-inside the scroll room-

The rest of the family had seated themselves around the round table inside of the scroll room, with Misako standing next to her husband in order to present her findings. She could'nt help but notice how all of her children were avoiding eye contact with her or how one of her sons had not entered the room with them.

"Where is Kai?" She asked, mainly to Wu.

"Kai will not be joining us for now." Wu replied simply.

"Ok, can we just get on with this so she can leave?" Jay blurted out, looking somewhat agitated. Misako turned her stare to him.

"Of course, Jay Bird."

"Dont call me that."

Everyone knew that Jay hated being called that name now. It had been a pet name given to him by his mother, but when she left, he got angry at anyone who used it on him, except maybe Lloyd.

"Ok, fine," she said, narrowing her eyes at Jay, who had reverted his gaze back to the floor, " I am back here today to explain to you the reason why I left you in the first place."

"As you all know, your grandfather, the First Spinjitzu Master, was the one who created Ninjago, and before he passed many years ago, he sought for a prophecy to predict his two childrens future. The prophecy stated that his eldest son, Garmadon, would be banished to the Underworld only a few short weeks after his death, having been bitten by the Great Devourer as a child. There was nothing he could do for him, so he turned to his second son, Wu, your father. The prophecy stated that Wu would have five children, and so as a gift for his grandchildren, he divded his power into five to give to his grandchildren; Zane had Ice, Cole got Earth, Kai had Fire, Nya had Water and Jay got Lightning."

She paused briefly when she heard Cole whisper to Nya "Not much of an element if you ask me." To which Jay, who was sitting on Coles other side, responded by zapping him under the table, which resulted in Kai trying to stifle a yelp and Nya and Jay dissolving into fits of giggles.

"Children, control yourselves." Their father repriminded.

"Sorry, father," they all mumbled sheepishly.

"As I was saying," she contuinued, "the prophecy stood correct for 12 years until Wu and his family were surprised by the blessing of a sixth child, a fifth son."

She paused for a minute, suddenly finding herself wondering what her little baby looked like now. She was ashamed to say that she only remained at the Monestary long enough to recover fully from the birth and name the child before leaving in seach for answers. She hadnt seen him since he was a newborn; for all she knew he could have different colour eyes, or hair. He could be tall or short, or fat or thin, she just didnt know. In some ways, she regreted leaving her family. Most of her children had still somewhat resembled children when she left, and now they were all legal adults. But she knew ot had been the right choice.

"Misako? You were saying?"

"Ah, yes, I left soon after Lloyds birth, not because I was ashamed of him, but because I wanted answers."

"Yes, what a great idea it was to leave your husband with a bunch of hyperactive, elemental teenagers and a newborn on top of a mountain in search for answers," Jay said, looking bored. " Did you know that because you left, father got extremley paranoid? Lloyd never left the monastery, or met a kid his own age, all because you encpuraged him to believe that something bad would if he even so much as stepped foot outside-"

"Jay, thats enough." Wu said sternly.

"But-"

"No buts, they are for sitting. Go and find Kai and Lloyd, you are excused from this conversation." He said, leaving no room for an argument.

Jay looked around at his family to see if anyone was going to reject, but then resigned, "Fine..." And he stomped out of the room, slamming the door behind him.

"I am sorry about him," Wu said to Misako, "he is usually more controlled than that."

"No, please dont, this must be a lot for him right now."

But she couldnt help but think about what Jay had said. Had Lloyd truly never met another child? When the others were small, they used to take trips once a week to a Kids Club in Ninjago city, to make sure that they all had at least the option to talk to other children similar to their own ages. Had Lloyd seriously been denied that?

"Misako? Please, contuinue."

-with Kai and Lloyd-

Kai had settled Lloyd down with some math work a while ago, and was currently making him a sandwich to tick him over until dinner, assuming it would be much later than usual considering the time. He could tell Lloyd was getting anxious; they had been in the scroll room for over an hour now. After Kai had scooped him up from putside the scroll room door and they had had a good chat about 'lifes problems', as Lloyd put it, Jay had shown up in a strop having been sent out for 'speaking his mind', but knowing Jay, he probably forgot to take his ADHD meds and had an episode. He was currently lying face down on the floor of the kitchen having ranted to Kai and Lloyd and then screamed his emotions out into the rug. Kai cut Lloyds sandwich into 4 and put them on a plate, before heading to the table.

"Hows the math?" He said, placing the sandwich in front of him, ruffling his hair and taking a seat opposite him. Lloyd scowled and smoothed his hair down again, but made a 'so-so' gesture with his hand.

"Ooh your doing math." Jay said, popping up from behind Lloyds chair and sitting next to him. "What grade are you anyway," he said, inspecting the work sheet," grade 5?"

"Noooo, i'm grade 2!"

"Damn, you're more little than I thought."

"Hey! You know i'm 7!"

"Yeah, buddy, I know, I was jus' messin' with ya!"

Lloyd 'hmphed' and rested his head on the table.

"I'm borreeeddd."

"Hey bored, i'm Kai, nice to meet you."

Lloyd glared at him and Jay snickered.

"When are they done?"

"Hmm, not sure," Kai said, checking his watch," It has been a while..."

As if on cue, the door to the kitchen opened and his famiky filed in. Lloyd tried to decipher their faces for some sort of clue but nothing happened. His father came in last followed by the woman that was supposed to be his mother.

"Well," his father cleared his throat, "we have some news for you... Big news actually. Your whole life is about to change.."
