Chapter 7

' So your spell didn't work.' Darko said. Faragonda asked him to stay in her office. It would have been suspicious for a boy to be at this school at this hour.

'Are you even listening? The spell worked perfectly. The problem was that none of them is the spy.' Addy replied.

'Where is Faragonda?' Darko wanted to know.

'After breakfast a few of the parents arrived at school and demanded to talk to her. Faragonda is trying to settle the situation.' Tecna replied

The Winx and the Trix, together with Addy all returned back to the headmistress' office. Faragonda said she would be with them shortly.

'No one except us and everyone in Alfea knows about them being in this school.' Darko pointed at the Trix.

'Sky knows as well. He told Brandon, Riven, Helia and Timmy . But Griffin and Faragonda know about that.' Bloom said.

' My name was mentioned in the news. If you didn't tell him about me he had nothing to do with it.' Addy reassured Bloom.

'We could have told you that no one in Alfea works for the ancestral witches. Why didn't you just inform us about your suspicions.' Musa asked.

' Because they thought it was one of us. I can't believe I am the only one to figure that out. ' Darcy spoke up.

'What!'

'Why would you even consider that?'

'This is ridiculous'

'It does seem like a logical conclusion' Tecna said

'Which side are you on, Tecna?'

'How about we all try to calm down. Fighting isn't going to get us anywhere.' Flora tried to settle the situation.

'What about you?' Bloom addressed Darko 'We don't know you. Give us one good reason why we shouldn't suspect you.' For a second Bloom thought she saw Darko glance at Icy.

' I don't think Mr. Black would have given anyone information about his sister. He seems very protective of her.' Faragonda entered her office. 'And I made sure they were trustworthy.'

'Did you know they suspected us? ' Stella asked.

' Yes, they told me. And I told them that none of you would ever do that. But we had to make sure.'

'Do we have to leave?' Icy asked the headmistress. 'That's what the parents demanded, right?'

'They think it would be best for you to leave, yes. But no, you three are not going anywhere, as long as we all work together.'

'What's going to happen now?' Bloom asked

'Griffin, Saladin and I will be holding a press conference in a few hours. It is time we let the public know that the ancestral witches survived. Until we fix this problem, none of the schools will start teaching again. It's just too risky. We still have no news about their whereabouts.' Faragonda informed them. 'In the meantime I want you to continue training together. You can call the specialists, I am sure they want to help as well.'

'What about these two?' Layla looked over at Addy and Darko.

''We would like to help, right?' Addy asked her brother.

Darko hasitated before agreeing.

'Then you are welcome to stay .' Faragonda told them.

'How old are you?'

'Eighteen'

'Are you a witch?'

'No.'

'So you are a fairy?'

'No.'

'But you do have magic?'

'Yes.'

'Well that doesn't make sense.'

Stella asked Addy many questions on their way to the training area. If they were going to work together, they should get to know her. Addy thought it was annoying.

'Could you stop annoying me. Ask Darko some things.'

'Darko, do you have magic?' Stella asked

'No'

'That means you are no threat to us and we could defeat you in a fight. Now back to Addy. Where do you go to school?' The solarian princess continued

'She doesn't go to school. Lucky her' Stormy chimed in.

'Why not?'

'Stella leave her alone.' Musa told the fairy

'Thank you….ehhh' Addy didn't know her name.

'Musa.' The music fairy introduced herself.

'Thank you, Musa' Addy replied.

'I am just trying to make conversation.' Stella mumbled under her breath.

'No, you are interrogating her. Her and her brother want to help with a problem we caused.' Flora whispered to her friend before talking to Addy. 'I want to apologize for her. She doesn't mean any harm.'

' It's fine. But I have no interest in telling you my life story.'

' And we will respect that, right Stella?'

' Whatever. But if she teams up with these three to kill us' Stella pointed at the Trix 'don't tell me I didn't try to find something useful against her.'

'Hey sunshine, just for your information, I don't need their help to kill you.' Addy smiled.

'Addyson!' Icy warned her.

'Sorry.' Addy apologized. She should have known better. Threatening people was just going to get them all thrown out of Alfea.

'My sister normally works on her own and isn't used to teamwork. Sometimes she talks before she thinks.' Darko added and Addy rolled her eyes.

' Faragonda wants us to work together as a team. You are now part of that team. We don't need to know personal details, but we don't lie to eachother and we don't threaten eachother. That's the agreement we have and you will follow the same rules.' Bloom said.

' Of course. As long as blondie over there doesn't annoy me.'

'Don't worry, we won't cause any trouble' Darko replied and gave his sister a little nudge. 'Behave yourself.'

When they all arrived at the training room, they decided to form groups. The room was very big, so they all had enough space. Bloom and Icy, Stormy and Flora, Stella and Darcy practiced their convergences together. Or in the case of Stella and Darcy, they tried to find a way to form one . Musa and Layla were helping them. Tecna showed Darko and Addy the device she used together with the summoning coin to trace the magic of the ancestral witches. After some time Bloom received a call.

'That was Sky. The specialists will be here in ten minutes. '

Bloom, Stella, Tecna and Musa decided to go outside to welcome them. The rest of them stayed in the training room.

'Have you talked to Stormy?' Darcy went over to her older sister. Both looked over to their sister who was in the middle of a convergence with the flower fairy. A web of vines formed around them and small lightning bolts emerged from them. It was quite impressive to watch. They were all surprised when Flora and Stormy immediately were able to form a convergence.

'Not since yesterday. Have you?' Icy replied.

Darcy shook her head. 'No. Maybe you should talk to her.'

'Why me?'

'You're older. And I wouldn't know what to say. We always end up arguing. By the way, we haven't continued our conversation from last night and I am pretty sure Stormy thinks I am going mad and to be honest I think I am.' The witch of darkness said.

' I promise, we'll continue the conversation.' Icy crossed her arms.

'Really? It seems like you are trying to avoid it.'

Icy didn't answer her.

'Please tell me there is a more effective way to find out where the ancestral witches are. That thing, the pink haired fairy has developed, requires an attack before we can trace them and…please correct me if I am wrong…aren't we trying to avoid another attack?.' Addy said. She got her answer when no one replied.

'We are open for suggestions.' Layla looked at Addy.

' What exactly have you been doing in the past few days?.' Darko asked.

'Faragonda thinks in order for us to work together we need to understand each other's powers. She asked us to find ways to combine our magic.' Flora said ' And I agree with her opinion. Maybe it is unusal for witches and fairies to work together, but that's the last thing the ancestral witches will expect. And I believe that's how we are going to defeat them.'

'Well look at that, an optimistic fairy…Maybe we should start braiding each others hair as well. I am sure that would make it so much easier to defeat the big bad witches.' Darcys voice was dripping with sarcasm and she walked a few steps towards the flower fairy, who in return took a few steps back. Instead, Stormy took a step forward.

'Stop it. You're just jealous that we are the only ones who managed to carry out a full convergence. Unlike you and little miss sunshine.' Stormy said angrily.

' I'm not jealous! The reason we haven't managed yet is that I have a hard time getting involved with fairy magic. Unlike you as it seems.' Darcy retorded.

' What's that supposed to mean.' Stormy clenched her fists. 'Icy and Bloom managed a convergence as well.'

'Yes, I have seen the teeny tiny cold flame they produced.' Darcy replied and rolled her eyes. 'That little thing won't be helpful against anything.''

'What is your problem? We did exactly what Faragonda asked us to do. Maybe I am just more powerful.' Stormy screamed. She felt how her magic started to tingle in her fingertips.

'How can someone be so oblivious…' Darcy wanted to say more but was stopped by Icy.

'That's enough.' The ice witch put a hand on her younger sisters arm.

'Don't tell me you weren't thinking the same thing.' When Icy didn't reply the witch of darkness pulled her arm away and went to sit down in a corner without saying anything else.

'I want to know what you were thinking.' Stormy looked at her sisters. Neither of them answered her. ' Of course, keeping secrets is what you do best.'

' Stormy…..' Icy started.

'Too late.' Stormy cut her off and went to the other side of the room and sat down. Flora followed her a second later and sat down next to her.

'Now that kinda ruined the good mood.' Darko said sarcastically and walked over to the ice witch.

' Go away. ' Icy replied. She was not in the mood to go through another argument with him.

'No, I want to talk.'

'I don't care.' The white haired witch wanted to walk away, but Darko pulled her with him out of earshot.

'Damn it, Darko! What do you want?' The witch wanted to know.

'Are you ok?' Darko asked.

' None of your business. Can I go now?' Icy answered and wanted to walk away again but Darko didn't let her.

'Addy told me everything. Is there anything I can do to help?'

Icy hasitated before shaking her head 'No.'

'Do your sisters know?'

Icy considered not answering, but Darko seemed genuinely concerned.

'Darcy remembers how we tried to run away. But she doesn't know where we came from and who we are. As far as I know, Stormy remembers nothing.' Icy replied. 'And before you say anything, I know I should talk to them. It's just not that easy.'

'Yeah, I noticed you three might have a communication problem. What was that about?' He referred to the argument between Darcy and Stormy two minutes ago.

'I don't know.' Icy shrugged her shoulders. Darko knew she was lying but he let the topic drop.

'Listen, I am not here to argue with you. I want to apologize. Addy gave me a lecture about how I reacted.' Icy chuckled at that. She would've paid money to see Darko being lectured by his younger sister. He hated it when she acted like she was older.

'It's fine. You were partly right. I shouldn't have asked Addy back then if she could help us with the dragonflame.' Icy looked at Darko

'Yeah, you shouldn't have.' Darko avoided her gaze. He seemed to look for the right words.' But I should've confronted you in a more respectful way, given the circumstances.'

' Circumstances?' The ice witch frowned. She could see that Darko was feeling uncomfortable right now. It took her a moment to realize what he meant. 'Are you being serious right now? We went out for almost a year, Darko. And you knew the whole time who I was and it didn't seem to bother you then.'

'That was different.' Darko said quietly.

'In what way?' Icy hissed.

'Because you didn't know you were a princess. You were just a girl…..'

'JUST A GIRL.' Icy screamed at him. The five other girls in the room turned towards them when they heard the ice witch.

'No, sorry. That's not what I meant….' Darko tried to correct himself but the ice witch didn't let him.

'IS THAT WHAT I WAS. Just another girl you could wrap around your finger. A pretty little accessory that you could show off.' Icy didn't care if the others could hear her. She was so furious the temperature suddenly dropped.

'You know very well that you weren't.' Darko tried to remain calm.

In that moment the rest of the Winx girls came back together with the specialists. They all felt the tension in the room and looked confused.

'We are gone for a few minutes and Icy is about to start the next ice age?' Bloom said what everyone thought.

'SHUT UP' The ice witch yelled at the fire fairy, which made the redhead flinch. How dare the fairy interupt them.

Then everything went very fast. Icy couldn't control her anger anymore and her magic was looking for a way out. Unfortunately it targeted Bloom. A huge wave of ice crystals made their way towards the princess of Domino. Without missing a beat Bloom created a flame that was equally as impressive to neutralize the ice. Both elements were about to clash together when they heard someone snapping their fingers. Immediately the ice turned into water and ended up as a puddle on the floor. The fire wall disappeared as well, leaving both Icy and Bloom too stunned to speak for multiple reasons. The others turned towards the sound of the snap.

'Who is that?' Brandon asked.

'That's Addy.' Musa answered.

'Did she just make both ice AND fire disappear?' Sky continued.

'Hey guys, I am not an expert, but is that thing supposed to do that?' Riven said. That's when they all noticed how smoke started to emerge out of Tecnas device.

'No, it's not.' Tecna replied and wanted to walk over to check what was wrong with it.

Before she could reach it, the summoning coin exploded.
