World's Greatest Superhero

Chapter 1

It was a splendid day here in New York, the city that never sleeps, where our hero resides, as he was working in his private lab, in his newly 'acquired' company building, named after him; Parker Industries. He was working in his new suit the Spider Armour Mk IV, an upgrade from the former Spider Armour suit.

"Man... This is great! I was always too broke to afford to buy myself some nanotech for my spidey costume." says Peter out loud while working holding his finished handiwork.

'Then again, I'm able to do this because of Otto' Peter scowls while thinking about the dead Dr. Octopus. The man was responsible for straining his relationship with Mary Jane, the Avengers, killing Massacre and brutally beating up Screwball and other criminals making the whole city despise(once again) and fear him. Nowadays, whenever he went to stop crimes, not only criminals but ordinary bystanders cower and run away before him, a sight that upset the hero when he calls back to a time when he attempted to stop a mugging from an innocent woman, but as soon as he landed in front of the thief and the victim, both of them were terrified.

"Please, don't kill me, just take me to the cops" the mugger said on his knees after throwing away his knife. While the lady just as scared as the robber ran away saying, "Jameson and everyone were right about you being a menace! This city is full of freaks, I'm out of here!"

Spidey to this day thought about the incident and felt sadness, Ock ruined his reputation, not that it wasn't already bad but even then. The avengers didn't trust him, Ock also quit his membership while he was in his body. The bad rep that he garnered from the criminals, the city, and the superhero community was too much. So much so that some heroes would often trash talk behind his back and now in front of him.

"Well, maybe a swing through the city would clear my head, besides I want to test out the new suit" said Peter, exiting his building through a window.

He swings across Manhattan, stopping a few muggings here and there, while also getting insulted by the victims he saved. He kept on swinging around town until his Spider-sense went off, coincidentally that's when an explosion went off from a Museum, he quickly went to check out the source of the explosion.

Inside the Museum

The guards inside the museum were all knocked out whilst the attacker kept on walking around in search of something. The museum had barely any bright lights.

"A Museum with nothing but LED lights, that's just asking to get robbed," said White Rabbit, Lorina Dodson, a small-time thief. She wanted to steal something to sell it to the black market and maybe go for out a night out if all goes smoothly.

"Let's see… I need something that looks expensive" that's when her eyes land on a tablet. "The Tablet of Order and Chaos… sounds like a powerful weapon, I think I have heard of it, but can't remember where from. Anyway, many people would pay me the top dollar for it!" Lorina thought as she broke the glass cage holding the tablet with her umbrella full of explosives. She was about to get the tablet until a web shot through her and yanked the tablet away from her.

White Rabbit turned out and saw the arachnid "Spiderman!" she shot explosives in his direction while the wall-crawler would expertly dodge them with the help of his Spider-sense. "Hi White Rabbit, haven't seen in a while, like the new suit?" asked the wall-crawler. "Shut up! I could've just taken this artifact and sold it to the black market but no you had to show up and ruin everything like always!" she said while shooting.

Spidey webbed the tablet on his back and lept into the ceiling before jumping to a nearby pillar to avoid her shooting. 'Alright, spidey think, I should distract her while also avoiding her bombs and bullets and then get behind and knock her out. WAIT I know what to do!"

Spidey avoid another blast and webbed her eyes, the White rabbit was struggling to take the webbing off her eyes, but when she did, the spider was nowhere to be seen and that's when a voice behind her said, "Glad to know the invisibility function on the suit works" before knocking her out.

Cops were called, they were arresting White Rabbit and once they saw the arachnid, one of the cops shouted: "Go away Spider-Man we got it from here!" "Jeez I do 80% of the work and that's how you repay me?" spidey asked, while the cop who initially shouted replied "Do you realize how much paperwork this is going to cost us? I planned to spend time with my wife tonight and now I'm gonna be stuck in the office all night, all thanks to you!" Spidey looks back at the damage caused by his tussle with White Rabbit, the blushing hidden thanks to his mask sheepishly apologized to the cop, "Well ermm, I'm sorry for your inconvenience" The cop simply spat on the floor. "Before I forget, let me give you what she was trying to steal," said the wall-crawler. Before he would hand over the tablet, The tablet of Order and Chaos started glowing, Spidey who was holding the tablet was a bit nervous, and before he could think of anything, a bright shot through the entire museum the cops were recovering and they saw the tablet on the floor, no sign of the arachnid hero. One of the cops secretly worried asks, "Do you think the bug is alright?" "I don't know Carl, but hopefully, we'll see him" replied his colleague.

Somewhere else

Julia Carpenter, better known as Madame Webb and the former Spider-Woman while she was cooking for her daughter, felt a painful jolt in her head. "What the heck was that? Wait, where was Peter? I can't sense him! It's like he's not in this dimension… Oh My God!" Julia started panicking for a whole 10 minutes, before finally snapping out of it.

"Was this Morlun's doing? No, they just recently dealt with him" referring to the Spider-verse event, where the inheritors were on the hunt for spider-powered beings across the multiverse. Fortunately, Spider-man, from this universe stepped up and lead his spider army through victory.

"If it wasn't Morlun or any of the inheritors then who did this? Even if he went to another universe, I still would've been able to sense him" said Julia out loud.

"First things first, I need to summon all the spiders and find out what's going on, maybe the avengers can help me out" Julia made her mind up.

Julia was dialing someone until the person on the other end picked up, "Jessica, Peter's gone." Julia heard a gasp but continued. "Tell the other spiders, Miles, Anya, Cindy, and Gwen to come to my house."

Jessica on the other hand quickly recovered and replied, "Alright Julia, I'll call the others, and maybe you further explain the situation." before hanging up.

In Avengers Mansion

Spider-Woman, her real identity is Jessica Drew who was an ex-hydra agent and later turned into a new leaf and became a crucial member of the avengers. Spider-Woman and her counterpart, Spider-Man were good friends, that was until superior Spider-Man came along and ruined their relationship or 'friendship'. The Avengers witnessed the brutality of Superior Spider-Man and cast him out of the Avengers, they also threatened to arrest him if he ever showed his face or mask in front of the tower.

Jessica just finished telling the rest of the spider clan about Julia's call. She just sat on the couch of her room and started quietly sobbing, whilst looking at her sleeping child.

"What have I done? Peter is gone and I was never able to tell him the truth about Gerry… and the last time I did see him, I insulted him and shamed him, I told him that he was a good-for-nothing hero and maybe it wasn't Ock that did all of those atrocities but him all along, just making excuses." "I distanced myself from him because I thought that Gerry was better off without him but now I regret that decision so much" "I'm going to make this right, once we get gathered together, we'll find Peter, and then I will tell him that he's Gerry's father and maybe we could start something from there." She made up her mind and was more determined than anything to right her wrong, and with that, she went out of the mansion, to Julia's meeting place.

In an Unknown Universe

Two warriors were seen to be fighting in a wasteland full of rocks. One of them was wearing a blue Saiyan gear with spikey hair and a big forehead, a scowl always present on his face. The said warrior was shooting ki blasts at his opponent who was wearing an orange martial artist jumpsuit with spikier hair and slightly taller than the former.

"Alright, Kakarot turn into your Ultra Instinct form!" shouted Vegeta "Well, that's the thing Vegeta, I don't know how to do it," said Kakarot or better known as Son Goku, the savior of the universe. "What?" exclaimed Vegeta.

The two get into arm hold contest pushing each other in the opposite direction, a battle of dominance, before both of them fly away to a crater opposite to each other and resume their conversation.

"Yeah I can't do it but I have a feeling I might reach it once again!" said Goku determined at the prospect. "Bah! In that case, I'll reach a level higher than that!" said Vegeta "Vegeta that's not fair!" "Shut up Clown! I won't allow you to be stronger than me anymore" Both of the warriors had smirks on their faces before flying to clash with each other.

Before they could resume their fight a bright light came in the sky and disappeared before dropping something… or someone from what both of the Saiyan were seeing but before the individual could fall to his death, Goku caught him in just in time. Vegeta broke the silence and asked, "What the hell was that? And who is this freak?" Goku answered, "Honestly don't know, we could bring this guy to Bulma, she'll know what to do I think" both of them nodded at the suggestion and fly off to the Capsule Corporation in West City.
