Artemis…Artemis...Artemis
Artemis POV
"PAPA!"
I shook my head. I looked at the rear-view mirror. Minako was glaring at me. Oh boy. Here we go.
"Yes, Minako."
"I have been calling you for...for...50 years!"
"Minako, do you even know how long 50 years is?"
"Sure, I do!" Minako tilted her head. "How old are you?"
The audacity of this child. Before I could respond, Minako started cheering as soon as she saw three familiar people standing on the sidewalk. I couldn't help but stare at Luna. She looked exceptionally beautiful in her yellow dress. It fits her body very nicely. My face started to heat up. I shouldn't even be thinking of her like that. We have only known each other for less than a day. Besides, Minako's mother probably wouldn't like it either.
Once I parked the car, Minako immediately ran out. "MINAKO!"
"Usagi! Mamoru!" Minako shouted.
"Minako!" They shouted back.
Ok. I guess today is ignore father day. I got out of the car and got out the food that I prepared for everyone. I didn't want to come empty handed. Luna smiled at me as soon as I reached her. My heart began to race. She was so beautiful. How can a woman managed to radiate so much beauty... Artemis, back up. This has to stop. I cannot be thinking of another woman like this. I. HAVE. A...well, not a wife. Or even a girlfriend. Booty call?
"Come inside. We can go eat some lunch before you kids go play. Does that sound good?"
"Yeah!"
"Artemis, are you coming?"
I gulped. "Yes."
"Come along then."
The minute that Luna started walking towards her front door with the kids, my vision suddenly changed. Suddenly, I wasn't outside but inside a palace instead. Luna now had long black hair, wearing a yellow and black dress. The kids were not kids anymore. They were now more grown up. But they were also dressed as formally as Luna was. We were walking into another room where there was another woman. But this woman seemed like she was not like us. No. There was something more...royal about her. I could not see her face properly, something in me told me that I knew her.
What was going on? Why was I envisioning this? As soon as that vision appeared, it disappeared as fast. I was back in front of Luna's home.
"Artemis?" Luna called out.
She looked at me and I could have sworn I saw a crescent moon on her forehead. I heard her call out to me again, but everything had gone dark.
Artemis...Artemis...Artemis
I turned around to find a woman with grey hair and a white dress. Who was she?
A small smile appeared on her face. "I'm guessing you don't remember me."
"I'm sorry but I have never seen you before."
"We've met but not in this life."
"This life..?"
"Artemis, you may not remember now but you eventually will. I want you to let Luna know that I have made a grave mistake. That I had not realized when I called upon the crystal."
"The crystal? I'm very confused right now. What does Luna and I have to do with this?"
"I am sorry, but I have to go."
"Wait!"
My eyes opened. I felt a small body hit me. "Papa! You're awake!"
I hugged Minako to calm her down. "Of course, I'm awake. Why wouldn't you be?"
"Artemis, you fainted." Luna said as she handed me a cup of water.
"I did?"
"Yes. You had us worried."
"I apologize. I'm not even sure what happened. I just..."
Luna seemed to realize that this conversation might not be for the kids. She ushered them to go play while we talked. After reassuring Minako that I was fine, they all left. Except for Usagi. She stared at me for a minute before nodding. She proceeded to follow the others. What was that?
"Artemis?"
I looked at Luna as I sat up. "Sorry. I'm not even sure myself."
"Did you perhaps have a vision?"
"How...?"
She sat next to me on the couch. "Because I had something similar happen to me a while ago."
"Did you see a royal looking woman? Did she apologize?"
"I see. She's communicating with you as well."
"Who is she?"
Luna sighed. "I don't even know. But...did she say anything to you?"
"From what I remember, she said to tell you that she made a grave mistake and something about calling upon a crystal."
"Oh. I'm not even sure what that means."
I rubbed the back of my head. "Strange how we possibly knew each other in a different life."
"Hmm. Yes. Strange."
Something tells me that Luna knows more than she is letting on. I could see it written on her face. Maybe I should visit my parents this weekend. Something about this royal woman is reminding me of something. But I have to make sure first.
