To say that Adam was on top of the world was an understatement. The football season was one of the best in years for their school, he had a full ride to college as long as he kept his grades up, something that Kim was working hard with him to do. He had Kim in his corner, and in his arms, and there was nothing better than that. He was sitting at his desk in his room working on a math homework and she was laying down on her stomach, reading a book, waiting for him to be done.
"You shouldn't be lying on my bed like that." His head was down slightly but his eyes could see her move her legs against his bed.
"You should be working on solving that math homework." She said without looking up at him.
"It's hard to concentrate when you're distracting me like that." Since they had made out in his car two weeks before, Adam couldn't take his mind off that moment where he wanted her so bad, but had promised that it would happen when the moment was right. He wanted her, he couldn't deny it, but their mutual flirting was getting hard to control the urges that were growing in him.
"Distracting you how?" She put her book aside and rolled on her back, lifting her hands over her head to stretch, prompting her shirt to ride up her abdomen.
"Like that." He growled, getting up from the chair and crawling on his hands and knees over her. "You are doing it on purpose." He watched her pull her bottom lip between her teeth.
"No I'm not." She released her lip and licked it with a giggle.
"Yes you are." He put his weight on her and kissed her. One hand was running under her shirt and the other was holding her hands firmly above her head with his own, not allowing her to squirm out from under him. She raised her leg against his side, his own leg causing friction at her core, a moan escaping her lips. When he finally released her hands, one of them found its way under his t-shirt and the other in his hair. They were oblivious, their world around them fallen away as they made out. Adam smirked into the kiss when he felt goosebumps raise on Kim's skin as he moved his hand against it. Their bodies moved as one, acting like magnets.
"You, are, so, full, of, yourself." Kim said between kisses.
"How can I not when your body reacts like that when I touch it?" His lips were on her neck, nipping the skin there, running his tongue against it after.
"It's not fair, I can't help it. Ever since your car, I've been thinking about it, us, together but I know it won't be the same for you as for me."
"What do you mean?" Adam stopped his ministrations and looked her in the eyes.
"Isn't it obvious? I'm, you know and you're not?"
"I'm not what?"
"A virgin." She blushed a deep shade of red as she whispered the words.
"Is that what you think?" He pulled his hand out of her shirt and propped himself on his hand brushing a strand of hair behind her ear.
"Aren't you, not I mean? The way you touch me, so sure, making me feel like my body is going to burst into flames."
"I haven't done this with any other girl darlin', and I don't want to do it with any other girl than you." Adam caught the tear that formed out of nowhere in the corner of Kim's eye before kissing her, gently this time, with no lust, no ulterior motive, just reassurance that she was all he needed, past present and future.
"Adam, dinner is almost ready." Adam and Kim jumped at the intrusion created by Bob Ruzek, Kim suddenly blushing like crazy and Adam trying to shield her from his dad. "Oh I'm sorry, I didn't mean." He stuttered, fidgeting in his spot before closing the door again. "You're more than welcome to join us for dinner Kim." Adam groaned and pushed himself off of Kim, making her look in his eyes.
"Oh my god, Adam." She pulled on his t-shirt, trying to burry herself in his chest.
"Hey, it's okay, he was already suspecting something, he kept saying he can see it in my face that I'm dating someone."
"And you didn't think to give me a head's up?" She slapped him repeatedly on the chest, making him chuckle by how indignant she looked.
"I didn't want you to feel uncomfortable when you came here."
"Well mission unaccomplished." She pushed him off of her. "You were working on some math before that little stunt of yours." She was acting angry but Adam knew she was anything but, if not a bit embarrassed.
"Does that mean you are you staying for dinner?" He asked hopefully.
"Yes." She rolled her eyes. "You're aware he'll be asking questions yes?"
"I know, don't remind me." He rolled his eyes back at her. "He's going to make it so uncomfortable." He groaned.
"And I will be having fun at your expense." She kissed his cheek and bounced out of his room. "Hey Mr. Ruzek, can I help you with anything?"
"Just grab what you kids want to drink out of the fridge and I'll do the rest." He smiled at her. For now it was business as usual when she came over for dinner until Adam decided to make an entrance.
"Smells good in here pops." He grabbed the seat next to Kim and winked at her.
"Young love, isn't that nice?"
"Pop, come on."
"What, I'm just calling it as it is." He said casually as he plated the pasta he had made, giving them each one. "How long have you two been dating?" Kim was silent with a furious blush on her face.
"Brand new Mr. Ruzek." Kim smiled politely hoping for less questions if they were being straightforward.
"I find it hard to believe." He chuckled Adam turning red which made Kim laugh.
"Just a couple of weeks pops can't we not do this? Kim didn't come here for this."
"I think you might be the one who isn't comfortable with this son." Adam was squirming in his seat but refused to acknowledge his discomfort so he filled his mouth so he wouldn't be able to answer any questions.
"What's wrong baby? Who's blushing now?" Kim couldn't stop the giggle from bubbling out as she started eating and Adam only groaned as an answer. "But seriously really just a couple of weeks ago." Kim confirmed.
"I always knew you would end up together." Adam and Kim was most likely the only two that didn't know that truth for years now. "I guess that the time wasn't right for you until now. Enjoy it." He smiled at them both and dropped the subject for the rest of the meal.
They became talkative like they always were until it was time to clear the table the two accepting to clean the dishes just to be able to spend some time alone.
"Are you okay there darlin'?" Kim was quiet as she washed the dishes diligently.
"Yeah." She smiled softly at him. "Are we really the only two that didn't see this before?"
"You don't see it the same way as they do. I guess it was just more obvious to them than it was to us." He kissed her temple as she gave him the plate to dry.
"I guess you're right." She agreed. They returned to washing the dishes and Kim let Adam bring her back home so he could concentrate on the math homework she knew he wasn't finished with.
"Will you come watch me at football tomorrow? It's our last practice before the end of the regular season?"
"I'll be in the bleachers like always." She made sure no one was at the door when she leaned against the middle and kissed him. "I'll see you in the morning."
"Tell Nicole not to bother with a ride I'll swing by. Good night."
"Good night." She smiled and kissed him again before getting out of the car and slipping inside the house. She was feeling light and she changed into more comfortable clothes before putting some music on and taking it easy for the rest of the evening.
The following day after class found Kim sitting in the bleachers of the football field, the sun shining high above and her final history homework on her knees. The team was practicing on the field below and between being blinded by the sunlight and looking down at the team practicing, Kim wasn't getting much of anything done. She still had a few days to turn it in so instead of wasting time trying to get something done she closed her books and put them away in favor of watching Adam kill it below. He was a natural at football and leading so with his killer left arm it was only fitting that he was the quarterback of the team. She was mesmerised by how athletic he was seemingly noticing everything for the first time ever.
"If I didn't know you better I would say that you and Adam Ruzek are kissing each other."
"We're just friends." Kim offered offhandedly to her sister who had startled her out of her daydream. "What are you even doing here Nicole?"
"I told mom I'd bring you home. Are you ready to go?"
"Nah I'm good Adam will bring me home after practice I promised I would watch their last one."
"Something's different with you Kimmy."
"Don't call me Kimmy." She hated that nickname and even more coming from her. "And nothing is different."
"Yes it is." She looked at her suspiciously and back down onto the field where she caught Adam winking at her with a smile. "Oh My God you are together. When did that happen?" Kim was surprised from her happy outburst. If there was one thing that everyone knew at school and out of it was that Nicole Burgess and Adam Ruzek hated each other.
"Why the hell do you even care you don't even like Adam."
"Everything okay?" Adam had seen their interaction and called for a ten minutes break to see what was going on.
"Peachy." Nicole rolled her eyes at him. "I swear to God Adam if you hurt her I'm going to kick your ass do you understand me?" She stepped down from the row she was in to be closer to Adam and his height.
"Glad to see your sister means something to you when it suits you." He growled. He really hated her and her high and mighty attitude. "You have nothing to worry about her because I've got her always."
"Great. Mom is going to have a field day when I tell her." Nicole cackled as she left them abruptly to leave.
"Damn it this is going to be hell." She groaned as he laughed. "I don't see what's so funny about this Adam. She'll be a gazillion times worse than your dad."
"But look on the bright side. Now that everyone will know I'll be able to do this in the open as much as I want to." He stepped up to her level and pulled her into him to kiss her deeply.
"Come on Adam this practice isn't over." His coach bellowed and Adam chuckled as he kissed Kim again.
"I'll meet you back here when we're done."
"I'll be waiting go be great." She kissed him one last time and pressed a palm against his chest to send him back down to the field. She watched him do his thing with a loving look in a smile and apprehension about their family grilling them about their new relationship now that they had been caught.
