Tricks, Treats, and Deadly Sweets Part 3
Shego couldn't exactly pinpoint her emotions as she saw her brother looking around from the entrance. A quick scan of his attire made it clear he was there for the party, unless he'd picked up a new habit of dressing like a mad doctor. As agitation and panic took over after sh glanced around the table she resided at, she swiftly stood up. Barely acknowledging nearly knocking Drakken out of his chair. As he'd still been leaning towards her at the time. Not even bothering to excuse herself or even wonder if Drakken was following her, she wove through the crowd towards Mego. The smug smirk on his face as he saw her headed his direction shifted her mood to anger.
"What are you doing here?" hissed Shego.
"Could say the same for you," Mego crossed his arms, "Thought you and Drakken weren't villains anymore?"
Drakken's voice came from over her shoulder.
"We aren't—"
Shego cut him off.
"What we do and who we are with is no ones business- did you follow us here?" asked Shego.
A sudden paranoia that her brothers might have started keeping tabs on her again, further increased her glare.
"Geesh," snorted Mego. His eye roll and sigh did little to break Shego's concern, "You know, Sis, its not always about you. I do have a life you know."
"Since when?" asked Shego. Mego's smirk faded into a scowl, "Is Hego up to something?"
"Yes," snorted Mego, "He sent me to a random villain hangout on Halloween to see if you were here, because the finger puppets have grown boring for him."
"Finger puppets?" Drakken asked.
She gave a glance as Drakken, choosing to leave that for a later topic.
"Shh," Shego waved him off but then focused on Drakken's casual expression, "Did you tell him we were here?"
Drakken suddenly looked offended.
"Me?" asked Drakken, "What reason would I have for that?"
"Well why else would he be here?" scoffed Shego.
Before any further conversation could continue, Gina offered them a tray of shot glasses that the staff was distributing.
"Not right now," Shego brushed her off. Drakken reached for one, "Really?"
"They're in little beakers," muttered Drakken. Clearly wanting to swipe the glass rather than the drink.
"Now that's a costume," smirked Mego as he took a glass from Gina.
Shego groaned and grabbed two glasses and handed them to Drakken. About to interrupt with further interrogation of her brother being here, but was paused by the conversation happening in front of her.
"Thanks," shrugged Gina, "It's like my favorite member of Team Go."
"Well then you have good taste," continued Mego.
The attempt to process the exchange was shoved aside as she glanced back at her table. It was very clear her and Drakken's abrupt exit of the table had caused a conversation to take place as to why. The huddled group of villains glancing their way, focused Shego's questions to concern.
"You should leave," stated Shego.
Whatever Mego was about to say to Gina as she passed out a few more drinks to passerby's, ended at Shego's words.
"Planning on it," Mego rolled his eyes and turned back to Gina, "Where'd you get the costume-"
"She probably got it from a place called Go City Costumes, seriously Mego," sighed Shego.
It was Gina who raised a brow at her this time before turning towards Mego.
"It's going to be a while. Herby's missing and the new guy had too many Dementor's. Conner and the others have to stay a little longer," said Gina and turned to leave.
"What?" asked Shego as she looked at her brother, her hand grabbing the short cape of Gina's costume in tandem, "Your waiting for them?"
She nodded her head towards the general direction of the Villain's Inn staff.
"I would like an apology for insinuating I invited him here," muttered Drakken. Shego covered his mouth.
Shego glanced towards the bartender as she let go of her cape, a clearly affronted look on her face. A small mental note to avoid getting anymore drinks from her this evening was a minor concern as Shego processed what was happening. She wanted to ask a series of questions, but her own mind drew a conclusion of how easy the two meeting might have been. One of the many concerns she'd had about anyone from the Villains Inn going to Go City, especially the Underground. The reality Gina had brought up earlier was the fact she had spent a few years off and on residing in the rooms above and a few drinks to many chatting... plus the added darker gossip of the shady clientele of the Underground was not a welcoming thought... but more concerning was the very thing she was seeing before her. One of Hego's rare attempts at interrogating the staff there and she could almost see the conversation about she being a connection to Team Go. The fact that Mego would welcome a new face who may have asked general questions he could embellish on for his own attention, was too easy a conclusion.
"I take it you two met at the Underground?" asked Drakken as he pulled Shego's hand away, "Why anyone goes there..."
Drakken trailed off and Shego saw a disturbed and distant look in his eyes as he stopped talking.
"Hego decided to try and interrogate people there," shrugged Mego, "Or really attempt to make others think he was when we were looking for Phantom Maker."
"Who?" scoffed Drakken. Shego shook her head.
"One of the long list of people not to meet even in a well lit place, let alone a back alley," answered Mego. Gina cringed.
"Unfortunately the Underground is just one big back alley," she sighed, "As well as a general hazard to ones safety and health... you end up visiting the ER more often then one should."
"Where she realized who the most crucial member of Team Go is," grinned Mego smugly, "Hero, savior, helping hand... the all around essential member... and best conversationalist."
Gina gave a small smirk towards Shego.
"I don't know what's exactly going on here, but I better not be part of these conversations," warned Shego.
Mego gestured to himself as he looked at Gina who shrugged in response to this.
"Wow, sis. Whose the conceded one, now?" snorted Mego.
"Still you. But I'm certain you have lulls in the Tales of Mego," Shego rolled her eyes, "One can only hear so much about a person talking about themselves."
"I've not heard a complaint," said Mego confidently.
"Give it time," whispered Shego towards Gina.
"I work around villains everyday. Honestly I hear nothing but conceded megalomaniacs, weirdos, criminals, and self entitled thugs daily," said Gina. She smiled towards Mego, "At least when Mego talks about himself its interesting. I have to go there's a line again."
Gina hurried away but not before Drakken swiped another small beaker.
"See," said Mego smugly, "I'm interesting."
"Congratulations you found the one person on earth who finds you interesting," Shego rolled her eyes and scoffed, "Give it time."
"Actually-" Mego's words were cut off as he looked behind she and Drakken, "Hello?"
Drakken and Shego both turned to look where Mego was staring. Shego's blood ran cold as the sight of their entire table standing right behind them. Judging by the varied gleeful and devious expressions, she hadn't been imagining the huddle she'd witnessed earlier. Ed was the first to speak, the hint of amusement in his voice not wavering.
"Seriously, why are you all blocking the exit," he asked, "We have a table."
"He can't stay-" Shego was cut off a Adrena threw an unwelcome arm around her.
"Shego, you never mentioned you have brothers," grinned Adrena, "I wondered who those guys were at the UN, Motor Ed just filled us in"
"Family is very important," added Duff, "You should come join us."
Lucre had darted to the other side of Mego, where Dementor had also snuck next too.
"Motor Ed said you're a superhero?" asked Lucre, "Now that I'm curious about... because you know Shego was a villain. Interesting she ones from an opposite family."
Neither Shego or Drakken had much time to react as their table crew began moving back in that direction, Mego now in the middle of them.
"I have so many questions," was the last thing Shego heard from Cleopatra as they wove back through the crowd.
Shego could only watch in horrified silence as Mego was ushered off by her one time villainous colleagues. She was trying to process a way to stop what was happening without simply setting fire to the Inn as a means of distraction, but while she could threaten and make a scene... none ended with it getting out of whatever was about to happen.
"It's a good thing we aren't villains anymore... or this would really be awkward," grimaced Drakken. Shego glared at him, "What? Oh, you act like I don't have Eddie blabbing stories... Welcome to the club of reputation destruction Ala family."
Shego bit back a snappy response, only for the fact she had other concerns than winning an argument against Drakken.
This is going to be a disaster.
The bouncing leg of Shego next to hit as they sat at the loud a lively table, made it clear she was more on edge than her calm expression conveyed. Drakken took in the multitude of drinks Adrena and Lucre had bother consumed, asking more and more tales of Go City, something he himself wasn't even fond of. He could have also done without she being perched on Lucre's lap as Mego complimented their costumes. Then Dementor who was thriving and snickering as both Ed and Mego went back and forth with family tales. Most of his having been clearly shared by the add ins the table was stating. He rolled his eyes and sipped his water, glancing at Shego every few seconds. He'd made a few attempts at stopping the conversations, but it had only egged on more questions and more tales of his own being thrown in by Ed. Who Drakken glared at as he and Cleopatra snickered and whispered, it had been more than abundantly clear, fetching Mego had been instigated by one if not both of them.
Best not run into Shego anytime soon alone, if they know whats good for them.
The thought of stealing his cousins engine came to mind, but the reality that Ed could and would get revenge was also a concern. He felt Shego's hand clench on his pant leg and his internal playing of he and Ed having a revenge war was pushed aside. Gina had brought over more drinks, which had been amply supplied since Mego joined the table, another reason the table seemed so welcoming he was sure. With it the topic had shifted back to another tale of Shego.
"Oh please, there were dozens of signs Shego was headed towards villainy," snorted Mego, answering a question he had not heard, "Heck, her first crush was a villain."
Adrena gave a giddy gasp.
"I want to hear this!" she grabbed her phone, "Why isn't Amy or Camille here!"
"None of this better be recorded," snapped Shego, "And I think we've talked enough about me..."
Shego grabbed the discarded magazine.
"Lets talk about Camille since you brought it up," Shego hastened. Drakken moved aside as she yanked open the magazine, "Suddenly back with her family, avoiding villainy... seems awfully suspicious. Thoughts?"
Drakken took the hint.
"Plotting revenge? Just wants money? Truly good again," he asked. Then Mego's words clicked, "She had a crush on a Go City villain?"
The nails in his leg was unnecessary but Drakken swiftly changed the topic again.
"But villain gossip... Camille... shall we?" he hissed.
"As much as I want to talk about that," said Adrena, she looked at Mego, "I want to hear tiny hero Shego crushing on a bad-ass villain."
"Wait, what have I missed, "Duff had returned."
"They're about to talk about Mr. LiteBrite," smirked Gina as she passed out drinks.
Drakken remembered the name and partial story of Shego's Christmas tale about her one time acquaintance, but judging by the tint to Shego's face and the rage... he had been right in his teasing about it being a crush when she'd told him the story.
"You told her," glared Shego.
"To be fair... I tell anyone that story who will listen," smirked Mego, "So she was like sixteen at the time and-"
"It was not a crush and I think we should move on to something... like how about some villain tales-" Shego was cut off.
"Agreed," stated Lucre. Drakken watched Shego relax, "But after this."
"It was a crush," muttered Mego, "She drew doodles of him with hearts and whatnot... then she'd burn them if we saw..."
"Speaking of burning," hissed Shego. Drakken saw the faint green glow in her hand under the table."
"Was her cute?" asked Cleopatra.
"Who knows. He had one of those gross 80s light masks... thus the name... he could have been some hideous brute, but sis here had it bad-" Mego was cut off as Shego stood with her hands ablaze.
"I think you need to leave, now," she growled.
Drakken took in the table and how unphased Mego was, but the glowing light in Shego's hand played out a scenario of utter chaos about to happen. He knew Mego would know how to avoid his sisters rage having grown up with her, but the casualties of the Inn being torn apart and inciting a villain fight was of more concern. The fact he had already been on edge about coming here and what lines it may cross came flying back to him. There had already been unresolved conversation about he and Shego being points of interest in various gossip magazines, headlines of her going ballistic at a villain hangout filled his vision as he quickly restrained her.
"Shego, why don't we go dance-" Drakken pulled her back from the table.
"Does it look like I want to dance," hissed Shego as he got her a few feet from the table, "Do you mind."
"I do mind if your about to level this place because your brother is chatty," he whispered.
"If I want to level the place, that's my business," she snapped as she looked at him.
"I don't think the headlines would see it that way," said Drakken, "What's its matter... everyone has embarrassing stories."
"Want me to tell them about Stumpy?" glared Shego.
Drakken glanced behind her.
"I think they already know," grumbled Drakken.
"I don't need my brother ruining my reputation of you restraining me," it was abundantly clear as her hand glowed in his face of just how upset this had made her.
Drakken took a step back from her but stood his ground.
"You also don't want to overreact to something trivial that could have severe ramifications," stated Drakken.
Shego's hand stopped glowing and she narrowed her eyes further.
"Overreaction?" asked Shego, "You just wrestled Motor Ed for his phone with your powers over a blurry photo of us kissing... but my brother telling everyone my deepest personal secrets is an overreaction?"
Drakken opened his mouth to defend himself but he couldn't think of anything to say. He sputtered something that he himself couldn't decipher... all it did was earn him a growl as Shego turned away from him.
"Shego-"
"I'm going to the bathroom," snapped Shego before moving aggressively in that direction.
Drakken sighed as he watched her vanish. He wanted to come up with a response while she was gone, but as thought about it more clearly, he begrudgingly knew she was correct. This only made him irritated as he grumbled under his breath. He had been on the fence about coming to this party and so far it had proven a fruitless adventure. Knowing he should probably apologize to Shego only further soured his dwindling mood. Looking towards the table in the cleared distance, still chatting and talking as if Shego had not been about to blast them all, made his eyes narrow. A thought occurred as he looked at all of them. Drakken smirked as he returned to the table, and readied the backlash he was going to get for his next action.
"She's always been that dramatic," snickered Mego as he stood at the table.
"Speaking of dramatic," stated Drakken, "We've talked about Shego an awful lot... I think we all have some rather fun tales to share."
"We could talk about your first robot," smirked Ed, "He got de-pantsed in front of the whole school-"
"Yes, hilarious de-pantsing... does anyone want to hear about Eddie's first crush?" asked Drakken.
"Yes," said Cleopatra.
"Cuz, I think that's unnecessary," interrupted Ed.
"So reluctant," smirked Lucre, "I want to hear because of that alone."
Drakken smirked.
Shego had managed to fight the urge to storm outside to blast a few trashcans just to let off steam... but not the one at the candy laden table that had exploded a few small fudge cakes on a few people. No one had noticed and it had been assumed it was part of the gimmick of them. As she slammed over the bathroom door she was relieved to see it was completely empty and the closing of the door behind her cut the beating noise of the dance music. A look back at the tilted mirrors in front of her showed the tint to her complexion and her own sour expression.
With an eye roll she readied a small blast at a trashcan, but stopped herself.
Why?
It wasn't a question about letting off steam, but more to her current ruffled feelings. She was livid with Mego's spontaneous appearance on her evening, deeply concerned what stories had been shared between him and the head bartenders of the Villain's Inn... but the stories he's been sharing hadn't been anything to ruin her credibility... a few well told tales of her agility... a few humble fails... and even a few about red flags of her villainy...
He shouldn't be here.
She glared at her reflection.
I shouldn't be here.
There it was, the reality that since they'd gotten here it had been one awkward and unsettling moment after another. Her unease as being here and her last visit, the gossip among the villains... she felt out of place... just like she had when she'd been at Junior's birthday on the island... that fear of being left behind because she wasn't one of them... and Mego's tales ruining her reputation... made her even more on edge.
She let out a deep sigh as she leaned over the sink, attempting to calm down enough to at least return to the table and not blast her brother... but Drakken was right to stop her... the last thing she wanted was to initiate a violent brawl if she missed. Her brow furrowed as she fixed her dress, her agitation at the situation switch to Drakken who hadn't second guessed simply pulling her away. She shook her head and forced the thoughts away.
I can always get revenge on Mego later.
She gave a faint smirk to herself.
Reputation?
She looked at the faucet in thought. Even if she wasn't a villain like she'd once been... the idea of her well cultivated and hard earned representation being tarnished bothered her more than it should. Out of place she may feel not causing criminal chaos or grand capers... but she didn't want to loose what she'd built... and the particular alliances she'd attained over the years. She did however wish to maintain her current lifestyle of ease and comfort that villainy could cost if she wanted to reestablish her reputation.
The idea of a simple phone call getting her designer things for a literal steal, a toxic yet exciting villainous weekend, or even a quick and expensive luxury vehicle with a single swipe of the hand for keys and a wallet or two... it paled in comparison to the lair she called home, the plants she'd grown so fond of in such a short time, the mysteries of her current renovation project, and the comfort of not having to be on constant guard and simply enjoy a movie with Drakken... was a much better trade.
She scoffed at herself.
"Clearly I'm losing it," grumbled Shego, "Now I'm having epiphanies of my mental state in a scuzzy villain bathroom."
The door opened and a few giggling women came in chatting... it was her cue to exit and maker her way back to her table. Her mind momentarily pondering how she could shift the table to turn on each other as she opened the door, before deciding to simply take Drakken up on that dance. It would be an easy way for her to get her statement across without actually apologizing.
Maybe I should work on that- one progressive step this evening is more than enough.
She smirked to herself before walking right into Drakken.
"What were you waiting out here for me?" asked Shego as she took a step back.
"Well here... outside," he muttered, "Was a little worried you'd taken off."
"Maybe I just need to use the bathroom," shrugged Shego.
"Or blow up some cakes," smirked Drakken as he nodded towards the still messy table.
"Maybe they did that on their own," shrugged Shego. She sighed, "Got sick of our table?"
"Eh, I turned them all on each other and went to find you," replied Drakken, "Well to be honest after Killigan punched Dementor, I lost interest."
"Did you turn them on each other for your own selfish desire?" questioned Shego.
Shego watched Drakken tilt his head back and forth in thought.
"Normally I would say yes, but currently I was hoping it would put you in a better mood," said Drakken.
Shego felt the smirk on her lips fall into a smile as she slipped her arms through his.
"You mentioned a dance?" she asked.
Drakken opened his mouth to clearly say something other than dancing, but it closed and he nodded before they moved towards the dance floor. It wasn't so much a slow song but given the others around them were so loaded they were barely moving, no one would notice them slow dancing to a mid tempo song. It took Drakken a second to catch on she wasn't about to dance to it properly, but he didn't seem to mind as his hand laced with hers while his other found her waist.
"To be clear, this dance isn't because your secretly covering up a mild homicide in the bathroom, is it?" Drakken teased.
Shego snickered.
"Why, want to be implicated as my accomplice?" she replied. Drakken's expression relaxed into a soft smirk.
Shego felt the warmth return to her face at the look he was giving her and she quickly moved to rest her head on his shoulder. She was still coming down from a prior emotional roller coaster, and she knew she would say too much or it would turn too mushy for her at the moment. Instead she changed the topic, or rather continued the topic.
"So did I miss anything noteworthy?" asked Shego, her eyes slightly focused on the collar of Drakken's coat.
"Since crushes were the topic of choice, I decided to tell about Eddie's first crush," chuckled Drakken. It came as a muffled rumble from where Shego's head rested.
She smirked.
"The school lunch lady?" asked Shego.
"Naturally... in all her hairspray and gaudy makeup glory... he wasn't very happy I told everyone... but since Lucre egged it on... Eddie turned on him and the letters of Lucre's he read when they shared a cell," continued Drakken. He snickered, "His mother calls him Francie-Cake."
"Don't think you should be snickering that much there Drewbie," replied Shego.
"Same for you, She-She," grumbled Drakken. Shego rolled her eyes, "Well from there it turned ugly. Lucre turned on Adrena and her nighttime teddy bear... to Cleopatra and her apparently fake gold jewelry... spiraling to a delightful brawl between Killigan and Dementor over strudel."
Shego pulled away to look at him.
"I was in the bathroom for ten minutes, maybe fifteen," she stated.
Drakken looked smug.
"We both know nothing takes down a villain quite like their own personal ego," said Drakken.
"Yes, I know... I witnessed it every Monday for three years," said Shego. She watched his brow furrow, "Oh don't pout."
"It wasn't every Monday," he muttered.
"Your right," shrugged Shego. He smiled until she continued, "Sometimes it was a weekend."
"You know, suddenly I don't feel like dancing," said Drakken as his hand attempted to shake off Shego's, "Excuse me. I want my hand back."
"I don't feel like it," hummed Shego as she placed her head on his shoulder again and closed her eyes.
She grinned as she heard him grumble but he didn't stop dancing as she leaned into him. He was surprisingly silent as they moved slowly along the floor and Shego didn't complain. Something about the slow movement contrasting the temp of the music, and the fast thumping under her ear that made her forget where they were... until loud cheering interrupted from near the bar spoiling the moment.
She begrudgingly looked to where some sort of Halloween drinking game was taking place. She was about to comment on maybe having some mischievous fun of their own and interrupting the loud group, when she noticed something else.
"Why is my brother behind the bar?" asked Shego as she pulled away from Drakken.
"Oh that," said Drakken casually, "Between all the fighting he announced something about him doing a better job then whoever this new person is holding up his plans."
"I was already thinking about this but-" Drakken cut Shego off.
"We are never coming back here again?" smirked Drakken.
"Exactly," breathed Shego.
She was pulled away from the idea of getting Mego stuck in Herby the severed hands jar before she could decide how to begin it. Drakken's had leaned closer to her as the loud bar area and the music began to mingle badly as a faster song began.
"Do you want to go upstairs?" his breath tickled her ear as he spoke.
It was nothing compared to the swirling in her stomach at his question. Any thought that had been holding on from earlier vanished at the insinuation. The memory of only a few hours ago of what they had been in the middle of before coming to the party, did nothing to push that thought aside.
It's Drakken.
She internally cursed the voice of logic that came busting in to stop her mind wondering down the path she was more than hoping for. She raised a brow as she reluctantly pulled away to attempt to read his expression. She examined his face for any sign that indicated one way or another and found nothing. There was know nervous grin, not hue to his expression... he looked perfectly calm and mildly hopeful.
"Yeah," she responded. Regardless she was more than ready to leave.
"Good, then-" Drakken was cut off as someone bumped into them, "Do you mind!"
His words seemed not to phase the person who continued to stumble around the dance floor and fall into a bunch of other dancers.
"Someone's reached their limit," scoffed Shego. She looked towards the bar, "Before we go I have to make a minor scene."
"I'm going to make sure the scene I helped cause doesn't have ramification later," nodded Drakken, "Meet at the door in three?"
"Unless you see a green or purple blast," smirked Shego.
Drakken indicated to the rotating lights around them.
"Meet you in three," sighed Shego as she shoved him ahead of her in the direction of their table.
Shego weaved through more stumbling drinkers and a few brawls and made her way to the bar. Debating on making it obvious she was irritated at her brother by simply blasting something he was using or being less transparent and ruining his fun another way. The problem was, like all evening, the bar was packed... and more people seemed less patient in waiting... the fun drinking game from earlier seemed to had taking a turn towards the hostile. Shego stepped back as someone tackled someone off a stool.
"Knock it off!" yelled the male head bartender.
Conner? Oh who cares.
Shego backed against the wall as something flew by... a rogue dagger it had appeared to be. She glared in the direction it had come from and saw a bunch of people slumped around the sweets table. The only person not dancing, fighting, or slumped was a figure of a slender young man in green light who was simply looking towards her. She looked towards his hand to see if it was in a throwing position, but it was firmly in his pocket while the other was heavily wrapped in a cast. The creepy feeling from the dance floor earlier this evening came back, but nothing about the young man was familiar or warranted as to why a dagger had been thrown from that direction.
"That's it, everyone's cut off!" yelled one of the staff members.
Shego looked back at the bar where a few patrons has been shoved off the bar and broken bottles not littered the floor. Her eyes glanced towards the table and then the bar as laughter and shouts of drunken cheerfulness were replaced by yells, screams, and loud aggressive noises. Turning back to the table, she didn't see the young man there but what she saw instead sent every hair on her body on end. The people who had been slumped over the table looked... different. Various costumes had obscured their identities, but as she saw webbed-clawed hands where there shouldn't be any... and the faces of the those not masked with snarling fangs and a darkening green pallor... she knew the alcohol wasn't to blame for the turn at hand.
Shego looked towards the nearest familiar face and found her brother punching out someone climbing over the bar.
"Mego!" she yelled, gaining his attention before he looked behind her with wide disgusted eyes.
Shego swing around to see two people advancing on her, no longer hunched over and red eyes glowing in her direction. She fired a blast towards them but it did very little as the on she hit simply glowed more before shooting some slimy projectile in her direction. She dodged it and managed to clear herself around the bar corner and some patrons whose skin looked to be shifting colors of their own. It was a clearer image of the dance floor where those not sprinting towards the exits not held a similar transforming appearance as if they had all been cast as horrifying extras on a monster movie. Her eyes glanced towards the exit as something loud screeched from them... doors. Heavy metal doors sealed the exits as various people darted out of them before they sealed.
"Well that's helpful," snapped Shego in the direction of a staff member.
"Who turned on the doors!?" yelled Conner angrily.
Shego focused her attention on where her table had been as she moved aside as Gina moved quickly to something on the wall that apparently would open the doors. She scanned the area for Drakken but was only met with more shifting creatures and upturned tables and chairs. The sound of laser blasts indicated to where Dementor huddled behind a beam firing at any creature who came too close.
"Shego!"
She turned her head in attempt to located the familiar voice of Drakken. She immediately took a defensive stance as years of having to do so came easily. She couldn't decide which direction it came from, but darted through the crowd easily. Taking a few well trained leaps to kick a few of the mutated patrons in her haste. Scanning the area where she glanced to see a small blasts of fire from who she assumed may have been Pyro Pete but her attention fell to Adrena and Lucre who were using chairs as a guard from attackers. Adrena landed a few well placed kicks herself but Lucre seemed more the swing until he hit something by his methods of madness.
"Where's Drakken?" asked Shego as she landed on one of the mutated Adrena had been fending off.
"He and Motor Ed were trying to get Cleopatra out of the doorway," yelped Lucre as he let go of his chair.
"Ay! Watch it!" yelled Duff as the chair flew over him, "Fight them not us."
"Okay I'm officially calling it quits on these outings," shuddered Adrena, "As much as I love the excitement, this has gotten way too freaky for me!"
"I'm with you," snarled Shego, "But we have to get out of here before we can avoid coming back."
Shego scanned the doorways where the heavy doors were blocking anyone from escape. She caught sight of where Gina was attempting to avoid being seen as she reached for a small box in the far corner. The manual release for the door Shego was sure. She scanned the other two exits and saw the closest one looked off-kilter and a few blasts might accelerate their exit.
Glancing to where a few of the mutated patrons fought each other, she sprinted through the fighting towards the door. It appeared less busy as a majority had moved to attack the bar area, giving her an opening.
"Shego!"
Drakken yelled again, but the direction was uncertain as she readied a blast.
Something metal swung over her head as she attempted to blast the door. It scarcely missed her as she was yanked by her waist at least four feet back. The sound of yells and erupting chaos had made her unable to hear Drakken warning her of the rabid attacker... but as the vines of Flower vanished from her waist... he'd chosen to not hope she'd heard him. There was no time to process if she should be thankful or annoyed by his doubt in her reflexes, because the magnitude of the problem at hand trumped it.
The metal safety doors of the Inn were sealed blocking exiting the bar area, and the release lever that Gina had attempted to reach was now ripped completely off the wall. Shego took a step back and bumped into Duff and she took that moment to realize that herself, Drakken, their table, and a handful of various staff and villains were surrounded by those infected by the tainted candies with no exit in sight.
This was not the excitement I had hoped for.
Well this evening has gotten out of hand... speaking of hands... click on!
