Chapter 34
Lucas glared at the man his arrogance sense of entitlement. Lucas was well aware that being a father was so much more than writing a check.
(Once I know you're real motivation here I'll decide what happens next.) Lucas said.
(You're a stranger. He has a routine. After school activities. Family. Friends.)
(I'm not sending him on a plane. Just to see you.) Lucas added in.
(So I have to play by you're rules? As his biological father I have rights.) Clay said.
(As the father listed on the birth certificate. And with Peyton out of the picture.)
(The only parent he's ever known. I have more say here.)
(If this matters to you. Move to Tree Hill. Otherwise you'll stay out of his life.) Lucas said. Before leaving.
Days Later
Brooke had taken the boys to school on her way to work.
The small town abuzz about Clay Evans impending move to Tree Hill.
Lucas awoke to an envelope in the mail from a lawyer's office.
He went inside and opened it.
Clay Evans from his lawyer. Asking for custody of Sawyer.
Clearly Clay Evans wasn't going away. He wanted a place in Sawyer 's life even by force.
Lucas got showered and dressed. And met with his own lawyer.
Needing clarity on what to do next.
...
Brooke wanted to concentrate on work but hearing about Clay 's impending move to town.
Just distracted her alot.
And it didn't help to see her mother lighting up with excitement. At the thought of Clay being so close.
(This is wonderful news. You're father and I are already planning a dinner for the three of us to catch up.)
(I still can't believe you let him get away. For Lucas Scott of all people.) Victoria said.
Clay was the man her wanted and dreamed of all her life for Brooke.
Her breaking him was something her parents didn't grasp at all.
(Him and I are not on speaking terms and I would appreciate you not bringing up Lucas at all.) Brooke replied.
