"Hey baby..." He smiled as he entered my room.

I guess he had some serious discussion with his mother because his smile wasn't reaching his eyes. It shouldn't be surprising given that she hadn't liked the fact that I had refused to join for the king's birthday next week. But she could try to understand my situation, right? I mean, what about my job? They would fire me if I took too many leaves!

"What happened?" I said, "I think she didn't like it that I won't be able to join you all next week."

"Isabella..." he sighed, "Life has thrown us a curveball. Nobody thought I had to be the king so soon. And now that it is happening, I think we need to revisit some of our plans."

"Did your Mom ask you for that?" I said.

Yeah, I had a feeling this was coming.

"Yes," he said, "And I think she is right. We need to think about this."

"Edward..." I sighed, "I don't think I'm ready to have this discussion right now. I mean, today's celebration's party... It was just one party, but it was so difficult for me! I was under too much pressure and I'm not even sure whether I delivered or not."

"Sure, we can postpone the discussion," he said, "But I just want to tell you that you need to give it a serious thought. You need to start thinking about whether you really want to be a part of this world or not."

"Of course, I want to be." I said, "But I'm just twenty two..."

"I'm not fifty two," he said.

"No, that's what I mean..." I said, "I know you're under a lot of pressure right now. But you've been preparing for this since you were a kid, which is not the case for me. I want to support you in every way possible, but at the same time I'm not sure if I'm ready to leave behind my career and my life right now. I will lose my identity even before I get to create one."

I was finding it really difficult to decipher his expressions right now. He seemed lost in thoughts.

"Edward... What are you thinking?" I said, "Talk to me."

"I'm not asking you to leave everything behind right now, but I think you need to start thinking about it," he said, "It's high time you do. You need to think seriously whether you really want to be part of this or not. Do you really want to be my wife someday? Do you really want to be the queen of this country? It is going to demand a lot of sacrifices from you. Are you really ready to make those sacrifices?"
