Alexandria

Carol, Daryl, Caroline and Murphy had deiced to go to Alexandria for a few days for their honeymoons. Aaron had cleaned their old house for them and Carol and Caroline laughed as Daryl and Murphy picked them up and carried their wives over the threshold before going in the house.

Daryl placed Carol on her feet as he opened the door to her old bedroom and she walked in the room. She watched him bring in the backpacks as he placed the backpacks on the bed and she walked to him. He gave her a small grin as she slid her arms around his waist and he gently held onto her shoulders.

"What now?" Carol asked.

"Guess we should unpack our stuff," he said as he glanced at the backpacks.

"After that."

"Need to check with Aaron. See if…."

Sighing, Carol moved his head toward hers as she kissed his lips and he held the back of her head in his right hand. She moved her hands up and down his back when he moved back and they locked eyes.

"Or we could just screw around," he said and she lightly tapped her fingers against his chest. She moved the backpack onto the floor as he sat down to remove his work boots then he looked at the wall.

"What's wrong?" she asked.

"Hold on," he said. Daryl closed his eyes as he turned off the bond between him and Caroline and Carol went to close the door. She walked back to the bed as he stretched out on the mattress and she sat down to remove her boots. She carefully climbed on top of him as Daryl smiled up at her and Carol went to kiss his lips.

In Caroline's old room, Murphy looked at the poster of a motorcycle which looked like the motorcycle Thomas used to own while Caroline unpacked and he felt a little empty. Connor had turned off the bond so Murphy could be alone with his thoughts, but not feeling his twin in his head felt odd.

"Hey," made him turn to see Caroline sitting on the edge of the bed and she had taken off her boots. He walked to the bed when he sat down next to her and he removed his boots. She looked at him when she carded the back of his head and Murphy sighed. "What's wrong?"

"Jus' feelin' a little empty without Connor in my head," he said with a frown.

"Oh."

He knew she felt guilty about how easily it is for her and Daryl to turn off their bond and he leaned into her.

"Stop," he said and she moved her hand away. "I meant feelin' guilty. I told you Connor and I aren't joined at th'hip. I'll be ok."

She kissed his cheek as he smiled and patted her left thigh. He got up as she watched him get undressed to his underpants and she stood up. A small shiver moved through her as he started undressing her down to her underpants and bra and she moved the bedding back. He watched her get into bed as she patted the mattress and he climbed onto the bed. He moved over her as he leaned down for a kiss and she placed her left hand on the back of his head.

Later that night, Carol rested with her head against Daryl's right shoulder while the fingers of her right hand were spread on the center of his chest and his right arm was wrapped around her. She made a small sigh while her fingers flexed and Daryl smiled.

In Caroline's old room, Caroline faced Murphy while he slept on his left side and his right arm was draped over her left side. Their heads barely touched and her left hand was on his right shoulder. Her eyes moved under her eyelids as she frowned and the sky outside the window turned green.

Daryl's eyes opened when he saw the mist moving around him and he sat up, placing his wrists on his knees. He knew the mist meant Jeb had taken him to the place where he could talk to the dead and Daryl rubbed his face with his hands.

"Daryl," made him look to the left as Carol sat up and he slid his left arm around her. "What's going on? Why are we here?"

"Looks like Jeb wants us to talk to someone," he grumbled and helped her to her feet. He looked around as she took hold of his left hand and he frowned. "Caroline?!"

"Over here," Caroline said as she walked out of the mist, but Daryl was surprised when he saw Murphy, Katherine and Connor walking with her.

"What are they doing here?" Carol asked.

"That's what we wanna know," Connor said.

"Where are we?" Murphy asked.

Caroline, Daryl and Carol took turns explaining about Jeb and where they were and Katherine, Murphy and Connor nodded.

"Um… Is that who we're here to talk to?" Katherine asked with a disgusted look on her face and someone walked out of the mist.

The figure was a female with a large hole in her forehead and gray brain matter stuck out of the hole. Her blonde hair was stringy and the rip in the bloodstained, pink shirt exposed a large, bloody bite in her left shoulder. She was also wearing jeans and black leather boots and her eyes turned into slits when she saw Caroline.

"Well… If it isn't the Little Bitch," Jessie Daye said as she crossed her arms under her breasts.

"Is that Jessie?" Murphy asked after he walked to Caroline and Caroline nodded.

"Who the hell are you?" Jessie asked as she looked at Murphy.

"He's my husband," Caroline said with a stern tone to her voice and Jessie laughed.

"What sort of loser would marry you?!"

"One who could beat yer ass," Murphy said and his eyes darkened.

"Like to see you try, Asshole."

"Watch how you talk t'him," Connor said while walking to stand next to Murphy and Jessie looked at him.

"And you are?" she asked with a bored look on her face.

"He's his twin brother," Caroline said.

"Still getting someone else to fight your battles for you?" Jessie asked while looking at Caroline. "You are such a waste of life."

"Let her alone!" Daryl said and Jessie laughed.

"Oh great! Here's the other loser," she said with a shake of her head.

"Shut your damn mouth," Katherine shouted as she and Carol walked to Daryl, Caroline, Connor and Murphy.

"Who the hell are you!?"

"She's my wife," Connor said with a growl.

"Six against one, hunh? Guess you're really eager to die," Jessie said as her eyes went red, her fingernails grew into long, sharp claws and her teeth grew into fangs. Caroline knew she should be afraid, but who she saw behind Jessie sent a warm wave of peace through her.

"Someone is dyin', Lass, but it isn't any of them," came from behind Jessie as she turned and looked into shining blue eyes. Waves of fear and doom moved through her as her eyes widened and she started shaking.

The man standing behind her was dressed in a black flat cap, a black shirt, a black Navy pea coat, a black leather belt, black pants, black leather gloves and black shoes and socks. His white hair and full beard were peppered with black and gray hair and he had a cigar clenched in his teeth.

"Who is that?" Carol whispered.

"That's our da," Murphy whispered while Caroline walked to Jessie, but stayed far enough away so Jessie couldn't harm her.

"Il Duce," Caroline said with a nod of her head and Jessie gasped.

"You….?! You know who he is?!" Jessie asked.

"I'm surprised you know who he is," Connor said as he walked to Caroline and stood next to her.

"Me, too," Murphy said as he walked to stand next to Connor.

"Not now, Boys," Noah MacManus said with a stern tone. He glanced over at Katherine, Carol and Daryl when Noah noticed something about Daryl and Noah looked at Caroline. "Didn't know you had a twin."

"I didn't either," Caroline said as she grinned at Daryl and Daryl softly laughed. She gave Noah a quick explanation and Noah smiled.

"I'm glad you finally found each other."

"Just so you know…. She did this," she said, holding up her right hand. Noah looked at the scars on the back of her hand, along her fingers and along her wrist and he removed the cigar while glaring at Jessie.

"Uh-oh," Connor said with a grin.

"You fucked," Murphy said with a grin and placed his right elbow on Connor's left shoulder.

"Do you remember when we met, Lass?" Noah asked Jessie. "You were seven or eight. I had been trackin' yer father fer a long time. When I arrived at yer home t'send him t'Hell, yer mother pleaded fer his life. I wouldn't have listened t'her if you hadn't come into th'room. I swear never saw anyone with such evil in their eyes before. Th'only reason I didn't kill you first was because I was not allowed t'kill children. I put my guns away. But I did leave you a warnin'. If we ever crossed paths again, I would kill you."

Caroline heard the truth in his words and Noah turned to her.

"I swear. If you had told me she was th'one who maimed you. I would have avenged you," he said and Caroline saw the bright light shining in his eyes.

"We woulda gone with you," Connor said and Murphy nodded.

"I think I'm going to be sick," Jessie said with a snort.

"Let's end this," Noah said. He moved toward Jessie when Caroline stood between them and she locked eyes with Noah. Noah had seen the same look in Caroline's eyes when she confronted him at the motel. Noah barely nodded his head as Caroline turned to look at Jessie and Noah placed his left hand on Caroline's right shoulder. Caroline felt a strong sense of strength move through her and she stood a little taller.

"All my life… All my life! I have been afraid of you," Caroline started then she sighed. "But now? Now… I feel nothing, but pity fer you."

"You pity me?!" Jessie said with a growl.

"Yeah. I get it now. You have no morals. Don't know right from wrong. You think you can just treat people anyway you damn well please. If they complain or argue with you? You just kill them. You did that with Dad. You did that with yer own dad. And you did it with yer mother."

"How did you find out about that?!"

Caroline stayed silent and Jessie growled.

"You tried everythin' you could think of to keep people away from me. To make me feel like no one would want anythin' to do with me. That my life meant nothin'. That I didn't matter. But, in the end, I not only got friends. I got a family that loves me. Who showed me my life was worth livin'. That I mattered."

"Got that right," Daryl said as he walked to her and Caroline took hold of his right hand.

"Is there a point to all this?" Jessie asked with a sigh.

"My point is the one who doesn't matter is you. You no longer control me. And I don't care what happens to you. Wanna know the truth? I hope whatever does happen hurts like Hell," Caroline said and Daryl lightly squeezed her fingers. Jessie growled as she charged at Daryl and Caroline, but Daryl quickly moved Caroline out of the way. Snarling, Jessie turned as she charged at them again and Noah removed two silver plated guns out of the inner pockets of his black Navy pea coat.

"Close yer eyes!" Noah shouted. After they had closed their eyes, Noah fired the guns at Jessie as blinding white light erupted from the guns and the blinding white lights hit her. Jessie screamed as the blind white light spread over her then she exploded in black smoke. The black smoke faded as Noah placed the guns away and he looked at them. "You can open yer eyes now."

They opened their eyes while Noah headed for Caroline and Daryl and Noah looked from one to the other.

"What's yer name?" Noah asked.

"Daryl," Daryl said.

"Daryl what?"

Daryl wasn't sure if he should tell him, but something in Noah's eyes made him feel safe.

"Dixon," Daryl said.

"Do you know a Merle Dixon?"

Daryl went silent.

"Know how t'keep a secret. Good. Jus' so you know… If he is family? He was th'only one I was after," Noah said and Daryl heard the truth in his words.

"Hello," Carol said as she walked to Daryl and Noah looked at her. "I'm Carol. Daryl's wife."

"Hello," Noah said and Murphy, Katherine and Connor walked closer. Noah looked at Katherine when he placed the cigar from between his teeth then smiled. "Guess you're Katherine."

"Yes. I am," Katherine said.

"Jeanie told me about you," he said then he looked at Murphy and Caroline.

"She knows about Jeanie," Murphy said as he nodded his head to Caroline.

"Does she know about Norman and Annie?"

"Yeah. I do," Caroline said and Noah saw the sadness in her eyes.

"There is no need t'feel bad about it. Neither of you knew if th'other was alive."

"Still feel like…."

"Will you drop it already!?" made her turn around and a young woman same height as Caroline, but she had blonde hair and gray eyes walked closer. She wore a blue t-shirt, jeans and leather boots and her hair was pulled back in a ponytail.

"Hey, Jeanie," Murphy said.

"Hey, Murphy," Jeanie said and she stopped in front of Caroline. "You're Caroline?"

"That's me," Caroline said with a small smile.

"Did he tell you about what we talked about before I died?"

"He told you that he loved you, but not like he loved me."

"He wasn't lying."

"He also drove you nuts because he kept thinkin' about me."

"He did," she said with a laugh. "But I knew it was hard for him to forget the person who meant everything to him. Just like it drove him nuts when I talked about Mike."

"Mike?!" Caroline asked as she looked at Murphy with a confused look and Murphy lowered his head.

"Guess he forgot to tell you about my first husband. Mike was in the army. I had no idea where he was after the world fell. But the one thing I knew about Mike is he would have wanted me to start over if he had died."

"Did you see him again?"

"Yeah. Told him about Murphy and he met the kids."

"And he was ok about it?"

"As long as Murphy was good to me, he was fine."

"Like you're fine with me being married to Murphy?"

"Yeah."

"Do you wanna meet th'little one?" Noah asked her and Caroline nodded. He pointed toward the mist and two little figures walked out of the mist. The little boy had dark hair and blue eyes and the little girl had blonde hair and gray eyes.

"Hi, Daddy," Norman said. He was wearing a white t-shirt, jeans and sneakers and the little girl next to him was wearing a blue t-shirt with a cartoon dog on the front, jeans and boots.

"Hi, Papa," Annie said as she made a little wave. She then looked at Caroline and smiled. "Are you Caroline?"

"Yeah. I am," Caroline said.

"Thank you fer helpin' Papa not be sad anymore."

Caroline looked at Murphy as she walked to Murphy and he lifted his head then held her to his right side.

"Alright, you two. We gotta go," Jeanie said and the kids gave Murphy a sad look.

"Can we give Papa a hug?" Annie asked.

"I'm afraid not," Jeanie said.

"Doesn't mean you can't give him one when you see him again," Noah reminded them and the kids nodded. Murphy watched Jeanie and the kids walk into the mist while Caroline held him then he looked at Noah.

"Thanks, Da," Murphy said.

"You're welcome," Noah said.

They stood in silence when three figures walked out of the mist and Caroline smiled when she saw who they were.

"Hey," Rocco said as he waved at them.

"Who are they?" Katherine asked.

"You forgot about me already?" Romeo asked with a sad face.

"How could I forget you?" she asked with a smile as she walked closer. Romeo blinked his eyes a few times when he smiled and shook his head.

"Then do me a favor and stop blaming yourself for what happened."

"I couldn't save you."

"And I told you I was ready to go,"

"Yeah. You did."

"Romeo?" Caroline asked and he looked at her. "I'm sorry I wasn't there to say goodbye."

"It's not goodbye. It's I'll see you later," he said with a sad smile.

"Right," Connor said as he looked at Romeo, Rocco and Doc. "Rocco and Doc? This is my wife, Katherine. This is Caroline's brother, Daryl, and his wife, Carol."

"Does that mean you found your family?" Romeo asked Caroline and she nodded.

"And Caroline's my wife," Murphy said.

"You finally asked her to marry you. Fuck," Doc said then lowered his head. "Oh. I am sorry."

"Nothin' we haven't heard before," Daryl said with a small laugh and Doc smiled.

"Sorry to cut this short, but we gotta go," Rocco said as he looked at the mist. "See all you on the flipside."

They watched Rocco, Doc and Romeo walk into the mist and Daryl noticed the puzzled look on Connor's face.

"Da? Where's Ma?" Connor asked and Noah looked into the mist.

"I'm here. Had t'wait fer him t'move his ass," came from the mist as Annabelle and Sibeal MacManus walked closer and Connor and Murphy fought the urge to run over and hug her. She looked at Katherine, Caroline, Daryl and Carol and she saw the tender look Murphy was giving Caroline. "Is this Caroline?"

"Yeah," Murphy said.

"Hello, Mrs. MacManus," Caroline said.

"Seeing how you're wearin' my mother's ring and are married to my loser of a son? I think you can call me "Ma"," Annabelle said and Caroline looked at her engagement ring.

"See you finally asked her," Sibeal said and Murphy nodded.

"Not that I don't love Jeanie and th'kids. But the stupid ass shoulda asked her a long time ago."

"Mother," Connor warned and she laughed.

"No. She's right. I shoulda done it," Murphy said.

"You treat her right or you gotta deal with me," Annabelle said as she pointed a finger at Murphy.

"I will."

"And you treat her right as well," she said as she pointed to Katherine and Connor nodded. Turning, she looked at Daryl and Carol then she looked at Caroline. "Who are these two? He looks like you."

"He's my twin brother, Daryl. She's his wife, Carol," Caroline explained and Annabelle nodded.

"Does he treat her good?"

"Damn straight," Daryl said.

"You better. Or you gonna have t'deal with me as well."

"Yes, Ma'am," he said with a nod.

"I am sorry to interrupt, but we have to go," Sibeal said.

"Wait. We need t'know one thing," Connor said while looking at Noah and Murphy walked to him. "Are we gonna be able t'do cool shit like what you did t'Jessie?"

"How did you know what I did? You were supposed t'close yer eyes," Noah said.

"We tried, but we couldn't look away."

"It was like we needed to see it," Murphy said and Noah sighed.

"I see. T'answer yer question… Aye, you will be able t'do what I did," Noah said with a small grin.

"Bye, Ma. Uncle," Connor said with a sad smile while looking at Sibeal and Annabelle.

"Bye, Ma. Bye, Uncle," Murphy said with a sigh as he looked at Sibeal and Annabelle.

"Enough of that shit. Jus' remember I love th'pair of you. You are good boys and don't let anyone tell you otherwise," Annabelle said as she pointed her right index finger at them and Murphy and Connor softly laughed, nodding their heads.

They watched Sibeal and Annabelle head into the mist. The mist then grew thicker around Connor and Katherine while they faded and Murphy held onto tighter onto Caroline. Daryl and Carol watch them fade away as Carol held onto Daryl and they faded. The mist swirled in circles as red eyes appeared and Jeb walked out of the mist. He looked at Noah as Noah removed the cigar from between his teeth and Jeb titled his head to one side.

"Th'bitch has been sent t'Hell," Noah said.

"Any chance she can get out?" Jeb asked.

"No."

"Good," Jeb said as the corner of his mouth curled up. Noah scanned him with his eyes when he placed the cigar back between his teeth and his eyes became tight slits.

"Jus' so you know. Earth spirit or not… Keep messin' with my family and I'll be comin' fer you," Noah said as he faded and Jeb frowned, growling before he vanished.

Alexandria

Caroline's eyes snapped open as she sat up and she bent her legs up. She wrapped her arms around her legs as she lowered her head and she felt the bed move.

"Come here," Murphy said in a soft voice as she leaned back against him and he wrapped his arms around her. She felt him rocking her as he started humming the song which he used to calm her down and Caroline looked at the darkness.

"Did that really happen?" she asked in a soft voice.

"Yeah. It really happened."

"She's finally gone?"

"Yeah."

He kissed the side of her head as she smiled and looked at him.

"Norman looks like you," she said and he softly laughed. She smuggled closer and he rocked her. "Annie said you were sad."

"Most of the time," Murphy said with a shrug of his left shoulder. "But I don't want you t'feel guilty about it."

"Sorry. It's what I do," she teased and he tickled her side which caused her to move on the bed. "Better stop before Daryl shows up."

"Not if he senses joy comin' from you."

Smiling, Caroline gently poked him in the chest and Murphy lifted her chin so he could kiss her lips.

"I'm hungry," she said.

"Me, too," he said then moved the bedding back. He walked to the other side of the bed when he carefully lifted her off the bed and she held onto his shoulders.

"Good thing we're dressed," she said and he headed for the door.

In the other room, Daryl's eyes snapped open as he sat up and he felt Carol touching his right arm. He looked at her and she could barely see the concern on his face.

"I gotta go check on Caroline," Daryl said as he looked at the door.

"She would have called for you if she was upset," Carol said and he settled onto his back. She snuggled closer as he held her and she placed her head against his right shoulder. "She finally let go of her past."

"Yeah. She did," he said with a sigh and she looked at him.

"Hey. It doesn't mean she doesn't need her big brother."

"I know that. Just wonder what their dad did to Jessie. All I heard was Jessie screamin' and could just see a bright light."

"Guess it's one of those things we're not meant to know."

"Hmph."

"What did you think of Murphy and Connor's friends?"

"You mean Doc, Rocco and Romeo? They were ok."

"I swear Romeo looked like he was crying."

"Caroline told me he does that."

"Why was Katherine blaming herself?"

"He got shot and she couldn't save him."

Carol sighed as he rubbed her upper arm and she placed the palm of her hand on his chest. They became quiet when Daryl thought he heard something and he looked toward the door.

"Move," he said and she got off of him. He moved the bedding back as he got out of bed then slid on his jeans and she followed him after she put his shirt on. He placed his right index finger against his lips as they stood near the door and he opened the door enough to look out into the hallway. He heard Caroline giggling as he opened the door enough for him and Carol to walk out into the hallway and Carol softly laughed at the sight of Murphy carrying Caroline down the stairs.

"Uh," Caroline said after she had looked up and could barely see Daryl standing in the hallway.

"Goin' somewhere?" Daryl asked while he and Carol walked to the railing.

"We're gnna go get a snack," Murphy said, adjusting his hold on Caroline.

"Her legs broken?" he asked as he looked at his sister.

"No," Caroline said as she elongated the "o" and Murphy placed her on her feet. She snorted a breath of air as she glared at her twin and Daryl gave her a blank look.

"I could use something to eat," Carol said a few seconds later as she tried not to laugh.

"You got anythin' to make cookies with?" Daryl asked.

"There are fresh cookies in the breadbox in the kitchen."

"Then let's go," Murphy said and he and Caroline quickly headed down the stairs.

"Better move before they eat all of them," Carol said as she looked at Daryl. Sighing, he took hold of her right hand as they headed for the stairs and went downstairs. Outside the window, the sky turned back to normal as the green light faded and the dark shadow of a crow flew across the night sky.
