Several centuries ago
Isis ran her hands through her hair. Amun-Ra didn't like calling in favors, stating that he might need them sometime in the future for something important, like winning at poker night. Dressed in a plain white dress that complimented her glowing gold skin, she stood alongside Bes and Tutu. Bes was a short god, not even reaching Isis' waist, with the legs like those of a lion and a large face. Tutu, his self proclaimed bodyguard, looked every bit an Egyptian. With the body of a lion and the tail of a snake, which looked weird with the suit he was wearing, he had a normal humanlike head that gave off a calm aura despite his fearsome body.
Waiting in the hangar that Amun-Ra and Set were supposed to land in, the sound of heels clacking against the floor caused Isis to turn her head. Sekhmet walked up to them, her lion head analyzing the three of them. Dressed in a form fitting suit that showed off her form. Sekhmet looked every bit like a lioness that was on the hunt.
"Oh hell no! Why are you here?" Tutu blurted out, narrowing his eyes as he glared at Sekhmet while standing in front of Bes who was scowling as well.
"Yeah!" Bes crossed his arms. Isis simply flashed the lion goddess a smile.
"I bet she's here to lock Set in a closet again." Isis added as she glanced at her watch. They should be arriving any second. It was movie night and she wanted to go home already. Osiris promised that they could have a "fun" time afterwards.
"Shut up, that was one time!" Sekhmet growled. "And Amun-Ra asked me to come here for your information." Bes and Tutu snickered.
"You better step six feet back then. Set did put a restraining order on you." Bes smirked as Tutu high fived him. "Boom roasted." Sekhmet's scowl only grew larger. That didn't even make sense.
Isis sighed and slapped her forehead. She prefered dealing with Bastet, Sekhmet's twin sister. At least Bastet was reasonable and not always out for blood. Before Sekhment could respond, Amun-Ra's large barque flew into the hangar, prompting several alarms to start sounding out. Constructs placed around the hangar immediately came to life, guiding the barque as it parked.
A ramp immediately descended and soon came Amun-Ra, Set, and a little girl? Wadjet was handing the girl dates slowly, until she departed from the group to help the other crew members of the barque restock for Amun-Ra's trip to the Land of the Dead later.
"Isis baby! How's Osiris doing? Tell the bastard that I can't wait to kick his ass at game night again." Amun-Ra sauntered up to the gathered group of gods and goddesses. Set stood a distance away glaring at Sekhmet. The little girl glowed a dark silver, almost a grey.
"He's doing fine and I'll be sure to." Isis smirked. "He does love taking your money." Amun-Ra laughed at that. Isis gave her brother-in-law a wave, which he returned.
"Anyways." Amun-Ra glanced at Bes, Tutu and Sekhmet, who was standing off the side with a blush on her face. "This is why I have gathered all of you."
Amun-Ra picked up the little girl who started squirming and placed her in front of him.
"Hey!" The young goddess complained, but was ignored by Amun-Ra. Khepri pouted, her arms crossed. She was cute.
"Meet Khepri!"
Isis, Bes, Tutu, and Sekhmet gathered around the table Khepri was laid on. A young goddess found all alone in the desert without any memories? That was quite suspicious indeed. It would be up to the four of them to see if they could piece an image together while fixing Khepri's dehydrated and malnourished body. Sekhmet would focus on healing Khepri's physical body, while Isis would take the lead in healing her mind.
"Don't worry little one, this one hurt one bit." Isis held Khepri's face at the head of the table. "Just close your eyes and relax." They had to kick Amun-Ra out of the room since he kept stressing them out with his constant pacing and ill timed jokes.
"You're lying." Khepri responded dryly. Her young eyes seemed emptier than a goddess her age should have been. Brushing her long curly hair, Isis kept her smile on her face.
"What makes you say that?"
"All adults lie."
Isis paused for a second. Khepri was smart, that much was evident. What if she was a couple century old goddess stuck in the body of a little girl? Nah, the goddess was Egyptian through and through. Something else was at work here.
"If you say so." Isis shrugged. "Now relax, I'm about to begin." She gave Tutu a nod, who started waving his hands as a light purple mist appeared as he disturbed the air around them. The mist clouded Khepri's face, and soon her light snoring filled the room. Hopefully she had pleasant dreams, otherwise this was going to be painful.
Concentrating her power into her hands, Isis placed her hands over Khepri's ears, and she dove in.
Isis opened her eyes, only to face a wall full of broken mirrors, each playing out scenes that were too blurry to make out or make sense of. Tutu appeared next to her. He would be her guide in the head of the young Khepri. Healing the body was an easy feat to accomplish, but the mind was something else entirely. The mind was delicate, sensitive and could be a dangerous place to be.
"Her memories are shattered." Tutu said pointing towards the mirrors. "Dreams are the door to one's memories." He summoned a khopesh out of thin air. "We must be on guard for any nightmares." An inhuman shriek came from the dark side of Khepri's mind.
Isis nodded. "Cover me."
Walking up to one of the mirrors, Isis placed her hand gently on it, Tutu guarding her back. Channeling her power into the mirror carefully, Isis' eyes widened.
A girl missing an arm stumbled forward as hundreds of beings with various powers charged into battle. Many of them were killed, easily being replaced by more. There was something else there! Who was it that they were fighting?
Isis pressed onward, still channeling her power.
Golden eyes stared back.
This...was going to take a while.

I started my new job yesterday. I wrote this when there was a lull in between. How was it? Do you want to see more flashbacks? I wrote this chapter in one sitting so I'm sorry if there are any mistakes.
Who is your favorite Egyptian god/goddess?
