Chapter 6: A Mother, Never Forgets
While being carried by a dragon with a ton more behind them with the mysterious warrior leading, the Haddock twins are dangling in the claws of the dragon, surrounded by the strange flock full of breeds they'd never seen. They look back for Toothless and Midnight, now long gone.
"Hey! You left our dragons back there! Mine can't fly on his own! He'll freeze to death!" Hiccup shouted out to the mysterious rider.
"And mine can't go anywhere without her mate! They'll be worried and freezing!" Hicca added in worry since they know that Toothless and Midnight can't stand the cold.
The mask rider offers no response, seemingly immune to the cold as they lead the dragon flock across the polar night to a landscape that was harsh and foreboding.
With Heather and Ragnar, they kept flying while following the dragons and the masked rider while figuring out a way to rescue the Haddock twins.
"Okay, so how are we gonna rescue Hiccup and Hicca with this many dragons blocking our way?" Ragnar asked Heather while getting close to the flock.
"I'm working on it, Rag." Heather answered before a dragon flew in from behind and snatched her right from Windshear's saddle. "WHAAHH!" She screamed
"HEATHER!" Ragnar called out before he was snatched as well from a dragon, taking him off Skully's saddle. "WHOAAA!" He yelled out.
'Heather!' Windshear roared in worry.
'Ragnar!' Skully roared as well before flying after them.
The two Berserker Riders were then taken next to the Haddock twins, with Heather on Hicca's side while Ragnar on Hiccup's side as they looked at each other, "Hey, guys." Ragnar said dully with a wave.
"How's the weather today?" Heather asked sarcastically.
"Cold and freezing." Hiccup dully said.
"And worried about Midnight and Toothless, apparently." Hicca added in the same tone.
Out of the fog looms an epic ice formation that was jagged, spiked, and similar to the icy aftermath of Eret's fort, but many times its size.
"Woah. That is much bigger than Eret's fort." Hicca stated while shivering from the cold.
"That's the biggest glacier I've ever seen." Ragnar added with wide eyes.
The dragon escort dives into its jagged folds.
In the ice formation in some caves, the wild ride suddenly gives way to a multilevel, cavernous chamber made of ice and columns of basalt rock. It's heavily populated with dragons of all kinds, looming in the shadows.
The Haddock twins and the two Berserkers are dropped in the center. They scramble to their feet, calling out into the darkness.
"We have to go back for our dragons!" Hiccup called out in worry.
"We can't leave them out there!" Hicca added as a hissing dragon close in on them, sniffing, leering, aggressive.
"There are a lot of dragons here." Heather commented.
"And from the looks of things, they don't like people much." Ragnar said as he reached for his swords.
"We need to show them we are not a threat, bro." Hicca whispers to Hiccup as they both extend and light their dragon blades, with Hicca turning hers into battlestaff mode, waving a swirl of fire around themselves.
The dragon pauses, intrigued, and then watches hypnotically as Hiccup and Hicca pacifies him with calculated sweeps of the fiery/blue blades.
The mask rider watches them keenly from the shadows.
Several aggressive dragons close in behind the Riders. Hearing their hisses, they quickly stow the blades, Hiccup replaces a cartridge in its hilt, then flips it around and sprays a perimeter of Zippleback gas around him, Hicca and their Berserker friends. He clicks the lighter, igniting a flash ring. The testy dragons recoil.
Hicca grabs some dragon nip and tosses it into the air, calming down the dragons. The Haddock twins then reach through the smoke, offering their open hands. The dragons re-approach, sniffing them with calmed curiosity.
"Wow." Ragnar said in surprise.
"You two have been working on your training skill." Heather said with an impressed smile.
The mask rider tilting this masked head, curious. He dismounts his dragon and approaches the Haddock twins and their two friends as they turn to him.
Ragnar and Heather pull out their weapons, "Stay back." Ragnar warned.
"Trust me, you don't wanna mess with us." Heather told the Stranger as he circled them.
"Who are you? The Dragon Thief?" Hiccup asked but got no answer.
"Drago Bludvist?" Hicca asks, thinking this person might be who their father told them about.
The masked rider gives no answer and still circles the Riders in silence, taking in their gear, their dragon blades, and their face.
"Do you even understand what we're saying?" Hiccup asked but the warrior didn't respond. Instead, the warrior whirls and hammers their staff. In response, a large dragon ascends from the depths, carrying…
"Toothless!" Hiccup cried out in relief.
"Midnight!" Hicca exclaimed as the two Night Furies were dumped on the ground next to Hiccup and Hicca, sopping wet from the water they were dragged in and freezing.
Windshear and Skully then came flying in once they saw an opening from the other dragons as they landed beside their respective riders, the dragons around backing away to give them some space.
"Windshear!" Heather called out in relief as she hugged her Razorwhip's head.
"Skully!" Ragnar called out in the same way as he ran up to his dragon and hugged his big boney head. "Glad you found us, boy."
The Haddock twins meanwhile, rushed to the two Night Furies, petting them reassuringly. The two Night Furies coos in relief knowing that their riders are safe.
"It's okay. We're glad to see you, too, bud. You two really had us worried." Hiccup said to Toothless.
"It's okay, Midnight. We're fine. We were just worried about you and Toothless.." Hicca said to Midnight as she petted her dragon.
The mask rider rattles his staff at a nearby dragon. In response, it and the surrounding dragons produce firelight from their throats, spotlighting the four Riders and their dragons. The mask rider sets down his staff and shield, then approaches the Haddock twins, cautiously and animal-like.
Toothless and Midnight snarls and circles Hiccup and Hicca defensively, but then instantly yields to the stranger's outstretched hand. With a quick, disarming gesture, the mask rider puts Toothless and Midnight into a state of bliss. Leaving the other Riders astounded at what happened.
The masked rider then turns to the Haddock Twins.
"What are you doing?" Ragnar questioned as he and Heather were about to walk towards them, but the dragons blocked their path, keeping them from getting any closer.
Windshear and Skully were about to start up their fire, but their riders stopped them.
"No you two. We don't want to start a fight. This mask guy seems to be hostile." Heather stopped them from doing anything rash.
The Haddock twins recoil as the mask rider reaches out to them, finding the faint scar on Hiccup's chin, glinting in the firelight.
The mask rider gasps and retreats a few steps. And then looked at Hicca with the same green eyes as her brother and with the same features aside from the different hair styles, but also seeing the same scar on her chin, realizing that they are siblings.
"Hiccup? Hicca?" The masked rider said in a woman's whisper and shaken voice as the Haddock twins looked in shock at how the mask rider knew their names while Heather and Ragnar were surprised by this. "Could it be? After all these years? How is it possible?" She asked.
"You're a woman?" Heather said in surprise.
"And you know these two?" Ragnar added with a raised brow.
"Uh, should we… should we know you?" Hiccup asked in shock.
"Even if we never met?" Hicca added in shock as well.
"No, you two were only babies…" The mask warrior says as she slowly removes the strange mask, revealing her face and auburn hair, she appears to be 40. Her green eyes meet the Haddock twins' own, who were equally wide-eyed and aghast. "... but a mother never forgets." She finished.
The Haddock twins looked at her in shock, they stammered, were tongue-tied and aghast at what they just heard and saw while Ragnar and Heather were both eye wide in shock after what they were hearing.
"M-mom?" Hicca said while still in shock.
Their mother nodded with a small smile before she turned to the two Berserkers. "And you two are their friends?" She asked politely.
Ragnar and Heather were still shocked at what they were seeing as they got their bearings as Heather spoke. "Uh, yeah. Yes we are." Heather answered slowly.
"B-but how are you," Ragnar tries to ask before the woman turns away.
"Come…" The Haddocks' mother said to her children and their friends as she led the way.

Outside in the midnight sun, Stoick and Gobber search over the frigid waves that lap against the pack ice, Alivn returns to Berk to tell the other leaders about what happened while his two friends search for the Haddock twins and the two Berserkers while keeping Berk guarded while they are gone.
"Boar-headed! Just like their mother! She could never stay put either." Stoick exclaimed as his children reminded him of his wife back in the dragon war before she disappeared.
Gobber glances over at Stoick, who's hunched over. "Ah, they're just twenty. And Vikings. I mean, could there be a worse combination? Ha! When I think of how stubborn and senseless YOU were back in the day…" Gobber brow furrowed and solemn. "... well, not much has changed, actually." He realized that nothing had changed with his best friend.
Stoick turned to Gobber. "You know what they're like. They won't give up, Gobber. And if Hiccup and Hicca find Drago, before we find them…" He started to worry for his childrens, Gobber called out.
"Bah! Nothing can hurt Hiccup and Hicca so long as those Night Furies are around. There are two Night Furies!" Gobber called out as he knew the Haddock Twins and the Night Furies worked together, their unstoppable.
Stoick then saw an ice frame with a hole with two glistening objects bobs on the surface below. He squints and circles back, leading Skullcrusher in a dive toward them. Stoick snags them out of the water. It was Hiccup and Hicca's helmets.
Gobber pulled alongside Stoick, seeing his look of dread. Stoick holds the helmets out for his dragon to smell.
"Find them, Skullcrusher. Find them." Stoick said to his dragon as Skullcrusher sniffs the helmets like a bloodhound, roars, and suddenly changes heading while the 6 other dragons and two riders follow the chief and his dragon.

Back in the ice mountain, the Haddock twins flustered, winded, chasing Valka through tightly winding corridors with their two Berserker friends behind them, Skully and Windshear taking the long way around as they were to big to maneuver through the tunnels.
"Hold on! Wait just a minute! Come back here!" Hiccup called out as he and his sister followed their mother with their dragons behind them.
"This way, come!" Valka said to her childrens as she led the way.
"You can't just say something like that and run off!" Hiccup exclaimed.
"You're our mother?! I mean, what the - do you grasp how INSANE it sounds?!" Hicca added in still shock.
Heather and Ragnar followed behind them as they were still shocked by what just happened as Ragnar turned to Heather. "Is this what would've happened if you and your brother reunited with your father?" He asked in curiosity.
"Maybe, but I'm not sure it will be like this." Heather answered as they kept following Valka.
"This way, hurry!" Valka said as she climbed up a ledge.
"We have questions!" Hiccup called out as he and his sister followed her over the difficult terrain. They tried to clamber over a tall rock, unsuccessfully.
"Where have you been all this time?" Hicca asks as Toothless and Midnight boost them over, the Haddock twins land on the other side.
"What've you been doing?! They said you were dead! Everyone thinks you were eaten by…" Hiccup was trailed off when he and his sister entered a new chamber as Ragnar and Heather and their dragons caught up.
"Why did you two stop?" Ragnar asked in confusion.
"Yeah. You both seem to be pretty desperate for…" Heather trailed off as they saw a massive inner chamber teeming with ferns, plantlife waterfalls, hot springs and thousands of new and old dragons they had encountered before. "Oh my Thor." She gasped as Windshear and Skully arrived and were just as amazed.
The Riders wanders in, basking in the amazing sight: a dome of sweating ice capping a geothermal micro climate, filled with dragons of every shape and kind. They spot Valka clinging to a basalt overhang, watching him with the dragon they countered earlier.
"This is where you've been for twenty years?" Hiccup asked in amazement as his sister and their friends looked in amazement as Valka nodded from her perch.
"You've been rescuing them." Hicca said in realization of what their mother has been doing over the years.
"You two are not upset?" Valka asks in worry.
"What? No. We don't know. It's a bit much to get our head around, to be frank." Hiccup stated.
"Yeah. It's not every day you find out our mother is some kind of crazy, feral, vigilante dragon lady." Hicca added with a smile.
"That's one way of describing her." Heather said with a small smile as Ragnar gave a slight snicker.
Valka chuckles, and using her dragon's wing, lowers herself to the ground like a skilled acrobat. "At least I'm not boring... right?" She asks her children.
"I suppose there is that…" Hiccup stated while feeling feeble, trailing off a bit. "... one... specific... thing…" he finished as excited dragons rushed up to greet the Haddock twins, the two Berserkers and their dragons. Hiccup and Hicca pets a few, marveling at the vast dragon utopia before them while Ragnar and Heather still look in awe.
"Do you two like it?" Valka asked.
"We don't have the words." Hicca replied.
'Hey, personal space!' Toothless snarls in annoyance as the curious, smothering dragons sniff every part of him and his mate, which is kinda uncomfortable and weird.
A dragon then got behind Midnight as it sniffed her behind, which made her raise up from behind, 'Whoa!' Midnight warbled in surprise.
'HEY! Keep your snout to yourself!' Toothless snarls the dragons off them as they back up a bit while Windshear and Skully let out dragon-like laughs.
Valka laughs a bit and then decides to look closer to them. "Can… I?" she asked the four as they gave her a nod in 'go ahead'.
First she goes up to Windshear as she runs her hands over her metallic-like skin, "She's beautiful, and so well behaved." She said as Windshear purred from the touch.
She then moved over to Skully and scratched under his chin, "Oh, aren't you cute one? Yes you are, yes you are." She cooed as Skully laid on his side and wagged his tail in the air while panting like a dog.
Ragnar and Heather watch with smiles. "She's really good with our dragons." Heather said with a small smile.
"And know their behavior as well." Ragnar added
Valka then turned towards the two NIght Furies. "They're beautiful." Shesaid as she stroked Midnight and Toothless, who purred at her touch. "Incredible. They might very well be the last few of their kind." she stated as she inspected his talons as Toothless rolled onto his back, nuzzling her as Midnight did the same to her back. "And look, they're both your age! No wonder you two get along so well." she added as the Haddock twins smiles, astounded by Toothless and Midnight's affection for Valka and how their mother knows their age, which is the same as their age. "And you said they are mates?" She asked them.
"Yes. And they never leave each other's sides and look out for one another since the day we met them. Kinda like me and Hiccup." Hicca added as Valka smiles as she mocks their dragon sounds. Toothless and Midnight's teeth retract into their gums.
Valka checked their teeths. "And retractable teeth as well? Ah! How did you four manage to-" she was cut off when Hiccup spoke.
"-We found them in the woods. Toothless was shot down and wounded." Hiccup explained sheepishly.
"And Midnight was there to keep her mate company and wouldn't leave him behind." Hicca added sheepishly as well.
"I found Windshear when she was young, she was injured in a fight with Typhoomerang." Heather explained as she went over to her dragon.
"And I met Skully when the Dragon Flyers captured him from his island and left him vulnerable with his bones." Ragnar added as he held Skully's head.
Valka winces and offers a sympathetic nod as she stands to caress a few of her own rescued dragons. "This Snafflefang lost his leg to one of Drago Bludvist's iron traps." Valka pointed out the dragon's leg stump.
Hicca saw this and came to it. "It's a little swelling from the bottom. A little ointment will swell it down." she said as she brought out a cream and applied it to the dragon as it purred from the touch.
Valka saw this and smiled at her daughter's medical knowledge as she continued. "This Raincutter had her wing sliced by razor netting." She pointed her staff to a sliced wing from the other dragon.
Hicca saw this and examined the dragon's wing. "I can stitch this up later when we have the time. It's not too damaged and can be put back together." she said as her mother then gestured to a dragon with blind eyes.
"And this poor Hobblegrunt was blinded by a tree snare... then left to die alone and scared." Valka said as she petted the dragon as it turned from purple to green from the touch while purring.
"I'll see what I can do for that. Gothi taught me how to fix blindness when Astrid lost her sight, I can do the same to dragons." Hicca said as she checked the Hobblegrunt's eyes.
Valka nodded to her daughter and then saw Toothless' prosthetic tailfin. "And what of this? Did Drago or his trappers do this, too?" she asked with a touch of anger in her voice, while touching the tail.
The Haddock twins looked at each other nervously on how they could explain that to their mother while Ragnar and Heather looked at each other worried on how this might turn out.
"Heh. Well, the crazy thing is... We're actually the ones who shot him down." Hiccup answered sheepishly.
"Well technically, I was just there to keep Hiccup company that night when he shot down Toothless, but why argue over details?" Hicca added with a nervous smile as their mother glared in confusion at them
"It's okay though. Toothless got me back." Hiccup replied as he playfully played with Toothless as Hicca did the same with Midnight. "Right, bud? You couldn't save all of me, could you? You just had to make it even. So…" He started as he and his sister said it together.
"Peg leg!" The Haddock twins both said as Hiccup rattles his prosthetic leg with a smirk. Valka observes their playful rapport with curiosity while the two Berserkers give small chuckles.
"They are a package deal alright." Ragnar commented.
"They're motto is. 'Where one goes, the other follows.'" Heather added with a small smile.
Valka gave a chuckle. "That's my childrens, alright." She said as she turned to her kids. "What did your father think of your Night Furies friends?" She asked her children while petting the Night Furies.
"He didn't take it all that well." Hiccup said.
"Then again, he never takes secrets very well." Hicca added as Valka mutters in agreement, knowing her husband all too well, even after being twenty years apart.
"But then... he changed. They all did. Pretty soon everyone back home had dragons of their own." Hiccup said as the four then leapt onto their saddles.
"And we made tons of allies who see dragons the same way we do." Hicca added while pointing towards Ragnar and Heather.
"If only it were possible." Valka said when she knew Berk back then like the back of her hand.
"No, really mom. We-" Hicca was cut off when their mother continued.
"- Believe me children, I tried, as well." Valka said. "But people are not capable of change, kids. Some of us... were just born different." she explained and then told a story of her past.

Flashback:
On Berk, back when the Dragon Wars was still on. Dragons sweep from the sky, blowing FIRE, carrying off sheep and dried fish. Vikings chase them down, hurling weapons.
Berk was a land of kill or be killed, but I believed peace was possible.
A Viking is about to finish off a felled dragon, but Valka chases up to him and tugs at his arm. "Stop! You'll only make it worse!" she yelled to the Viking.
The dragon takes wing, escaping to safety... leaving the Viking warrior glaring at Valka.
It was a very unpopular opinion.
As the Viking rushes off, Valka hears a clatter and whirls around to see a (the same one that rode Valka in the present) clawing its way through the roof of her house.
"Hiccup! Hicca!" Valka cried out as she rushed to save her children.
When the dragon enters the house through the hole in the roof, sniffing out a baby's cradle in the corner and curiously moving over to it.
Valka rushes in, panicked.
One night, Cloudjumper broke into our house, finding you two in the cradle.
Valka draws a sword quietly, slipping up to Cloudjumper, only to find him huddled protectively over the cradle as baby Hiccup and Hicca innocently play with one of hidls talons.
I rushed to protect you both, but what I saw... was proof of everything I believed.
Valka's careful approach causes a floorboard to squeak. Spooked, Cloudjumper whips around to face her, accidentally scratching Hiccup and Hicca's chins as they cry from the pain.
Their eyes meet. Valka lowers her sword, enchanted by the dragon's eyes.
This wasn't a vicious beast, but an intelligent, gentle creature, whose soul reflected my own.
Stoick's ax spun through the air between them, barely missing Cloudjumper and planting into a pillar.
"Valka, run!" Stoick cried out to her wife as he ran.
Alarmed and enraged, Cloudjumper whirls around at Stoick and blasts!
Stoick dives out of the way as the fire splatters against the wall, burning a hole and setting the room ablaze.
The dragon moves toward Stoick, but Valka grabs hold. "Don't!" she pleaded to Cloudjumper. It turns to face her again, locking eyes, agitated.
"Hang on!" Stoick cried out as he dashed through the fire toward Hiccup and Hicca and pulled them out of the cradle with one arm. He pulls his ax from the pillar with his other hand…
"No! NO! Stoick!" Valka cried out as in a whoosh of smoke and embers, Cloudjumper had grabbed Valka and flew off with the other dragons.
"VALKA!" Stoick cried out to her wife as he headed for the hole in the house.
"Stoick!" Valka cried from a distance as she and Cloudjumper flew into the smokey sky.
Stoick and his two children watch helplessly as Cloudjumper and Valka disappear into the night. "Valka…" he said in sadness as he watched his wife being taken away.
Baby Hiccup and Hicca watch with quiver lips with the fresh nick on their chins…

Back to the present, the Haddock twins' chins have the matching scars as their mother continues.
Ragnar and Heather listened to the story as they were pretty shocked at what Valka just told them. "Whoa." Ragnar said in breath as Heather nodded in agreement.
"You two and your father nearly died that night, all because I couldn't kill a dragon." Valka finished her story.
The Haddock twins both turned to each other with a smile and turned back to their mother.
"Yeah, it runs in the family." Hiccup stated that he and her sister share similar traits to their mother side that day they met Toothless and Midnight five years ago.
"We couldn't kill a dragon too when we were kids, mom. We never really did our whole lives." Hicca added with a small smile.
"It broke my heart to stay away, but I believed you'd be safer if I did." Valka explains as the Haddock twins consider this, then raises their eyes to hers, seeing the sting of remorse. "But even then, a part of me always wanted to come back but always feared I couldn't."
"How did you survive?" Hiccup asks.
"Yeah, mom. What happened after Cloudjumper took you?" Hicca added in wanted to know as well.
"Oh, Cloudjumper never meant to harm me. He must've thought I belonged here…" Valka stated as she led her kids and their friends to the edge of a raised natural terrace overlooking the steamy oasis with its flowing hot spring waterfalls.
Half-submerged in the warm lake below, a massive white dragon with pronounced, mammoth-like tusks rests benevolently on the banks, his stately countenance like that of a lion surrounded by his pride.
"In the home of the great Bewilderbeast. The alpha species. One of very few that still exist." Valka explains as the dragons land and bow reverentially to the Bewilderbeast. Valka gestures to the spiked ice ceiling that acts as a sweating greenhouse.
"Wow. So that's the King of Dragons." Hicca commented as she and her brother had deja vu from their final battle with the Dragon Hunters on Berserker Island.
"You saw one before?" Valka asked her daughter in a curious tone.
"W-well, not exactly." Hicca admitted.
"We did find its nest a year back, but we never really saw it. But when the Hunters and Flyers were trying to capture it, we managed to rescue its egg." Hiccup explained.
"And surprisingly, the King of Dragons was under our home island, Berserker Island." Heather added.
"And it saved me from almost being killed." Hicca added. "Though sometimes I wonder if it really is a queen instead of a king if it can lay an egg." She added while rubbing her chin.
Valka then realized, "Oh, so that's where that egg Atali left for me came from," She said.
The four Riders turned to her in surprise, "W-wait, your the someone Atali said knew someone else who would take the egg somewhere safe?" Hiccup asked as his mother nodded, "W-Well, who did you give the egg to?" He asked.
"She calls herself the Night Guardian." Valka answered. "Not much is known about her, but I knew she would protect the egg better than me if this place was ever discovered. And she's a friend to dragons like me." She explained with a small smile.
"Well, at least we know the egg is really in good hands." Heather said with a shrug.
"Which is really surprising that there was a connection to you, Ms. Haddock." Ragnar added in surprise.
"Wait, do the Wingmaidens even know who you are, mom?" Hicca asked in curiosity.
"Not really. I've kept my secret even to some connections I had to other people." Valka explains while looking at the Bewilderbeast. "And as for the Bewilderbeast, every nest has its queen, but this is the king of all dragons." She said proudly, "With his icy breath, this graceful giant built our nest. A safe haven for dragons everywhere." She exclaimed to the nest and the dragons themselves.
The Haddock twins are then putting the pieces together from the ice from Eret's fort. "Wait, that's the ice-spitter? He's responsible for all that destruction?" Hiccup asked their mother in shock.
"He protects us." Valka simply said. "We all live under his care. And his command." She added.
They pass an eggshell-littered nursery. Hatchlings dart out of it, greeting them excitedly and inciting chaos. Toothless, Midnight, Windshear and Skully are overwhelmed by their manic picking and scratching. Cloudjumper balks and sends them scattering.
"All but the babies, of course…" Valka added as the hatchlings clamber on top of the Bewilderbeast and play on his massive tusks, despite his authority. Valka laughs. "...who listens to no one." She said through the snort as the Bewilderbeast lets out a frosty snort, sending off the youngsters to spread more mischief.
Now awakened, The Bewilderbeast raises his gargantuan head to take a closer look at the Riders, most specifically the Haddock twins, coming massive eye to eye. Valka bows in his presence. As do the Riders' dragons.
"I've lived among them for twenty years, kids, learning their ways, discovering their secrets…" Valka said while the Bewilderbeast acknowledges the Haddock twins with another icy snort, slicking back Hiccup and Hicca's hairs in a frosty veneer. Valka laughs. "He likes you two." She said to her children.
The two Berserkers gave a small laugh from that. "Nice frost style." Ragnar joked as Heather kept laughing. But then the Bewilderbeast did the same icy snort to the two Berserkers, giving them the same treatment as the Haddock twins. "And I spoke too soon." Ragnar said dully.
"He likes you two as well." Valka said with a small chuckle as the two Berserkers got the frost off them.
The Haddock twins rub the frost off their hairs. "Wow." They both said in awe of what they are seeing, and that the Bewilderbeast trusts them just by looking at them.
Valka chuckled, delighted in their awe. "You four must be hungry." she guessed.
"Uh, yeah. We could eat." Hiccup admitted.
"We are kinda hungry." Hicca added.
"Good. It's feeding time." Valka said as she led the way with her kids following her.
Ragnar and Heather stayed behind as they looked around. Hicca saw this as she turned to them. "Heather, Ragnar, are you two coming?" She asked their friends.
"Uh, we think we should stay here." Ragnar said with a small smile.
"Yeah, you three should go on without us." Heather continued with a small smile. "This should be a mother and children bonding thing, it was twenty-years overdue and for you three to catch up. We'll catch up with you later." She added with a smile, knowing that Hiccup and Hicca wanted to spend some time with their mother together as this was something the Haddock twins always wanted.
Hiccup and Hicca smiled at their friends from that. "Thanks, guys." Hiccup said with a smile.
Valka gave the two Berserkers a smile as she then pointed to a cave next to another on the right. "There should be something you can put together inside. I kept some supplies and crafted some furniture on my travels." She said to them. "I'll catch you two later to show you all something amazing." She added with a smile.
"Thanks, Ms. Haddock!" The two Berserkers said as they went to the cave on the right while Windshear left to explore the Sanctuary and Skully laid down for a nap as the three Haddocks looked at each other with smiles as they walked out.
Toothless and Midnight tuck themselves beneath Cloudjumper's wing, trying to befriend him, but Cloudjumper isn't having any of it. 'No time for playing. We gotta go eat.' He grimaces and follows Valka out, leaving the two Night Furies alone.
'This is the most wonderful place I've ever seen.' Midnight roared.
'Yeah. It's better than the old nest back on Dragon Island.' Toothless roared in agreement
'You think our cubs could be around here somewhere? Because if they are, I really wish we would see them,' Midnight cooed hopefully, still thinking about their cubs.
Toothless looked at her and nuzzled her side. 'If they are, we'll find them, honey. For now let's go, we don't want to miss feeding time.' He cooed back as he and Midnight rushed over to where Cloudjumper, the Haddock twins and Valka are for feeding time.
And what they didn't see were five figures in a dark cave on the left, camouflage in the shadows looking at them, they roared quietly in elation at each other as they saw Midnight and Toothless, and then faded back into the cave through the shadows.
