Author's Comments: thanks for all the reviews and follows to the story. as my name says IWriteBullshit, and I really only did this because other betrayal stories are extremely funny(not in a bad way) to me and I wanted to give it a shot i didn't think anyone would read this and was really only writing this for my own amusement but i'm glad some people actually like it.

Okay enough sappyness, on to the battles!

Lillie shivered as she stared down at her opponent's name. Snowy nuzzled against her cheek, which supplied some comfort, but not enough to coax away her anxiety entirely. "Why do I have to battle Gary Oak? Couldn't I have battled anyone else." She lamented nervously.

"Come on Lillie, you'll do great!" Ash popped up, walking up behind her to pat her shoulder in reassurance. "You go out there with your Pokemon and try your best! You've been working really hard, so don't stop till its over!"

Lillie smiled in return and nodded, determination lighting up her eyes. "You're right, lets try our best out there Snowy!"

"Vul!" Snowy purred, her fluffy white tails wagging with excitement.

"If you don't go soon you'll be late for your own match." Gladion interrupted, causing his sister to yelp in surprise at the time. She walked as swiftly, yet politely, as she could, returning Snowy to her Pokeball as she went. Gladion chuckled after her, a spark of pride striking his chest. He would be the first to admit that she came a long way, and he'd never stop being proud of her.

The referee wasted no time calling the match to a start. "The Battle between Lillie and Gary is about to begin! This is a two on two, single battle, no substitutions are permitted! The battle will be over when one side is out of Pokemon, or a trainer forfeits! Begin!"

"Snowy, Please assist me!" Lillie squeaked, tossing the Pokeball. Snowy materialized, sitting simply on the battlefield before Lillie.

While Lillie threw out her Pokemon, Gary threw out his. "Arcanine lets go!" A massive ginger and black tiger striped canine landed on the field, howling his entry.

Fear pounded Lillie's chest, not only was Snowy an Ice type, and Arcanine a Fire type, but he had more experience, and was huge compared to the tiny Ice fox. Balling her fists, Lillie called her first move. "Hail, and follow it up with Aurora Veil!" Snowy didn't hesitate a second, summoning a ferocious hail storm that cloaked the field, hiding the white fox. With Hail firmly in place, a lovely rainbow veil shimmered around their half of the field.

—-

"That's beautiful!" May gasped in awe. "Oh I would love to have a Vulpix like that for myself.

"Why are there so many Ice and Fairy types in these tournaments!" Iris whimpered, hiding safely behind Cilan, who sweatdropped as he patted her head in comfort.

"Its extremely smart." Brock chimed in. "Alolan Vulpix is an Ice Type, not only does Hail help cloak and hide it, but if hail hits Arcanine it can cause some damage, and Hail can increase the chances of Ice Type moves hitting."

"But Arcanine is a Fire type, Gary is going to end this battle with one Flamethrower." Misty said with self certainty.

Brock simply hummed. "We'll see."

—-

"Let's end this quickly with Fire Blast Arcanine!" Gary pointed straight ahead. Even if they couldn't see the Vulpix, a big enough blast should still hit. Arcanie growled an affirmative, firing a large kanji shaped blast towards the rainbow veil.

Fire Blast crashed into Aurora Veil, causing shards of glass like shards of rainbow to blast apart and go flying. Snowy rolled under Fire Blast with ease, only getting damaged by the few licks flames that got past Aurora Veil.

"Now Dazzling Gleam!" Snowy's tails flared behind her, expanding outwards and starting to shimmer with a vibrant, dazzling array of bright color. Arcanine growled in pain, the light causing damage to his eyes, coupled with the hail above showered down on him.

"End this with Flame Wheel!" Arcanine barked, flames building up around his legs before wrapping around his body. Arcanine took off in a sprint, flames dancing around him, melting Hail before it could hit, with the familiar fire type energy shielding his eyes from Dazzling Gleams effects.

"Use Quick Attack to dodge!" Silver streaks lit up around Snowy's paws, and she took off the the side, but Arcainine easily redirected, plowing into Snowy and sending her flying. "Oh no, Snowy!" Lillie gasped in fear, watching her partner desperately try to stand herself back up.

"Vul!" Snowy cried with determination, her legs shaking from the fiery damage, but not ready to throw in the towel.

Lillie smiled at her partner. "Blizzard, followed by Quick Attack!"

"Vulpix!" Snowy nodded in understanding, the wind starting to pick up around her. She parted her jaws, and a flurry of snow and ice shot out. With Blizzard still in effect, Snowy used Quick Attack, the normal and Ice type moves fusing together to make a move similar to Flame Wheel, but with Ice.

Gary couldn't help but feel impressed. The girl was smart, and her Pokemon strong willed to still be moving. "Fire Spin Arcanine!" He ordered, a grin working its way on his face.

"Canine!" Swirling flames blasted from Arcanine's muzzle, swirling and clashing with the Blizzard/Quick Attack.

Snowy tried plowing through Fire Spin, the Blizzard swirling around her doing what it could to protect her from Arcanine's flames. But the flames were too hot, and started melting Blizzard until Snowy was struck with Fire Spin. Snowy cried out in pain, crumbling to the ground. She tried to push herself back up on shaky paws, but in the end she just took too much damage, and collapsed.

"Vulpix is unable to battle. Will Trainer Lillie please forfeit or send out her next Pokemon?"

—-

"Gary is having fun." Dawn giggled as she noticed the grin on his face.

"He's impressed." Professor Oak sain with a soft, proud smile. "And I can see why. Its obvious both Trainer and Pokemon worked very hard, and care for eachother very deeply."

—-

Lillie swiftly recalled Snowy, pressing her lips to the red of her Pokeball in a small kiss. "You were amazing Snowy." She praised, and pulled out her next Pokemon. "Darling, Please Assist me!" (Darling is Herdier's nickname)

"Herdier!" From the Pokeball came a yorkie like Pokemon, with medium length, well kept brown and dark blue fur. His lips were drawn back in a determined, protective, and intimidating snarl.

Arcaine flinched back at the intimidating snarl directed at him. Gary himself was taken aback by the fierce look on the otherwise cute Pokemon's face.

"Let the battle between Arcanine and Herdier: Begin!"

"Work Up!" Red energy pulsed around Darling, working up excess energy to make his attack stronger.

"Flamethrower Arcanine!"

"Protect and Work Up again!"

A shiny green force field surrounded Darling, protecting him from the burning stream of flame that erupted from Arcanine as he worked up more of his attack energy.

"Take Down!"

"Retaliate!"

Arcainine speedily ran towards Darling, normal type energy cackling around him as he charged with Take Down. Darling met him head on, his own normal type energy causing him to glow yellow as they clashed. Arcanine yowled in pain, being shoved back before collapsing.

The referee's mouth opened and closed, trying to form words as the previously undamaged Arcanine fainted. Shaking his head, he called out. "Arcanine is unable to battle. Will Trainer Gary please forfeit or send out his next Pokemon?"

—-

Misty stuttered over her words. "H-How?!"

"Arcanine was fine just a second ago!" Dawn pointed out desperately.

Max recovered the fastest, his eyes near glowing with awe. "Not only did she raise her Pokemon's attack with two Work Ups, but Retaliate is a move that increases attack power if another Pokemon in the party faints!" Max pointed out. "Not to mansion, I think that Herdier's ability is Intimidate, which lowered Arcanine's own attack power."

"And that's without taking into consideration that Take Down causes recoil damage." Brock added. "She must know a lot about Pokemon to manipulate the match like this."

"Just what kind of people is Ash friends with?" May whispered in awe.

—-

"Alright! Great job Lillie! Darling!" Lana cheered, holding Bonnie up on her shoulders as they cheered.

"Yeah!" Kaiwe clapped loudly, his arms pounding the air above as he cheered for his mellowist friend.

"Whoo! That's my manager!" Ash cackled, high fiving Kaiwe.

"Amazing Sis!" Gladion chuckled proudly, clapping in a far calmer matter.

"Rai! Rai! Raichu!" "Dene! Dene! Dennea!" Raichu and Dedenne called out in glee, hopping in place as they cheered.

—-

Gary felt air leave his lungs as the blonde girl cheered for her Herdier, her tied back hair swinging as she clapped at the wagging normal type. With a deep breath, he recalled Arcanine, thoroughly impressed by the girl. But he wasn't finished yet. "Alakazam lets go!"

"Alaka!" A fox-like bipedal Pokemon took the field, a spoon in each hand, and long wisps cascading from his muzzle.

"Let the battle between Alakazam and Herdier: Begin!"

"Psybeam!"

"Protect!"

Alakazam crossed his spoons in front of him, a vibrant beam, made up of swirling multicolored energy shot out. Darling didn't move an inch, summoning a shining green force field, protecting him from the beam.

"Play Rough!"

"Psychic!"

Darling zigzagged out from behind Protect, and dashed towards Alakazam. As he got closer, Alakazam started to glow a bright purple with Psychic energy. Darling was forcefully halted by Psychic, held mid-action, before being thrown backwards. Darling growled, flipping over mid-air, after Psychic vanished, and landing on his paws with a loud ruff.

"Psycho Cut!"

"Work Up, and then dodge it!"

Darling lit up red once again, raising his Attack Power while Alakazam formed five, purple colored, and crescent shaped blades. With a twitch of his spoon, Alakazam sent the Blades towards the Herdier. Yapping, Darling jumped up to dodge the attack, skillfully dodging each blade. From his side Gary ordered another Psychic, and Alakazam took control of Psycho Cut, controlling the violet blades and causing them to follow Darling.

Lillie bit her lip in worry. Darling was running all of the field, tiring himself out while trying to dodge the Psychic powered Psycho Cut. With no other choice, she called out her next move. "Work Up." Red pulsed around Darling, and he halted, allowing Psycho Cut to hit as he built up his own energy. "Last Resort!"

Darling's body started glowing a vibrant gold, stars formulating, and circling around his body. Before anyone could blink, Darling took off. Dashing over the field in hot Pursuit of Alakazam. With a howl, Darling barreled into the Psychic Type, flinging him back as the stars also delivered their own hits.

A dust cloud was kicked up by the attack, hiding both Pokemon in the dust particles. The crowd, and trainers were silent, waiting with bated breath for the dust to settle. As the dirt finally started to settle down, they could make out two standing forms. Alakazam was covered in small scratches, holding his arm in pain, while Darling was no better. The dog Pokemon was breathing heavily, trying desperately to stay on his paws. His legs were shaking with over exertion, until finally he collapsed.

"Herdier is unable to battle. With no other Pokemon, Gary and Alakazam are the winners of the match!"

Lillie signed and returned Darling. "You were great Darling. Thanks for the hard work." She spoke to the Pokeball, feeling it heat up in response before turning to quickly get her Pokemon to Nurse Joy.

Gary returned Alakazam to his Pokeball, staring after the blonde girl with an unreadable expression. While Alakazam may have seemed only partially injured, Gary could tell Last Resort took more out of him than one would think. It wasn't that surprising, the Herdier was powered by four, or five Work Ups and Last Resort was an incredibly powerful move. Either way, he was extremely impressed.

"You were amazing!" Lana squealed, both herself and Bonnie capturing Lillie in a hug as soon as she came back to their seats.

"You're so cool Big Sis! Snowy was so amazing! That Blizzard and Quick Attack were so genius!" Bonnie babbled excitedly. Kaiwe snuck up behind the three hugging girls and scooped them all up in a hug.

Lillie's face was bright red. "B-But we didn't win!" She stammered, overwhelmed with the onslaught of praise.

"Who cares about winning?" Kaiwe scoffed. "You showed that Pretty Boy up by a long shot!"

Gladion snickered at how red his sister's face was. Kaiwe wasn't wrong either. Gary Oak was well known as a researcher, and for his accomplishments in battle in his youth, the fact that Lillie was able to take down one of his Pokemon, nearly both, spoke volumes of her own strength, and especially her intelligence due to how she won. He wouldn't be surprised if she had some fans following the battle.

—-

May stood from her seat as she finished the last of her lunch. "Alright Dawn, you ready to battle?" May grinned at her dark haired friend.

"Of course I am! Are you?" Dawn responded with friendly snide. "We've been working hard since the last time you beat us! We're ready to dominate!"

"Pip Piplup!" Piplup puffed out his chest proudly.

May simply smiled. "So have we! We won't roll over that easily!"

"With the way they bad mouth each other, you'd never believe they were friends." Max said dryly, causing the others, save for an oddly silent Gary, to laugh.

—-

"The Battle between the Princess of Hoenn May and Sinnoh's Brilliant Diamond Dawn is about to begin!" The Referee, who was a huge Contest Otaku, started, drawing the audience's attention. "This is a two on two, single battle, no substitutions are permitted! The battle will be over when one side is out of Pokemon, or a trainer forfeits! Begin!"

"Wartortle, Take the Stage!"

"Buneary Spotlight!"

On one side a cute brown and blonde bunny Pokemon dressed in a pink and orange vest appeared, hopping in place with excitement, on the other an elegant blue turtle Pokemon with a beautiful frilly tail.

"Ice Beam Buneary!"

"Rapid Spin!"

Frosted energy built up in Buneary's muzzle and shot out in a three tier beam. Wartortole withdrew into his shell, spinning rapidly in place, and causing Ice Beam to rickashay off his shell, unable to grab hold of the rapidly spinning Pokemon.

"Now Bubble!"

"Bounce Buneary, use Wartottle's spin to propel you up!" Dawn ordered.

"Bunay!" Buneary cried, bouncing up high into the air. She decided towards the Approaching Wartortle, but before she could land Bubbles started frothing from Wartortle's shell, spinning around him with Rapid Spin and cloaking Wartortle in a beautiful bubble shield. Buneary was too close to dodge properly, resulting in her getting swept up with the swirling Bubbles, taking repeated damage as she was spun around.

"Oh No, use Ice Beam to get rid of the bubbles!" Buneary prepared Ice Beam, her eyes shut tight due to the rough spin, Buneary fired blindly, the Ice Beam shot from her muzzle, freezing the bubbles and causing them to pop. With the bubbles gone, she started to free fall. "Now Double Kick!" Flipping around to right herself, Buneary directed a kick towards Wartortle. The first kick disrupted Wartortle's spin, and the second caused him to fall to the floor.

Wartortle groaned, and pushed himself up. "You okay Wartortle?" May called worriedly. Wartortle nodded simply, smiling back at her to reassure her of him being okay. Breathing a sigh of relief, May called out her next move. "Hydro Pump!"

"Use Dizzy Punch!"

Wartortle fired the powerful blast of water at the normal type as Buneary readied her ears, the blonde tufts lighting up in multicolored light. As Hydro Pump hit, Buneary started punching with her ears, dispersing the water from Properly hitting her and causing it to form pools around her.

May grinned as she noticed the water starting to soak the floor, and Buneary herself. "Ice Beam!" Hydro Pump tapered off, but before Buneary and Dawn could respond, a Powerful Ice Beam swept the field, freezing the puddles on the ground, along with the droplets that resided on Buneary's fur, making her unable to move. "Let's finish it with Rapid Spin!"

"Dodge with Bounce!" As Wartortle cycloned towards her, Buneary desperately tried to jump away, but with her paws firmly frozen to the ground, she could do little more than struggle as she tried to free herself. Wartortle barreled right into, knocking her back and finally freeing her from her frozen state. "Oh no Buneary!" Dawn cried out, watching as Buneary fainted.

"Buneary is unable to battle. Will Trainer Dawn please forfeit or send out her next Pokemon?"

Dawn sighed as she returned Buneary. "Thanks for the help Buneary. Typhlosion Spotlight!" On the field materialized a large badger-like Pokemon with a scruff of hot flame.

"Let the battle between Typhlosion and Wartortle: Begin!"

"Lets start this off with Eruption!" Typhlosion roared and moved to stand on all fours, aiming his scruff at Wartortle, where a powerful burst of red hot fire shot towards the Turtle pokemon.

"Hydro Pump!" Wartortle threw his, meeting Eruption's blast with his own stream of cold water, causing the two moves to meet in a humid explosion.

Dawn bit her lip in frustration. "Smokescreen!" The fire along Typhlosion's scruff went out, and instead a huge plume of black smoke spread from the glands in her scruff, spreading across the entire field.

May didn't seem worried though. "Rapid Spin!" Wartortle tucked into his shell, and started spinning. The thick smoke started getting pulled into the gravity of Rapid Spin, sucking it and turning it into a large black tornado of smoke, and clearing the field.

"Use Swift!" Dazzling golden stars swirled around Typhlosion, and shot towards Wartortle, disrupting his Rapid Spin and causing him to fling backwards. "Yes!"

"You still okay Wartortle?" May called out.

"Tortle!" Wartortle nodded, pushing himself back up.

"Flame Wheel Typhlosion!" Typhlosion balled herself up and started rolling, thick red and orange gathering, and surrounding her as she barreled towards Wartortle.

"Aqua Tail!" Wartortle's beautiful frilly tail started spinning, large waves of water swirling out from it. Wartortle shifted and swung his tail outwards, meeting Flame Wheel with Aqua Tail. Typhlosion attempted to push through, but the water from Aqua Tail was extinguishing her flame. "End it with a Hydro Pump!"

Wartortle twisted, his tail still clashing with Flame Wheel, and blasted a strong jet of water at Typhlosion, causing her to cry out and get shoved back. Typhlosion shakily tried to stand, but eventually crumbled to the floor, unable to battle.

"Typhlosion is unable to battle. With no other Pokemon, The Princess of Hoenn, May Maple, and her Wartortle are the winners of the match!"

"Alright! You were amazing Wartortle!" May cheered. Wartortle grinned up at his trainer and ran up to her Platform, using Hydro Pump on the ground to propel himself upwards and into her arms. Laughing, May simply patted his head happily.

Dawn signed and returned Typhlosion. "Good work Typhlosion, you were amazing!"

—-

"That was some battle!" Serena said in awe.

"Buneary was so cute!" Bonnie cooed, agreeing with the older girl.

"They've both come a long way." Ash agreed, a strange feeling of nostalgia striking him. It felt like not long ago May's Wartortle was still just a little baby Squirtle, crying easily at every little inconvenience, and like Dawn's Typhlosion was still a newly hatched Cyndaquil. It was bittersweet, seeing both trainers that he had helped in the start of their journeys now prospering trainers even though they didn't believe in his own dreams. Ash shook his head to dispel the thoughts. Were they sitting around moping that he had grown without them around? No, no they were not. So he wouldn't either. Even after everything he was glad that they were succeeding and had become good trainers. Ash smiled as he saw the two girls meet up across the stands, sharing a joke about something, likely playfully ripping into each other. "It's good to see them succeed." He mused, massaging the pad of his thumb against Raichu's cheek pouches.

"Rai Rai." Raichu agreed, purring at the cheek massage.

Author's Comments: I couldn't figure out if Last Resort had backlash damage or not some sources said it didn't but I'm certain the eeveelutions I battled in Pokemon Sword got knocked out after using it so I really have no clue. I decided it would make no sense for Lillie to only nickname Snowy and chose a random name from the lady and the tramp cause thats what I was watching while writing that part of the story. also sorry if you wanted dawn to go further I need to thin the numbers here people, and i think May should have won the wallace cup back in sinnoh so this is my revenge. Okay bye.
