Sparrow stood there in his freakishly tall and bulk stature, still aiming his sword towards the Commandant and his now trembling guards that hid behind him. The blood and bodies of dead guards littering the hard dark stone floor beneath them, the scene looking like a great battle of soldiers that tried to see who could kill and brutally dismayne the most.
The Commandant still didn't understand, this man was barely able to keep himself up off his knees a moment ago and now he was able to cleave through three of his men like they were no more than some insects.
'What type of power is this,' the Commandant thought to himself, 'is it even possible to learn something like this?'
Grath has been watching the whole fight since the beginning and he was undoubtedly impressed by Sparrow's power but was also a bit terrified as he saw the death that he gave way. 'Where has he learned this type of spells?'
The Commandant, after staring at the hulking beast in front of him for a while, finally stood up from the ground, tightening his grip around his sword's hilt . Turning back to his men who quickly turn their focus from Sparrow to him.
"What do all of you think you're doing?" He questioned them, "get up and eliminate him!"
The men look back to Sparrow as he gives off a murderous aura around himself, staring with his Orange yellowish eyes that make him look like a demon that was raised from hell itself.
"You will, OBEY!" the Commandant yelled out to his men as his voice echoed throughout the room. The guards snapping out of their horrified gaze, quickly obeying his command and getting ready to fight.
This time four guards sprint towards Sparrow, one brings out their pistol taking their aim at the center of his head before firing a few times.
Sparrow quickly dashes out of the way of the bullets at speeds that seem impossible for a man of his weight and height. He punches one of the guards straight in the chest knocking him out so far that he falls outside of the force field center.
Before any of the other guards could react, he quickly slashed down a guard ending his life immediately. The two others strike on him both landing a hit, one near his ribs and the other in his right arm holding his sword. And instead of reacting to the pain, he quickly cuts the guard who stabbed him in the ribs down, before pulling out that sword and throwing the blade to the other guard, getting it lodged into the man's chest.
The Commandant with the last of his men charges Sparrow who pulls out the sword embedded in his arm. The Commandant launches multiple bolts of lightning at him causing Sparrow to be stuck where he stood while the guards still charged at him. While Sparrow was stunned by the lightning hitting him, all the guards slashed, stabbed and even shot at the masculine beast man.
A maniacal smile grew on the Commandant's face as he watched his guardsman injuring Sparrow. Finally, after years of defiance and resistance to fellow orders and to obey his commands, that traitor finally gets the suffering he so wished for so long. He may of mentally tortured Recruit 273 extensively in all sorts of ways imaginable but never too physically. Now here he was, groveling in pain and agony from all different weapons and spells used upon him. It truly made the Commandant livid to see all the final pieces of misery he has given this worthless dog that tried to defy his masters.
Grath watched the fight going on from outside of the force field, seeing Sparrow being overwhelmed by the Commandant and the guards. A dreaded look on his face as he watched on being unable to do anything but hope that somehow things turned around in their favor.
"Come on hero, fight out of this!" He tried to motivate the badly beaten hero.
Sparrow was stunned by the lightning hitting him, being unable to even turn his head or move his arms. Like a fly caught in a spider web, all that he could do was shake and thrust where he stood as the spider weaved it's unescapable web and him before injecting it's poisonous venom.
He needed to get out of this, to break through the shocks and fight back. He tried pulling his arm forward towards a guard in front of him who was occupied by slushing him with his sword, Sparrow's arm barely budging an inch but not giving up and pushed harder. He close fist inching slowly away from chest and closer to the oblivious guard. And with one more hard push and loud shouting of anger with determination, he quickly grabbed the guard squeezing the life out of him causing the man to yell in pain as Sparrow threw him with all his strength in the Commandant's way.
The commandant didn't have a second to think before he got knocked out by the now dead guard flying through the air towards him. Getting the wind knocked out of him laying on the ground, knocked out cold.
"Oh shi-" one guard barely blabs out as his bottom half falls to the ground. The two remaining guards get covered by his warm blood, stunned terrified seeing the hulking beast breathe heavily as he turns to face them. They both look on in terror, not daring to move a inch in fear that any kind of movement will start a chain reaction that will result in their death but in the end it didn't matter, as both of them still lost their heads by Sparrow's blade.
looking over his work, Sparrow saw nothing but blood and dead Spire guards all around the area of the circle. In his brute state, he still felt the unyielding desire to kill, to mangle and disfigure any living thing that he saw in his sights but he did also felt that he had more control over his actions and be able to reason.
Suddenly, Sparrow could hear a low rapid beating sound echoing in his head and feel the bumps throughout his body. Found this to be his heartbeat and soon figured the cause for it, the berserk spell was wearing off! He knew that he had no more than a few more moments before the spell was done.
The Commandant was finally able to get himself off from the ground, he saw the crange that was originally his men splurged around the room. Sparrow notices the Commandant is still alive and getting back to his feet to continue the fight. Sparrow knew he only had this one last chance to finish the Commandant before the spell gave out, or himself and Grath would surely perish. The Commandant quickly notices that the giant muscular rage monster that was originally the weak and greatly injured traitor was looking right at him and was running towards his direction. The Commandant tried to raise his arm, hand curled up in a fist. Sparrow tightens his grip on his cutlass, raising it behind his back as he gets closer. For a split moment as they were only a couple of feet away from each, they made eye contact and all that the other could see was the pure hatred that they held for the other, and the undying desire to kill the other.
Together, the Commandant lowers his arm down as Sparrow's cutlass drops down to the Commandant's side in an attempt to cut him in half. Sparrow could hear his heartbeat bump louder and louder, with his vision flashes of red light up every second that went by, his body shaking as he made to put more strength into the swing of his blade.
All was quiet and still in the dark command room as the force field barely gave light throughout the room. Sparrow, who was now back into his weakened state, fell to the ground. The Commandant coughed up blood as he struggles to speak, "C..curse y-you"
Sparrow's cutlass cutting through his heart, his lifeless body dropping to hard stone floor. The force field suddenly disappeared as the Commandant's powers were gone after his death.
Sparrow could barely keep his eyes open as the lifeless body of the Commandant staring back with look of score. 'I've done it,' Sparrow thought to himself, he won but at a cost. The wounds he received from the Commandant were deep and severe to recover even with the beresk spell's ability to lessen the damage the wielder receives. He could feel his warm blood crawling along his stomach and legs, feeling weaker as each fleeting moment to the point where he could move his arms. Before he felt himself drifting away from consciousness, he saw what looked to Will energy in the form of round balls floating away from the Commandant's body to Grath's out stretch arms, his Will lines glowing bright all around his body. Grath looked over to Sparrow, and he could see his lips moving as if he was talking to him but Sparrow couldn't hear a word of what he said. His eyes fell heavier and were close to closing, the last Sparrow saw before blacking into the dark void nothing, was Grath walking over to one of the dead Spire guards and searching his body for something.
For some reason, Sparrow wasn't scared this time being close to death. In fact, it was the closest he felt at peace, that everything was simple and final, that he had control over the last pieces of calm and quiet of life he had once had. He couldn't hear the humming beating of the Spire anymore, everything was……
