Chapter 65.
The beginning of the end.
- "This is perfect... Lucemon was already strong... now he has more power."- MGarurumon said.
- "All this time... we've been playing his game... he had it all figured out."- KGreymon said.
- "That's right, everything I've been doing since I got stuck in this world... has been for this."- Lucemon said. – "Sure, there have been small changes, but all for the better, that you guys got rid of the rest of the demon lords... that helped me a lot."-
- "This kind of power... shouldn't exist."- Magnamon said.
- "We have to end this... it's our duty!"- Omegamon said and the three royal knights charge at Lucemon, however Lucemon only moves his arms, and a wave of energy knocks down the three royal knights.
- "This power is incredible... when I finish with you... the next to fall will be Yggdrasil."- Lucemon said.
- "So that's what you want... to end Yggdrasil... she will never allow it, she is our god."- Omegamon said.
- "God… She doesn't deserve that title! What kind of god will allow his world to suffer! The Digital World has always been under war, from prehistoric times to the present... if Yggdrasil was a good god... she would never have allowed that to happen!"- Lucemon said. – "That's why I will use this power to get rid of her, then I will take her place and create a new Digiworld, one without evil, without wars, without violence... where any Digimon can live in peace!"-
- "And what about our world?!"- KGreymon asked.
- "If humans hadn't interfered with my plans, I wouldn't have done anything to this world... but you dared to interfere... that's why your world will be destroyed."- Lucemon said.
- "We won't let you!"- Omegamon said, and the three royal knights charged at Lucemon again.
Lucemon creates a sphere of energy and launches it against the knights, Dukemon stands in front and blocks the attack with his shield, which is used by Magnamon and Omegamon to shoot beams at Lucemon.
Lucemon receives the attacks squarely, but this doesn't flinch from the attacks, he just laughs, they didn't do any damage to him. – "You tickle me..."- Lucemon said to suddenly appear behind Omegamon and Magnamon, knocking them down with an elbow strike to the knights' backs, then kicks Dukemon who, despite trying to cover himself with his shield, is thrown to the ground.
- "Dammit! Enjin!"- KGreymon attacks Lucemon with his sword wrapped in Gaia power.
However Lucemon stops the attack easily with just using two fingers. – "Weak… If you couldn't beat me before... what makes you think that now you have a chance?"- Lucemon said before kicking KGreymon's stomach, making it fly and crash into MGarurumon who tried to attack Lucemon.
- "We have to continue attacking... Multiple Magna Blast!"- Magnamon said while shooting several spheres of golden energy at Lucemon who is unfazed by the energy balls and charges at Magnamon, while creating a ball of dark and light energy. – "Damn... our attacks aren't doing much damage…"-
Lucemon aims the energy sphere at Magnamon, the sphere suddenly stretches in Magnamon's direction, who quickly dodges it, although he can't prevent one of his shoulder pads from being destroyed by the attack.
Taking advantage of the distraction, Lucemon grabs Magnamon by the face and proceeds to impact the energy sphere on his chest, creating an explosion and sending Magnamon flying. – "Too easy…"-
- "Damn you!"- Dukemon said as he and Omegamon charged at Lucemon.
Lucemon sees this and prepares another energy sphere, but when he is about to launch it, it becomes unstable and explodes, this makes Lucemon confused.
Omegamon seeing this realizes something. – "I see... then we have a chance to win, we just have to hold on long enough..." – He thought. – "Dukemon, stay behind me!"-
Omegamon approaches Lucemon, but Lucemon fires another sphere of energy at the royal knight, however, Dukemon gets in the way and covers Omegamon with his shield. – "Go!"- Dukemon said.
Omegamon comes to Lucemon's side and attacks him with his sword, but Lucemon easily stops it with his fingers. – "Not bad… But not enough."- Lucemon fires another energy sphere at Omegamon who is blown up and crashes into Dukemon.
- "That's nothing!"- Omegamon said.
- "Are you sure?"- Lucemon said snapping his fingers.
Omegamon notices how the sphere that Lucemon threw at him is still there, the sphere begins to shine. – "It's a bomb!"- He said but buddenly a pair of hands takes the sphere. – "MagnaGarurumon!"- Omegamon is surprised to see MagnaGarurumon grabbing the sphere.
- "I think this is yours!"- A voice behind Lucemon said, Lucemon turns to look and is surprised to see MGarurumon behind him, with the bomb in hand.
– "What the,,,"- Lucemon said to later see how the MGarurumon that was with Omegamon disappears. – "An afterimage!"- At that moment MGarurumon hits the sphere against Lucemon which proceeds to explode on the back of the evil Digimon.
- "MagnaGarurumon!"- KGreymon said when he arrived with the other royal knights, Magnamon also arrived with him.
- "I'm fine... well more or less."- MGarurumon said appearing next to him, however the weapon on his left arm was destroyed by the explosion. – "I used the technique of moving at the speed of light, but I wasn't fast enough, I lost a weapon."-
- "It doesn't matter, you managed to land a hit on Lucemon, even if it was his own."- Omegamon said. – "We haven't been able to land our attacks on him."-
- "Then let's make him the one to crash into our attacks!"- KGreymon said. – "I have an idea!" –
The smoke from the explosion disperses and Lucemon emerges from it, his back slightly burned from the explosion. – "That bastard… using my own attack against me... pathetic."- In that Lucemon sees how Magnamon and Dukemon attack him melee, Lucemon easily blocks the attacks, in the distance he can see how Omegamon and KGreymon take out their swords.
- "Enjin! / Grey Sword!"- They prepare to attack, they even make the move to attack, the strange thing is that there is no one to hit.
- "What are they trying to do? I'm too far away to be hit by them..."- In that Lucemon feels like someone grabs him from behind, turning around to see, Lucemon sees Garurumon grabbing him from behind, Lucemon waits to take it off but suddenly he feels two swords sticking into his stomach, Lucemon looks up and sees Omegamon and KGreymon running their swords through him. – "H-How... I didn't even see them move!"- Lucemon looks back and sees Dukemon and Magnamon in the distance, at which point he realizes what happened. – "I see...they used MagnaGarurumon's speed to get me close to the attacks instead of them getting closer to me...I have to admit it… that was smart."-
- "Finally, we managed to hit him!"- Magnamon said.
Lucemon smiles slightly, this is getting interesting, Lucemon takes the swords and pulls them from his stomach. – "Good strategy... but it won't be enough!"- Releasing a wave of energy, Lucemon sends everyone flying away from him.
The five quickly recover and regroup. – "We didn't do anything to him... but at least we managed to hit him, we're making progress."- KGreymon said.
- "So let's keep making progress!"- Omegamon said. – "Dukemon, Magnamon!"- Omegamon charges at Lucemon quickly followed by Magnamon and Dukemon.
KGreymon is about to join in but is stopped by MGarurumon who grabs him by the shoulder. – "Prepare an attack, I think I know Omegamon's intentions."- MGarurumon said.
Omegamon attacks Lucemon with his sword, but Lucemon easily parries it and kicks him to the ground, then easily parries Magnamon and Dukemon's blows. – "Don't think you can hurt me with those weak attacks, I'm much stronger than all of you..."- Lucemon doesn't finish speaking as he feels like a sword sticks in his back, when he turns to see he can see KGreymon, crossing his back with his sword, and MGarurumon, who used his technique to position himself and KGreymon behind Lucemon. – "Again with that technique…"- In that Lucemon notices how KGreymon puts his hands on the triggers of his sword.
- "So what do you think of this attack?!"- KGreymon pulls the triggers of his sword. – "Kuzuryūjin!"- From KGreymon's sword emerges a dragon made of Gaia energy, the dragon drags Lucemon until they crash into the ground and then explodes.
- "Alright!"- Magnamon said.
- "Impressive!"- Dukemon said.
- "Little by little we are gaining ground... if we continue like this it will only be a matter of time before we win."- Omegamon said.
- "What are you talking about?"- Dukemon asked.
- "Lucemon might be very powerful now... but I think I found his weakness and the reason why, although his energy and power increased... he is only slightly more powerful than before."- Omegamon said.
Meanwhile, Lucemon emerges from the smoke, his face completely furious. – "These dammed chosen ones and royal knights..."- Lucemon creates a pair of energy spheres one of light and one of darkness, one in each hand. – "Don't think that by being able to hit me you can defeat me!"-
- "And you should stop underestimating us!"- KGreymon said while pointing his sword at Lucemon, at the same time MGarurumon points his left weapon at Lucemon.
- "Hikuzuryūjin!"- From KGreymon's sword nine dragons made of Gaia energy emerge.
- "Magna Cannon Full Power!"- MGarurumon fires a beam of light at full power.
Both attacks come together creating a gigantic dragon made of both Gaia energy and light.
- "I'm going to kill each and every one of you!"- Lucemon unites both spheres and shoots a gigantic beam of light and darkness.
Both attacks collide, for a few seconds a struggle begins, but after a few seconds both techniques give way and explode.
After the explosion, the smoke lasts several seconds, when it disperses the sea fills the crater created by the explosion, Lucemon emerges from the water who is breathing heavily. – "What is this? Why my powers can't against them?"- Lucemon looks at his arm, it's trembling. – "No... I'm supposed to be superior to them... why am I getting tired so fast?"-
- "I see now… Lucemon is getting weaker."- Dukemon said.
- "That's right, that's our only chance to win, even though he's still slightly stronger than us... if we continue like this, his power will start to decrease until he's weaker than he was before he got all this power." – Omegamon said.
- "What are we waiting for then? Let's go... we have to win!"- Magnamon said.
- "You are not going to defeat me!"- Lucemon said before charging at KGreymon and MGarurumon, quickly creating a pair of energy chains and trapping his enemies with them. – "Die!"- Lucemon fires two beams of light and darkness at KGreymon and MGarurumon, however these beams are blocked by Dukemon and Magnamon while Omegamon cuts the chains freeing KGreymon and MGarurumon.
- "Thanks"- KGreymon said.
- "Why? Why do you keep fighting?! Don't you see you're just delaying the inevitable?!"- Lucemon said. – "The more you try... the more you make me angry, I can't stand you! Why are you so persistent?!"-
- "Because that's how we are... that's how heroes are."- KGreymon said. – "You'll never understand... you've never had a reason to get up again... if you can't achieve your goals you'll run away just to give up on that plan and make another one... we..."- Suddenly, Lucemon feels a couple of blows to his stomach, MGarurumon and KGreymon took him by surprise. – "We are different from you!"-
Lucemon recoils from the blow, but quickly recovers. – "Give up... who do you take me for?!"- Lucemon said. – "Everything I do is for one reason! You are blind! Can't you see that your world is rotten?!"-
- "What are you talking about?!"- MGarurumon said.
- "Discrimination... wars... segregation from society due to the same discrimination... hate towards other people just for being different!"- Lucemon said. – "Your world is rotten, and you don't do anything to change it, just like all Digimon! I'm the only one willing to make a change, and if that makes me a villain... I'll gladly be one!"- Lucemon desperately expends all his power and charges against MGarurumon and KGreymon who, together with the royal knights, are pushed by Lucemon's power.
- "I can't move…"- MGarurumon said.
- "The pressure is too much!"- KGreymon said.
At that moment, the royal knights stand behind KGreymon and MGarurumon, with their hands preventing them from moving back. – "Get ready... this will be the decisive attack!"- Omegamon said.
- "What are you talking about?!"- MGarurumon asked.
- "You will see it soon..."- Omegamon said.
Lucemon creates an energy sphere and charges at his enemies, however halfway through the sphere disappears and his right arm explodes. – "What the… What happened?!"- He said.
- "You overestimated your own limits!"- Omegamon said. – "You may have obtained the power of the seven deadly sins crests... but your body was not ready for the power!"-
Lucemon's right arm regenerates, but his entire body begins to fail, constantly inflating and deflating.
- "You hadn't noticed it because you weren't using the maximum power of the crests, but now that you tried to use their full power... your body couldn't take it and now you're losing power instead of gaining it!"- Omegamon said. – "At this moment you are not stronger than a champion Digimon!"-
At that moment KGreymon and MGarurumon understood, it's time to finish this, KGreymon surrounds his sword with Gaia energy while MGarurumon removes his weapons and pulls out a pair of lightsabers.
- "It's over, Lucemon!"- Omegamon said.
For the first time in his life, Lucemon fears for his life... he only sees how KGreymon and MGarurumon get closer, at that moment a voice resonates in his mind. – "Lucemon, welcome... my child."- Memories of his past, when he was still an angel.
- "Enjin! / Starburst Hunter!"- Hearing this, Lucemon returns to the present, being attacked by both MGarurumon and KGreymon.
Lucemon falls to the ground, the right half of his face, the right half of his torso, arm included, and left leg completely destroyed. – "I lost…"-
