Lena's POV

After an early dinner, I washed my hands and put in the VR contacts. This will be the first trial. I hope they work. Checking the programming once more, I activated them. I took a steady breath. Here we go.

"Hey, you."

My heart raced hearing Kara's voice. Turning, I smiled seeing the blonde standing feet from me. "Kara…" They work. She looks so real.

"Lena, don't cry." Reaching for my face, the virtual Kara tried to wipe my tears away. "I've missed you."

I can't feel her. I knew that going in. "I've missed you too." Making my way towards the couch, I made myself comfortable.

The virtual Kara laid on the couch and placed her head in my lap. "I hope this is okay."

This is the program. But she looks so real. "Of course it is."

Hearing a light knock, I quickly turned off the contacts and went to answer the door. "Alex, how are you?"

"I'm good. Can I come in?"

"Of course." Stepping to the side, I allowed Alex entrance. Why did you have to interrupt my trial? I want to see Kara again. Even if it's not really her. "Is there something I can help you with?"

"No, no." Placing my fabric bag on the table, Alex started unloading food containers. "I wanted to bring the food over."

"Right. You mentioned that earlier in my office." Even though I want you to leave, I can't rush you out. That would raise suspicion. Using the VR contacts to see someone who's dead could be seen as unhealthy. The last thing I need is to be hospitalized for running an experiment. "What did you cook? I appreciate it."

"You're welcome." Alex told me about each container as she placed it in the fridge. "How was work? I thought you normally worked late nights."

"Since I got back, I've been making an effort to be home by seven since the office closes at five. Some nights I stay until nine."

Leaning against the counter, Alex laughed. "I remember Kara leaving game night at ten saying she was going to see you. She knew you'd still be in the office."

"I figured Supergirl's nightly patrol was always around ten or eleven. Now, I find out it was Kara checking on me." That ache entered my chest again.

"She always worried you'd start to think Supergirl was stalking you," Alex chuckled.

"I never thought that. I never really thought anything of it." Thinking back, I smiled. "What I wouldn't give for one more check in." She's fighting something. What is it?

Clearing her throat, Alex pulled out her phone to read a text. "I need to go. There's been a small breakthrough with Cadmus 2.0."

"If I can help, let me know." I walked the agent to the door.

"I will, thanks." Alex slid her phone back into her pocket. "Let me know when you're ready for more food."

"You don't have to keep cooking for me. I do appreciate it." With a nod, she left. Closing the door, I leaned against it for a moment. That was close. The last thing Alex needs to hear is me talking to a virtual Kara. Turning the contacts back on, I smiled seeing the blonde sitting on the couch.

"Come sit," Kara beamed.

Over the next few hours, Kara and I reminisced. After doing my nightly routine, we climbed into bed. Resting her head on my chest, the blonde sighed contently. "This is nice. Goodnight, Lena. I love you."

I wish I could feel and hold you. "Goodnight, Kara." Biting my lip, I continued. "I love you too," my voice cracked. Turning off the contacts, I tried to get some much needed rest.

Kara's POV

Over the next month, Alex kept me updated on the search for Cadmus 2.0. J'onn and Lillian going undercover helped but it was a long game. They had to gain the followers' trust before finding out any real information.

Bringing pizza and pot stickers, Alex gave me a Lena update. "I'm worried about her. Jess said she's been going to the office less and less. Soley working from home."

"That's definitely not good." I shrugged, my appetite dwindling. "She's closing herself off. You need to take these guys down fast before we lose Lena to herself."

"I think you're right." Alex began to eat. "After Cat released the special Supergirl issue of the magazine, Lena seemed…off. More than just mourning the loss of a loved one."

"What do you mean?" I tried to eat but my stomach wouldn't allow it.

"I can't place it. She was really distracted." Alex thought more. "I think it's more of a gut feeling than anything."

"Lena not showing up to work on a regular basis isn't a good sign. Yeah, she's working from home but still. That woman loves her job."

"That's what I was afraid of. Tomorrow, I'll check on her. From what J'onn has told me, they're closer to taking Cadmus 2.0 down. The story I've told people when the topic of where Kara Danvers has been comes up, is that you were sick and you needed to go out of town to take care of a family member. The sick part isn't exactly a lie."

"Do you think people have bought it?"

"I think so. Jess might be a wee bit mad at you though." My face fell. "She's not happy that you've not checked in with Lena," Alex grinned. "Maybe take her coffee and lunch on a regular basis when you go back to your life? Maybe it'll help?" My sister's voice went higher with each word.

Pulling the lasagna from the oven, I heard a rapid knock on my door. Making sure the oven was off, I went to see who was about to break down my door. "Hold on!"

"They did it!" Winn wrapped his arms around my neck. Stumbling back, I kicked the door closed with my foot. "It's so good to see you!"

"It's good to see you too." Does this mean I can see Lena? That I can get my life back? "Where's Alex?"

Leaning back, Winn snapped. "Right! She sent me here to tell you it's safe to see Lena. I can take you if you'd like. We can catch up on the way there."

"Definitely! Let me change and put the travel lid on the lasagna." Rushing into my room, I put some regular clothes on and freshened up some. I finally get to see Lena again!

"How have you been?" Rejoining Winn, I put the lid on the glass container and placed it gently in a thermal travel bag.

"Good. Super happy that I don't have to live at the D.E.O. anymore." My brow creased. "J'onn wouldn't let me leave since he knew I'd spill to Lena and James that you were still alive. I really miss my bed."

"Oh, gosh. James is also in the dark." Guilt churned my stomach. I should want to see him too but I only want to see Lena.

"Alex said we would get everyone together in the next day or two and let them know what happened. But she knew you wouldn't last a few more days without seeing Lena."

"She's right," I laughed.

Winn and I talked the whole way across town. The stars aligned and we hit nothing but green lights. Pulling into a spot in front of Lena's apartment building, excitement churned my stomach. "You got this. Alex and J'onn should be back at headquarters soon. I'll let her know you're here."

"Thanks, Winn. You're the best." Taking the thermal bag, I made my way towards Lena's door. I took a steadying breath before using my spare key.

Lena's POV

Sitting on the couch, drink in hand, I stared at the picture of Kara and I that I kept beside her urn. Hearing the lock turn, I groaned. "Alex, I want to be left alone. You don't have to keep checking on me. Kara's dead and she's never coming back!" I slammed the glass onto the coffee table. Luckily, the thick glass didn't shatter.

"I promised I'd tell you why my eyes light up around you."

I stared dumbfounded at the blonde who stood at my door. "K-Kara…"

"Hey…" She motioned towards a bag. "I brought dinner."

Rubbing my eyes, I refused to believe what I saw. I've not had that much to drink. Did I leave the VR contacts in and forgot to turn them off? No. That's not it either. "I'm delusional and exhausted. You're not really here. You can't be. I watched your box burn in the crematorium." Walking towards me, Kara reached out. "Don't touch me!"

The woman's hand fell. "I have a lot of explaining to do. We have a lot to talk about. I hope you can forgive me."

"I-I don't…understand." Pulling out my phone, I dialed Alex. She can get me the help I clearly need.

"She's real, Lena. Kara is alive. She has been this whole time. I'm sorry I couldn't tell you the truth. Kara wanted to explain everything to you alone."

"S-She's real? The woman in front of me is real?" I refused to let myself hope.

"Yes. Let her explain everything. I'm going to be at work for a while if you need any clarification. Lena, we have a second chance with Kara."

Ending the call, I dropped my phone on the couch. "Kara, it's really you?" Slowly, I made my way towards the blonde. "You're really here? Alive?"

"I am." Wrapping the taller woman in my arms, I wept. Reciprocating, Kara buried her face in my hair and squeezed just as tightly. "It's so good to hug you again. I'm so sorry."

I can feel her warmth. She is alive. Leaning back, I cupped the woman's face and kissed her. I've wanted to do this for months but I was so afraid to lose her.

After the initial shock, Kara kissed back. Pulling me close, she matched my passion. "Lena…" She breathed, letting her forehead rest against mine.

"J'onn told me what you thought when we were held hostage and right before the explosion." After a few seconds, questions started swirling in my mind. "How? J'onn found you dead. You were injected with kryptonite and trapped in the warehouse. I watched a kryptonite bomb explode. Everything was destroyed."

"Can we sit?" Taking a seat, Kara noticed the urn. "I'm going to be apologizing for the rest of my life." Taking my hands, she smiled. "It's so good to finally be here with you."

"Everyone thinks you're dead. How can you live in National City?" If she leaves, I leave. There's no other option.

"Everyone thinks Supergirl is dead. Not Kara Danvers. Kara Danvers has been sick and away taking care of a family member. It's not far from the truth." Flexing one of her hands, a sad smile ghosted the woman's face.

"You solar flared and haven't gotten your powers back?" My stomach dropped. "For how long?"

"Since before the explosion. We think that's why the kryptonite didn't affect me like it normally would."

"Kara…" She lost her powers because of me.

"It's okay. I was devastated at first but then I realized what not being Supergirl could mean." My brow creased. "I'm not constantly in danger and neither are you. I can live out my life as close to human as possible. With you, I hope. I can grow old now. I already feel it," Kara laughed.

"You're okay with that?" I searched bright blue eyes.

"Yes. I couldn't have been Supergirl my whole life and also fall in love. Kal-El will have to make a decision eventually. I no longer have to."

"Was it the choice that you wanted?"

"Yeah, it is." Biting her lip, Kara smiled. "I had thought about it from time to time since I started falling in love with you. I just never talked about it."

There is so much I want to ask but I'm not sure where to start. "I have so many questions…"

"We have all night to talk. I'm not going anywhere anytime soon."

Hearing Kara's stomach growl, I laughed. "Powers or not, some things never change. You said you brought dinner?"

"I did, yeah. Lasagna."

"Let's eat and talk." Standing, I didn't get three steps away before Kara's arms wrapped around me. Her chin resting on my shoulder. "Everything okay?"

"I'm here with you. Everything is perfect."

The lasagna needed a quick reheat. Taking our seats back on the couch, Kara started from the beginning. She told me everything from the warehouse, to cooking and having Alex pass it off as hers, to watching the memorial, and slowly being driven stir crazy not being able to leave her apartment.

"If you weren't able to leave, who brought the Plumerias to my office?"

"Winn. He found out I was still alive and I begged him to help me."

"I always knew he was my favorite. Besides you of course." Pulling Kara into my arms, we relaxed into each other and continued talking.

Kara's POV

Waking the next morning, I smiled seeing the still sleeping brunette beside me. She looks so peaceful. Last night wasn't a dream. I really can live the rest of my life as Kara Danvers. Hopefully with Lena by my side. Sliding my hand into hers, I kissed the fingers that wrapped around my hand. "Hey," I whispered. "I didn't mean to wake you."

"It's okay. I don't mind being woken up like this." Lena's voice was husky with sleep.

"I'd rather wake you up with a kiss," I smiled sheepishly. Now that I've kissed her, I never want to stop.

A breathtaking smile lit up the room. "I'd like that too." Scooting closer, I pressed a gentle kiss on pale lips. Releasing my hand, Lena tangled her fingers in my hair. Sighing contently, the businesswoman let her forehead rest against mine. "I'm so glad you're back." Relaxing, Lena draped her arm over my hip.

"Me too. Especially now that you know how I feel." Noticing the time, I whined. "What time do you go to the office?"

Lena's grip tightened. "I can work from here."

"Alex said you've been working from home a lot the past month." Cupping Lena's face, I caressed her cheek with my thumb. "Go to work and I'll be here when you get home. I promise I'll still be here. Honestly, I probably won't leave."

"You still have the drawer full of clothes in the guest room. When do you go back to work?"

"I'm not sure yet. At least now I'll only have one job and not two. Since I don't have my powers, there's no reason to work with Alex and J'onn. Nothing more than a consultant when needed."

"Working for Cat Grant is a full time job in itself," Lena laughed. "Are you up to having Alex and J'onn over for dinner tonight? We can discuss your backstory then."

"Sounds great," I paused. "Can you do me a favor?"

"Of course. What is it?"

"When I bring you lunch next, try to keep Jess from murdering me. Alex said she's pretty mad that I've not contacted you."

A wholesome laugh bubbled up the CEO's throat. "Yes, I'll do my best." Closing the gap between us, Lena kissed me before getting out of bed.

Knowing how nervous Lena would be when she came home, I left a sticky note on the counter before getting in the shower. Hearing the front door open, I tied my robe and wrapped my hair in a towel. "Welcome home." I called from the guest room. "Be out in a few. Getting dressed and drying my hair."

"I appreciate the note. I'm going to change before Alex and J'onn arrive."

Reconvening in the kitchen, I wrapped my arms around Lena's neck. "I promised I'd be home when you arrived." Blood drained from my face when I realized what I said.

Quirking her brow, Lena wrapped her arms around my waist and pulled me close. "You did promise that." Kissing me quickly, she smiled. "I'm glad you consider this your home. Eventually, I'd like it if you would move in."

My heart fluttered at the thought. "I'd like that. My lease is up at the end of the year."

"What a way to start off next year." Walking to the fridge, Lena grabbed a drink. "What time are they supposed to arrive?"

"In about twenty minutes. I was about to reheat the lasagna in the oven. How was work?"

"Reasonable. Everyone is on pins and needles because I was in such a good mood instead of a snappy one. Once it can come to light that we're in a relationship, I'm sure everyone at L-Corp will relax."

Closing the oven door, I paused. "Are we…in a relationship?" Please say yes. For the love of everything in the universe say yes.

"To be honest, I think we were in a relationship without realizing it. An emotional one at the very least."

"I'd agree with that." Heat ran up my neck. "Maggie has said that before. When she and Alex started talking, before Alex came out, Maggie actually thought we were dating."

"Really?" Lena grinned, eyebrow raised.

"Swore it up and down. She thought we were keeping it a secret from the media. Even after I started dating Mon-El, she wouldn't let it go."

"That's…very interesting." Hearing a knock, Lena made her way towards the door. "Hey, come in."

"It is so good seeing you happy again." Alex hugged us both.

"I must agree. It's nice seeing the two of you back together." J'onn hung his and Alex's coats. "Dinner smells delicious."

"Kara made lasagna last night. I hope you don't mind leftovers."

"Not at all."

Once we were all served and seated, I jumped in. "How do we do this? Telling people who know I was Supergirl the truth?"

"The only ones still in the dark are Cat, Eliza, Maggie, and James." J'onn paused, taking a bite of lasagna. "This is fantastic."

"Thank you," I smiled triumphantly.

"For Maggie and James, we can do it at my apartment," Alex offered. "Mom is going to want to physically see you. And Cat…." Alex grinned. "You're on your own. My vote is to stroll into her office Monday morning with a latte like nothing happened."

"You'd probably be able to hear Miss Grant yell all the way at the D.E.O. if I did that."

"I just got Kara back," Lena smirked. "I don't want Cat Grant to kill her." Glancing at her watch, Lena continued. "It's not that late. If Maggie and James are available, we can tell them tonight. As for Eliza, we can use the L-Corp jet or I can arrange for her to come to National City."

"Let me call James and Maggie." Alex took the empty plates to the kitchen before making the phone calls.

"I'll load the dishwasher." I kissed Lena's hair as I passed.

Folding his hands on the table, J'onn apologized. "My sincerest apologies for keeping the truth from you, Miss Luthor. You were being watched and it was the only way to make people truly believe Supergirl was gone."

"We've been through a lot the past few months, J'onn. You've also been inside my head. Please, call me Lena. I understand why you did it. It was the best option. I didn't particularly enjoy it though."

"I second that!"

"Alright, thanks." Ending the call, Alex rejoined us. "They're both confused but they're coming. I left a message for Mom. She'll probably call back tomorrow."

By the time Maggie and James arrived, we had made ourselves comfortable in the living room. Hearing a knock, Alex went to answer the door. "Hey, guys."

"What's this about?" Maggie asked. "No fucking way…." Her voice trailed when she saw me.

"What is-," James peaked between the two women. "Kara?"

"Hey." I waived from the couch. "We have a lot to talk about."

Both were dumbfounded after we explained everything. Luckily, neither were too upset about being kept in the dark. Maggie was first to speak. "So, the two of you are finally together?"

"That's your first thought?" Alex snorted.

"What? I've been on Team SuperCorp from the beginning."

That went pretty well. "Yes." I took Lena's hand in mine. "We are finally together."

"I'm glad you made it," James nodded. "I hate to hear about your powers though."

"It's okay. I was going to give them up in the next few years if Lena and I became a serious couple."

"I'm sure Miss Grant will be happy to have you as a full time reporter now."

"If she doesn't kill me first," I smiled nervously.

Xxx

Monday morning, I picked up Miss Grant's favorite latte and guilty pleasure pastry before heading to the office. Exiting the elevator, conversations stopped. All eyes were on me as I made my way towards my boss' office. "This better be important, Teschmacher. I'm pulling extra weight since Kiera went MIA," she grumbled.

"I come with a peace offering." Placing the coffee and pastry on the desk, I waited for the worst. Please don't yell. Or maybe do. Your calm voice is scarier than yelling.

Furious eyes met mine. "Kiera," she began in an eerie calm tone. "Where the hell have you been for two months?"

"I was very sick and then I was needed out of town. I'm back, if my position is still open."

Rounding her desk, Miss Grant stopped inches from me. Shocking everyone, the businesswoman wrapped me in a strong hug. "Explain everything later," she whispered.

"Lena's office at eight?"

"I'll be there."

Stepping back, she put on her CEO mask. "On top of your reporting duties, you will be running any errands Teschmacher doesn't want to do until further notice. Every assignment must be on time or you're fired. Understood?"

"Yes, Miss Grant."

Once my work was done at CatCo for the evening, I made my way to L-Corp. Grabbing a pizza, I hoped Jess would go easy on me. The elevator stopped at Lena's floor and I said a little prayer. Jess is truly a nice person but she's protective and loyal to her boss.

"Kara Danvers." Jess stood with her arms crossed. "I have a bone to pick with you."

"I come with a peace offering?" I held out the pizza box. "I'm back and not going anywhere."

Taking the box, Jess eyed me. "Pepperoni with extra cheese?"

"With a garlic parmesan crust," I added.

"And you're here for good?"

"As long as Lena will have me."

"You better be." Smiling, Jess relaxed. "It's good to see you. Miss Luthor should be done with her meeting soon." Packing up her things, the shorter woman made her way to the elevator.

"Thanks, Jess."

Lena's door opened shortly after I sat. "Hey, you. Come in. Do I smell pizza?"

"I brought one as a peace offering for Jess." I kissed the brunette once the door shut behind me. "How are you?" Wrapping my arms around Lena's neck, I chuckled. "I really hope you don't mind me doing this or kissing you every chance I get."

Circling her arms around my waist, Lena pulled me close. "As long as you don't mind me doing the same thing." Leaning in, the businesswoman stopped centimeters from my lips. "We have a lot to catch up on." Lena captured my lips in a heated kiss causing me to shudder.

I moaned feeling the tip of Lena's tongue tease my bottom lip. Golly. She sets me on fire. "Y-Yeeaahh."

Chuckling, the CEO stepped away. "Is it safe to assume Cat will be here -," A knock cut Lena off. "Come in, Cat."

"You have a lot of explaining to do." Studying us, Miss Grant smiled. "You finally dove." She paused. "For real this time."

"I finally did." I couldn't help but smile in the brunette's direction.

Once everything was explained, we allowed Miss Grant to process. "That's one hell of a story," she muttered. "Not a word of it in the media?"

"No, my old boss has expressed that multiple times. I'm sorry."

"That's fair. It's the last thing National City needs to hear." She paused, a devilish grin appearing. "However," Her attention moved towards Lena.

"Yes, Cat. You can drop the exclusive about our budding romance. Best friends to lovers: The Lena Luthor and Kara Danvers exclusive." Lena smirked.

"The title can use a little work," Miss Grant kidded.

Lena's POV

Entering my apartment, I went to change into something more comfortable while Kara did the same. That kiss earlier. I didn't mean to get so caught up in it but I'm glad I did. Kara's moan ignited a fire in me. I've not thought much about the romantic aspect of our newfound relationship but that kiss. Biting my lip, I took a steadying breath. I need to hear her moan again and I can't wait to cause it.

Entering the kitchen, I filled a glass with cold water. I need something to ground me. I don't want to jump the woman. Not yet at least. "Hey, Kara," my voice cracked. Clearing my throat, I met the blonde's now worried gaze.

"Is everything okay?"

"It is. I was curious about something." Taking a seat beside the reporter, I leaned into the cushions. How to start this? "Have you thought about me romantically before?" Choking on her drink, Kara coughed. "I will take that as a yes."

"W-Why do you ask?" She cleared her throat.

"I thought about our kiss earlier." Kara laughed nervously. "It made me think about us going farther. I'm aware we've not even been dating for a week, but we've been close friends for much longer."

Biting her lip, Kara chose her words. "I have thought of you like that before." Swallowing hard, she looked away. "A few times…"

Oh? She's thought about me like that? I tried ignoring the fire that started inside me. "Do you mean, at night? Alone?"

Her face turned a deeper shade of crimson. "Yes," she squeaked. Thoughts of Kara moaning in bed, panting my name plagued my thoughts. Keep it together. "Are…are you upset?"

"No." My voice came out deeper than I intended.

The change gained Kara's attention. "Lena? Is everything okay?"

"Mmhmm." I nodded, shifting slightly.

"It just happened one day. You looked at me a certain way and I literally could not sleep." Toying with the pillow that she held, Kara continued. "I always found you attractive. That's why I stuttered when I was with Clark that day or why I was so nervous during our first official interview. After a while, I wasn't nervous anymore because I got to know you. Then I noticed how nice you looked. I always feel warm and fuzzy inside when you smile at me."

Warmth filled my chest at Kara's words. She really did fall in love with me. If we're going off of warm, fuzzy feelings, I've been in love with her for a while. I was attracted to her when we first met but I never paid too close attention to it. "I don't know when exactly my feelings turned from an innocent friendship to an emotional relationship. Hugs and touches became longer, holding each other's gaze, inviting you to any event I could, and taking you out to eat at fancy restaurants. I always wanted to spend time with you. Since I never had a real friend before, I didn't realize I was falling for you. There was part of me that disliked Mon-El at first but I thought it was because he was an arrogant asshole. Not that I was jealous. I felt like I was in a competition with him sometimes. In the end, he did care about you."

"You always won," Kara laughed. "Mon-El actually stole a page from your book." My brow rose. "I had mentioned in passing that you filled my office with flowers. I guess he saw how happy it made me. When we got into a big fight and I threw him out, the next day he filled my apartment with flowers."

"How did that make you feel?"

"Irritated." Becoming quiet, Kara thought for a moment. "I've never been with a woman before. I've only had one partner and it really wasn't that great."

"I've only been with one woman." I paused, knowing where Kara's mind would go. "Not Roulette. It was in college. Before Jack. I want to take things slowly but, at the same time, your moan earlier ignited a hunger in me that I don't want to stop."

"I don't want you to stop it either." Leaning in, I kissed Kara gently. It started slowly until Kara tugged my shirt. Without breaking the kiss, I straddled slender hips. "Lena," Kara breathed. Tilting her head, she silently begged me to kiss her neck. Obliging, I kissed the tender skin. The action caused Kara to whimper. "Take me to bed."

Leaning back, I met darkening blue eyes. "Are you sure?"

"Yes."

Kara's POV

Since we ended up going to Mom's, she told Alex once she and Lena arrived to let themselves in. It was lunchtime when we arrived in Midvale. After renting a car, we showed Lena around the small town where we grew up.

When it was closer to Mom getting off work, we let ourselves in and found something to do. Hearing the front door open, we heard Mom enter. "I'm sorry I couldn't make it to National City. We're working on-," Mom dropped her bag. "Kara?"

"Hey." Walking towards the woman, I wrapped my arms around her. "We have a lot of explaining to do."

Once the shock started to fade, she hugged me back. "I-I would say so. I thought you were dead!" Taking a seat on the couch, Alex and I sat on either side of our mother. "How? Alex told me about the explosion and how J'onn found you."

"I had to stay in hiding until Cadmus 2.0 was taken down. They were watching Lena so I even hid from her."

"It was worse than being held hostage and using a pot for a toilet," she deadpanned.

"Since the majority of people didn't know I was Supergirl, once everyone thought she was dead I could keep my life as Kara Danvers."

"The story we told people who asked in National City was that Kara was very sick and then had to go out of town," Alex added. "I'm not sure what you've told people."

"It's not really come up too often. When people would ask, I said Kara was busy working on a story." Turning her attention to me, Eliza continued. "Was Supergirl?" Her brow furrowed. "What do you mean?"

I don't want to tell her too many details. She doesn't need to know everything that happened. "When Cadmus 2.0 had me, I solar flared. Since then, I never regained my powers."

Mom's eyes narrowed. "What's the full story, Kara? You're leaving out quite a bit."

"You've always been a terrible liar," Alex sighed. "It's a good thing most of the time."

I guess two big surprises are happening this weekend. I can't tell the truth and it make sense otherwise. "Cadmus extremists kidnapped Lena. They knew if she was in danger, I wouldn't hesitate to surrender myself and I wouldn't struggle. They were right." I shrugged and smiled at the brunette. "They threatened to hurt Lena if I didn't cooperate and solar flare. They wanted to harvest my energy to create a fusion bomb. Luckily, they didn't succeed."

"Lena, being the badass she is, hacked the watch Kara gave her. It gave us their location. We stormed the warehouse and saved them both. It took nearly two months to find the rest of Cadmus 2.0 and take them down. Once we did, Kara could come out of hiding."

"Thank God," Lena added.

Studying Lena and I, Mom smirked. "Are the two of you finally together?"

"Did everyone know before we did?" I tried not to laugh.

"Basically," Mom and Alex answered.

Placing a hand on my leg, Mom smiled. "You shine around Lena and always gush about her."

"Does she now?" Lena grinned.

"Oh, gosh." Taking a pillow, I hid how red I was turning.

"Oh, yes! Every time you helped the D.E.O., invited Kara to a gala/event, or gave an in-depth interview to help her career, I would hear about it. I knew it was only a matter of time."

Placing the pillow down, I smiled. "She makes me happy."

"I already know she treats you well, so that and you being happy are all I need to know." Turning her attention to Lena, Mom grinned. "I expect to see you at Thanksgiving this year."

"Oh, I'm probably going to be hosting it so you'll definitely see me."

"Good. How long will the three of you be in town?"

"Just the weekend," Alex answered.

"I'll take it."

The weekend passed quickly. Lots of laughs and friendly aggravation. Once we flew back to National City, the new version of my life would truly begin and I couldn't wait.
