Chapter 8 My Code Practice
The rest of the week was spent with school work both mundane and magical as well as spending time with Sam, occasionally with Sam and Miles as well as working on my hobbies. It's now Saturday and Sam is hanging out with Miles and I am currently drawing while waiting for Tom to arrive.
"Arietta, Tom is here" Aunt Judy calls
"I'm coming" I call back I put my pencil down and I get up from the table in my room and I make my way downstairs and to the living room. "Hi, Tom how are you?" I greet when I enter the living room
"I'm good thanks" Tom answers
"I'm going to work in the garden let me know if you need anything" Aunt Judy exclaims
"We will Aunt Judy" I answer with that Aunt Judy leaves the house enters the back garden.
"Tom, you have all my memories of my first life right?" I ask
"Yes, I do why?" Tom replies
"Well then you will know in my first life I created my code for a game I was making. I was thinking that when we go to Hogwarts, I could teach the code to Clint, and Natasha and we could send coded reports to them with a code nobody in this world apart from Clint, Natasha, you and I will know of. What do you think of that idea?" I explain I can see Tom thinking about everything I have explained
"That is a good idea, the code you created does not look like any rune that is in existence as well as appearing as random shapes that seem like you made a mistake when drawing shapes" Tom starts pausing to think a bit more "We should go with that idea as it is a code that unless you know the whole intricate details of the code you can't break the code easily" Tom finishes
"Okay, we will go with the idea, any suggestions for how I could explain about the code to Clint and Natasha without telling them anything about me being reincarnated and why I have a code of my own without them teaching me any codes in detail yet?" I ask
"We could wait a bit and practice the code ourselves and wait to tell them about the code until they have taught you some codes in detail" Tom suggests
"Yeah let's go with that since it will give me a chance of refreshing myself on my code I created and give you a chance to fully understand my code" I agree
"Now, let's work on your Occlumency abilities" Tom exclaims "Are you ready?" Tom asks
"I'm ready" I answer with that Tom enters my mind with Legilimency and he tested my shields, he got as far as my last shield before being thrown out of my mind.
"You're getting there, how are you going with the traps?" Tom asks
"I'm working on them, I am still trying to work out what type of traps I want, where I want them in each area between the shield walls. How many and what level of traps do I want the traps to be at" I answer
"Yeah, it makes sense that you need to work that out yourself, while I could suggest some ideas for those things you are working on. I won't you'll work out with trial and error" Tom starts "Your current traps I came across were good but need to be stronger" Tom finishes
"They will be stronger, like I said I am working on them. Shall we start practising with the code?" I ask
"Yes let's start" Tom agrees
"We should first ensure that we have the code key to decode and encode fresh in our minds, how do you want to go about doing this?" I voice
"Shall we focus first on having the code key fresh in our minds before we start practising your code" Tom suggests
"Good idea, let's do that for a few minutes" I agree with that we spend several minutes focusing on having the code key fresh in our minds "Do you want to try decoding a code from me first the switch or do you want to try encoding a code for me to decode?" I ask after several minutes have passed
"I'll try decoding first, how about if I try decoding for three times then we switch and you decode three times and we keep alternating like that" Tom replies
"That sounds good how long do you want this practice with my code to be?" I agree
"How about a couple of hours and we practice this every time we meet up" Tom suggests
"Yeah that's a good idea, that way eventually the code will become second nature to us" I voice so with that we practice the code for a couple of hours and after that couple of hours we exchanged greetings as Tom needed to go.
Saturday 22nd July 1995
Well today has been the most eventful and productive day than I thought it would be. Tom was so interested in the code that I made up in my first life that he thought that it was good enough to be able to use it in coded reports. He also said that my code looks nothing like runes which didn't attract my attention before but now I think about it it's true they don't look anything like runes. Which means that any spells to decode messages has a good possibility of not decoding my code, I think the only way to work that out is when I tell Clint and Natasha about the code.
We decided to wait until they teach me actual codes before I told them about my code. So after we practiced my occlumency skill we practiced using my code for a couple hours then he had to go.
I wonder how Clint and Natasha will react when I finally tell them about the code I created. I'll have to come up with a different story on how I came up with the code for them as they don't know that I was reincarnated and I want to keep it that way.
