Chapter 15: The Final Battle
At night times on Berk, Torches burn in their braziers as Berk slumbers... until the Bewilderbeast approaches from the ocean, stomping down on the monolithic Viking statues that guard the harbor with the army of dragons behind it.
At Goth's hut, Gothi was sleeping under her Terrible Terrors when their pupils turn to slits, and heeding the ultrasonic call, they fly off.
Gothi shuffles onto her deck, confused why her Terrors flew off, then gasps at the horrifying sight outside.
In a Vikin's hut, a Gronckle lounges peacefully by the fire, as his Viking owner Hoark lavishes him with scratches.
"Ah, that's a good boy!" Hoark compliment to his dragon.
And then, the Gronckle's eyes suddenly turn to slits and it, too, takes wing, knocking over a chair and table as it heads for the door.
"Watch the furniture!" Hoark calls out to his dragon as his Gronkle barrels out of the hut and into the night sky as Hoark tries to chase after him. "Where are you going?" He yelled out as he rushes to the doorway, spotting the same arresting sight with a gasp.
In the Great Hall, the Viking's inside pour out of the Great Hall as all of Berk's dragons fill the night sky and join the ranks of Drago's growing Dragon Army.
The Bewilderbeast rises out of the sea, bearing down on the people of Berk as Drago hovers on Toothless' back while Midnight is hovering next to her mate since they always flew together, leading the charge. The Vikings stare, aghast.
"Your chief is dead." Drago called out to the people of Berk of his arch enemy have perished. There were waves of shock and whispers of Stoick to the village, not believing that their chief is now dead. "No one can protect you now." he added as Drago thrusts his bull-hook, commanding the Bewilderbeast to fire. The Vikings watch in horror as the Bewilderbeast opens its yawning jaws and blasts it's ice breath on Berk.
Some time later, The Haddock Twins and their friends traveled through the ocean, headed to their home to stop Drago and save their dragon. As they grew closer to their goal, dragons roars grow louder and louder, the gang approach through clouds, racing against time.
They collectively gasp at the sight of Drago's Bewilderbeast having now covered most of the village in explosions of ice. Berk's now commandeered dragons circle in a huddle behind him, joining Valka's flock, and corralled by Drago's armored dragons.
"No…" All that Hiccup could say when he is breathless.
"Our home." Hicca said with a shock look on her face as well.
"He took all the dragons!" Fishlegs called out to the numbers of dragons behind the Bewilderbeast.
"And he froze part of Berk in the process!" Raeda pointed out in rage. "Now it's personal! What's the plan you too?!" she called out to the Haddock Twins.
"Distract the alpha. Try to keep his focus off of Toothless and Midnight." Hiccup explained with a fuming voice with his sister nodding in agreement.
"Uh… How?" Tuffnut asked.
"Have you forgotten who you're riding with and who are around us?" Eret pointed out to himself and the Night Furies kids around them as he brazenly aims his baby dragon toward the Bewilderbeast. "There isn't a dragon alive that I can't wrangle and with these Night Furies by our side, we are unstoppable!" he declared but his baby dragon dives toward the sea instead. "Except for this one!" he admitted.
"Amateur." Snotlout said with a smile, now a little happy that Eret is embarrassing himself.
"Lets go! We have some friends and payback to get!" Hicca declared as he and her brother, along with the five Night Furies (Darkie jumped onto one of its siblings to get to their parents), raced off to get their night furies friends back.
The others shrug and follow. As they get closer, the Bewilderbeast looms bigger and bigger.
In the other part of the village, Berk's Vikings in hiding from Drago and his Bewilderbeast notice the Haddock Twins and the others as approach.
"Look, it's Hiccup and Hicca!" one of them said as the Vikings of Berk cheers in hope and happiness now that the riders are back.
The Bewilderbeast turned around and saw the riders in shock. Drago turned and surprised to see the Haddock Twins and the others approaching. "What?" he asked in shock in confusing.
With an irate huff, the Bewilderbeast focuses on the Haddock Twins along with the five Night Furies kids who are gaining ever closer to Toothless and Midnight. But was distracted when suddenly, a sheep appears in its sight, rising and falling out of view. The Bewilderbeast blinks, confused. It looks down to see Eret catching the falling sheep and reloading it into the game launcher, as Tuffnut cocks the mechanism and Ruffnut pulls the trigger with Raeda counting the points.
"Keep `em coming!" Ruffnut called out to her friends and brother to keep the Bewilderbeast distracted for this plan to work.
"We got a few more points to go to win this game!" Raeda joked, having a fun time.
"Black sheep baby!" Snotlout called out as she tosses the black sheep to Tuffnut.
Exasperated, the alpha inhales, about to blast, when... HONK! The game horn blares, breaking his concentration as it turns, finding the horn unmanned.
He turns, finding the horn unmanned. The Bewilderbeast then returns his focus to the sheep launcher, until the black sheep lands on the his face, bouncing down his facial spines and becoming lodged (Something from a pingpong game).
"Ten points!" Snotlout called out in jokes.
"And this is closer to the end of the game!" Raeda joked as the group laughs for a bit.
The Bewilderbeast shakes the black sheep off and prepares to blast again.
"Uh-oh." Snotlout said in slight fear.
"Now it's game over." Raeda said in slight fear as well.
The Bewilderbeast was about to blast at them, and then…. HONK! The alpha whips around - still no one at the horn.
Behind the horn, Fishlegs was in hiding behind it so it won't see him. He giggling at messing with the Bewilderbeast.
The Bewilderbeast finally lets loose the ice blast, covering the entire horn in jagged spikes... as Fishlegs leaps from the platform before it ice blast got to him.
"I'm okay!" Fishlegs called out.
The Bewilderbeast turned it focus back to the Haddock Twins and the Night Furies kids as they reaches Drago, hovering directly in Toothless and Midnight's sights.
"You two are both certainly are hard to get rid of. I'll say that." Drago said in compliments to the two haddock twins as he also looked at the Night Furies kids. "And you have five more night furies to replace the ones you both lost. You two are prepared for anything, clever." he added with a wicked smile on wanted more night furies by his side.
Hiccup and Hicca ignore him and focus on both Midnight and Toothless', with both still have slitted pupils.
"Toothless? It's me, bud. It's me. I'm right here. Come back to me." Hiccup said as he got closer to his dragon, trying to reach him.
"Midnight? Come back to me, girl. I'm right here for you. I always will be for you. And so will your and Toothless' kids." Hicca said to her dragon, trying to reach her as well.
The Five Night Furies kids, Darkie, Nightshade, Shadow, Starlight and Blaze, hover next to their parents riders, walbling to their parents, tell them they've missed them. Wanting them to come back to them, come back to their kids, come back to their family.
From Toothless and Midnight's sights seeings, The Haddock Twins and the five Night Furies appears as unfamiliar red blurs, still firmly under the control of the Bewilderbeast.
"They are not yours anymore. They belong to the alpha!" Drago declared as he smugly sits back in the saddle, his arms open in invitation. "But please, oh great dragon master and dragon healer, try and take them." He mockly said to them. "They won't missed the second time, even with those five Night Furies by your sides." he boasted.
Both Hiccup and Hicca holds strong, maintaining eye contact with Toothless and Midnight. They both reaches out to touch them while the Night Furies kids float closer to their parents, hoping their love will break them free from the Bewilderbeast control.
"It wasn't either of your faults, you two. They made you both do it." Hiccup said to both the adults Night Furies.
"It was never your faults. They controlled you both to let that happen." Hicca said as he and his brother along with the Five Night Furies came closer.
Drago's amusement fades as Toothless and Midnight stirs. their pupils dilate, then narrows again.
"You both would never hurt him." Hiccup said.
"You both would never hurt us." Hicca added as they got closer that she and her brother touches Toothless and Midnight's snouts as they briefly cooed at the touch. The Night Furies kids came closer and nuzzle their parents heads, adding the extra loved as a family they share.
Drago watches, amazed, as Toothless and Midnight fights the control. "How are you both doing that?" he questioned.
Hiccup and Hicca ignore him as they are still focusing on their dragons. "Please. You two are our best friends, guys." Hiccup said to Toothless and Midnight.
"And our family." Hicca added with a smile.
Bewilderbeast roarsa forceful command, trying to keep Toothless and Midnight under his control.
Toothless and Midnight's pupils jitter, then dilate fully. They both coos sympathetically at their riders.
"Thatta Night Furies! That's it! We're here!" Hiccup said with a huge smile on his face to finally freed their dragons.
"Thatta girl! Welcome back! We're here for you both!" Hicca said with the same reaction as her brother that they finally got their dragons back.
Toothless and Midnight's eyes finally dilate fully and resolve on Hiccup's and Hicca's familiar faces. Then when they notice their kids are next to them, they've nuzzling them with love and relief, happy to be together again.
Drago goes from astounded to alarmed. "No!" Drago strikes Toothless with the bull hook and did the same to Midnight in a vain attempt to regain control.
Toothless and Midnight roars defiantly from the hit they got and Toothless was at rage that Drago hit his mate, he snatches the bull hook in his jaws, and pulls... yanking Drago off of his back and sending him both plummeting to the sea.
Both Night Furies adults looked at their riders with gummy smiles as the Haddock Twins cheered out in victory "Yeah!" they said together as the Night Furies kids roared in happiness to see both their parents freed.
But for Toothless, without a rider, he drops out of the sky as well. Midnight saw this and roars in worried along with her kids. Midnight dives down in hopes of saving her mate from the fall.
"Hang on, bud!" Hiccup cried out as he leaps from the baby dragon, diving after Toothless.
"Wait for me! Midnight!" Hicca yelled as she leaps after her brother.
The Haddock Twins, Toothless, Midnight, the Night Furies kids and Drago fell from the sky, with Midnight and the Night Furies kids diving down to save Toothless, Drago breaks his fall, landing heavily upon the Bewilderbeast's tusk.
As for Hiccup and Hicca tucks their arms with the Night Furies kids beside them, trying to close the gap between them and their Night Fury dragons before they both make impact with the ocean.
"Almost there, buddy. Almost there!" Hiccup called out to Toothless as he is in close range.
"Come on, Midnight! Almost there!" Hicca called out to Midnight as she have manage to get to Midnight and buckle down on the saddle.
As for Hiccup, he reaches Toothless. They pair up and the Night Furies kids follow, mid-air, and skyrocket past Drago as he hobbles to the top of the alpha's head.
Hiccup and Hicca looks back at Drago, now issuing commands from the top of the Bewilderbeast's head.
"Do something!" Drago yelled out in anger of his Bewilderbeast as he pointed his bull hook at the squadron of Night Furies, along with the Haddock Twins.
"We need to get those two apart guys." Hiccup said to the Night Furies and his sister in a firm voice.
"Couldn't agree more, bro." Hicca said in the same voice as his brother.
The Haddock Twins flies their respective Night Furies with the Night Furies kids besides them, they past a flag pole tears two strips of the flag.
The Bewilderbeast blasts in their direction, barely missing them as they disappear around the back of a mountain.
Behind the mountains, Midnight and Toothless stirs a bit, feeling Drago's Bewilderbeast trying to regain control over them.
"We gotta block them out, guys." Hiccup replied to both Midnight and Toothless.
"Do you two trust us?" Hicca asked them.
Both Midnight and Toothless coos, allowing The Haddock Twins blindfolded them with the flags. Hiccup and Hicca calms them with a touch while the Night Furies kids nuzzle their parents, guiding them.
"We can do this." Hiccup started
"You two, and us…" Hicca continued.
"As one." The Haddock Twins said unison.
Hiccup splays Toothless' mechanical tail. Toothless responds, matching the move with the natural half. Hicca guided Midnight close to Toothless by steering her saddle, Midnight responds, turning to the direction where Hicca turned, the Night Furies kids follow their parents, so that they can finished Drago together, as a family.
"That's it. Now let's try this one more time!" Hiccup declared.
"And this time, we're gonna get it right!" Hicca added as she and her brother, along with the Night Furies kids flew together as they peel around the other side of the mountain, heading back toward Drago and Bewilderbeast, passing Astrid, Henry and the cheering Vikings on the ground.
"Take them down, babe!" Astrid cheered for her boyfriend.
"Go show them what you got Hicca!" Henry called out to his girl.
The Viking roar in support as the Haddock Twins and the Night Furies race past.
Valka watches with pride as her kids towards Drago and the alpha. "Go get' em." she said to them with a smile.
The Haddock Twins and the Night Furies are gaining closer to Drago and the alpha. Drago saw this and points his bull hook at them. "Take control of them!" he ordered his Bewilderbeast.
The Bewilderbeast's hiss becomes a furious roar, but to no avail. Hiccup and Hicca clamps their hands over Toothless and Midnight's ear plates, muffling the alpha's commands while the Night Furies kids are still too young to be controlled by the alpha.
"Shut it out, you two." Hiccup said to the two Night Furies.
"STOP THEM!" Drago ordered his Bewilderbeast as it prepares it's ice blasts.
"NOW!" The Haddock Twins called out as Hiccup locked Toothless tail.
Toothless, Midnight and their kids suddenly pulls up, arching over Drago's head! Drago laughs, victorious, then pauses in shock. Above him, what he saw as the Night Furies climbs inverted through the sky, the two blindfolds fall fress, revealing two empty saddles on Midnight and Toothless. Drago whirls around, wide-eyed, to see…
Hiccup and Hicca zooming towards him, their wing-suits deployed, and Hiccup's Dragon Blade trailing Zippleback gas. Drago swipes but misses them. Hicca kicked Drago's bull hook off his only hand as it's been kicked to the ground. Hiccup clicks the lighter and ignites the gas, blasting Drago off his Bewilderbeast with a scream.
Drago plummets, breaking his fall against the massive dragon's spines and landing hard on the ground, his bullhook next to him so he can reach.
The Bewilderbeast whips its tail, trying to swat down the Haddock Twins.
Hiccup and Hicca saw this, getting a sense of deja vu. "Not again." Hiccup groans, in remembering the first time this action effects them.
"I hope this won't end like what happen the last time this happened!" Hicca called out.
"TOOTHLESS! MIDNIGHT! IT'S NOW OR NEVER!" The Haddock Twins called out to their dragons.
Seeing that their riders are in trouble, Toothless and Midnight looked at one another. 'Ready?' Midnight wabled to her mate with a determined smile.
'Ready!' Toothless replied with the same thing as he and Midnight pops open their dorsal blades, their kids follow along by opening their dorsal blades as well, since Valka showed them how to do it before, they arcs skyward, and rejoins Hiccup and Hicca just before colliding with the alpha's tail.
"Come on, guys!" Hiccup called out.
"Let's go!" Hicca added.
Together again, they speed along the length of the thrashing tail…
"Hold on!" The Haddock Twins said unison.
And shoot past the tip of the tail, narrowly making it!
"Yeah! We did it!" Hiccup yelled out cheerfully to them.
"About time we got that move right!" Hicca complimented.
Then they arc through the sky and land a few paces from Drago, kicking up a trail of dust.
Battered and weary, Drago reaches for his bullhook. Hiccup extends and fires up his Dragon Blade, hurling it like a javelin, and sticking it in the ground between Drago and his weapon, singeing his outstretched hand.
"Agghh!" Drago yelled in pain of his singe hand and looked at the Haddock Twins and their Night Furies.
"Hold them there guys!" Hiccup said to the Night Furies as they snarls a warning, ready to blast.
"Give it up Drago. You've lost." Hicca declared as she and her brother put their wing-suits away.
"It's all over now." Hiccup added, but unknown to them, the cloud of dust settles, revealing the Bewilderbeast, rising behind Hiccup and Hicca, ready to blast them instead.
Drago looked up and saw his Bewilderbeast, he grins knowingly. "Or is it?" he jokingly asked them.
Hiccup and Hicca were confused by his tone, and spins around, alarmed in seeing the Bewilderbeast, as a rush of water thunders up the Bewilderbeast's throat.
"Oh, no!/Oh, come on!" Hiccup and Hicca cried out cried out as the Bewilderbeast blasts it's ice breath at them both, but Toothless and Midnight leaps into the way, shielding the twins beneath them. The freezing explosion envelops them both as the ice formed.
Drago laughs to himself as Valka lands her baby dragon and rushes to the icy explosion, hammering away at it desperately with the Night Furies kids next to him, who dodge the ice blasts before it hit them.
"No! No…" Valka cried out for her kids, first she lost her husband and now she lost her kids. "Hiccup, Hicca." she cried out to her childrens.
Gobber, Astrid and Henry was watching from a distance, horrified. As Valka pounds at the ice while the Night Furies kids clawed at it, desperately for their parents, a glows forms from deep within. She realizes what is about to happen and backs away, Drago doing the same when he saw this.
A blasts hunders from inside the ice, shattering it. Toothless and Midnight emerges from the debris, revealing Hiccup and Hicca curled safely under their wings.
Toothless and Midnight are steaming, their black skins glowing blue with rage, their split dorsal blades searing with blue heat, a glow emanating from their flared nostrils. They gave out a loud threatening roar to the Bewilderbeasts before they turns to Hiccup, Hicca and their kids, to check if they're unharmed, then turns their full attention back to the Bewilderbeast. They leaps out of the crater and lands upon an ice spire, roaring ferociously.
The Bewilderbeast bellows back at this affront.
"Their challenging the alpha!" Hiccup called out in disbelief and awed to his sister and mother as Valka came to them.
"To protect you both!" Valka added with the same reaction to her childrens.
Toothless and Midnight both unleashes a salvo of plasma into the Bewilderbeast's face, not letting up, and it was over the six shots.
"That's more then six shots limits!" Hicca called out as Henry came up to her.
"Maybe it's because of this new power they have, that gave them the ability to uses more then the limits shots they have." Henry theroized.
"Maybe." Hicca agreed with the awed and amazement in her face.
The Bewilderbeast roars at this act of insubordination. Toothless and Midnight fires back, time and again, fully in control.
The alpha thrashes his tusks through the ice, trying to smash the two Night Furies, but they deftly spring from spire to spire, continuing their unrelenting attack.
In the midst of the mayhem, the horde of commandeered dragons - both Berk's and Valka's - break free from the control to witness Toothless and Midnight's retaliations.
Toothless and Midnight lands protectively by Hiccup, Hicca, Henry and Valka, commanding the dragons to shift sides. The follow, amassing behind Toothless and Midnight.
Seeing this, Drago panics and rushes toward the Bewilderbeast. "No, no, no, no! Fight back! Fight! FIGHT!" he yelled out to his Bewilderbeast as he clambers up the Bewilderbeast's tusk, totally unhinged. The Bewilderbeast tries to get the dragons to his side again, but couldn't for some reason. "What's the matter with you?" he demanded to the defecting dragons as he turned and saw the Berkians swell in to show their unified support. Drago fumes as Hiccup, Hicca, Midnight and Toothless fly up together onto an ice spire.
"Now do you get it?" Hiccup asked Drago.
Hicca pointed out to the dragons. "This is what it is to earn a dragon's loyalty." he said which shock Drago to his now defecting Dragon Army, still not believing it.
"Let this end now." Hiccup offered Drago the chance to stop this fight.
"Never!" Drago denied. "Come on!" he challenge the twins and their dragons as he hammers the Bewilderbeast, spurring it into a charge.
Toothless and Midnight calls over their shoulders, commanding the dragons to ready themselves. They then blast the Bewilderbeast, mid-charge. Suddenly, Skullcrusher fires. Followed by another, and another.
Hiccup and Hicca looks around, amazed to see the flock of dragons opening fire on Drago and his Bewilderbeast. They've started a rebellion.
Drago is forced to hide from the fiery barrage by taking cover in the tall spines of the giant's crown. "FIGHT! BLAST THEM!" he ordered his Bewilderbeast as the dragons continued their barrage. His prosthetic arm is blasted clean off by one of his own armored dragons.
The Bewilderbeast rears back to cover them all in ice, but Toothless and Midnight lets loose two powerful shots never before. The Bewilderbeast's head is knocked backward by a blue-flame fireball. As the smoke clears, one of its massive tusks fall to the ground, sheared clean off. Drago and his Bewilderbeast glares at Toothless and Midnight.
Toothless and Midnight roars, so loud they can reach to the heavens, commandingly, calling an end to the fight. The Bewilderbeast backs down. Now accepting its defeat.
"The alphas protects them all." The Haddock Twins said unison as they touch their dragons head to calm them down a bit.
Overwhelmed and overpowered, the Bewilderbeast yields to the two new alphas and heeds Toothless and Midnight's commands, retreating into the sea in an explosive splash, taking Drago with him.
The Berkians cheer in victory!
