Author Note
Well, here's the first chapter, especially after that rant and all that you just read before.
It will be relatively short but I hope it will be meaningful and enjoyable to read.
This is will be my first fiction piece in a long while.
I'm not entirely sure if the Teen Wolf fandom is still active, but in any case here's my addition to a what could have been.
Dear reader, enjoy.

A Different Choice

Chapter One
When Noshiko came to know of Kira's "problem", she started to weigh the possible avenues to help her daughter.
Her fight with Kira, that ended with a fight with the fox brought her troubling worry considering she almost lost her head that day.
Their trip to the skin walkers for aid did not end as well as they would have hoped. After all, they ended up all escaping anyway to avoid Kira staying decades when the threat of the dread doctors and the beast was ever-growing.
Noshiko had always known that everything had a price. Even with seeking out the skin-walkers, she reasoned that Kira was still young, had time, and could get the control she needed without the fox within her committing point-blank murder at the cost of Kira and her livelihood. What Noshiko didn't realise was that she herself hadn't been prepared for that price. Strict as she may be, she treasured her daughter to a fault. Separation from her, especially where her days could end at any time was clearly not a favoured option.
So, when Kira came to her once more, asking her for permission to seek the skin-walkers once more in order to help her friends, Noshiko pondered on what to do. She sat alone in her bedroom on the queen-sized bed, trying to think of some way to help Kira and control the fox within her. The skin-walkers were an option yes, just not the best one, and it was up to Noshiko to think up of someway to solve it. Deep in thought, her mate came upon her in their room, noticing the frown on her face.
"What's on your mind?" Ken asked.
"Kira wants to go back to the skin walkers," Noshiko answered.
"The skin-walkers?" Ken questioned, moving closer onto their bed, "But doesn't that mean she'll have to stay with them until she's better? If I remember well, you said they wanted Kira to stay with them and become a skinwalker. She's just a teenager who's already too young to be dealing with the supernatural to the degree that is here in Beacon Hills. If she goes, we could never see Kira again if that happens"
"I know, Ken," Noshiko hissed, "I know what it means if she leaves. I had hoped their help wouldn't mean our separation from our daughter"
"Isn't there anyone else who can help?"
Noshiko was silent, gazing into thin air away from her mate. Ken ran his hand through his hair and leaned back on the headboard of their bed. Silence enveloped the two before Ken finally asked, "Why did you go to the skin-walkers"
"Because, they are powerful shapeshifters and could help Kira"
"I understand that, but why? You are a kitsune that's lived for over 900 years and given the nature of Kira's situation, I can agree to an extent that it may well be very novel to you," Ken began, "but why the skin-walkers?"
"I'm afraid I do not understand the point of your question"
"Kira is not just a shapeshifter. She's a kitsune,"
Ken received a pointed look from Noshiko as he continued.
"In history and myths, kitsune are different from what we understand to be shapeshifters and other 'common' supernatural creatures. Kitsune are not just animals or shapeshifters, they can be spirits, powerful entities of nature or just all of those qualities combined. The stories behind kitsune may be warped now but that still doesn't wipe out their true history and nature. Kira's experiencing problems with controlling the fox within, not necessarily her shifting abilities. What we may need is not a fellow shapeshifter but a kitsune, and who better to help than a fellow kitsune"
The elder kitsune froze briefly, then turned away from her mate. She got off the bed staring out the window.
"Noshiko" Ken called out, but was met with silence.
"Noshiko, we may get better help from..."
"I know what you're saying," cut in Noshiko, "but I'm not sure that's even a possibility we should "
"How come?"
"I haven't been in much contact with my kind in over two centuries. At the very least, with any from my home land"
"Why?
"Its a long story, one that ended with me severing my ties with my kin"'
"Kin?" Ken mumbled and then spoke with realisation, "You have family?"
"...Yes, " Noshiko answered reluctantly.
"Why haven't you said anything?"
"Its not important"
"Yes it is, especially if its something that will help Kira"
Ken was met with silence. Thoughts were jumping all over Noshiko'sm head.
"All my human family members are dead," Noshiko finally answered, "I didn't fit in with my kind, not to mention that I am a half-breed. Its not the kind of story I'm comfortable with talking about. My past, in fact, anything to do with my kin, I would rather just forget"
"You can't do this, Noshiko," Ken pleaded, "and not at the expense of our daughter. I understand that family can be difficult and you may have reservations. But this is for Kira, our daughter. Reaching out to your family may be her only salvation. Even just a fellow kitsune will be fine as long as it doesn't end with Kira being separated from us for decades"
"Ken"
"Just think about it"
"...Okay"

"I thought we'd be going to the skin-walkers?" Kira asked, as they boarded the flight, "not half-way across the world"
"We were," Noshiko replied, "but it has come to my attention that we must set a different course if you are to get help"
"You mean dad said we should go on a different course which different course involves going to Japan"\
"You're father may have said a thing or two. In any case the skin-walkers, while wise may not be the right choice to get help from"
"So where are we going?"
"To my home"
