Heaven Weiss, 35
Hunger Games Announcer
I leaned back in my chair and took a long drink of water. My voice was going to be put to the test tonight, but I was more than ready. The Chariot Parade was always extraordinary, and getting to announce it was a dream come true. Ever since I was a little girl, I'd commentate on the Hunger Games. My uncle always said my voice was a powerful one, and now I got to use it for what I loved.
"We're live in three… two… one…" the camera operator said. He gestured at me with two fingers and I tossed my green hair over my shoulder.
"Hello folks, and welcome to the official coverage for the 58th Hunger Games Chariot Parade! I'm Heaven Weiss, and I don't know about you, but I am thrilled to be seeing the tributes again! Especially after being in the hands of our capable stylists. Oh, and here comes District 1!"
"Lumine is wearing an amethyst-purple corset with a stained glass look over a blouse with white trumpet sleeves. Her hair is ruffled and decorated with a golden halo hairpiece. She's wearing wide-legged quartz pink pants and heeled black boots, and her makeup is bright and sparkly. She seems like a sweet girl, and tonight she is positively angelic!"
"Adonis looks striking in a tight black shirt and a bottle-green leather vest. The silver rivets give it some excellent detailing and the blue-green pants add another pop of color. His shoulder pads are like panes of dark green glass, and his black boots are tipped with silver. It looks like he has some silver eyeliner on, accenting his gorgeous green eyes. What a handsome lad!"
District 2's chariot came out next, being pulled by two dappled gray horses. Both Billie and Spartan were standing perfectly still, stoic expressions on their faces.
"Time for the 2's! Billie's dark skin is patterned with veins of marble. A royal purple toga is draped across her body, and she is standing proudly with a mace in her hand. The ends of her braids are dyed a pale purple and her makeup is dark and smoky. Billie volunteered to be an advocate for black girls everywhere, and I think we can all agree that she deserves support!"
"Spartan has the same veins of marble etched across his body. He has a menacing look on his face and is topless, showing off his sculpted chest and arm muscles. Loose black pants hang low on his hips and he's holding a club over his shoulder. According to our sources, he did time in prison for murder. I wonder what he can do in the arena?"
"And here comes District 3, who have been finalists for two years in a row. Can they bring home a victor this year? I'm excited to find out!"
"Evelyne is standing tall and proud in a form-fitting black jumpsuit. Teal numbers are flashing across the fabric; a code is being typed out as we speak! Evelyne was the girlfriend of Lana Rose, the runner-up in the 56th Hunger Games. Is it fate that she's here now?"
"Aww, poor Hugo looks a bit shy, but he's got a small smile on his face. His jumpsuit matches Evelyne's, but the numbers are bright orange. I wonder if they mean something?"
"District 4's chariot is being pulled by two midnight-black horses, an unusual but exciting color choice. And Mira is standing proud with a tall crown of black coral on her head. Her makeup is dark and dramatic, and perfectly matches her black pearl choker. She has on a beaded black top and her mermaid tail fades from lavender to royal purple. A true queen of the sea!"
"And Abyssa is out in full drag! She's got a flowing coral pink wig on, and a crown of pearls is nestled in her curls. Her top is made from iridescent pink seashells and she has a baby blue tail. Stunning! And she's waving and blowing kisses to the crowd. I think we've got a crowd favorite on our hands!"
"District 5 can be difficult, but these past few years their stylists have been knocking it out of the park! And it seems like this year will be another success. Zeppelina is wearing a short, sleek dress with massive chunky boots that glow with electricity. Her white headband crackles with lightning. She's young, but she's got a presence that says she's not one to be counted out!"
"And Rain is dressed opposite to Zeppelina in stormy gray. Lightning is flashing across his chest. And there must be a wind machine somewhere on their chariot, because both of them look like they're caught in a windstorm. What a good idea!"
"Toot toot! Here comes District 6. Winona is absolutely adorable in her fashionable striped jacket and tight little skirt. And that smirk on her face is almost as seductive. Props to her stylist for bringing out the diamond in the rough! And Ronald looks dashing in a navy suit with gold accents. The conductor's hat really pulls together the look, along with the shiny buttons. All aboard the Ronald train!
"District 7 is up next, and they're a very interesting bunch. Myrtle, or Ebony, as she likes to be called, looks fantastic in a tight green corset and leather gladiator sandals. Her skirt is sheer and flowy, and the antlers in her hair are decorated with leaves and dainty white flowers. Her makeup is shimmery and ethereal. A true forest goddess, if I've ever seen one."
"Her district partner Jackson is wearing a brown tunic with fiery orange ombre pants and thick boots. Leather gauntlets decorated in golden autumn leaves adorn his arms, and he's wearing antlers entangled with the same red and gold leaves. A cape of red, orange, yellow and gold leaves drapes down his back, with some of the leaves fluttering off into the night. Like Evelyne, Jackson also has a legacy in the Games. His older sister Janet was a tribute in the 51st Games. Can Jackson succeed where she failed?"
"I've always thought District 8 has an unfair advantage, since, you know, they're the textile district. But that doesn't mean I'm not excited to see what their stylists have whipped up!"
"Ada is wearing a long, flowing dress that seems to be made from hundreds of different fabric textures and patterns. The result is a kaleidoscope of purples, blues, and greens, with gold accents in the stitching. She is wearing a headpiece adorned with colorful peacock feathers, and looks just as proud and noble as one of the birds themselves."
"Jeff is Ada's opposite, dressed in a patchwork suit of grays, creams, and whites. His feathered headpiece is larger than Ada's and sparkles with silver detailing. A true pair of peacocks. Let's see if that really does reflect them. We'll find out during their interviews!"
"Juliana, another outer-district volunteer, is wearing a low cut white blouse with puffy sleeves and a tight brown corset. Her skirt is a yellow-golden color and she's wearing stockings. She looks absolutely adorable! But she doesn't look too happy… I wonder why that is?"
"Looking much happier, Vasir is a cute little gentleman in a plaid shirt and dark brown lederhosen. It's embroidered with grain along the hem, and his hat has a stalk of wheat sticking up like a feather. How dapper! I'm definitely excited to see more of these two at the interviews."
"Yeehaw! Here comes District 10! Kerra is dressed in a tight black leather corset and pants. Her makeup is dark and dramatic, and a bright blue bandana is tied around her neck. She's got tall black boots that are decorated with turquoise studs that match her bandana, and a black cowboy hat casts a shadow over her face. This girl was already fierce, and now she's positively menacing!"
"On the other hand, little Victor has got a black leather jacket on, along with the same tight pants as Kerra. His bandana is red, and instead of a hat, he's got bull horns. But despite his great costume, he looks absolutely terrified."
"District 11 is always hit-or-miss, and I'd say this year is a hit! Ruby is wearing a pink dress with puffy sleeves that's patterned with strawberries. The hemming is all done in white lace. Her hair is in two pigtails tied with red ribbons and she's wearing white sandals with a slight heel. Such a cutie! And Spruce is dressed in a formal black suit patterned with pink cherry blossoms. His bowtie is cherry-red, and so are his cheeks. Oh, Spruce, don't worry. It's okay to be a little shy."
"And last but not least, here comes District 12! Their outfits are already eye-catching, and they've just come out! Beria is dressed in a tight black jumpsuit and has coal dust smeared across her pale face. She's holding a golden drill-like contraption that jumps with sparks, and golden chains, jewelry and gadgets provide a real pop. A beam of light radiates from her golden miner's helmet, and there is gold braided into her fiery red hair. Such a beauty!"
"Jonathan is also wearing a thick black jumpsuit and has coal dust on his cheeks. He too is holding a sparking golden drill and has a gold miner's hat on. He's got a smile on his face and is waving to the crowd. Hi Jonathan!"
My camera was switched off to give the tributes their air time, and I gulped down a glass of water. Wow! What a night! All of the costumes were amazing, and I couldn't wait to see what these tributes could do.
Hey everyone! I'm back with another chapter, since this one wasn't too hard to write, once I planned out the outfits. And speaking of the outfits, thank you so much to Eugene (ShunKazamis-Girl) for the help with the D1 outfits. I really appreciate it. Also, go check out thehungergamesz' new SYOT, Snow Is Falling! I said I'd give it a shoutout and then I forgot, so here it finally is! Sorry. Anyways, I really hoped you enjoyed the parade outfits, and please leave a review!
Questions:
1) Whose parade outfit was your favorite?
2) If you could save one tribute from the bloodbath (who wasn't yours), who would it be?
Have a nice day, be kind to each other, and never stop reading!
