Luna, I want you to promise me that you and Artemis will take care of Serenity for me. That is my final wish.

Luna POV

"Usagi! Stop running around!" I yelled as I tried to grab my 5-year-old.

"Mama! Catch me!" Usagi laughed as she ran all around the park.

Ah, this girl. She's going to age me before she gets to her teen years. But I could not help smiling at her childlike personality. She was never able to enjoy her life like this in the past. It is the main reason I did not want to be too harsh on her. I wonder sometimes why Queen Serenity made me her daughter's mother in this life. Not that I am not grateful, it is just not what I had imagined. In the past, I never really had a thought of having a child. Queen Serenity's daughter was enough for me. I had a hand in raising her into a proper princess.

"Usa! Watch out!"

"MAMA!" Usagi cried.

I rushed over to her and picked her up. She just ran into another child. He was crying as well but I noticed that no adult around came to his aid. Was he alone? I bent down and helped him up. Usagi stopped crying once she felt us moving. She looked at the boy in front of her. Why did he look familiar?

"You're alright. Just a small bump." I said gently.

He sniffed as he rubbed his eyes. "It really hurt."

"I'm sorry. It's my fault. Mama told me not to run too much." Usagi apologized.

She amazes me as she gets older. You would think you were talking to an adult sometimes. The boy looked at the both of us. My eyes widened. It can't be.

"It's ok."

Usagi managed to get out of my arms. "My name is Tsukino Usagi. What is your name?"

"Chiba Mamoru."

I never thought I would see the younger version of the prince. I watched as the two children went to go play. It seems like no matter where they are, they will always be destined to meet. I smiled. I am glad that at least they won't ever have to deal with all that evil from the past. I sat down on a bench to make sure that they were being careful. I guess some things don't ever change.

"Minako, why don't you go play with the other kids?" A man asked his child.

"Papa, no other kids like me. They all say I'm weird."

I looked over and gasped. Artemis? And is that...

"Minako, you are not weird. People are just terrible to judge. Look. There are two other kids over there playing. Go over and introduce yourself."

"But Papa-"

"No buts. Go."

The little girl named Minako slowly walked over to where Usagi and Mamoru were. She seemed very scared to approach them. But the minute Usagi met her eyes, there seemed to be some understanding between the both. Minako hurriedly went over to them. Once she joined them, it seemed like they had been friends since the beginning of time. I was startled when I felt someone sit next to me. It was Artemis. I cleared my throat before looking over to the children. I wanted to say something to him but what could I say? Do you remember me? Do you remember the past? How did the senshi of Venus become your child? Who was the mother? Are you seeing anyone?

My cheeks turn red as the last thought went through my mind. Why would I care if he was seeing anyone? It was none of my business! Especially at this time. I shook my head. No. I cannot get carried away by thinking these thoughts. I had to pay attention to Usagi.

"Luna."

I looked at him. "Yes?"

Artemis looked startled. "I'm sorry. I don't know where that came from."

So, he didn't remember...

"That's alright."

It was quiet for a minute. "So, your name is Luna?"

"As it says on my birth certificate."

He laughed. "Sorry. This is a bit weird. My name is Artemis."

"Like the moon goddess?"

"Unfortunately, yes." He rubbed the back of his neck. "My parents were obsessed with Greek mythology."

"Sounds like my parents but they were obsessed with the moon. Hence the name."

"Well, nice to meet you. Are you here with your children?"

"I only have a daughter. Who is currently playing with your daughter."

"Ah I see. Where are the boy's parents?"

I looked over to Mamoru. "I'm not sure. Just recently, we met him when Usagi bumped into him."

Artemis looked at him as well. "Should we ask?"

"Chiba Mamoru! Who allowed you outside?" A woman yelled.

We turned to look at a woman storming over to the children. Immediately, I was on my feet and heading over as well. I did not like the look on this woman's face. Artemis was right behind me. He must be feeling exactly what I felt. This woman was trouble.

Mamoru looked down to his feet. "Miss, I'm sorry. I just wanted to play outside."

She forcefully grabbed his arm. "I don't care what you want. You know the rules and what happens if you break them. Now let's go!"

Before either of us could do anything, the woman began to drag him away. I should have known that Usagi was going to react to Mamoru being taken away. She ran over to him and grabbed his hand. She tried to reason with the mean lady to let him stay a bit longer. I watched in horror as this woman not only yelled at Usagi but also hit her. I grabbed Usagi as she cried. Her little cheek was a painful red. I could not believe a grown woman would be capable of hitting a small child.

"No! Let me go!" Mamoru yelled.

The lady went to raise her hand to hit him, but Artemis stopped her. Minako got scared by the commotion and started to cry. I pulled her into my embrace to calm her down.

"Let go of me!"

"No. I'll only let you go once the police come."

"The police?! For what?"

Artemis chuckled humorlessly. "You just hit a small child and was about to hit another one!"

"So? You'd think anyone would care if an orphan gets hit?"

Orphan? I looked over to Mamoru. He lost his parents? Judging by the look on his face, it was true. Oh, the unfortunate thing. How cruel can the world be to take his parents away from him? And to leave him with a terrible woman. No. He cannot stay at the orphanage. I will not allow it. I'm sure that he has suffered enough.
