made her drop her a jaw a bit. "Luce, did you expect.." "No.. not in a million years did I expect this" She walked over to the bedroom that Nashi had stopped in front of to find the beds intact and with sheets folded and a closet across the bed.
"Whoever these people were that lived in this bunker, they kept it in good shape. I doubt they had a kid in mind cause I don't see a room for kids but then again, we haven't seen everything in this place" "Natsu, just how big do you think this place is?" "Heyyyyy" "Coming Happy" Grabbing Nashi's hand, they walked into what appeared to be another bedroom but different than the one they came across a few minutes ago.
"How in the hell did they get a kids room in this place" A bed with a child's pink horse blanket was laid across with pillows set up like it was ready to be slept in any moment.
"Iggy,..I think we found your room baby girl. What do you think?" "I like it mommy. I can get used to this as my bed" Breathing a collective sigh of relief, Lucy and Natsu left Nashi to get comfortable in her new bedroom. "Natsu..this is great and all that we found bedrooms and places to sleep but what about what to cook and food" "Don't worry happy, I'll make sure to go get us some food. We won't starve here."
"That's right and Natsu's going to teach me how" " You got it" "Feel better some now Happy?" "My stomach doesn't but it does make me feel better being here" Picking him up, Lucy set him on her lap where he purred and settled down into her lap"
