Now I was very undecided about writing this story because it will be something very different and I guess kind of more like an action movie of sorts but it is just something fun that has been on my mind.

I also never let someone's negative opinion rule my life or try to spoil my enjoyment of something so I decided what was there to be uneasy about in writing something like this even if it's very different? I'm really excited about the story and where I think it will go and hope everyone who reads and will read it enjoy it as well!

THIS ISN'T A LEYTON STORY EITHER. Peyton will be in it of course though!

Just wanted to go on and say that for anybody who was possibly here for that couple haha.

A lot of the story will be told in flashbacks or things of that nature throughout it and I hope that doesn't confuse anybody too much if a chapter starts off with one or anything like that.

Also wanted to say a public thank you to a friend for the little cover art they made for the story:).

It could be labeled as many things but I put Suspense more so for saying "Action" as a genre but this will be a story consisting of Romance heavily, Action/Suspense, Drama, Hurt/Comfort, Friendship in a way, and Family. All of those are big elements or I plan on being big elements throughout the story. Possible adventure as well but we will see how it goes but that too most likely.

Hope you all enjoy the beginning and the crazy ride you will be put on!

Now I'll be quiet.

"Sometimes life sends the unexpected at you. Sometimes life can be beautiful, but sometimes it can be the cruelest.

A person, a man, a woman, a child, or even an infant can be pushed to do things they never thought themselves to be possible of doing. What does that make you if you do such things?

In this case, a man chasing avengement? A sinner?

What are you if you do exactly what pushes you to the point you never thought you reach? Are you exactly what you hate, or are you a necessary evil?

What does it mean if it haunts you every time your eyes close yet you feel no remorse for what you've done? What if there is a demon inside of you that you never knew about and it was slowly becoming your natural face?

Are having these thoughts proof you are aware but don't care or are they telling you that you deserve any pain and hell you endured and will endure?

Despite it all, maybe the thing that hurt you most. Is when the ones you consider to be dear to your heart, break it. Shatter it and wound it. Sometimes you never know how much someone...anyone believing you wouldn't make you feel like you were backed into a corner.

Which leaves you wondering...What's more dangerous?

The man with nothing to lose. Or. The man with everything to lose."

Those troubling thoughts plagued Lucas's mind every passing second since he did what he did, now here he found himself in a diner. Alone, cold, afraid, & lost.

He was a wanted man.

It has been three days and honestly, the thought that he was on the news as a murderer who they sent a manhunt after still shocked him to this very second. He went from Lucas Scott, son of former basketball star and mayor Dan Scott...to Lucas Scott, wanted for multiple counts of crimes for shooting his father.

He wasn't even sure what the hell he was doing.

Not to mention he already felt like an idiot for stopping in a diner to eat but he was so hungry. He hadn't eaten in that three-day span in which he has been on the run, he barely even slept.

Either because he was too scared he would wake up with police sirens surrounding him, badges in his face telling him to put his hands in the air or if he closed his eyes, he would relive the moment he pulled that trigger.

He shoved a few more fries in his mouth as he leaned down in the booth more, his eyes trained on his hat that he set down by the plate.

Despite all of that, the thing that hurt him the most, was how his family and friends treated him when he needed them. He honestly didn't expect them to believe him about Dan killing Keith, but he at least thought he earned the love and respect for them to believe in him.

Especially over Dan.

They all blew him off, some more hurtful than others to him. Except for one person, which still made him smile.

He adjusted the hood on his head as he ate some more of the fries off of his plate, knowing he should hurry up out of there but stupidly enjoying a moment to finally just sit. Nothing was harder than being exhausted yet restless in any attempt to rest.

He just kept seeing that moment.

Still questioning why inside he didn't feel bad about it but he kept seeing it anyway. Well, he did feel bad...or he didn't? God, he wasn't even sure. He definitely and assuredly didn't enjoy it at all, but maybe the reason why he did it is why he can live with it.

Accept it even.

Has he accepted it?

He felt like he was so sure of himself but also so unsure at the same time.

If this was a time he needed someone to talk to, it be now but who could he possibly talk to about this? He can't go see his friends, well if thats what they still were to him at this point now.

He can't go up to a random stranger and just ask "Hey if you killed your father who killed his brother who is also your uncle of course who was like your father because your blood father was a selfish, terrible person who threatened the lives of your mother and everyone else you love...how would you feel?" Saying that in his head caused Lucas to scoff to himself as he took a bite out of his burger.

Some of the ketchup plopped onto the plate and Lucas found his eyes locked on it.

He wasn't seeing ketchup on a plate, all he could see it as was blood. A little splatter at first quickly started forming as a pool of it, it just wouldn't stop even when it was overflowing the plate. Dripping off of the table.

He could feel his breathing begin to become rapid, he felt a cold sweat forming all over, and his mouth felt dry. He sipped from his drink yet it somehow made him feel like his mouth was even drier.

Okay, maybe he wasn't as okay or 'accepted' what all happened as well as he thought just moments ago.

Then the image of shooting Dan flashed in his eyes like tabloid cameras, he pulled his hood down lower as he shoved the bottom of his hands toward his eyes to wipe at them.

Trying to ease whatever the hell torture his mind was playing on him but it really wasn't helping.

He brought his hands from his eyes and clasp them together as if he was praying, trying to take deep breaths just so he can catch it again. Lucas shook his head from the tireless exhaustion he felt kicking his ass internally and externally right now.

He'll never be able to get that image out of his head and maybe he didn't deserve to.

Lucas found himself staring at Dan's recently freshly painted red wall, remembering what Abby told him about what she had been doing. Stalking him, sending secret messages in the hope of spooking Dan into turning himself in.

Now he didn't expect Dan to murder his own brother, but what he never expected would be for Dan to lie down and admit he was wrong. Especially to a court of law, he was too selfish, too stubborn, and honestly just too dark in his heart to do something like that.

He heard footsteps in the background then the door opened. Lucas didn't need to turn around to know who that was so he just spoke "Abby told me she sent you messages." Lucas said as he was looking slightly behind himself before facing the wall again. "Stalked you."

Lucas didn't hear him say anything so he continued on. "Did she write something on this wall, Dan?" Lucas said with a knowing tone at the rhetorical question he asked.

"That girl's crazy. She's gotten inside your head Lucas."

Lucas felt his boiling anger spike for a second. "I know what you did." He said firmly through almost gritted teeth, his voice rising for a moment. Snapping around to face Dan for the first time now.

He felt even more anger bubble inside at not only the nonchalant tone Dan was using but a face he just made as if Lucas was being ridiculous. "But I can't prove it." Lucas said very darkly through more gritted teeth. "So all I can do now is keep you away from my mom."

Dan walked toward him now, stepping around his couch and Lucas felt his fist clench so much to the point they shook. "I can see that you're upset" He spoke like he was talking to a deranged person and was trying to settle him down and Lucas knows he was trying to piss him off because that's what Dan does. "but everything's going to be okay."

He was now face to face with him. "You're going to go off to college and I'm going to stay here & take care of your mom and the baby." He said that with this smile on his face that made Lucas's insides burn.

But Dan was wrong. "That's not going to happen." Lucas said firmly. There wasn't a chance in hell he was going to leave his mother alone with him. It just wasn't going to happen, whether she believed him or not.

He really was feeling backed into a wall rather quickly now.

"You'll realize it's a good thing. Your mom needs me...you'll see." He said confidently like he truly meant it and Lucas thought he saw red in his eyes for a moment after Dan said that. Dan walked past him, and Lucas looked on at the back of his head as he descended deeper into his house.

Lucas's thoughts never felt so driven by darkness as they had at that moment, the things he was thinking about doing he never ever thought he would even have thoughts like that cross his mind.

A wall he truly felt pressed against right now.

Lucas's mind exited that moment now, reliving the small yet humungous steps that occurred which led him to doing the unthinkable. Still having a mental war on how he felt about it, at least he had calmed down now though.

He still couldn't believe what Dan said after Dan started walking deeper into the house, it still shocked him to this day. That's what led to him doing what he did, he did it for his friends and family & they'll probably hate him forever but he needed to protect them from him. Especially his mother.

He wiped at his face to get rid of any tears that dare threatened to escape when he was having a small breakdown only moments ago. Realizing he has stuck around too long but wanted to finish his meal in a hurry so he wouldn't be hungry for a while.

He took two bites out of his burger which pretty much finished all he had left of it and then ate a couple more fries as his mind kept thinking about what the hell was next. The only thing was, all kept thinking about was the past, not the future.

Lucas kept thinking about how in his mind he said Dan was too selfish, stubborn, and dark in the heart to turn himself into the cops. Because if that's how he felt about Dan...then how come he hadn't turned himself in?

Why had he run three days ago after he shot him?

Because he was like Dan or because he felt what he did was right for everybody? Here he was again on this same subject about his feelings toward all of this. He didn't break down this time but just let out an exasperated breath and closed his eyes in fatigue of it all.

Lucas's thoughts were interrupted by a voice coming from the background "Police are still trying to locate and apprehend fugitive Lucas Scott who is still at large after shooting and murdering his father, the mayor of Tree Hill. If you see him anywhere, please call 911 immediately. The police have said he is to be considered armed & dangerous so do not approach if you spot him." The newscast said from the TV in the little diner and on that note, Lucas knew it was time to get the hell out of there.

Seeing his face on the TV screen for being a wanted man was never something he thought would happen in his life.

He threw the money down on the table of the booth he was in, grabbed the hat he had set down, and quickly put it on as he slid his hood back onto the top of his head. Time to get out of Tree Hill...somehow.

But then he went back to that mental argument again, he did wrong so he should turn himself in...yet he continues to run. Why?

Was it because he was scared which of course that's apart of it or was it because despite how terrible he felt about doing it, he felt like it was right? He wished he had some sort of answer to that question but for now, he'll stick to figuring it out on the outside of bars.

Lucas let out another breath at the mental strain that this tug of war in his mind was causing, now standing to make his exit out of the diner and soon-to-be Tree Hill. He went to walk before all of a sudden a man stepped in front of him.

He was a black man with close-cropped black hair along with a groomed mustache & a stubble of a goatee on his chin and under his lip. He wore an all-black suit that was clearly designer of some sort, a black trench coat with it, and he had this confident aura glistening off of him as well.

Then he spoke as Lucas froze in place "Going somewhere, Lucas?" His voice was a little deep but well-spoken. Lucas however assumed this guy must be a cop of some sort so he was about to try and turn around to run. Feeling a nervous tension build up along with his fear.

This was it...

He made the motion to turn but the man spoke once again. "I'm not here to turn you in." He said with an extremely small smirk. "Well, not to the police." He said next and Lucas swallowed even more nervously.

"Who are you?"

"I'm you about thirteen years ago." He answered and Lucas's brows furrowed at his answer. "As far as my name though, Everson Strucker, nice to meet you." Lucas notice that he always spoke with this calm sense of confidence.

He held out his hand but Lucas just eyed it, completely flabbergasted to what was going on right now.

Strucker just chuckled for a moment as he placed his hand down "Let's take a seat." Lucas watched as he slid into the booth but Lucas still hadn't moved a muscle, brows still furrowed as he watched Strucker get comfortable.

Everson looked up at him with another extremely small smirk. "The longer you stand, the more you stand out."

Lucas looked around for a moment, not knowing exactly what he should do in this situation right now. But he decided whatever it was, standing definitely wasn't going to be what he did for an extended period of time so he slid into the booth now.

Although slowly and cautiously.

Lucas glanced around quickly to make sure no one saw him then went back to looking at the man who proclaimed his name to be Strucker who chuckled some more. "We're going to have to fix that." He shrugged a little. "Well if you'll let me."

Lucas stopped fidgeting around and froze again as he looked at him, the tension of frustration at all of the vague or mysterious answers agitating him in his current climate. "Fix what?" Lucas asked through an irritable hiss.

"A man on the run who doesn't look like a man on the run always runs the easiest."

"What?" Lucas's annoyance was growing, this guy probably was a cop and just messing with him. "You know what" Lucas move to stand but was stopped by his voice once again.

"They already made you." He said calmly.

Lucas glanced around for a moment but didn't see any police officers, detectives, or agents of any sort around and all of the people didn't appear to recognize him. Everybody looked normal to him. "Nobody's here." Lucas said as he went back to looking at him.

"You're wrong. Look again." Strucker said as he popped the top off the drink Lucas had to sip from it, chuckling once again. "You kids and your soda." Lucas didn't pay any attention though because he didn't see anything he was talking about.

Strucker realized Lucas wasn't seeing it. "The man in the corner behind me on the left with the newspaper." He said to Lucas and Lucas glanced at Strucker and was about to stare at him until Strucker cut off his attention with his voice once again. "Don't look at him, use your peripheral."

Lucas still was completely confused about why this guy was helping him so he eyed him again for a moment before doing as he was told. "He just reading a newspaper." Lucas shrugged.

Strucker shook his head. "You have been in here north of fifteen minutes and he hasn't flipped the page once, nor has his eyes averted from the same section. Now I know the newspaper isn't always thrilling but that seems like quite a while to be looking at a sports section." He smiled a little as he said it and then Lucas kind of realized what he meant. "Look for the most ordinary thing and that'll show you who is actually who and who isn't."

So Lucas looked around again but was stopped by Strucker's voice again. "Nope." Then Lucas looked at him with furrowed brows once again. Everson shook his head. "You look like you're looking for someone."

Lucas shrugged at the obviousness of this. "Uhh, I kind of am." Why was he listening to this guy again?

"When you look for someone, don't just look around. Be natural." He said and Lucas knew what he meant but how can you look behind you without showing your looking for someone?

"How?"

Strucker shrugged. "You tell me. Let's see what you got."

Lucas honestly didn't know what to make of this, a random guy walks up to you and is helping a wanted fugitive who he doesn't know? What the hell was this but he looked around and saw the waitress walking by him and thought of an idea.

He let her walk by him some more then turned around to get her attention. "Excuse me?" Lucas said to her and she faced him now & Lucas now could see behind him and it was a woman on the right who he remembered was there with the same meal she had when he first came and it barely looked touch as she was on a phone. That you could say was nothing much to go on but Lucas was pretty sure he saw the outline of a gun under her jacket.

On the other side of the diner, it was another woman who looked away quickly with a slight giggle when she thought his eyes almost glanced at her. "Can you get my friend here a tea please?" He said to the waitress and she looked at Strucker who gave her a charming smile.

"He's buying." He shrugged with his hands.

"Coming right up." She said with a welcoming smile. Part of Lucas was worried she recognize his face but it didn't appear as if she did. Lucas look back at him and Strucker made a face and shook his head in slight approval.

"Not too bad, not too bad." He clasped his hands together before speaking again. "Did you see who you should be looking for though?"

Lucas sighed. "On the right, she hasn't touched her food and I think she has a gun." Lucas swallowed nervously at that. "On the other side, she was looking at me then looked away quickly." Lucas looked at him anticipatingly, wondering if he was right.

Strucker smiled. "One out of two. Not too bad at all Lucas."

Lucas was wondering which one he missed on. "I don't understand."

"You're right about her with the gun but not the other." Lucas made a face asking for him to continue. "I guess she doesn't watch or pay attention to a lot of TV because she just thinks your cute." Strucker said with a little amused smile. "The waitress though." Then Lucas looked at him with some realization and fear.

"So they're all cops?" Lucas asked him.

Strucker shook his head a little. "The one behind me and the one behind you are detectives but haven't been able to get a good look at you until now and the FBI is way better at being discreet so it isn't them." He nodded his eyes up past Lucas. "And the waitress is a good actor because she watched the TV when your face was on it and realized it was you when you called her over for that tea which is taking a while to get I might add." He finished saying and Lucas felt a big lump grow in his throat, so it was over then. "Guess now we know why." Strucker said as he nodded his head past Lucas smoothly.

Lucas pretended to be twisting his neck a little to work out a kink in it and saw she was on the phone. A more panicked Lucas turned back to look at him. "So what do we do?" Lucas asked him and Lucas honestly couldn't believe he just asked that. He is asking a rather strange man who has a weird deep knowledge of this stuff how to evade all of this. What was his life becoming?

"We don't do anything. I get up and leave to get in my car outside. You have to make a choice."

Lucas's brows furrowed again which has been happening a lot. "Choice about what."

"Whether or not you'll be joining me in that car." He said simply.

Lucas leaned forward. "What is this? You come up to me, I don't know you and you don't know me. You help me out...I think and your not a cop but you know all this stuff but won't turn me in but you're definitely not the most ordinary thing in here." Lucas mocked how Strucker said it earlier which earned him a tiny laugh.

He spoke as his tiny laugh waned. "I'm going to keep this simple for you Lucas." His face grew serious now. "Your life. It's over." He said firmly but sorrowfully. Lucas was going to argue with him on that but he wasn't wrong.

He just never thought about it until now.

Lucas Eugene Scott currently was a wanted man on the run, Lucas honestly didn't realize that the moment he pulled that trigger and ended Dan's life, he also was ending his as well. Obviously, he knew there was going to be no good from it but some things don't pop into your mind until they dawn on you that you can't have it anymore.

Strucker eyed the waitress behind him once again then went back to looking at Lucas. "This life of yours is dead but I can give you a new one but better." He said in this way that intrigued Lucas but made him a little uncomfortable for some reason. "I know where you are Lucas because I've already been there." Lucas could tell he meant that a little deeper than how it came out so he wasn't surprised when he elaborated.

"You are here lost & alone with no direction... that's why I'm here. I can & will teach you a lot of things if you'll allow me to do so but I can give you the most important thing that you don't have."

Lucas scoffed a little at that. "What's that? An escape route?"

Strucker had another very small smile of amusement appear on his face. "Sure." He said and Lucas just shook his head at all of this craziness, his gaze looking down at the table. "But I'm talking about family." Lucas heard him say next, causing him to look back up at him. "When I was reading up on you it said you like literature...this chapter of your life is over Lucas and it hurts because that's the end of the book." Lucas could feel tears brimming in his eyes at the burning realization of all of this.

His life really was over.

"I'm just here to help you write the next one and to make it your greatest." Lucas had to admit, he made a good sales pitch but this all still was too much and seemed very strange. It didn't even make sense still. The more he talked, the more Lucas had questions.

"It still doesn't explain why you are helping me and how you even can in the first place." Lucas said to him, watching Strucker view the waitress behind once more who just got off the phone.

"All questions that will be answered in great detail if you join me. Because you're out of time." He said as he begin sliding out of the booth, readying himself to leave. "The people close to you failed you" He fixed his coat up as he officially stood all the way up. "Don't fail on yourself. If you decide to come with me, head out the back that way." He nodded his head behind Lucas who was confused why he wouldn't walk out the front with him. "If you decide to do it on your own" He smirked again. "Well then enjoy your prison sentence." He said then turned and left out the front of the diner.

Lucas sat there for a moment, knowing that no matter what, he had to leave here.

But would he go out the back and go with whoever this guy was and claim he could do for him or would he strike out on his own? In all honesty, going with Strucker seemed like a terrible, almost idiotic idea to him. I mean the guy talks in code almost and Lucas had no true idea what he was offering when he said all that stuff.

For all he knows, this guy was recruiting criminals for something terrible. But Lucas also knew he wasn't going to make it on his own, and this Strucker guy seemed to know what he was doing.

The problem was, why did he? Why does he know all of this stuff and how? Why help him out when he was a fugitive? What could a man possibly want with a wanted fugitive? There probably was no good going to come from this but the more Lucas thought about it...the more he warmed up to it.

His life was over. It still was hurting deep inside knowing that as well.

He felt so alone, so lost, and so hopeless but as much as he hated to admit it...This Everson Strucker guy kind of gave him something. Lucas wasn't too sure what it was but it was something that gave Lucas a want to keep on fighting inside.

So he took a deep breath and stood to head toward the back. Trying to appear as normal as possible so the cop wouldn't think he was on the run but simply just getting up to leave. He ignored the giggling girl who he now realized Strucker was right about, she wasn't some cop or secret service agent or anything. Just a regular high school girl.

Lucas wishes he could tell her how lucky she is to be just that.

He made sure to avoid eye contact with the waitress who probably called the police and will be the reason why this place is storming with cops in a few moments.

Now he made his way to the back of the diner fully and exited out the door, Strucker said he was parked out front so Lucas assumed that meant he had to walk around and join him up there. The only thing he can assume Strucker wanted him to go out the back is for some sort of discreetness.

Lucas sighed as he soaked in the night air of Tree Hill possibly for the last time ever. Fixing his hat and hood as well for no particular reason as he scratched at the light stubble of a beard that grew in little patches along his cheek.

He was about to walk now until off into the distance he saw someone he recognize but he wasn't sure. He stepped forward some more to get a better look and it didn't take him long to recognize who it was.

"Brooke." He said lowly to himself as he watched her stroll to wherever she was going.

It actually didn't look like she was going anywhere, she just looked like she was walking. Probably to think but this was pretty far from where he lived or she did so it was odd that she was here but then he saw Chase come running up behind her and she gave him a weak smile. That explains why she was out here then, Chase probably was trying to cheer her up somehow.

She looked sad now that Lucas really saw her. He stepped closer to the wall to avoid being seen by them as they walked on. He could walk to the front now and they wouldn't see him at all actually but he found himself lost in thought gazing after her.

Everybody who he told about Dan turned him away or didn't really hear him out.

Everybody.

Except for Brooke...

Brooke out of all people who had no reason to listen to him, hear him out, or believe him was the only one who didn't shun him away. Haley his best friend, Peyton his girlfriend, Nathan his brother, and Karen his own mother either berated him or just didn't believe him.

All of them cut his soul deeply but he didn't hold it against Nathan too much. He can understand why he feels that way and reacted to him the way he did. Dan was both their father but he had only ever been one to Nathan and Nathan was one of the many people who was proud and very happy that Dan appeared to be changing finally this year.

Well at least not being as terrible as he usually was but now they know that was out of guilt. Well, Lucas knows.

Even then, the man was trying to get with Karen, not only the same woman he abandoned years ago along with Lucas but also the same woman who was grieving over the loss of the man he killed and who she loved probably as much as Lucas.

To Lucas that was just so damn wrong and twisted but in Dan's mind he probably thinks he was somehow 'doing the right thing'. Lucas ignored the thoughts about Dan though and went back to his final thoughts on Nathan and then back to Brooke.

So for Lucas to come to him and tell Nathan that Dan did something as awful as killing his own brother, he can understand why Nathan got so pissed about it and didn't believe him. It hurt, it hurt a lot but he understood.

But as he said, out of all of the people, he didn't expect Brooke Davis to hear him out, he didn't deserve it from her but she did anyways. He watched as she was walking but her eyes were staring down at her feet and Chase looked like he wish he knew what to do to make her happy.

Lucas couldn't see him anymore though, he was locked on the beautiful girl he was walking with. Thinking about the moment he went to her house that day, not expecting anything only for her to give him everything.

"You think he did what?!" Brooke exclaimed in shock as Lucas just nodded his head, this part Lucas was used to by this point. Everybody always reacted the same it was the part after which they would start calling him crazy.

However, that didn't happen this time. "How did you find out?" Brooke asked and she couldn't resist or didn't even notice the hand that went onto his knee consolingly.

Lucas's brows furrowed. "Wait you believe me? You're not going to yell at me, call me crazy, or anything else?" He asked in genuine disbelief.

Brooke sighed. "Look Lucas I know we have had a umm...interesting year." She laughed nervously for a second. "But despite everything that went wrong" They both made a face of agreement at that, she paused though as she gazed into his eyes. "Not saying I believe Dan did...well that's because that's just so unbelievable" She shook her head at thinking Dan killed his own brother." Lucas felt the disappointment build up in him once again as she said that. He thought she was going to believe him.

Letting the silence set the tone though she locked in on his eyes, wanting to show she was meaning everything she was about to say next. "Just because I can't believe that doesn't mean I don't believe in you. At the end of the day, you try to always do the right thing even when you make your mistakes. I believe in you, Lucas Scott." She said with this affectionate smile and Lucas felt his chest flutter at her words.

"And I'm sure Peyton would say the same-" But Brooke got cut off by him lunging at her and wrapping his arms around her in a loving hug. She made a little 'oh' sound but hugged him back soon after.

Lucas allowed his forehead to rest against hers as he untangled his arms from around her. "You have no idea how much I needed to hear that." He said with tears brimming in his eyelids. Brooke felt slightly uncomfortable because he was Peyton's boyfriend now and being this close with him felt very intimate but she also couldn't deny how much she missed it. "Thank you, Brooke...Thank you so much." He said as he took himself out of her personal space so much and sniff down the tears that wanted to escape.

Brooke meant every word she said to him, yes he had broken her heart twice and they had their difficulties but she was doing what he did for her a couple of years ago almost now. She used to believe everybody saw her as a brainless slut but he believed in her for being more than that and he was the first to ever say it, show it, and make her feel it.

So despite all of the not-so-great moments between them, she always chose to believe in him doing what's right or what he thinks is best. She out of all people knows, Lucas Scott can surprise you whether it's good or bad.

Guess they always had that in common.

She noticed a look on his face though and she couldn't quite describe it, it was that brooding face he always makes. But also a lot darker than usual, like he had a lot on his mind and it was disturbing him. He did just say he believes Dan killed his uncle though so she just chalked it up to that.

He turned his gaze back to her and a sadder look was in his eye. "I'm going to miss you, Brooke." His voice cracked a little as he spoke.

Brooke giggled a little at how dramatic he was being. "It's just graduation Luke, not like we'll never see each other again." As she said it, Lucas looked like he wanted to correct her on something but balled up his lips and just shook his head with a little laugh. "You are talking about graduation right?" She asked, a little more worried than before.

He still had that look on his face even though he tried to smile. "Yeah...Graduation." He wiped at his eyes and she could tell he was very tired but she didn't want to sound too worried for him like she use to. They had already been a little too close, he was with Peyton now and she had Chase. He cleared his throat before speaking again. "I should go...I have to go do something." He stood to leave now and she watched him as he headed for the door but all of a sudden he stopped as his hand touched the knob.

"Brooke..." He called her name and turned around to face her like he wanted to say something but was a little nervous to say it. She made a face signaling to him that she was listening and that he could speak which he didn't do immediately, it was like he was trying to find the words or courage. "I know you didn't tell me why you dumped me but..." He turned his gaze from the floor to gazing into her eyes as she did earlier. "Sorry, I was never there for you the way you always are for me." He said sadly and Brooke almost wanted to scream.

He finally understood was all she could think. Finally!

It's funny though because that was the second reason why she dumped him, the first was for Peyton. The second reason just made the sacrifice she made more logical and easier to accept, well part of her thinks she still hasn't accepted it fully.

It brought up old heartbreak though so she just gave him a very weak smile and he balled up his lips again and nodded his head as he opened the door. "Goodbye." He said with an almost miserable smile.

For some reason to Brooke, that goodbye felt final, not like a see you later.

Lucas was standing outside for a moment now but felt much more sure of himself in what he had to do. Dan needed to be stopped one way or another and it looks like for his family and friends too even if they didn't believe him. Especially after what Dan said when he was walking deeper into the house earlier.

Everyone was probably going to hate him now and think of him as a monster but he would do what he needed to do.

He looked back at the door he just exited though. "Really am going to miss you pretty girl." He said as he begin his quest to go get a gun.

Lucas couldn't help the small smile that tugged onto his lips as he watched her walk off into the distance. He would always be grateful for what she said, gave him the courage to do what he did although he wishes it wouldn't have to turn out that way but as long as they all were safe.

The more he thought about it, the more he realized she was always the one believing in him.

He didn't mind thinking about her all night if he was being honest but then sirens in the background shook him out of his thoughts quickly. Time to go...with Strucker. This was either going to be pretty good, really bad, or just flat-out awful.

Lucas began to walk now until he heard a voice call out "Freeze!" From behind him and he felt his heart stop and lunge into his throat. It was over. He closed his eyes in disappointment at it all as he held his hands up in surrender. "Slowly!" The female voice said from behind him and Lucas did as he was told, realizing it was probably the same cop or agent that he saw behind him.

He heard her take a few steps forward until she made an odd noise and he heard a thud as if she just hit the ground. Lucas snapped around to see that he was right, there she was knocked out on the cement which led to the next question. Who?

Lucas looked up to see the waitress there and his brows furrowed. "You take a really long time." She said agitated and her voice was soft but had a little wisp in it, some would probably say it was soothing. Lucas however was flat-out confused because what the fuck?

"What the fuck?" He asked her as his hands were still above his head in surrender.

"Can't get you one of those but I can get you out of here." She said as she started checking the cop she just knocked out, Lucas wasn't even sure what she was doing or why. Wasn't she just calling the police on him?!

Lucas still had his hands up, watching her work. "What the fuck?!"

"Would you stop saying that!" She looked up now and murmured "Okay no wires or cop cams" under her breath before she realized what Lucas was still doing. "Why do you still have your hands raised." Now her brows were furrowed.

Lucas's mouth opened but no words came out, he looked at both of his hands before realizing he didn't know why he still had them raised either so he dropped them awkwardly. "What are you doing? Weren't you just calling the cops on me?" He barely hissed at her in confusion.

She walked up to him now "No. Boss just wanted you to hurry up and so did I so I can take off this ridiculous outfit. Let's go." She walked past him with her hands in the pockets of the skirt of the waitress outfit but Lucas hadn't moved yet then she turned around when she realized he wasn't following. She took one of her hands out of her pockets and pointed behind her head off into the distance.

Her face resembled someone who thought Lucas may have gone dumb. "You do realize those sirens are for you right?" She said referring to the nearing police sirens you could hear nearby the second.

"By boss you mean Strucker? You work for him?" Lucas asked next and she rolled her eyes as she took a breath.

"Yes, obviously idiot." She said in disbelief at him not hurrying up.

"Idiot?" Lucas repeated with a raised brow, thinking she was bold but rude.

"Would you prefer dummy?" She asked as if she was being sincere but was clearly sarcastic as ever. He gave her an unamused grimace but she continued speaking. "Look come if you want but we have to get out of here either with or without you." She just started walking off without him now and Lucas watched her leave taking in her appearance more now than he had earlier.

She had a very defined and sharp jawline, caucasian skin that gleamed but he saw some scars on the parts of her body that were exposed. Her hair was extremely dirty blonde to the point where it was almost brunette, it was cut to the point that the tips were barely touching her shoulder as well. She had piercing blue eyes but they had a look to them. A look Lucas knew all too well.

A brooding look.

Like she has seen hell and was reliving it every moment she blinked.

She was maybe twenty or twenty-one and she looked like she was probably 5'5 or 5'6 with a slender frame but healthy, tremendous shape because Lucas swore he could see the outline of an ab through the waitress outfit she was wearing.

He watched as she walked toward the destination that he decided he would be joining her and Strucker in apparently, sighing as he begin catching up to her. He was hoping he see Brooke one more time as he walked up but she was nowhere in sight so Chase & her must have arrived where they wanted to go.

He heard the sirens in the background getting closer and realized they probably only had seconds before they arrived so he jogged up a little to catch up to her as they turned the corner, he saw a big black SUV and the door opened as she got in the passengers' seat.

Lucas looked in to see Strucker in the back and there was a driver. "Glad you could make it. I see you've met Veylana." He said with that usual confident but calming tone. "You goin' keep standing outside to get arrested or you goin' get in?"

"You have to excuse him, he processes things slow." Lucas heard the girl whose name was Veylana apparently say. Hearing the insulting tone as she was undoing the waitress's shirt.

Lucas's eyes glanced over at her and he looked at the empty seat. "This is crazy." He said and for a slight moment he thought about not doing it, but he got in and shut the door. Strucker's small smile grew a little more in satisfaction.

Lucas heard him tell the driver lets get out of here then the car started and they drove off as the police cars ascended amongst the diner now, not knowing Lucas Scott was leaving.

"Isn't the black SUV kind of a cliché?" Lucas poked a little fun which earned a small chortle from Strucker.

"Clichéd but effective."

Lucas sighed once more as he took off the hat but slid his hood back on as Veylana through the waitress's button-up shirt at him and he ducked it as it went flying to the back, earning her a glare from Lucas but she did not care. She had on a tank top though so she wasn't just half nude in the car.

"Couldn't wait huh?" Strucker said to her and she never turned around but answered him anyway.

"You know I hate these stupid ass outfits." She sounded irritated and he just chuckled again, didn't take a spy to tell that they have had this conversation more than once before.

Lucas ignored their little banter and asked a question he found himself asking mentally almost every passing moment since he did what he did. "Now what?"

Strucker eyed him for a moment before looking out the window. "Now we make you disappear. Face off the news, dead to the world."

Lucas shrugged "Okay and how do we do that?"

Strucker turned to look at him again with that same very small smile he always seemed to have. "Dummy." He heard from the front seat and he had a feeling that Veylana was an acquired taste you got used to...hopefully.

"How else?" Strucker said to him and Lucas hated it when he does that, he can never just answer. "I'm going need you to trust me." He said more seriously.

"Why?" Lucas asked, not liking the feeling he was getting from this.

Strucker had a grin grow on his face. "Because we're going have to shoot you."

AN: When it comes to Strucker he is based on an actor named Jason R. Moore, and for Veylana I based her on an actress named Laura Vandervoort, just wanted to let you all know if you wanted to search up what they look like to get a better feel for it all.

Hope you all enjoyed the introduction and a good portion of this story will be told during flashbacks which will be italicized so I hope nobody minds that too much.

This story at the current moment will be updated very, very slowly because I'm still writing "Mortality of Life Altered By The Trigger" and finishing that one up along with my other fanfic about another TV Show so this one will be updated very sporadically at the moment. Possible weeks in between at times sadly, but we will see.

Don't want to have too many stories and mess up the quality so I hope you all are patient with me haha!

Just wanted to upload this and get it out there to kind of get a feel for how everyone is receiving it. I still will write it of course even if it's mostly negative, really excited about it and hope it's mostly positive reviews of course but we will see haha.

Hope you all enjoyed!
