Chapter 3

Stormy never had a problem falling asleep. All her life her sisters made fun of her for being able to sleep in the most random places.

Somehow the storm witch felt she was laying in a bed. She didn't know how she got there in the first place, but in that moment she didn't care about the how and just enjoyed the comfort of the bed. When a really unpleasant smell tore her out of her comfort.

'Oh my god….What ist that smell…that is disgusting….Someone should have that checked out.' She opened her eyes.

It took her a minute until her eyes adjusted to the lights. On a bed across from her she could see Addy looking at her 'Did you have a good nap?' She was holding an ice pack to her head.

Before Stormy could give her an answer someone coughed next to her.

'Ewww…Flora..What is that….That is…ewww' The flower fairy held a tiny container under Stellas nose. The blonde girl immediately turned her head away from the smell, making her look directly at Stormy. 'What is she doing here?'

The storm witch looked at the two fairies and then she looked out the window and back at Addy.

'Yep…. We're in Alfea.'

'I am going to ask you again. What were you doing in that apartment building ?'

No answer

'We know you didn't start the attack. Do you know who did?'

Silence

'Your sister got hurt. And that girl you were with had to get stiches. Just tell us what you know?'

Nothing

'This is ridiculous they are never going to talk.'

For the past two hours now Musa, Tecna , Layla and Miss Faragonda have been questioning Icy and Darcy. Knowing after the building collapsed the two of them wouldn't have had a chance to compete against the fairies they had to give in. Icy decided to remain silent and Darcy followed her lead. Now they were sitting in Faragondas office when Griselda came in.

'I just wanted to inform you, that both Stella and Stormy are alright. Flora managed to wake them up.'

The three fairies and two witches were clearly relieved.

'Thank you Griselda. Did you find out who the girl is?' Faragonda asked

'No. She is talking to us but hasn't told us her name. Apparently the Trix and her didn't have anything to do with the attack. We are still trying to get more out of her. Oh and Miss Griffin informed me she will be here shortly.' She turned around and left the room again.

'Winx, do you know when Bloom will be back?' Faragonda asked the fairies.

That is the first time both sisters noticed the absence of the fire fairy. They don't even remember if they had seen her at the apartment building.

'She said she would be here as soon as she could.' Layla answered.

The door opened again and Miss Griffin entered the office. She gave a surprised glance at the Trix and walked over to Faragonda before directly addressing Icy and Darcy.

'Last time I saw you witches there were three of you. Where is Stormy?'

Both witches just stared at the floor.

'I asked you a question!' Griffin tried again.

'We have been trying to get them to talk for two hours now.' Layla said.

'Sooner or later they will have to talk. We just have to annoy them enough.' A voice said, that made Icy roll her eyes. Bloom entered the room and was immediately welcomed by her friends.

'Bloom! How are things on Domino?' Musa asked and hugged the red haired fairy.

'Great. But I am happy to be back.'

…Wait…Domino…That made Icy look up. Darcy looked confused as well.

'Would you look at that…finally a reaction from the two of you' Of course Griffin had been watching them. 'Without you three bothering us we finally managed to safe Domino and get rid of your ancestors. I'm surprised you didn't know. ' Griffin explained.

'We were busy trying not to get caught by you!' Darcy was the first of them to break the silence. Confusion was visible in the faces of the Winx. In that moment Icy just wanted to disappear.

'Why would we be trying to find you. In the past two years you perfectly managed on your own to run back into us. We just had to wait.' Tecna said

'Who told you we were looking for you?' Faragonda wanted to know

'Addy said….'

'Is Addy the girl in the infirmary?' Faragonda asked

Darcy got quiet again.

'Miss Faragonda? We are having a little situation in the infirmary.' Griselda came back in. 'Stella and Stormy seem to have a hard time being in the same room together and started attacking each other with spells.'

'Musa, Tecna, Layla take Darcy with you and see if you can manage to calm them down.' Faragonda said before looking at Darcy 'Right now we are not your enemies. We just want to know what happened earlier. So I am asking you to calm your sister down. We don't want anyone getting hurt.' Darcy nodded and left the room with the three fairies and Griselda. Only Bloom, Griffin, Faragonda and Icy remained in the office.

Suddenly Icy stood up and walked up to Faragondas desk. She took a piece of paper and a pen and wrote something down. Before going back to her chair

'Addy has nothing to do with this. That is her brothers phone number. He should pick her up.' Icy didn't look at anyone.

'Darko Black is her brother? That explains your connection to the girl. Didn't you used to go out with him?' Griffin said looking at the name and the number Icy had written down.

No answer.

'It was much easier to get inside Obsidian than it is to get inside her head' Bloom muttered to herself. That sentence got her attention

''You were in Obsidian?' Icy asked looking at the redhead for the first time

'We destroyed it.' Bloom said looking at the ice witch as well. The fairy looked proud of herself.

'Before or after defeating the ancestral witches?' Icy continued

'That wasn't necessary. Obsidian exploding is what ultimately destroyed them.' Bloom replied smirking

Icy laughed at that. Things were about to get complicated.

'What's so funny?' Bloom wanted to know

Icy didn't answer. She reached into her pocket and put something on the table.

'Miss Griffin, could you maybe explain to us what I just put down in front of you' Icy said

'A summoning coin…It was used by witches to communicate with others. I haven't seen one in years.' Griffin said looking down on the object. ' The last witches to use them were the ancestral witches. They looked exactly like this one.'

''Touch it.' Icy requested. Griffin gave her a look. 'Go on.' The ice witch prompted.

The headmistress of Cloudtower took the coin 'It feels like..like.. it's still active. It has been active for quite some time. You didn't answer.'

'What does that mean?' Bloom wanted to know

'That….dear Bloom…means you and your friends did a terrible job at killing the ancestral witches. You just set them free by destroying their prision. They could be anywhere.' Icy explained.

Bloom got really pale and turned towards the two headmistresses 'She is lying, right?'

'I really want to say yes. But this..' Griffin held up the coin '..tells me she is telling the truth. You can't fake something like this.'

'You said she didn't answer, Griffin?' Faragonda asked her colleague. Griffin nodded 'You were the target, weren't you, Icy. You didn't answer their calls and disrespect them and now they're after you. Why did you ignore them?''

Silence

'If you don't cooperate now we will be forced to make you and your sisters leave Alfea. How long do you think it will take until they find you ?' Faragonda never sounded so intimidating. She made her point very clear.

'You're like a lighthouse in the middle of a desert: bright, but not a lot of use.'

'And you look like you put a wet finger inside a socket. Seriously….how are you able to brush through that hair'

'How dare you..you..you silly goose.'

'What did you just call me! Wait till I get you'

Once the Winx and Darcy were able to separate Stella and Stormy , the fighting stopped. The room looked like a warzone. Now they were insulting each other from where they stood in the room.

'Can we just be quiet for a moment, please. Insulting each other is not getting us anywhere.' Flora tried to settle the situation. She was standing in the middel of the room. 'How about we sit down and talk about it in a civil way.'

'Civil isn't even part of their vocabulary.' Stella replied and looked at both Trix.

'Oh my…what happened here?' Bloom walked into the infirmary followed by the two headmistresses and Icy.

'Finally. Can we please get out of here? I don't think I can take these two bickering childrens anymore ' Addy said. She was still sitting on the bed with the ice pack.

'I gave them Darkos number. He is on his way to pick you up.' Icy told the girl. Addy was about to rant about it but Icy gave her a look that stopped her.

' What prison are we going to visit this time. Fortress of light? Omega? I personally vote for Omega. We didn't really get to spent a lot of time there.' Stormy wanted to know.

'Your so called 'prison' will be much worse than that' Griffin said smirking

' We're staying in Alfea.' Icy didn't even have to look at her sisters to know what their facial expressions looked like right now. She was sure they were about to say their opinion, so were the Winx before Faragonda spoke up.

'The decision is already made. The four of us..' Faragonda pointed at Griffin, Bloom and Icy and herself '…have come to an agreement.'

Bloom looked at her friends 'When we destroyed Obsidian we didn't kill Belladonna, Liliss and Tharma they were set free. We..' Bloom looked back and forth between the Winx and the Trix '… need to figure out a way to kill them once and for all.'

'I don't see how that is our problem?' Darcy wanted to know.

No answer

'If I had a secret..well…now would be a great time to reveal it.' Addy said and Icy rolled her eyes.

'Icy?' Stormy was frowning at her sister.

' I ignored a direct order from our ancestors.' Icy reluctantly answered ' It is quite possible they were behind the attack.'

''Are you crazy. What are you talking about. Why would you do something like that and not tell us.' Darcy shouted at her her sister. It was bizarre. Darcy was normally the calm one.

'To be fair, I thought they were trapped in Obsidian without a way to get to us. I didn't know these idiots would set them free.' Icy replied pointing at the Winx. For a moment no one said anything before Icy continued. 'After the ancestral witches, Darkar and Valtor I just….I…I was done following orders. If I would have answered them, if we would have gone back to Obsidian, they would have just given us new orders or worse punished us for leaving Valtor like that.'

'We are a team…we are sisters…you don't just get to make decisions like that on your own.' The disappointment in Darcys voice was obvious.

'Miss Faragonda, Mr. Black is here to pick up his sister.' Griselda entered the infirmary, closely followed by Darko.

'Put on your shoes we are leaving.' Darko said addressing Addy.

' Aren't you not even going to ask me if I am alright' Addy replied and stood up.

'You are awake and breathing and able to stand up without falling over. I would say you are quite alright. Come on let's go.' Darko already made is way back to the door and without turning around said 'Can I talk to you for a minute?' She knew he was talking to her, she didn't have to see him to know that. Taking a deep breath Icy followed him outside.

'I thought I made it clear the last time. I never cared about who you are working for. I knew those witches had you on a tight leash and it never bothered me. But I told you neither Addy nor me will assist you in your bidding. You tried to recruit her once before on your stupid quest for the dragonflame. How dare you try to drag her into your mess again.'

Darko was furious he was walking up and down the hallway. Icy was leaning against the wall. She didn't say anything and just let him talk. It was true. She did try to get Addy to help them get the dragonflame. Darko didn't like that. His father had only been dead for a few weeks at that time and he was now responsible for his little sister. There was a lot of pressure on him. They had a huge fight that day. It was the last time they had seen each other.

'Addy offered to help-' Icy wanted to say something

'No, I am not finished.' Darko interrupted her. 'You should be ashamed. We both had a job to do and agreed we wouldn't drag the other person in when it got serious between us. You would have started the next ice age if I would've asked Darcy or Stormy to help me with one of my businesses.' Darko ended his outburst directly in front of her. He was almost a head taller than her. Icy avoided his gaze. 'You can't even look at me right now. Izzy, what happened to the girl - '

'from the orphanage?' Icy finished his sentence for him and looked directly in to his eyes 'Or do you mean the little princess I used to be.'

'You remember.' Darko whispered

'So do you.' Icy quietly. They were still really close and could feel the breath of the other.

''Darko? She didn't ask for my help. I offered them to stay in the apartment. You would have done the same.' Addy stood in the doorway looking at both of them.

'How much did you hear in there ?' Icy asked and turned her head towards the other girl

'I put up a spell that made the room soundproof when it got personal.' Icy nodded at that and looked back at Darko.

'Faragonda will most likely bulit a protective shield around Alfea soon. You should hurry if you don't want to be stuck in here.' Icy walked over to Addy and put a hand on her shoulder ' Thank you for letting us stay. And sorry for…you know…the explosions'

'Don't worry. I'll send you the bill.'

Icy walked back into the infirmary and closed the door. Addy looked over to her brother ' You're an idiot.'
