Chapter 3: Chance Meetings

Agent BM: You got that right.

"You think we should open a store in Sugar Rush?" asked Wanda.

"Yeah, I mean this could really help us." Honey said.

"Do you really think that could work?" Trevor wondered.

"Mom, Dad, Sugar Rush is the main attraction of the town, if we had a store in there we could make some good money."

Trevor and Wanda looked at each other.

"Well, it's a nice idea Honey. But opening a store is expensive, and we can't afford that right now." Trevor replied.

Honey felt down heartened, this store could help them but they didn't even have the any to make it happen.

Later that night, as Honey got changed into her pajamas, she couldn't stop thinking about her family's situation.

"(Sighs), life just isn't fair sometimes, guys." she told her bees.

"It's a bummer, that's what it is." said Buzz.

"Don't worry, Honey. Things will turn up." Bumble encouraged.

"Yeah, maybe." Honey replied.

"Just keep your head up, Honey." Stinger told her.

She then got into bed, turned off her lamp, took off her glasses, and went to sleep.

The next day, Honey arrived at school. Just as Honey had parked her bike, when she heard the sound of a loud engine.

"What the?" she asked herself.

It wasn't just her, the other students were also curious, and walked towards the sound. Honey gently pushed through the crowd, and saw someone approaching on a motorcycle. The motorcycle was bright green, with blue flames, and the rider was wearing a black helmet that covered his face, black jacket, blue jeans, and brown boots.

"Who's that?" wondered Adorabeezle.

"I don't know." Honey told her.

Then the person took off their helmet, to reveal a teenage guy. He had fair skin, thick scruffy black hair, and blue eyes. The girls were stunned, and even star struck. He was really handsome, and even Honey felt her cheeks heat up.

But before anyone could do anything, the bell rang and the students went inside.

In her first class, Honey was waiting for it to start. Suddenly she heard the door open, and when everyone looked up they saw their teacher coming in with the guy on the motorcycle. All the girls in the class got excited to see him again.

"Everyone, I'd like you all to meet Litwak High's newest student, Zeke Shaw." the teacher introduced.

Honey was able to get a better look at him. He wore a dark green t-shirt underneath his jacket, and he had sort of a "bad boy" vibe.

"I'm sure you'll all make him feel welcomed. Now Zeke why don't you take a seat next to...Honey over there."

"Okay." Zeke replied simply.

And he sat by Honey, without even glancing at her.

For the rest of the day, Honey kept hearing things about Zeke. The girls were talking about how cute he was and how they liked his "bad boy" demeanor. The guys were sort of skeptical of him, and some were annoyed that their girlfriends were looking at him with admiration.

During lunch, Honey got her tray, and made her way to a table. But as she was walking, she didn't notice that her shoe lace had come undone. She stepped on it, and the next thing she knew tripped, and her tray flew out of her hands.

She fell to the ground, and her glasses fell off her face. The next thing she knew laughter filled her ears. She felt around for her glasses, and finally found them. But when she put them on, she saw a horrific sight.

In front of her was Zeke, her lunch tray was on the floor, and her food had landed all over Zeke's shirt. Her face turned red in embarrassment.

"I-I-I'm so sorry." Honey spluttered out.

She quickly got up, and picked up a napkin from a nearby table. She tried to wipe off his shirt, but he gently pushed her away.

"Watch where you're going next time." he told her in a rather cold voice.

And he walked off, leaving Honey frozen like a statue.

The rest of the day was very long for Honey. The cafeteria incident spread all through the school, and everyone kept whispering and snickering at her. School couldn't end fast enough for her, and once it was over she quickly left the building, got on her bike, and pedaled to work.

"Oh, great Honey that was real smooth." she berated.

Her bees flew towards her ears.

"It was an accident, Honey." reminded Buzz.

"Yeah, I'm sure everyone will forget about it tomorrow." Bumble told her.

"Just forget about it." Stinger replied.

"You're right, guys."

She was hoping that she wouldn't mess up at work because of this little slip.

Luckily, her shift went smoothly, and she didn't make anymore slip up. By the time her shift was over, it was 7:30, and the sun was starting to go down.

"Whew, I'm beat." said Honey, as she left the cafe.

She hopped on her bike, and pedaled home. As she biked, it was getting darker, so she turned on her bike's light. As she pedaled she began feeling even more tired. Her eyes started drooping, and she couldn't focus on the road.

The next thing she knew, she had crashed right into something! She fell to the ground, so did her bike and backpack, and once again she lost her glasses. Disoriented and blind, she couldn't quite make out what was going on.

She managed to find her glasses, and even though they were slightly cracked, she put them on, and saw that she had crashed into a car on the road. A few feet away was the car, it was black van that had dent in the side from where she had crashed into it.

"Oh man." she groaned.

The bees flew out of the backpack, and over to her.

"Honey are you okay?" wondered Stinger.

"Are you hurt?" Bumble wanted to know.

"Please say you're okay." urged Buzz.

"Calm down, guys. I think I'm okay." Honey assured them.

Then the doors opened, and some people got out. There were five of them, and Honey could tell they were men. They all wore black outfits, and were coming towards her.

"What did this girl think she was doing?" one asked.

"Obviously not looking where she was going." another said.

"Now relax boys."

They got closer to her, and Honey could make out faces. Then a wave of terror washed over her. The man coming towards her was Daniel Maroni, leader of the Maroni Gang.
