Ch. 2 / How Do You Deal With 7 Asukas?

"Hey loser, I'm thirsty. I need water now." The 6th Asuka ordered Shinji.
Together, all 7 of the Asukas were sitting on the sand, each occupied with their own thoughts.
"I have some water with me. Here catch." Shinji unzipped his backpack and tossed a bottle of water towards the 6th Asuka.
"Does anyone else need water?" Shinji looked to the other 6 Asukas. They looked right back at him with different expressions.
"Yes please." The 1st Asuka squeaked from Shinji's side. Shinji gave her a bottle of water and she quickly chugged it down. The other Asukas followed and soon each Asuka had a bottle except for the 5th.
"WHAT THE HELL BAKA SHINJI!!" The 5th Asuka chopped Shinji on the head hard.
Shinji fell back and the first was quickly by his side, tending to his injury. As Shinji sat there, he stared at the 5th Asuka standing in front of him.
He didn't like this Asuka. It reminded him of all the times Asuka abused and hurt him for no apparent reason. It brought back some bad memories for him when she first moved into Misato's apartment. Shinji analyzed this Asuka as the side that just hit and hurt him.
"We can go get some more water if you want." Shinji stood up and rubbed his head. The 1st Asuka rose up with him.
"I would like that." The 5th Asuka huffed and crossed her arms.
"Alright, I say we all go together so we can get as much as we can-" Shinji was cut off.
"I can get my own things by myself, thank you." The 2nd Asuka stated.
"Suit yourself then. Everyone else coming?" Shinji looked to the other 6 Asukas.
"I'll go." The 1st Asuka said immediately.
The 3rd Asuka cringed at Shinji's choice of words and the 4th Asuka walked over to Shinji's side, making sure that he noticed her.
The 5th grumbled something but said yes and the 7th just nodded.
"I'll be here. Get me some food while you're there." The 6th Asuka said in a bossing manner. She didn't even look Shinji in the eye.
Shinji also didn't like this Asuka. It also reminded him of the time when she lived with Shinji. Along with the abuse, she bossed him into cooking and cleaning and pretty much everything she wanted him to do. She made him into her own personal slave of sorts and it looks like this Asuka isn't going to change.
Shinji sighed and then turned towards the Asukas going with him.
"Alright we'll be going to some convenience store I found." They looked back at him, seemingly waiting for him.
"Which way is that? Actually scratch that I'll find it." The 2nd Asuka dashed off and ran in the direction of the convenience store.
Shinji, the 1st, 4th, 5th, and 7th walked over the hill and onto the city street. Asuka 3 and 6 stayed behind.
"Do you know where you're going?" Shinji yelled towards the distant 2nd Asuka.
"I don't need your help!" The 2nd Asuka yelled back.
"Hopefully she doesn't get lost…" Shinji said with a worried tone.
"Don't worry. If she does, we'll find her." The 7th Asuka assured Shinji.
Shinji nodded and then walked down the street towards the convenience store. The 1st was holding onto his sleeve as they walked. Suddenly, the 4th Asuka broke the link between the 1st and Shinji and quickly hugged onto Shinji's left arm.
"It's like we're on a date huh." The 4th suggestively smiled at Shinji and shoved Shinji's arms in between her breasts.
Shinji then felt a tug at his right sleeve. It was the 1st once again holding onto Shinji. He couldn't help but smile at seeing two Asuka's trying to fight over him. It was a sight he never thought would happen. Behind him the 7th smiled and watched, the 5th was being stubborn and not paying attention to Shinji.
After a few short minutes, the group arrived at the store. Through the cracked window they could see the 2nd Asuka raiding the shelves for food. The group walked into the store and the Asukas looked around.
"I told you I could do this myself." The 2nd stuck her tongue out at Shinji.
The 5th quickly made a beeline for the fridge in the back and chugged a bottle of water.
Shinji then got an empty bottle thrown at his head. "You could've got water for me too instead of making me wait!"
The other Asukas went about the store and also grabbed the same backpack as Shinji. They immediately began to grab food they thought was good and water for later. Shinji also went about the store, refilling his bag with the water he used up.
After all the Asukas were done, the store looked fairly empty. At least a lot of the shelves did. It also didn't help the Asukas ate a lot of the food while gathering. Deciding they had enough, Shinji and the Asukas left the store and began making their way back to the other two Asuka's left on the beach.
As the group was walking back, Shinji said something aloud. "I was thinking, we should find somewhere to live or something."
The 4th Asuka quickly answered. "Ohh? Can I sleep with you if we find a place?" She grabbed onto Shinji's arm and looked him into the eyes.
The 1st Asuka didn't like the move and had somewhat of a pouty face. Her eyes were also like dagger, pointed right at Shinji. It was cute.
"Let's just worry about finding somewhere first." Shinji nervously chuckled. He looked over at the 1st Asuka and she looked to soften those dagger eyes she had earlier.
"Booo you're no fun." The 4th let go of his arm and then walked by his side.
Eventually they reach the beach and saw the two Asukas sitting next to each other. They turned their heads when they saw Shinji and the the other 5 Asukas.
"Give me the food you got." The 6th Asuka demanded.
"Here I have some." The 7th Asuka began to unzip her bag.
"No I want Shinji's food, not yours." The 6th Asuka looked like she wanted to spit in the 7th Asuka's face for even offering her food.
The 7th just stared at the 6th.
"Hey it's fine. I got you those chips you like." Shinji tossed a bag of chips over to the 6th.
She grunted and open the bag up, tasting the flavor. "Who ever said I liked this?" She tossed the bag to the side, spilling the chips all over the sand.
Shinji just sighed. He didn't want to deal with this again.
"Ok so I was thinking we-" Shinji was cut off.
"You never answered my question." The 6th Asuka stepped towards Shinji. She grabbed the front of his shirt.
"Who ever said I liked this?" She said coldly.
"You did." Shinji calmly said.
"Bullshit." The 6th Asuka sent a right hook that hit Shinji's face. Some blood came out and Shinji fell onto the sand once again.
Shinji coughed and then stood up. He was seriously tired of Asuka treating him like shit. Shinji turned around began to walk away.
"Hey where are you going?" The 6th yelled.
"Finding somewhere to live." The Shinji said with his back turned. He really wanted to just choke this Asuka like before. She pissed him off.
The other Asukas quickly followed Shinji while looking back at the 6th. The 3rd Asuka also stayed behind with the 6th.
"I don't want to live him." The 3rd Asuka said.
"He's a fucking pussy, won't even stand up to me. Just running away." The 6th Asuka stated.
"But we do need a place to live but…" The 3rd Asuka didn't seem to pay attention to what the 6th said.
"Then go live with him bitch, god damn." The 6th was angry.
"Yea but then he's going to go and jerk off all over me while I sleep." The 3rd shivered.
"Don't worry, I'll do something about that if it happens." The 6th said.
"Thanks." The 3rd Asuka said.
The two then left the beach and walked quickly to catch up with the group. When they arrived, the Asukas turned their head to look at them. Shinji didn't bother.
"So where do we think we should go?" Shinji asked the group.
The Asukas looked at him. They were all thinking.
"Well do we even know where we are?" The 7th asked.
"Somewhere in Tokyo-3." The 1st quietly said.
"Yea no shit." The 6th said in response.
"Ok then. I was thinking we go to Misato's apartment but I don't really know how to get there from here." Shinji suggested. "Do any of you guys know?"
The Asukas shook their heads.
"We'll have to find someplace else then. Maybe a hotel?…" Shinji trailed off.
"I'll find one." Asuka 2 said and quickly walked away from the group.
"I think we should stick together, it'll help the group out to have us all here." Shinji tried to convince the 2nd Asuka.
"No I'll find us all a hotel or something to stay at." The 2nd Asuka turned around.
"Yes but what if you get lost or somethi-" Shinji was cut off again. Seems like the Asukas do this a lot.
"What, do you not trust me?" Asuka questioned.
"No it's just that-" Shinji was cut off again.
"Just what? Just what huh? Don't believe in Asuka to do something herself? Don't want Asuka to do anything herself?" The 2nd Asuka was getting angry.
"I'm just being precautious." Shinji said.
"Tch, precautious my ass. I'll find us that hotel, mark my words!" The 2nd Asuka exclaimed and quickly ran off.
Shinji just sighed, he couldn't do anything to stop this stubborn Asuka.
The group continued walking around. They were surrounded by shops and shops of whatever product they were selling. Above, the red streaked moon shone brightly, illuminating the street just enough to read some signs. As Shinji and the group walked through the city, he truly realized how destroyed the city became. Rubble was everywhere, the streets were filled with cracks and many abandoned cars were littered throughout. The buildings surrounding them had visible damage to its structure and some windows were broken and cracked.
"I'm tired of walking, find us some place faster." The 6th Asuka demanded.
Shinji just ignored what this Asuka said. Of course, why didn't he think about finding a place faster.
As Shinji and the Asukas kept walking, Shinji could feel the energy draining from everyone. Even the 4th Asuka was starting focus less on Shinji and more on walking. Everybody seemed drained and tired.
The group continued walking down the street until they eventually reached a crossroad. Looking at each direction, Shinji seemed to notice something that got his attention. If the group turned to the right, a small neighborhood with residential homes were sitting together.
"Looks like we have something." Shinji smiled. Finally, somewhere to stay.
The Asukas looked in the same direction as Shinji and instantly lit up.
"Sheesh, finally." The 6th Asuka sighed. She was finally relieved they found a place, although Shinji could've found it faster in her opinion.
The 5 Asukas walked together quickly, leaving Shinji and the 1st Asuka alone. It seemed as thought the 5 Asukas were like regular girls, enjoying their time together like friends. It was a nice sight to Shinji. The first still hung onto Shinji's sleeve.
Eventually, the Asukas settled on a house that looked fairly big. The 5 stood in front of the house while they waited for Shinji and the 1st to catch up.
"He's not actually going to stay with us right? I don't want him to…" The 3rd Asuka quietly said.
Shinji heard this while walking up.
"I mean what if he, you know, while we sleep?" The 3rd Asuka asked the others.
"Don't worry. I won't." Shinji said quietly. He was ashamed of what he did and now to have 7 Asuka's around him doesn't help. Especially the 4th Asuka. She does not help at all.
"How can I trust you? You're a pervert after all." The 3rd said.
"I'll just sleep in another room if you want." Shinji offered.
"What's stopping you from coming to wherever I'm sleeping? I can't do anything about that while I sleep. I mean I could do anything in that hospital." The 3rd Asuka said.
"I'll sleep with him." The 1st Asuka said.
The 3rd gagged. She didn't seem to like that.
"And I will too." The 4th Asuka added.
"No you're definitely not going to sleep in the same room as him. He's going to some gross pervert thing and jack off all over you and you're going to like it." The 3rd Asuka got up in the 4th Asuka's face.
"At least I trust him enough to not do that. I can at least sleep in the same room as him." The 4th Asuka shot back.
"You're disgusting too you know that right? Making him look at your body and all that, you're just making the pervert in him grow!" The 3rd yelled.
The 4th Asuka had no response.
"Fine I won't sleep in his room." The 4th Asuka mumbled.
"Actually, he shouldn't get a room. How about that?" The 3rd Asuka suggested.
"Fine with me." Shinji just wanted to get all this drama wrapped up.
"And nobody will be sleeping near him." The 3rd Asuka finally said. "We all agree?"
All the Asukas present nodded while the 1st and 4th were a little reluctant at first.
"By the way, where is the uhmm… how do I put this…. Other me?" The 3rd Asuka asked.
From a few feet away, a grumble could be heard.
"I found us all hotel… but here you are…" She looked mad.
The 2nd Asuka shoved past the group and walked to the front door.
"I'll open the door myself then." Shoving it open and allowing access to the inside. The 2nd walked in with the rest of the group following behind.
The interior of the house was very cozy. It was clear that this house was well used and lived in, supporting what looked to be a family for many years. Shinji noticed a frame holding a photo of a family of 5.
"Pardon the intrusion." Shinji said, slipping his shoes off. The other Asukas did the same.
Shinji shut the door behind them and tried to turn the lights on. He flipped the switch next to the door and waited for the lights to turn on. Nothing happened and the whole house was dark.
"Great. We'll have no light." The 6th grumbled.
"Well there's got to be flashlights or candles somewhere here." The 7th Asuka said.
"Shinji, look around for them." The 6th Asuka ordered.
Shinji just stared at the 6th. He really hated how she bossed him around. Reluctantly, Shinji began to look for some light. The 1st Asuka followed him.
"Hey you don't have to follow him everywhere you know." The 6th said to the 1st.
"Yea but I want to." The 1st Asuka squeaked out.
The 6th Asuka just grumbled.
Out of the darkness, Shinji appeared with a flashlight.
"I conveniently found 4 in the kitchen drawer. Here, catch." Shinji tossed it in the direction of the Asukas.
The 6th caught the first one before the others. Shinji gave the other two to some other Asuka. "Ok let's decide rooms."
The 6th Asuka walked to the hallway, flashlight in hand, illuminating the dark home. From their investigation, they found a master bedroom and two other bedrooms. 4 beds total.
"Me and uh… her will take the master bedroom." The 6th Asuka claimed the room. She was pointing picking the 3rd as her roommate.
"I'll take the room with two beds." The 2nd Asuka claimed next.
"I'll go with you." The 5th followed the 2nd Asuka. The two took a flashlight and went into the room.
"I guess us three will be in the last room." The 7th Asuka said.
"Will you be alright on the couch Shinji?" The 1st Asuka worriedly asked.
"Yea I'll be fine, don't worry. Just stay in your room so we don't piss off those two in the master." Shinji smiled.
The 1st nodded and quickly followed the 7th and 4th to their room.
Shinji yawned and stretched. Looks like the couch would be his tonight. It wasn't a bad couch either, looked very comfy.
Shinji then went to the hallway, looking for a closet or something that could have blankets. He opened a door and was greeted by stacks of bedsheets and blankets. Shinji grabbed the top one and took it back to the living room. He laid the blanket on the couch while adjusting a pillow on the chair sideways. One last yawn told Shinji he should probably sleep. Feeling a little dirty and having no change of clothes, Shinji took off his pants and slid under his covers.
Today was long. How much had he really done? First he rejected instrumentality, then respawned on the beach, then wondered around, then found Asuka, then again and again and again, then they walked, and then now they're here. Shinji closed his eyes and just wanted to go to sleep.
As he laid, Shinji felt the couch sink by his feet. He tried to look up but the darkness couldn't show him anything.
"Hey I'm sorry for today. I mean I didn't do anything, well technically I did, but also it wasn't me but- oh whatever. I'm sorry." The voice said.
Shinji recognized it as one of the Asukas. "Sorry for what?"
"Just all the shit we- or I -put you through." The Asuka said.
"I mean I'm used to it. Just now there's 7 of you." Shinji chuckled.
"Yea but you're constantly having to go through all of our demands and everything, like how do you do it?" The Asuka seemed to relax. She laid back on the couch.
"Well to be honest?" Shinji said.
"Yea?" Asuka said.
"I care about you guys." Shinji admitted. "Even if there's 7 of you, you're all still Asuka according to me."
Silence.
"I mean am I really Asuka? I don't really feel like it." Asuka said.
"I'd say you're a part of her. So yes, you're Asuka to me." Shinji said.
"But I just don't feel like it. I look and breathe like Asuka and I guess I have her personality but I just… I don't know…" Asuka went quiet.
"Look on the bright side. You're Asuka!" Shinji smiled.
"Yea I guess you're right." Asuka smiled too.
"And it doesn't change anything about how I think about you. To me you're Asuka just like how Asuka in the other room is also Asuka. You guys are… different sides to her." Shinji said.
"What do think even happened? Why is there multiple me?" Asuka asked.
"To be honest, I don't know. But if there's a way to fix this, we'll figure it out." Shinji said.
"Fix us? Fix us how?" Asuka questioned.
"I don't know, maybe we'll sow your different body parts together to make one Asuka amalgamation." Shinji chuckled.
"That was not funny." Asuka couldn't help but laugh too.
The two laid there together in darkness.
"Aren't you not supposed to sleep near me?" Shinji said, breaking the silence.
"Well the little pet and the flirty one are knocked out. I just couldn't sleep." Asuka said. Shinji concluded this was the 7th.
"You notice their personalities?" Shinji asked.
"Yea I kinda just sit back and I was just watching everything unfold." The 7th Asuka said.
"I see." Shinji yawned.
Asuka stood up and began to walk away. "Guess I'll get out of your hair then, night."
"Good night Asuka." Shinji said. "And hey, if you ever want to talk, I'm here alright?"
"I'll keep that in mind." Asuka smiled. She walked away and entered the bedroom.
Shinji yawned once more. He turned over to his side and closed his eyes. He felt relieved after that talk. Soon enough, Shinji fell asleep on the gray couch.
In some other apartment, a blanket moves up and down with the rhythm of someone's breathing.

A/n: Gonna be honest with you guys I haven't read that Minisuka fic or Insider's Look fic so sorry if somehow I copy something from there. Didn't realize there was a Asuka split personality thing already :p
Also I apologize if sometimes Shinji gets ooc or any of the Asukas. I keep accidentally mixing fanfic Shinji's with the actual Shinji and making them his personality and character. Especially that one fic where he's looped a bunch of times and then works with Gendo, I keep thinking his actions there would apply to this Shinji's thought process here so mb
