Kurai was not doing well.
Probably due to the fact he was not able to do a thing against the pair of Buus that he was fighting. He had dealt with multiple small Majin Buus from his patrols, but he had Super Saiyan 3 Goku or multiple patrollers to help him out. Also, when Buu created his small doppelgängers, none of them were as strong as the regular-sized Buu. While he did appreciate Hollo lending his aid, it was clear the majin was not quite on par with the Buus he was facing when it came to power. They coordinated as best as they could manage, but it was clear that all of the Buu variants were playing around, not taking it seriously. Buuhan wasn't even participating as he simply enjoyed the spectacle and reigning in Kid Buu before the psychotic majin could try to destroy everything. His mystic form was just enough to keep him in the game against Buutenks and Majin Buu, but that wasn't to say that this was a stalemate where no one was getting ahead.
It didn't help that Kurai didn't have the near inexhaustible stamina like the majins did even if he had more than them when this fight began. If he could cast energy zone he wouldn't mind, but they didn't exactly desire to give a time out for a few seconds to heal up.
Hollo was stuck between Evil Buu and Super Buu, both of which were toying with the teal-colored majin. He was doing his best but even with his regeneration on par with the two he was fighting, it didn't mean he could outlast them. Maybe with them going one-on-one he would win, but that would mean he would weakened for the next buu. Majins due to their body's physiology were hard to beat with physical trauma — he could attest to that when some time patrollers fell under the control of corrupted time energy and he had to fight them — but it didn't mean that impossible to do so. Even in the original timeline Majin Buu was soundly thrashed by Kid Buu despite his regeneration because Kid Buu was so much stronger than him. He still didn't quit, though Kurai could tell he was weakening at an steady rate as he was exhausting himself by trying to keep up with both Buu despite the gap in their power.
The fact that none of the Buus had tried to kill them seriously was ironically the only reason they were still alive.
It was then the cavalry arrived.
Trunks slammed into the Fat Buu, forcing the Majin off of Kurai as Vegeta — transforming into a Super Saiyan 3 no less — slammed a kick into Buutenks side that sent the Majin flying while snarling in surprised pain and fury. Goku and Gohan paired off against the two majins attacking Hollo and before Kurai could inform anyone of Hollo's allegiance, Piccolo used a Kaio-ken infused punch to knock Hollo into The Earth before launching himself at Buucolo who laughed at the Namekian. The Supreme Kai and Kibito drifted in the air, far enough away that if they needed to leave with a quick instant transmission, they could.
Xtrunks floated next to Kurai and powered up as his body as he assumed his Super Saiyan 2 form.
"How?" Xtrunks demanded in a flat tone.
"Fuhai." Kurai replied tiredly.
Buuhan smiled at the two remaining opponents and let go of Kid Buu, "Well well well… looks like we have the perfect number of fighters for a little life-or-death match. That's good."
Kid Buu beat at his chest and leered at the two remaining fighters, eager to tear them apart limb by limb.
Kurai grimaced at the battles raging around him, this wasn't an ideal situation even though he wasn't fighting alone anymore. He had hoped he could just take on whatever enhanced version of Buu came out from the egg, but now it was almost like the mainline Cell Games all over again. Trunks was just able to keep up well against the innocent Buu thanks to his split from the Evil side of him leaving him less than half as strong as before. Goku was stronger than his counterpart and was able to keep pace with Super Buu no problem as they battled. Gohan was focused and effective as the fought the grey-skinned Buu to a standstill, but was only at the second level of Super Saiyan. Piccolo was fighting admirably against the Buu that had absorbed his counterpart, but it was clear that that Buucolo was able to keep pace and could go higher if he didn't want to drag it out. Buutenks and Vegeta were also crashing against each other fiercely, but the Prince was on the back foot having not expected Buutenks to be so strong.
The Earth was already shaking under the strain and wouldn't last under so many powerful fighters all battling on it.
They needed to move this fight somewhere else, he could tell by the grimace on everyone's faces that they shared the same thought.
Fortunately, it was that moment the sky darkened.
"Don't worry." Xtrunks said, "The Supreme Kai gave us permission."
They were all outlined in a golden glow before vanishing off The Earth.
Kurai blinked as realized that he was on the planet of the Supreme Kais as his allies all stood next to him; the assortment of Buus had also been moved there to stand facing them. Kurai frowned at the fact that by the by, there were not enough warriors that would match the various Buus that they were about to fight. Kurai didn't doubt the strength of their fighters but that didn't mean he was nervous about the oncoming fight. Trunks hadn't been taken with them — which was good — because even though he had improved immensely over his time with Gohan and Vegeta training him he wasn't quite ready for this sort of fight. Piccolo was stronger — especially after learning the Kaio-ken and refining the technique in his free time — but that might only get him to match the either half of Majin Buu after he separated into two halves. Xtrunks — even though he still hadn't managed Super Saiyan 3 yet — could likely obliterate any one of the Buus without too much trouble thanks to his Super Saiyan Rage form but both him and Kurai agreed to keep those higher forms under wraps. Goku and Vegeta had for outpaced their counterparts relative to this point in time so Kurai didn't doubt they could at least hold the line against their opponents if not beat them on their own. Gohan was a bit of an unknown as he hadn't had his potential unlocked by the Elder Kai and was still only able to fight at Super Saiyan 2 without issue as Super Saiyan 3 was too energy and stamina intensive for him to sustain in combat. He was stronger than his original but would it be enough to win was something Kurai didn't know.
This whole scenario was not possible but Fuhai had just thrown everything into chaos.
So his group was just him, Piccolo, Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, and Xeno Trunks.
And that left Buuhan, Buutenks, Buucolo, Super Buu, Good Buu, Evil Buu and Kid Buu.
There was a brief moment of silence as everyone picked their opponents.
Piccolo — aura already flaring red from a surge of Kaio-ken — slammed into the grey-skinned Evil Buu, knocking him into the distance with the Namekian in hot pursuit. Buuhan made towards Gohan before Goku kicked him in the face, determination and excitement warring in his gaze as continued to attack the most powerful of the Majins. Vegeta fired a barrage of ki blasts at Buutenks, the majin flying away while weaving around the blasts as Vegeta followed behind. Super Buu tackled Gohan, who grimaced as he allowed himself to be drawn away by the Majin. Buucolo leaned away from a slash as Xtrunks sliced at him with his sword before jumping up and away from a ki blast as the demi-saiyan followed him with a focused grimace.
Kurai managed to bite back an annoyed sigh as Kid Buu and the 'Good' Buu focused on him with smiles.
"Oh joy."
Fuhai settled to watch the several battles that were going to occur between the saiyans and majins from all across the timelines, a grin on his face.
This was why he did this, to see them struggle.
To see how they overcame their challenges or fell to them.
Goku was grinning savagely as he and this version of Buu traded blows over the planet they were on, mountains crumbling and shockwaves echoing as they crashed against each other.
This was what he was talking about!
He heard the heights he had to reach from Kurai and couldn't wait to pour himself into his training! People who could flatten his Super Saiyan 3 were few and far between to his knowledge but if they were out there then he couldn't help but hope he could fight them. He wasn't ignorant to the fact that those entities out there may not be peaceful — this very Buu being a prime example — but this is what he fought for.
To push past his limits.
To be as strong as possible.
He weaved away from a barrage of ki blasts before rushing back in to attack Buuhan with a flurry of punches. He would avenge the Gohan, Trunks, Goten, and Piccolo of the timeline that this Buu had come from, he would defeat Buu and get strong enough to flatten him without trying when he was done. He had so much more power to gain once he beat this opponent, he couldn't wait to see what heights he would reach once he got done.
He was going to keep on growing.
Vegeta kicked a ki blast off and flew back as he fired a salvo of ki blasts at the Buutenks that had spat out a bunch of pale blue buus right at him. Vegeta was no fool and blasted them before the first few could close in on him, which proved to be a good idea as they exploded into a massive explosion that definitely would've hurt. The only issue was now keeping the fight mobile in order to make sure the ghosts wouldn't get close enough to hit him. He scowled as Buutenks flashed in front of a ghost about to be hit and backhanded the ki blast to the side.
"Troublesome bastard!" Vegeta grunted as Buutenks rushed him without pause.
"What's wrong Vegeta?" Buutenks taunted, "Is it possible that you can't keep up with me?"
A fist drilled into Buutenks' face as the prince sent him flying away, "Don't underestimate me you pink imbecile!"
Gohan flipped over Super Buu as the majin charged him, firing a ki blast straight through the majin's stomach. Super Buu had been expecting the attack and countered, his arm stretching and smashing into Gohan's side. The half-saiyan grunted in pain as he was sent skidding away in the air, arm curled around the new bruise he could tell was forming on his side. He frowned as Super Buu smirked and flexed, the hole in his stomach reforming in seconds as he tilted his head and lifted an arm. He fired a barrage of ki blasts into the sky as an almost random action that held no meaning, until Gohan looked up and saw the blast slowly stop ascending and begin rocketing towards the startled half-saiyan. He quickly flew around, zig-zagging around the falling ki blasts only to be intercepted by Super Buu and kicked into one of the ki blast in a thunderous explosion.
Gohan gritted his teeth and braced himself as the ki blasts slammed into him, exploding on contact.
He hoped his allies were having an easier time with their opponents.
Piccolo caught the ki blast from the Evil Majin and punched it right back at his opponent who fired another blast so it detonated midway between them. Piccolo darted behind him and swung a kick that Evil Buu ducked under while twisting to launch his own kick that Piccolo twisted over to avoid. They both drifted away for a split second before crashing together in a flurry of punches, kicks, and ki blasts as they both refused to give an inch.
Piccolo scowled at the Majin as they traded blows, wondering whether or not this was enough for him. He had always strove to protect his planet, ever since Gohan and him had trained for Vegeta and Nappa all those years ago. He had then trained with Gohan as much as possible, coaxing Super Saiyan out of his student before falling to the androids. The Namekian had failed and been given a second chance to fight for what he had discovered and what he had forged. He couldn't let himself fall to anyone ever again, no matter who or what came to attack him and his allies.
So he would win this fight and continue to make sure his allies didn't slack off.
He had to.
Xtrunks sliced off Buucolo's antenna and immediately erased it with a Ki blast, he had no intention of letting himself be absorbed by an errant piece of Buu laying around. Buucolo rushed him and he was immediately clashing with him, He was just so tired of having to deal with all the evil entities that came to wreck the planet he cared for. He knew disobeying the Supreme Kai of Time to save Gohan had been stupid and selfish and just plain wrong, but he couldn't not help. He couldn't watch his mentor die again, that would be a more devastating to him than any wound could be.
And he had enjoyed the peace and having a full family, his mom, his father, and even a younger brother, something he didn't know was possible. He had killed for this life, nearly died for this life, and was finally able to enjoy that life when now it was all under threat again for someone's amusement?
No.
This would not stand.
Xtrunks was absolutely furious.
His power began to rise as the lighting of his Super Saiyan 2 began to flicker more erratically and coalesce around him as his hair began to spike more heavily.
He slipped into his rage form and Buucolo was sent flying from the eruption of ki from Xtrunks's transformation. Xtrunks blitzed Buucolo, pummeling the majin from every direction as he speed left afterimages and flares of ki in his wake.
Time to end the nightmare for now.
Kurai couldn't afford to let this keep going on as it has.
His training — with or without anyone in there to help — in The Hyperbolic Time Chamber had definitely benefited all the Z-fighters more so than he had anticipated. They had all had surpassed the incarnations he had trained with in The Time Nest, it was just that now there were things he simply couldn't account for anything anymore which was dangerous. He had hoped that his knowledge of the future would be enough to help his new/old family, but instead he had been caught off guard because what was happening differed from what he expected. Which led to his current predicament of fighting two separate incarnations of Majin Buu at the same time.
He could take on Kid Buu, he had done so in the past even with corrupted aura bolstering the homicidal majin and came out on top several times. He definitely could take on Evil and Good Buu tag-teaming him. He could probably take them on even if it was immediately one after another so long as they came one at a time.
Both of them?
At once?
Limiting to his mystic form?
That was tricky.
The problem was him being unable to focus on any one Buu that attacked him as that would leave him open to the other. The Candy Beam was the most dangerous ability he had to keep an eye out for. If he got hit by that it would definitely be a game over as he couldn't fight as a piece of candy like Vegito could and only run away until the power of the ability expired and he reverted to normal. Halving his abilities if he used his multi-form technique would've only made it harder on him rather than helping. If any of the Buus managed to eat him then that would be an unmitigated catastrophe beyond anything he could hope to solve. Kid Buu would've been nigh unstoppable if it managed to somehow access his god ki. He was already feeling the number of bumps and bruises from when he hadn't been able to fully avoid or redirect an attack.
Then again it was also made easier as they had little to no synergy to their attacks, they frequently got in each other's way and allowed Kurai to even cast energy zone once or twice in the moments while they scowled at each other.
He prepare as Majin Buu rushed him only for Kid Buu to literally shove the fatter majin out of the way — and into the ground — and cackle in glee to take his place. Kurai glanced at Majin Buu, who was scowling at Kid Buu as steam erupted from his body in anger at his deranged iteration. Kurai weaved away from the flurry of punched before firing a ki blast that Kid Buu caught but was sent flying back before it exploded. He quickly fired a barrage of ki at the disoriented majin before launching another ki blast that once again sent him flying away while the small majin struggled to hold it.
"Hey Buu." Kurai called.
"Hm?" Majin Buu replied, tilting his head, "You want something?"
"You don't like that little Buu right?" Kurai inquired, gesturing at Kid Buu.
Majin Buu frowned heavily, "He mean."
"You know, I don't like him much either." Kurai said, nodding, "So I have a small game and bet I think you'll like if you want to hear it."
Buu hummed but nodded, "Okay."
Kurai grinned, "If you can beat the little Buu, I'll be your friend and play with you when you get bored."
Majin Buu smiled excitedly at that and blitzed towards Kid Buu before smashing into the surprised majin.
Kurai sighed as that would hopefully wear Kid Buu down a little and Kid Buu might even kill Good Buu.
It left a bad taste in his mouth, but it was the better alternative than letting him live. Kurai had let go off his memories of the Time Nest as a baseline for the people he once knew, those memories would just make him him hesitate.
Kurai set up his energy zone and sighed in relief as his wounds healed up before he looked up to see Majin Buu being thrashed by Kid Buu, who was already laughing at the 'feeble' attempts of Majin Buu to destroy him. Majin Buu wasn't the Buu that was made of the good and bad, this was one that could be reasoned with, the one that made friends with Hercule in the main timeline and lived to be a member of the Z-fighters later. The problem was he wasn't back to his former strength as his separation had drained him by more than half of his power. Maybe if he could absorb his evil half unlike the original with 'Good' Buu being the main personality, they could gain a powerful ally for the future. But that would half to wait until Kid Buu was taken down and they could reunite the two so that Good Buu could get a chance.
Kurai's eyes darted in the direction Piccolo was fighting.
He needed to send a message.
