Ymir, Reiner, and Bertolt are then safely up on a wall further away from the Scouts as they took a quick breather. "Ymir… Why did you come to us?"
"Well, it's because I'm an idiot." Ymir replies. "If you hadn't come to bust up this Wall…I would've never woken up from that nightmare. All I'm doing…is returning what I borrowed back then from your comrade. Because I'm probably the only one that understands the situation you're in."
Bertolt asks, "Ymir, when you turned back into a human, do you remember the person you ate?"
"No, I don't remember… Sorry…for not even remembering." Ymir says.
"It's not your fault for forgetting. It was the same for us, too." Reiner frowns.
"Do you resent me for it?" Ymir asks.
"I'm not sure… I…don't know. You probably didn't want to eat a human either…" Bertolt says, "How long were you wandering outside the Walls for?"
"About sixty years. It was like…I was stuck in a nightmare that would never end," Ymir says.
"But I have questions. Do you know all this time that Eren has the power of the Coordinate?" Reiner asks.
"I don't. I found out at the same time as you are." Ymir says.
"There is also Aya Neumann. We also failed to capture her as well." Reiner frowns.
"What's so special about her?" Ymir asks.
"Aya has the power to take away our Titan powers and give them to other people. If she was there, you wouldn't need to be eaten while you give up your Titan powers." Reiner frowns.
"But it can only happen when she comes into contact with the Founder and one of the other 11 Titans..." Bertolt says. "And to think that they also have the Weather, Sky, and Ocean Titans as well... They might probably transfer Annie's powers as well.
"So Annie is a lost cause..." Reiner grits his teeth. "Not only the "transfer", whether she touches one of the 12 Titans, she would also gain the power them. Judging by her hair color of Aya, she already has the power of 9 Titans in her. Once she gets 12 Titans, she can be the one to save all of us."
"From who?" Ymir asks.
"From... the Rumbling..." Reiner mutters.
In the Scouts headquarters, every one of the Scouts is now sitting at the table, they tell the crowd that despite the expedition's success, they still lose a lot of people.
When Levi and Petra are also present, Erwin says, "All of you here have pledged your hearts to defend humanity, volunteered to give life and limb so that one day we may break free of this cage. I now must ask even more of you, because after tonight, everything you think you know will change forever. I must also ask you to keep this information a secret for the immediate future. Are you still willing?"
The remaining Scouts all nod in agreement, and Erwin says, "Very well. The first major truth. Our true enemy is not the Titans. Our true enemy is other humans. The idea that we are the last of humanity is a lie that has been perpetrated by the central government for the past century in order to keep us in line. The fact of the matter is, even if everyone inside the walls perished, there would still be millions of humans left in this world."
Everyone can't believe what they're hearing, and Erwin continues, "The second major truth. There are humans who have the power to turn into Titans. Three of them were responsible for the attack on Wall Maria five years ago. They were Bertolt Hoover, the Colossal Titan, Reiner Braun, the Armored Titan, and Annie Leonhart, the Female Titan."
Everyone also frowns after seeing the betrayal of Reiner and Bertolt. "Annie Leonhart is now in the dungeon thanks to the help of the four new Titans. The Attack Titan, held by Eren Yeager. The Weather Titan, held by Katrina Yeager. The Ocean Titan, held by Peter Fischer. And the Sky Titan, held by Odom Wolff."
"So you guys can turn into Titans... How come?" Armin asks.
"My Father, Aya's Mother, Peter's mother, and Odom's father are from outside the walls. Saving the people from the walls is their mission." Eren says. "Commander Erwin, would you mind if you let me tell the history?"
Erwin nods. And Eren says, "Hundreds of years ago, there was a powerful nation known as the Eldian Empire. The source of their strength came from the power of the Titans. There were a total of twelve Titan powers that were passed down through the Eldian noble houses, and they used their Titan abilities for wars, cultivating lands, and building bridges. However, with how powerful these powers are, other nations are jealous as they are the ones declaring war to take the Titan powers. However, without any useful weapons, they are all defeated in the end."
The Scouts remain silent, eager to learn about the history of the world which they had known nothing about.
Aya says, "At the top of the Eldian Empire was the Fritz family, who controlled the power of the Founding Titan. The Founding Titan was by far the most powerful and the most dangerous of the twelve. It gave the wielder the power to create and control Titans at will, and this ability kept the Fritz family in charge until about 100 years ago. A century ago, several things changed."
Katrina says, "The 145th king is tired of the continuous fighting, he feels that the Titan Powers are the reason why other nations have to suffer. In the end, he decides to plot with one of the other 11 families, having the other 10 kill each other and then giving their powers to the Marley nation. And in a short time, the Marleyans seized control of seven of the Titan powers, while the Fritz family fled to an island just off the main continent, taking as many Eldians with them as they could. And to bring us the 'so-called peace', he then used his Titan powers to create millions of Colossal Titans, and used them to build three enormous walls, Maria, Rose, and Sina."
Everyone can't believe what they're hearing. Connie asks, "Does that mean..."
"He then turned this island into a hermit kingdom, cut off from the rest of the world. In order to prevent anyone from attacking him, he left behind a warning. He claimed that if his peace was ever disturbed, he would unleash the Wall Titans, and use them to trample the earth." Peter says.
"But this was never his true intention. It was merely an empty threat to buy himself some time. He made a vow of pacifism, and his will has been carried down by every King of the walls since then. In order to ensure peace within the walls, he used the power of the Founding Titan to steal the memories of the people, leading them to believe that they were the last of humanity in a world overrun by Titans. He knew that sooner or later the walls would be attacked, and he intended to allow everyone inside to die in order to atone for the sins of the Eldian empire. And five years ago, we saw the consequences of his actions." Odom says.
"All of them...Eren's mother...my grandfather...all of them died...all of them died...because of something our ancestors did? Something we didn't even remember? What kind of person…" Armin thinks in anger.
Eren says, "What we're saying is the true history passed down with the Titan powers, and the King still left an amount of Eldians in the other nations. To control them, all of them fabricated a fake history: The Eldian Empire used their Titan abilities in order to win wars, conquer territory, and exterminate groups of people they deemed inferior. When they lose their enemies, they decide to turn against each other. That's why the Marleyans can team up with one of the families and destroy the whole empire, making the king flee while conquering 7 of the Titan powers."
The more he said, the more everyone is angry. Aya says, "If that was true, then none of the nations would be existing in the first place. Marley wouldn't be existing right now and send Reiner and the others to destroy our wall! They are trying to brainwash us to believe we are inferior and we deserve their hatred."
"This is really messed up..." Sasha frowns.
"Everything started when our father watched our aunt being killed just because she's an Eldian." Katrina says. "With the help of the group known as Eldian Restorationists, we learned that our families are actually the royal families of the Eldian Empire."
"Wait, you guys are royalty?" Connie asks.
"Yes, but it doesn't matter since the current King created a new set of followers so that they could continue the fake king's will. The only reason we're royalty is because we won't be affected by the Curse of Ymir." Peter says.
"Whoever inherits the Titan powers would die 13 years after gaining the powers, that is known as the Curse of Ymir. However, all of us here won't be affected because we have the correct blood." Odom says.
"Wait a second." Hange says, "Katrina and Eren are blood-related siblings. But you two have a different Titan..."
Eren says, "My father has the blood of the Attack Titan, while my mother, she actually has the blood of both the Founding Titan and the Weather Titan. That's why if we get those three, we won't be affected by the curse."
"Now back to the history. Our father's goal is to retake the Founding Titan and bring back the Eldian Empire, but this group of restorationists is betrayed by the Beast Titan, that was before he become a Beast Titan." Katrina says. "They were sent to this island and most of the Restorationists were turned into mindless Titans that might have devoured our friends and families."
"Our parents were saved because of the three Titan shifters, the Owl, the Eagle, and the Shark. They have our families' powers and their 13th year is almost up. They return the powers to our parents and it is why they were able to sneak into the walls."
"But how do they return the powers?" Sasha continues to ask.
"We have to eat the previous Titan shifters. That means... I ate my father, Katrina ate my mother, Peter ate his mother, and Odom ate his father."
This causes everyone to gasp in shock, Armin asks, "But why... they won't be affected by the curse..."
"Because of my father." Eren says. "Aside from the Attack Titan, he has another power that caused him to only live 13 years. My Mom, Peter's Mom, and Odom's father decides to die with him. Considering Aya's mother also died very early."
Jean asks, "So you won't be affected by the curse, but does that mean Reiner, Bertolt, Annie, and Ymir would be affected by the Curse?"
"Technically they will." Aya says, "However, Annie is not the Female Titan because it is returned to the true royal family. There is another way to transfer Titan's powers without killing the person. And that is, the power of my blood with the Founding Titan."
"There is a reason why Aya's hair keeps changing colors. She has contacted 9 Titan powers and also gained the power of them as well. We extracted the Female Titan from Annie and gave it to Petra Ral here, who has the blood of the Female Titan."
Petra nods as she also shows the steaming hand. "So that means there are already 6 Royal Families here. What about the other 6?"
"We have a Colossal and the Beast Titan blood in the Scouts right now." Eren says. "The War Hammer Titan's family is the traitor that is now residing in Marley. The Armored and the Jaw are now in the Garrison, and the Cart Family is still on the island."
"So what is our goal right now?" Historia asks.
Erwin says, "We must overthrow the central government. I wish this was not so, but for the sake of our survival, we must end the royal government with its ruinous philosophy of pacifism that leads to our destruction and bring back the former royal families for the new government."
After the Speech ends, all of the gathered Scouts remain quiet, processing everything they had just been told.
