By the time Alfred had stopped for the night yesterday, they had made it about 3/4ths of the way through Canada, meaning they were close to Alaska but still a ways away from Denali.

It took a whole other day to cover that distance, a long and boring day of driving around the Rockies with almost no towns in sight. Not even rock music could sate the boredom.

After what felt like an eternity, they could see the massive mountain coming up in the distance, bringing them great relief that the ride was finally coming to an end.

Going around the nearby woods of looming pine trees, they arrived at a quaint cabin where the tree line met the grassy plains. It wasn't all that impressive, but the view of the mountains across from it definitely was.

Alfred parked the RV and stood up, stretching his arms and twisting around to crack his back. "Ugh that sucked," Alfred groaned while cracking a few more joints.

The other two sighed in agreement and got up as well. The three all walked out of the RV and off to the cabin, opening the old wooden door with a loud creek.

Inside was dark and empty, and everything had a thick layer of dust coating it, to the point where they could smell it in the air.

"It smells like old in here," Molossia commented, to which Alfred sighed. "Yeah, it's been a few years."

Molossia walked over to the nearest couch and jumped onto it, only to begin sneezing and hacking as a large plume of dust completely surrounded him. "Mistakes have been made!"

Natalya rolled her eyes and walked off to find a broom, while Alfred went to the kitchen to find something to eat, having just gone through the last of the food they had in the RV.

He looked around in the fridge and cupboards, for some reason. Guess he forgot he chucked all non-preservatives out last time he was here.

Eventually he found a cupboard with a ton of canned foods. It wasn't a hamburger but it would do.

Walking back into the living room, now with some dinner, he was greeted with Natalya chucking the broom at him. He caught it and set it down as Natalya turned and went into the bedroom.

Based on the condition of the living room, she must've only cleaned the bedroom, meaning she also had already claimed it.

He missed his bed so much, with his soft blanket and squishy mattress. He hated sleeping on the couch, but of course England just had to give him countless lessons on being a gentlemen.

"What's in the bowl?" Molossia asked, snapping Alfred out of his reminiscing. "SpaghettiOs," he answered while holding up the bowl. "Want some?"

"Of course," Molossia said as he stood up, brushing off a bunch of dust as he walked to the kitchen.

Alfred walked a little further and knocked on the bedroom door. "Yo Nat, I figured you probably don't like spaghettiOs, so do you want me to make you something else?"

"Sure," was her only response. Alfred nodded sadly, she had been extra moody since the previous night, and Alfred was convinced that it was because she didn't think they were truly friends with her.

It's been like this multiple times, where he would make some progress only for her to go into a funk and doubt all of it. Either she was still in denial about being friends with him, or she was so used to being alone that having a friend was unreal to her. Neither left a good feeling in Alfred's heart.

At least he was successful so far, with last night possibly being his biggest breakthrough yet, but if there was even one failure then his new friendship was as good as over.

He just had to be patient, not something him or many Americans were proficient in, but he had to do it.

After whipping up something from some canned vegetables for Natalya, he spent the next few hours cleaning up the rest of the cabin.

By the time Natalya came out again, it was nearly 11:00 p.m. but still perfectly bright out. "Why isn't the sun setting?" Natalya wondered to herself.

"Because it doesn't," Alfred responded from the couch. He was already curled up for bed and watching the news on TV. "You're Russia's sister, don't you see that all the time?"

Natalya stared out at the sun, which was riding perfectly along the top of the horizon. "Nyet."

Alfred propped his head up on one of his hands. "Oh, well it's pretty cool. Y'know, if you want constant sunlight for eighty something days. Or complete darkness for a couple months."

She just hummed while continuing to look outside. Suddenly she realized there was no sight of that annoying micronation. "Where's Molossia?"

Alfred raised himself up a little more to look at her. "He took the bed in the RV, he had already gotten sick of having to share a couch."

Natalya turned back to look at him, eyeing the furniture. "But there are two couches."

Alfred smiled at her and tilted his head. "Would you sleep on a couch if you had the option of a bed?"

She looked back down at where Alfred was laying, observing the dusty old couch under him, it made her feel a little guilty.

"So you want to take the bed?" She assumed, jarring Alfred a little bit. "I didn't say that, I'm fine on the couch. Honestly," he assured.

Natalya didn't believe that for a second, and Alfred was aware of that. He sat up and moved to one side of the couch, tapping next to him to signal her to sit down.

After a few hesitant seconds she walked forward and sat down, making Alfred smile. "See, it's totally comfortable."

'No it isn't,' she thought internally. She could feel the sharp springs under her, and it was far too firm.

"Since you're here do you want to watch a movie?" He asked. She considered declining, but Molossia's words suddenly echoed in her head. 'Try to actually act like his friend, before you break his heart and get thrown out again.'

She was still very new to this friendship thing, but she was certain it would be bad to lose it. "Sure," she eventually responded.

He gasped in excitement and grabbed the remote to switch off the news. "We're gonna watch so many horror movies. This is gonna be awesome!"

Natalya cringed as she remembered the first time she was with Alfred, and all the obnoxious screaming he would do over the least scary parts. He kept her up all night by watching The Silence of the Lambs, that one isn't even scary.

"Have you seen IT?" He asked her. She shook her head no, so Alfred decided for that to be their first pick.

The second Pennywise made his first appearance, Alfred hugged a pillow tightly to his chest, and as Pennywise tried luring Georgie into the sewer drain Alfred wrapped his legs around the pillow as well.

And finally when Pennywise lunged forward and bit the arm off, Alfred buried his face in the pillow. It was too scary.

Natalya was of course unfazed. Though at least this movie had good special effects, unlike many she's seen.

Later, when Eddie went to the well house, he came face to face with one of Pennywise's disgusting transformations. Alfred was biting the pillow and muffling his screams of fear, rocking himself back and forth to calm down.

Natalya rolled her eyes and leaned on her hand. 'What a pussy.'

Her annoyance only got worse as they came to the climax of the film, where the Loser Club had entered the house and were all forced to face their fears.

Every time Pennywise would show up Alfred would scream, right next to Natalya's ear. Eventually it became too overwhelming and she turned to tell him to shut up, only to be interrupted as he dived forward and wrapped his arms around her waist.

He hid his face between her stomach and the back of the couch, thrashing around and screaming in terror.

She stared down at him, absolutely appalled at his actions. As her initial surprised faded, her hand balled into a fist then began beating on the top of his head.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?! Don't latch onto me you fucking ape!" She yelled while continuing to punch his head.

He shook his head and hugged her tighter. "No way dudette, it's way too scary!"

"What are you talking about?! It's just a clown dancing!" She exclaimed while pointing her arms at the TV.

Alfred slowed down and built up the courage to turn around, but the second he did he witnessed Pennywise's mouth grow all deformed as he possessed Beverly with the deadlights.

He screeched and pushed harder into Natalya for protection. No matter what she did to him he refused to let go, it's like being afraid gave him some strange super strength that made him invulnerable to her hitting.

She continued trying to pry him off for the whole remainder of the movie, until he instantly stopped gripping her and sat up again the second the credits began rolling.

"Man, that was still just as scary as the seventh watch," he admitted with a laugh. "You wanna watch IT Chapter 2 now? I've only seen that one twice."

"Nyet!" She screamed. Alfred raised an eyebrow.

"Nyet. Can we watch something else? Like... literally anything other than horror movies," she requested. "I don't want to be kept up all night and be tired for the hike tomorrow."

"It's fine, we aren't going tomorrow," he told her nonchalantly while distracted with finding a second movie.

"Huh? What are you talking about?" She questioned, growing annoyed that they would be staying in this old cabin for a whole other day.

"I have to go to the airport tomorrow."

"Is zhat zhe plane?" Prussia asked while pointing out of the window of their own plane to a private jet going down the runway.

"Ja, it's zhe Nordics'," Hungary confirmed. They watched as the plane lifted off the ground and flew off into the sky.

A few minutes later, their own plane took off in the same direction of the jet, a long journey from Denmark to Alaska.

By the time they reached the airport, it was very early the next day, though with how the sun was it didn't look like it.

The two nations exited the plane and went through the whole process of getting out of the airport, meeting up with Denmark, Finland, and Sealand. Prussia's guess was that Finland didn't trust Denmark to take Sealand on a plane alone.

Denmark was the first to notice the two coming up to them. "Sup guys," he called out loudly, gaining the attention of Finland and Sealand.

"Prussia? Hungary? What are you two doing here?" Finland asked. "Prussia is here to prank America," Denmark explained.

Finland tapped a finger on his chin. "Oh, I guess that makes sense... but wait, why are you here Hungary? You usually never go along with anything Prussia does."

Hungary rubbed her upper arm in false embarrassment. "I lost a bet."

"Yup, she's pretty stupid isn't she?" Prussia laughed, earning him a hard slap on the back of his head.

That made Sealand laugh, but Finland disapproved. "Peter, you really shouldn't laugh when others get hurt."

"I know, but come on he deserved that one," Sealand pointed out.

Finland looked to Denmark for help explaining why violence is bad, but he just shrugged. Finland rolled his eyes and crouched down in front of Sealand.

"Look, even if someone deserves something it doesn't mean you should be laughing at their misfortune," Finland explained.

"Unless it's that jerk England!" Sealand butted in.

"Unless it's England... wait no!" Finland corrected himself.

Prussia and Denmark both laughed in an obnoxious way, making Hungary and Finland sigh.

"Anyway, are you guys going to wait here with us for America?" Finland eventually asked.

Prussia slowly stopped his laughing to answer the question. "Nope, I'm just going to give Sealand zhe first half of zhe prank now."

Prussia walked over to Sealand and knelt down, pulling out a box and handing it to him. He then put an arm on the kid's shoulder and whispered something in his ear.

Sealand nodded in understanding as Prussia got back to his feet. "Alright Hungary, let's go set up zhe rest of zhe prank."

Hungary waved goodbye to the Nordics. "Guess ve'll see you guys later."

"I'll send you a video of America's reaction, okay?" Sealand called out.

Prussia gave them a thumbs up before the two were off. Luckily it was only seconds before a large RV pulled up in front of the airport.

Alfred jumped out and stood in a hero pose in front of the Nordics. "Sup nordic dudes! How are you guys?"

"I'm doing good, last night I took an extra long time in the sauna, and then I told Mr. Sweden a joke that made him have that tiny smile which kind of freaks me out. But then I..."

Alfred continued smiling and nodding along to the story, but inside he was thinking, 'why does no one understand it's just a greeting?'

After a few minutes, Finland had finally stopped talking, with Denmark's assistance by loudly interrupting when it got too long.

"Cool, anyway you ready to go little dude?" Alfred asked while looking down at Sealand. He happily smiled back up and nodded.

"Ok I guess we'll get going now," Alfred announced. The Nordics understood. "See you at the next world meeting bro!" Denmark suddenly shouted, making Finland cover his ears.

"I'll see you in a few weeks Peter. Be good and don't get into too much trouble," Finland requested as he hugged him goodbye.

"I won't," Sealand promised before breaking the hug to walk over to Alfred. "Oh, and America," Finland called out.

Alfred turned around and looked at Finland, flinching at the same serious look Finland gave him back at the meeting in Hungary.

"I better not hear Peter learning any swear words, got it?" He demanded seriously.

Alfred and Sealand both jumped a little before the American gave him a thumbs up. "Don't worry dude, you've got nothing to worry about."

Finland nodded and smiled again as him and Denmark waved and turned to leave. Alfred and Sealand turned as well and walked to the RV.

Sealand marveled at the inside, it was a lot nicer than he expected it to be, and very expensive.

Alfred smiled and watched the kid as he ran around and explored the whole vehicle. He eventually stopped in front of Alfred with a big grin on his face. "This RV is so cool!"

"That's what I said dude!" Alfred agreed. "I might have to buy one instead of just renting it out."

The two then went to the front as Alfred started to drive away. "So Peter, I have to go pick up some groceries before we head off to the house, wanna go empty the candy and snack aisles with me?"

"Yes!" Peter beamed while bouncing in his seat. Alfred chuckled and ruffled his hair. "I like you little dude."

Prussia and Hungary watched from behind a car as the RV pulled out of the parking lot. "No vay zhe victim isn't in zhere," Prussia stated.

"Did you give zhem zhe tracker?" Hungary asked.

"Ja," Prussia replied. Just to prove it he pulled up his phone and showed her a map with a blinking red dot going down the road.

"Good, now ve just vait for Japan zhen solve zhis mystery," Hungary grinned in excitement.

Japan sat in his chair, silently observing his Axis friends as they set up the G8 meeting. He really wanted to be in Alaska with the other detectives, but knew he had a duty to do his job.

None of the Allies had shown up yet, which he didn't really care about since America wasn't going to be there.

One by one they all came in. First England, trailed closely behind by France, and a minute after them was America... wait nevermind it was Canada.

But then there was nothing, for a long time. It was unnerving.

"Where the bloody hell is Russia?! This is the second meeting in a row!" England exclaimed.

"Ve~ and America is-a also missing," Italy pointed out.

"Actually America called in a few days ago saying he vas on vacation," Germany explained. "Zhough I'm not sure vhere Russia is."

While everyone was trying to figure out what was happening, Japan was buzzing in thought. 'I have to ret the others know.'

So while Germany called Russia to find out why he was absent, Japan texted the detectives.

Hungary pulled up her phone as she got a notification, with Prussia looking over her shoulder to see.

Japan

Hungary put the phone away and continued walking down the sidewalk.

"Vant to go find a hotel? Ve can vait for Japan zhere," Prussia suggested. Hungary agreed and walked off to find a place to wait for their friend.

After Alfred and Peter had raided the nearest grocery store of all the good food, they made their way back to the cabin.

Even with the numerous shopping bags on each arm, Alfred was eventually able to open the door and get inside. He and Peter set everything in the kitchen and decided to leave it for now so Peter could go see the others.

He first ran up to Molossia, who was chilling out on the couch and watching TV. "Hello Molossia, I didn't know you would be here."

"Well I am, what's up with you?" Molossia asked.

"Not much, though Mr. America and I did a lot of shopping beforehand. He said you were complaining about not having anything good to eat."

Molossia perked up at the mention of food. "Well why didn't you say that first?" He wondered as he jumped off the couch and went to the kitchen.

Peter explored the cabin a little more, eventually finding a bathroom and one other room, a bedroom he assumed.

Just as he was about to reach out to grab the doorknob, Alfred suddenly came up behind him. "Have you had any food yet? I can make you lunch if you want."

Just then his stomach began rumbling, which he clutched uncomfortably. "I think that's a good idea."

He walked away from the bedroom and back to the kitchen, but Alfred didn't follow him. When looking back, he watched as Alfred knocked on the door, before opening it and whispering inside. It got him curious, who else was here?

After they had made some lunch, he followed Alfred as he walked to the bedroom with a plate of food. He knocked on the door and waited, until the door opened and a girl came out. He knew it was a nation, but which one? They were so familiar.

The girl paused and looked down at him, making him shiver uncontrollably. "I didn't know you picked him up already."

Alfred raised an eyebrow but understood as he turned around and found Peter right behind him.

"Oh, hey Peter. Yeah I kinda forgot to tell you about Natalya," he laughed awkwardly while rubbing his neck.

"Sealand, Belarus. Belarus, Sealand," he introduced them and stepped away. Peter started shaking and ran to hide behind Alfred's leg.

"Belarus? Like Russia's sister Belarus?" He asked while peering at Natalya. She had an annoyed but somewhat sad expression on her face, it made him feel a little bad, but he was just too scared to go over to her.

That was until Alfred set the plate of food down and walked forward to wrap an arm around Natalya's shoulders. Her frown deepened, but she left it there for the sake of the micronation.

"See? She's not scary. If you get to know her you'll see she's a big ol' softy..." he claimed while poking her cheek.

Suddenly she turned to the finger and bit down on it, making him yelp and jump away to protect the hand.

"...Until she starts biting," he snapped at her as he rubbed his throbbing finger. She glared back just as hard and put her hands on her hips. "If you are going to talk about me like a dog then I might as well act like one."

She turned away from him and picked up the plate of food to bring back to her room, but not before passing Peter a glance. "You look like a mix of Alfred and the big-browed bitch, hopefully you're not as annoying as them."

Alfred gasped in offense. "I'm not annoying. And don't swear in front of Peter, dammit!"

Natalya stared blankly at him. He stared back with a confused look. "What?"

She continued looking deadpanned, staying silent until he caught on. About twenty seconds passed in awkward silence until Alfred made a sudden O face.

"Shit," he cursed not so under his breath.

"Wait, fuck no!"

"Son of a -" he was interrupted as Natalya slapped a hand to his mouth. "Just stop talking moron."

A tick mark appeared above Alfred's eye as he continued cursing behind her hand. Despite how scary Natalya was, Peter couldn't help but laugh at the scene unfolding. Natalya's lips curved up in a tiny smile. It was nice to make a kid laugh.

Eventually Alfred quieted down and allowed Natalya to let go and finally leave to eat her food.

Alfred bit his cheek in embarrassment. "Sorry about that dude, I kinda looked like an idiot right there didn't I?"

"It's not that bad, at least. . . Natalya was it? At least she doesn't seem so scary anymore," Peter reassured.

Alfred smiled back warmly and laughed. "I know. For someone who seems so scary, she actually grows on you pretty quick."

"Really?" Peter was shocked. Alfred gave a strange, uneasy shrug. "Weeeell, no that was a lie. It's very hard actually, especially with my complicated history with her. But you're a kid, I'm sure she'll have a way easier time warming up to you."

"Oh, and if nothing else works try offering her some candy, or say something mean about China. She really doesn't like China."

As Alfred gave a few more tips on how to become Natalya's friend, she sat on the bed in the bedroom, staring blankly at her food while listening to the conversation. The room had thin walls, so she could hear everything being said.

She was stuck somewhere between mad and flattered, which was a strange feeling. It was best to just shake it off by distracting herself with something.

After days of avoiding it like the plague, she finally thought it was time to read the journal again.

February 17, 1938

This is the worst, is this how France felt? How can he go on like this?! How can anyone go on when they lose the love of their life?

March 7, 1938

I stopped going to the meetings. I just can't with those people. All they do is scream and shout and blame. I apologized years ago and promised I would fix it, can't they see I'm trying?

No, apparently they have to send me telegrams giving me crap for not being quick enough and how it's my fault there are growing tensions.

Absolute hypocrites, I wasn't the one that wanted to fuck over Germany, that was your fault for not accepting the Fourteen Points.

I need to stop reading these damn telegrams.

March 8, 1938

And if that wasn't bad enough, Japan, my long time friend, has gone off the deep end and is now raping entire cities. I am almost positive he didn't do that personally, he would never do that, but the fact that his country is doing it at all is a problem.

It's this whole fascist movement that's been spreading in Europe as well. I haven't noticed for... far more important reasons.

Italy, a former ally, has also fallen to fascism. Though on the bright side, I think he's too innocent to realize what his country has become. He's too busy praising the ground Germany walks on.

Germany. That man is. . . he's going down a dark path.

September 1, 1939

Another war in Europe. What did I tell them? I tried to warn them, Wilson predicted this. But did they listen? Of course not.

I'm just "the idiot that screwed over the world," the "morale booster that isn't important enough to be making these types of decisions."

I can admit that. All I was was the kick in the pants for the allies. They could've won without me if need be.

Then I guess I'm staying out of this one. They don't want me and I don't care, it doesn't involve me. Besides, I've got my own problems to deal with.

September 10, 1939

Of course. . . Mattie joined the war. He didn't need to, but wanted to. He believes France may be a target since they were last time. It makes sense, with Germany and Russia planning on tag-teaming Poland the only way to go is west.

Man, I forgot Mattie's name for a second. That was weird.

June 22, 1940

France, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands. Germany and the Axis took them all over. Most of them were neutral, but I'm not surprised, Germany did the same thing in the last war.

At least I have two oceans to protect me, I can't imagine being wedged between two fighting countries. It's like if Mexico and Ca-Mattie went to war.

Why do I keep forgetting Mattie? Maybe it's just been too long since I've seen him. I should pay him a visit.

Wait I forgot, he's in Europe.

June 14, 1940

Russia is trying to take over the Baltics again, so Lithuania was forced to leave to deal with that whole mess. I hope he's doing ok, he seemed so sad that he had to leave.

July 10, 1940

The Axis have taken over every one of the Allies, except Britain. It's the only place left, and all they can do is sit and wait out the bombings.

As much as he's been an ass to me over the past decade, I don't want to see him be taken over and maybe even killed. Germany is bombing his capital after all.

August 29, 1940

Britain keeps begging for my help. After years of shouting at me to get out of his life, now he has the audacity to plead for my support.

Well I have one thing to say to you Britain. . . . . .

I'm sorry.

Even if I wanted to help my hands are tied, I'm neutral. By law that I'm not allowed help you.

January 20, 1941

Roosevelt is the first president to successfully be elected for three terms. It's odd. Technically he can do it but it's always been two terms... Maybe I'm too stuck in the old ways of doing things, he's been a great president so far and I'm sure he'll continue that trend.

March 11, 1941

The Senate has approved of the Lend-Lease Act.

Basically FDR and I were thinking of how we could help Britain while remaining neutral, and we were able to find a loophole.

It's illegal to sell supplies to the nations, but it never said anything about lending those supplies in return for European supplies and definitely not broken weaponry.

It's pretty smart if I do say so myself. Kinda heroic.

I'm like one of those heroes in those new comic books I've been seeing. Where they swoop in at the last second to save the damsel in distress.

The damsel being Britain in this situation, which is a little funny.

June 22, 1941

Germany betrayed Russia and started invading the U.S.S.R. I'm not here to teach Germany how to fight a war, but aren't you usually supposed to close one front before you open another? Or is Germany just that confident?

December 1, 1941

Hawaii is such a beautiful place. My nation's own tropical paradise. With its bright blue water, volcanoes, and gorgeous sandy beaches, no wonder Amelia flew over it all the time.

How I wish we could've flown together. We would've gone all over the country, seen all the states from a bird's eye view.

I need to stop thinking like this, it puts me in a dark place.

December 6, 1941

Something isn't right. I don't know why, but I'm getting sense I shouldn't be here. I haven't felt like this since... when have I felt like this?

The Civil War?

It can't be that, I haven't heard from Confederacy since the beginning of the Depression.

I hate this feeling.

December 7, 1941

I knew something bad was going to happen, I fucking knew it! The damn Japs attacked me out of nowhere, I'm neutral and they attacked me! They ambushed us and destroyed a bunch of our ships, planes, and people. 2,403 Americans died because of them, and thousands more injured.

I want to stay neutral, and would've without question if I was left alone, and then Japan comes out of no where with some half-assed scare tactic? I don't think neutrality is an option anymore.

I know I talked all that crap about the other nations punishing Germany out of revenge, but that was after the fact. This war is fresh and only warming up, and Japan is going to pay.

He is going to pay with his life.

December 13, 1941

Germany and all the other Axis have declared war against me. That's fine, I'll take all you bastards on.

December 17, 1941

Today was the first day I met up with the Allies, and they were actually happy to see me. It was jarring, I fully expected to get the usual glare and scoffs but they seemed delighted for my help.

Whatever, let's just get this over with quickly. I couldn't care less about the Nazis, I want Japan.

December 18, 1941

Everyone looks like shit. Britain's whole chest is wrapped in bandages. France's "beautiful" face is covered in bruises, and more bandages. China looks like he got stabbed, and Russia is pained and pissed about it. Canadia is the only one without serious injury, since his country has been untouched.

. . .Something isn't right here.

May 8, 1942

Australia and my soldiers were able to push back Japan from Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea. I'm glad he was able to defend himself from that imperialistic bastard, but I'm also jealous I wasn't there to fight as well.

Right now I'm devising a plan with Britain to begin bombing Germany. A little payback for The Blitz.

June 7, 1942

Japan was beaten again at Midway. I'm missing out.

September 11, 1942

When I'm not bombing German cities, I'm working with a handful of Navajo to create an unbreakable code. We will be able to use this code to communicate around the world and not have to worry about our enemies knowing our plans.

I am the only one that can understand it.

Wait I forgot about Canadia... and I guess Mexico.

November 1, 1942

Why is Russia trying to relate to me? Germany's betrayal of him wasn't the same, he wasn't hurt by his friend. Germany was a simple alliance so both of them could take Poland.

. . .But he did hurt Russia's family, so I suppose he understands me more than I thought.

November 8, 1942

I know we decided on attacking Italy through Africa, since he's the "soft underbelly," but I still don't know why we can't just blast through France.

At least Germany is wearing that ridiculous black suit, so he's gonna have a hard time chasing us through the hot weather.

February 21, 1943

Stupid British, stupid tea!

I can't believe Germany captured us because Britain was insistent on having tea time, in a battleground of all places!

Still not as bad as that disgusting combination of marmite and hardtack. I may have a lack of taste because of him, but even I have my limits.

July 10, 1943

Today begins our mission to take control of Sicily. This is going too slow.

Maybe I'm not giving it my all. I should try my hardest to take down the Axis in Europe, be the hero for the Allies. Then I'll have Japan all to myself.

January 22, 1944

I finally broke through to Anzio. Only a little farther and we'll have captured Rome, along with Italy's brother Romano.

Britain is still upset he was captured by the two. He almost got away too because they fell asleep on guard duty, if only he didn't stick out like a sore thumb among Italians.

Guess I have to go save him myself. We're supposed to have a meeting soon so it would be a little awkward if he was absent because he was locked in a prison.

June 5, 1944

Tomorrow is the day, when we start our invasion of France through Normandy. We've already set up our dummy paratroopers to lead away the brunt of the German forces, but it's still going to be a struggle.

We've got no armor, have to enter the beach on narrow ships, and have to trudge all the way up and around to take control of the bunkers.

Not to mention the Germans have the high ground and set up a ton of obstacles to slow us down. They obviously don't know it's happening, but they prepared just in case.

June 7, 1944

Yesterday we were successfully able to push through and capture Utah and Omaha, and I believe Britain and Canadia captured theirs as well.

I was unfortunately on Omaha, which due to failed air and naval bombardment there was a lot more German opposition, and so many Americans had died. Those that hadn't died were still injured, I'm not exempt from that.

Landing on the beach was a massacre, everyone got minced. By the end of the day the entire shoreline was soaked red with blood, bodies and limbs floating throughout the water. It's a horrible sight.

I hope the other two weren't exposed to this, they haven't even recovered from the last war.

Russia gave me a call to tell me that he had freed his second sister and is now pushing forward to Germany. Good for him, he sounded happy to have his sisters back.

- Alfred F. Jones

Natalya remembered when Russia had freed her. Riding through Minsk on a massive tank with Ukraine protectively hidden inside.

The second the tank stopped her sister had jumped out and sprinted to her, pulling her into a teary-eyed bear hug.

It was one of the few times she accepted one of her sister's hugs. After nearly three years of constantly being pestered by Prussia, it was nice to be reunited with her family.

And it was very nice when Russia came over and wrapped them up into an even bigger hug. He wasn't afraid to touch her that time, he was too relieved to see her again.

She brushed the side of her cheek while remembering her last interaction with him. The stinging, his pained face, his crying. That day she hurt him just the same as he hurt her.

July 25, 1944

We've moved past Normandy and are heading to Paris, and then Germany.

With Russia closing in from the east, and us pushing from the west, it seems like some brutal irony for what started this in the first place.

August 15, 1944

The forces down in southern France have moved up and are heading toward the Rhine River.

We'll be closing in on Paris soon enough.

October 20, 1944

My troops have landed in the Philippines today. I wish I was there to protect and fight alongside him.

December 16, 1944

Germany doesn't seem to like the Allies closing in, so they began another offensive to split up and surround us.

I don't think it will work, it's the same exact strategy they used in France and Russia. They may not have learned their lesson, but we learned ours.

March 7, 1945

We've crossed the Rhine River. We'll be reaching Berlin in no time, and so will Russia.

April 4, 1945

On our way to Berlin, we passed through a town. Or that's what we thought. This place, Ohrdruf, was home to something called a concentration camp.

It was used to round up Jews, Gypsies, all sorts of groups of people, and exterminate them. When we arrived at the camp itself, the German soldiers had already left, executing everyone just so we couldn't save them.

If that wasn't bad enough, we discovered mass graves, and chambers, gas chambers. They would kill them by the hundreds at a time and drop them all in the same spot.

The bodies were emaciated, badly. These people were starved, tortured, murdered.

How can an entire country's people be this sick?! Do the townspeople even know? Are Germany and Prussia aware of what's happening? Can they feel these people dying, or did they take them from the nations they took over?

Does anyone know at all? I didn't, the soldiers didn't. Has this been happening the entire time, under all of our noses?

Nazi Germany has been around since 1933, so have people been getting killed for over a decade without anyone seeing?

Actually now that I think about it, Russia told me something about this. Majdanek and Auschwitz.

He described what Auschwitz was like. Thousands of prisoners in cramped rooms, starved, living in their own disease-ridden waste.

Giant gas chambers and graves, filled to the brim with Jews, massive piles of them. Even at the time they were liberating it there were still people being incinerated.

He saw black smoke rising from the camp, and all the way from the nearest town he could smell burnt flesh.

Even with what he's been through, he admitted to me that it was disturbing.

Those two Germans better not know about this, because if they do and are allowing it, then this war is not going to end well for them.

April 12, 1945

FDR passed away, he died of a stroke earlier today. He was a great man, maybe even the best, (of course he is, he's a Roosevelt), but I can't mourn his loss now, I need to press on and stop Germany.

April 16, 1945

Russia has finally made it to Berlin and encircled the city. The rest of the Allies will meet up with them in a couple months.

I was given the go ahead to rush forward and get there early. I don't have months to go slow, I need to get to the Pacific now.

April 30, 1945

Russia and I had blasted through part of the city, and made it to Hitler's bunker, but we were just too late. That bastard killed himself.

Russia was understandably furious, and couldn't help but stomp on Hitler's corpse a few times.

I have more in common with that man than I'm willing to admit.

May 7, 1945

Germany has finally surrendered to us, though not the Soviets yet for some reason.

I'm not going to think too hard on that, I have a Jap to kill.

June 3, 1945

These Japs are relentless! They just won't surrender. It's been over 3 months now!

I've seen Japan a few times now, flailing around that katana willy-nilly. The last time I had seen him was when the Axis fucked up s'mores and Italy nearly sent Rome on us.

July 14, 1945

For some reason my country is calling me back, something about the Manhattan Project. I'll go back, but I'm not happy about it.

July 16, 1945

I stand corrected on being upset, this is amazing. "The Atomic Bomb." With this I can put Japan down for sure. This will be the start of a new age, the atomic age.

Get ready Japan, this is going to sting.

August 6, 1945

I got news that the Little Boy was dropped on Hiroshima, and that it was an astounding success.

But for some reason the pilots aren't happy about it. Why? This could be the end of the war, we can get Japan to surrender.

August 7, 1945

Why won't they surrender, are they seriously sticking to their ideals after that? I'm giving them a chance, do they want the other one?

Really?

August 8, 1945

Fine, guess we're dropping the second one. And I'm dropping this one myself. If he doesn't take the bluff and surrender after this one... I'm not sure what I'll do.

August 9, 1945

What have I done?

Oh God, I'm so sorry Japan.

September 2, 1945

Japan surrendered, but he couldn't even show up to his own treaty.

I need to fix this.

- Alfred F. Jones

Natalya was done reading for today, and maybe for a few days. World War Two was already a sore spot for her, but now she was getting into The Cold War. She wasn't excited.

She put away her phone and took her empty plate to the kitchen, passing by Alfred and Peter sitting opposite of each other on the couch.

"Again, why are you recording me while I open this?" Alfred wondered while holding the package Peter brought.

Peter lowered the phone and looked at him. "Don't worry about it." He then pulled the phone back up and pointed it at Alfred.

Alfred was a little suspicious, but a surprise gift was too intriguing for him to ignore. So he began opening the gift, but as he ripped away the top his smile dropped like a brick.

Slowly he lowered his hand into the box, then brought out a second box, Dora the Explorer the Complete Series.

"It's a uh... a nice gift Peter," he struggled to compliment, trying his absolute hardest to hold himself back from destroying the box.

"You don't have to lie about it being good, it's a prank gift," Peter elaborated, giving Alfred the green light to get angry.

"Alright good," Alfred stated while staring down at the box with a dead expression, before clenching hard on it until it exploded in his hands.

Peter held back a laugh as he recorded the whole thing, watching the progression of Alfred's seething rage.

Natalya rolled her eyes and went back to her room. With those two in the way of the TV, there wasn't much for her to do.

She sat back on her bed and pulled out her phone, seeing if she could watch YouTube or something. Though it appeared she couldn't access anything because she didn't have WiFi.

Grumbling to herself, she got back up to go ask Alfred for the password.

(Half an hour earlier)

Russia sat in his car, letting out a prolonged sigh as he hung up on Germany. Random calls were very interrupting to his mission.

Soon they would be reaching the Canadian border, and without any recent details on her location, Russia was beginning to grow worried that they were going in the wrong direction.

Eventually they were going through the toll booth, and that's when a notification finally came up on his phone.

He looked down and pulled up a map, showing a new dot marked all the way in Alaska. The driver looked back at him for his next instruction, to which Russia told him to get to the nearest airport.

Soon he'll have his sister back.
