The Samurai Mutants

Akira and Yukio, two female Japanese mutants who fall in love, combine their strengths against the forces of evil. With help from their fellow mutants, Wolverine and Laura Kinney and Jubilee, they take the fight to Shingen and his criminal organization to save Mariko from a forced marriage, even as enemies from their pasts and an entire criminal island stand in their way.

2. Chapter 2

In New York

The legendary Wolverine, aka Logan, was on an expensive yacht with his Japanese sweetheart Mariko Yashida, who had given Logan some peace they he'd desired for as long as his fractured memory could remember. And in return, Logan had given Mariko unconditional love for as long as they'd known each other. It seemed like both of them had given each other peace and love in their lives despite being from different worlds and they both hoped it would last forever.

Logan had even told Mariko about his life, including his time as a part time X-Men, and especially about Laura/X-23, his clone who he also considered her as close as a daughter as he could have in the life he'd lived. And he'd even told her of Jubilee, the vampire that she'd met 4 years ago and had formed a friendship that eventually evolved into romantic love, which he always teased her about every time they were together and he'd even introduced Mariko to them and the X-Men and they'd all taken a liking to her, as they thought she was exactly what Wolverine needed to have the peace and love he'd always wanted, especially Laura and Jubilee, who she thought of as her own daughters and grew to love them as such, and they treated her kindly in return.

But while Laura and Jubilee helped the X-Men from time to time, they'd decided to travel the world together to learn how to live in a world that feared and hated them just for being what they were, while also helping innocent people wherever they went while having homes for themselves as well. But for the most part, they stayed on the island of Bali, as it was 1 of the most peaceful places on earth and, as the people of the island were welcoming after they'd saved several people there, they'd bought a place at Morabito Art Cliff resort with contract money and part time consultant jobs for the governor and had made it a home, though they occasionally came back to the mainland when they missed their friends or they were needed by either Logan or the X-Men.

As Mariko was overlooking the city she called home, Logan walked up behind her and wrapped his arm around her gently. "Is it too cold for you?"

"No. Not with you here. Never." Mariko answered with a smile. "How are Laura and Jubilee? Are they still in Bali?"

"They are. And they're really happy there since they made a life for themselves, though they told me they'd come to see us the 1st chance they get." Logan answered. "They really do miss you."

"Well, I'll be sure to make plans for us to visit them in a couple of weeks. I'd really love to see how far they've come since I met them." Mariko said with a sweet smile, thinking a trip to Bali to see Laura and Jubilee would be perfect for both of them.

Logan then said something from his heart. "Mariko, whenever I'm with you, I feel like the world is a better place." Making Mariko smile back at him with love.

But suddenly, their peaceful, romantic moment was ruined when 3 people in bodysuits and jetpacks burst out of the water and set their sights specifically on Mariko, who knew what this was. "Oh, no!"

"Stay behind me." Logan told her before the men began shooting massive machine gunfire at Logan and the ship, destroying its front and injuring the clawed mutant in a way that would surely kill any normal human as his body was burned open, much to Mariko's horror. "Logan!"

But Logan held her back and got to his feet despite the intense pain he was in. "Stay back." He said before he began healing in just a minute. And when he was fully healed, his animalistic rage kicked in and he roared out before lodging at the men while drawing out his claws, wanting to defend the love of his life no matter the odds. But sadly, it didn't help, as Mariko had been taken while Logan was knocked out.

1 year later

Asano was running through the rooftops, as if being chased by someone, until he ran out of rooftops to jump to. "Son of a bitch!" He cursed before turning and drawing his gun.

Then, 5 people in white and black bodysuits carrying very advanced tech weapons uncloaked themselves, ready to kill the Japanese agent. Asano tried to shoot them but had shield generators that protected them, stopping the bullets. 1 of them then used a sonic disruptor weapon to destroy Asano's weapon, along with his watch and badge when it fell out his coat and dropped to his knees and held his head.

But before they could finish him off, a beer can dropped on the shield and broke apart, spattering the drink on 1 of them, making them look up to reveal Logan, and his clone/daughter Laura, aka X-23 and Jubilee, the vampire who'd Laura had met some time ago and had become friends and eventually lovers with. "You thugs at A.I.M don't really play fair, do you?"

"No, they never do. But what do you expect from a former branch of those Nazi Hydra assholes?" Laura asked with a smirk.

"Oh, we'll fix that, won't we, baby?" Jubilee asked. "And I'm very hungry right now."

"Oh, I can more than take them alone, but how about I let you girls have some fun, huh?" Logan asked with humor while holding another beer.

"Hey, Asano. It's been a while." Laura said while looking her old friend.

"Logan. Laura. Jubilee." Asano said while getting to his feet.

"These 2nd rate thugs giving you a hard time, Asano?" Jubilee asked with a grin. "Say the word and we'll put 'em all down for ya. They're just a bunch of little pussies anyhow."

"Fuck you, mutant assholes!" The lead thug said before firing his weapon at them, making Logan throw his drink up in the air before the weapon hit the water tower, making a big hole in it before its water came out.

Laura, who drew her 2 hand claws and Jubilee, who retracted own vampire claws, made of adamantium from a procedure she'd forcefully undergone years ago, while also showing her fangs, roared out as the A.I.M thugs cloaked themselves to get the drop on them. But Laura and Jubilee, thanks to their heightened senses, particularly their sense of smell, slashed 2 of them dead before tracking the others and Laura stabbed 1 of them in the heart while Jubilee slashed another thug's throat open, making blood flood his suit before he fell dead to the floor.

"Laura! Jubilee! Logan!" Asano called out for his friends as the last thug was dragging him to the edge of the roof before jumping down with him.

Logan ran and jumped down and, thanks to his metal bones, caught up with Asano and grabbed his hand before drawing out his claws in his other hand and using them to slow his fall by stabbing the building before they landed safely on the ground, though the last thug didn't, as the impact killed him as Logan sheathed his claws and caught his beer.

Laura and Jubilee jumped from the roof and landed on their feet without much injury at all. "So, Asano, what's up? Why are you here now?" Laura asked.

"And I know it's not just for a social visit." Jubilee added, making Asano smile.

A bit later, in a bar

"Here we are. It's been 10 years, Logan, and you haven't aged a day, same with you and Jubilee, Laura." Asano said while cleaning his glasses.

"Well, you'd expect nothing less from 2 mutants like us and a vampire, Asano. So, what's the deal with the visit?"

Asano put his glasses back on and got out his mini laptop his agency had, turning it on. "There's something I need to show you all." He said before bringing up an image of Mariko.

Logan's, Laura's and Jubilee's eyes widened when they saw her image. "Mariko." Logan breathed out.

"I came to New York to find you, Logan, to tell you where she is." Asano explained.

"We were happy, and she was ripped away from me, Laura and Jubilee." Logan said with barely controlled anger.

"Asano, tell us who took her." Laura said while barely restraining herself.

Asano brought up some more images on his device and explained. "The Kuzuryu, the mythical 9 headed dragon. Japan's most vicious gang and leading clans in the Yakuza. They get most of their backing from Advanced Idea Mechanics. In return, A.I.M. uses them to fundle money and weapons throughout all of Asia. And this is the man behind it all. Kuzuryu's leader: Shingen. He's not the type who sits back and watches and he enjoys getting a taste of the action. He's a master swordsman and not afraid to get his hands dirty. And…Mariko is his only daughter."

"His daughter?!" Laura asked with surprise. "There's no way a heartless bastard Shingen could be Mariko's father."

"Unfortunately, Laura, it's true. She is his daughter. But she never wanted anything to do with the life her father led and tried with all her might to escape it."

"And I'm guessing that Daddy didn't like that and had her kidnapped just to get her back in that life? That…fucking…bastard!" Jubilee said with anger at Shingen for forcing his only daughter back into a life of organized crime, a life she didn't want and wanted to escape.

"I can't begin to imagine how you all must feel right now. But we've been tracking Shingen's movements for quite a while. The Public Security Agency has been trying to compile enough evidence to finally arrest him. They're hoping it'll finally bring down the Kuzuryu for good." Asano explained.

But Logan wanted to know 1 thing. "Tell me, where is Mariko?"

"There's more." Asano said before showing them another image of a man with glasses surrounded by women. "She's about to get married. Or rather she's being forced to get married to him: Hideki Kurohagi."

"What?!" Jubilee asked with anger.

"That little asshole looks every bit like someone who lets goons do all the work while he hides like a fucking coward. I can tell that about him at a glance." Laura added as she looked at Kurohagi's image.

"That's definitely true. You could say that Kurohagi inherited his own crime syndicate. On an isolated island called Madripoor. Hadeki's father owned the island until he died under suspicious circumstances." Asano explained.

"Or that slime of a cockroach killed him just to take over ownership of the island and the crime syndicate." Laura theorized.

"Yes, that's what we think. The island itself is a sovereign state, but also an island full of criminal activity thanks to Kurohagi. He lives above it all in his fortified skyscraper. And while he is a coward, he's as vicious as Shingen. And that's saying a lot in a country full of criminals. And from word on the street, your theory about Hadeki being responsible for his father's death is widely accepted, Laura."

"Please. In most criminal families on this damn planet, that's exactly what happens. The son or daughter wants more power and money and sometimes kills his or her parents to get it all. No honor amongst thieves, as they say." Laura said with a smirk.

"Even so, this arranged marriage means that Shingen gets a new crime base and Hadeki gets tons of funding. That's why poor Mariko got kidnapped. They're forcing her into this by putting her in the middle of it all." Asano said with sympathy for Mariko being a bargaining chip for money and power. "She's being held in her father's Tokyo compound."

That made Logan stand up. "Then I'm off to Tokyo."

"You know we're going with you, Logan." Laura said with determination to free Mariko. "Mariko's become the mother Jubilee and I always wanted and she's shown and given us all the affection of 1. And for her to be treated like someone's property, especially by her own father, is unforgivable!"

"Damn right. And for that, Shingen, if possible, gets arrested, or we'll have his head. Him and that slimy little cockroach." Jubilee added with equal determination.

But Asano explained to them something else that they would definitely wanna hear. "You're welcome to kill Kurohagi if you can, but Shingen, you'll have to get in line. 'Cause there's 2 people in Japan you're gonna wanna know about."

"Yeah? Who?" Logan asked.

"Well, 2 women, to be more specific, with the same powers you and Laura have."

"2 more mutants like Logan and me? I never thought there were any mutants out there with the same powers as us." Laura said with surprise. "Are they from Japan?"

"Yeah. Their names are Akira and Yukio. They've got the same healing factor as you guys, but different weapons that come out: katana swords, which they're very skilled and deadly at. At 1st it was only Akira I worried about, but I heard about Yukio a year after. They're mercenaries, but they only kill for clients that want the lowest scum of the Earth dead. At 1st Akira only worked alone and gained quite the rep in Japan, but since she started working with Yukio, they've become even more deadly and are starting to build up an international rep." Asano informed them, thinking that his friends should know about Akira and Yukio.

"They friends of yours too, Asano?" Jubilee asked with interest.

"No, not exactly. I only met with Akira a few times. And 1 of those times, the agency stole 1 of Akira's targets that was worth 8 million dollars and obviously she wasn't happy with that. So, in order to compensate her for it, I offered her the same amount of money for a different target."

"Who?" Logan asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Oh, you're really gonna be surprised now, old friend. The target I put her on was in Saitama at the time, and you were with Mariko in New York. I didn't wanna disturb your happiness, so I got in contact with Akira instead. She was the only 1 could have gotten to the target and actually fought him and survived and after I told her I'd compensate for stealing her last target, she reluctantly accepted the job."

"Just tell us who the target was, Asano." Laura told him.

Asano sighed before telling them. "It was Victor Creed."

Logan became shocked when he heard that name. "Sabertooth?! He was in Japan?!"

"Yeah. He was on the hunt for you, but it was really Akira he was following while going on a killing spree and he just didn't know it until he met her in a bar. They fought, and remarkably she won, Creed got captured and shipped outta the country. I went to Akira, paid her for the job, and after informing her about Yukio, I've never directly contacted her again due to her wanting to be left alone. But it wasn't long after that I heard Akira got herself a partner, which I knew for sure was Yukio. And, being a man of my word, I've left them alone."

Logan, Laura and Jubilee were very shocked to hear this. "You're saying that this Akira actually beat Sabertooth and lived to tell about it?" Laura asked. "That's incredible. No 1 but Logan and I have ever done that."

"Well, her training in swordsmanship and her mutant powers certainly helped her out. And I can tell you that Creed was really pissed off. Now he wants Akira as 1 of his next meals, last I heard. If it weren't for my agency arriving, there's no doubt in my mind that, given the 1st opening she got, she definitely would have taken his head off."

"Where's Creed now? Is he still in a prison somewhere? Please tell me he is." Logan asked, wanting to know if his eternal rival was still captured.

"Unfortunately…he's not. 2 years after Akira fought him, he found a way out and took it. Since then, no 1 knows where he is now. But you of all people know how elusive Creed can be when he doesn't wanna be found." Asano regretfully answered.

"Still. This Akira seems like she could be a great ally, if we can find her. And this Yukio too." Laura said, impressed with Akira for actually beating Sabertooth and living to tell about it.

"Good luck with that, Laura. Akira's skilled and smart, but when it comes to trusting people, the only person I know of who qualifies is Yukio. She barely even trusts me as it is." Asano told her. "So, I would advise trying to focus on getting Mariko back and leave Akira and Yukio alone."

"Fine. Mariko is who we want anyway. But if he forces us, we'll kill Shingen to get her back and I don't give a damn if he's Mariko's father or about Akira and Yukio." Logan said before telling Laura and Jubilee. "If you both are coming with me, you do everything I say when I tell you to. Understand?"

"Yeah, we do. As long as we can get Mariko and bring her back home, nothing else matters right now." Laura answered, just wanted to get Mariko back.

"Same here, Logan." Jubilee answered while adjusting her pink glasses and trench coat. "We just want Mariko back home safely, and if we have to kill some people to do it, that'll just be a bonus."

"Then let's go." Logan said before they walked with Asano out of the bar and to the airport, where they boarded a plane to Tokyo. And all the while, Logan thought about nothing but Mariko and all the times they were together. 'We're on our way, Mariko. I swear we'll find you and we'll be together again.'

And on the way, Laura and Jubilee thought about the last time they were with Mariko.

Flashback, 2 years ago in Paris

Laura and Jubilee were standing on the Eiffel Tower, thinking about things from their respective pasts when Mariko walked up to them. "Laura. Jubilee, what's wrong, sweethearts?"

"We were just…thinking about…our pasts." Laura answered. "It just…can't escape me. No matter how much I try to forget it."

"Same here. Especially how I became…this…fuckin'... creature!" Jubilee added, as she really hated being a vampire, even though she didn't share the typical weaknesses of them, except the bloodthirst.

Mariko took their hands and said to them like a mother would her children. "Oh, my sweethearts, I can't even begin to imagine what your pasts were like, but I do know this: it's not your origins that define you, but your actions here and now. You help innocent people wherever and whenever they're in danger. Not because it's easy, but because it's right, and you both know it is. This world may fear and hate you, but you do have friends that care for you and love you, especially Logan… and me." Then she put their hands together so they touched each other in affection and love. "And…you have each other…and I know it's more than just friendship. Embrace the feelings you have for each other and don't let fear hold you back. Once you do that, and bury the ghosts of your pasts, then you can do anything together."

"Do you…really believe that, Mariko." Jubilee asked with hope, as Mariko had always been someone who she could consult in her darkest days, same with Laura and Logan.

"I always have. Ever since I met you both." Mariko answered with a motherly smile, making both Laura and Jubilee hug her gently with love and affection.

Flashback end

15 hours and 10 minutes later, in Tokyo, Japan

After they'd gotten to Tokyo and made their way to Shingen's compound, Logan told Laura and Jubilee to remain with Asano and the other agents, much to their annoyance, as they really wanted to help get Mariko back and that they knew Shingen would obviously have goons or something else to back him up. But reluctantly, they obeyed and stayed with Asano while Logan was casually walking by the compound's gate, with guards and an agent from behind a tree across the street watching him as he continued walking.

"Why is Logan just walking by the front gate?" The agent asked his companions in the surveillance van a block away.

Meanwhile, in the van

"What do we do?" The agent in the passenger seat asked Asano.

"Well, circumstances may call for not exactly handling this 1 by the book." Asano answered. "For now, Logan's running the show."

"He should have let us go with him. We could have gotten Mariko out of there in just minutes and that Shingen bastard would be in your custody, or his head would be laying at your feet by now." Laura said with annoyance. "And so would that slimy little cockroach."

Jubilee held her girlfriend's shoulders and calmed her. "Laura, easy, baby. Logan knows what he's doing. And if something does go wrong, then we'll storm the place and slice up every goon we see."

But then, they heard the outside agent. "I've lost him. He might have gone over the wall."

"Typical." Asano said knowingly.

"This is not good." The other agent said with a bit of fear.

Laura clenched her first, her claws ready to come out. "I don't like this."

"Me neither, Laura, but we gotta trust Logan." Jubilee said with worry.

'Don't blow this thing, Logan.' Asano thought to himself.

"I've hacked into the perimeter views from their security system." The female agent said, bringing up images from the compound security cameras.

Meanwhile

Logan expertly jumped over the wall and sneaked into the compound garden while avoiding the cameras before he hid behind a stone near the fountain. And after a few more seconds, saw Mariko, the love of his life, come out of the home, making his eyes widen. 'Mariko! So she is here.'

But inside the house, Shingen himself, who was meditating, sensed something was wrong and got to his feet before grabbing his katanas and heading outside in front of his daughter.

"Yes, father?" Mariko asked.

Logan glared with anger at seeing the old man. 'Shingen!'

"Is everything okay, Sir?" 1 of Shingen's goons asked, a few more with him.

Shingen then spoke like a samurai of old. "They say the eyes can sometimes deceive, but a clear mind sees all." Before throwing 1 of his swords at exactly the place where Logan hid himself, making him quickly dodge the blade and revealing himself.

Mariko gasped at seeing the man she loved again. "Logan!"

"Kill him." 1 of the goons said as he and the others got out their guns and pointed them at the mutant.

Meanwhile, in the van

"Welcome to Tokyo. Hope you survive the experience, old friend." Asano said with worry for his mutant friend.

"Those goons aren't a problem, but Shingen himself is obviously in a whole different league." Laura said with worry as just by looking at Shingen, she could tell he would be a different challenge for her 'father'.

"Definitely." Jubilee said in agreement. "And just by looking at him, I can tell he's everything you said he was, Asano."

"I know you probably already know the answer, but can you hear what they're saying!" Asano asked.

"Yes. We both can." Laura answered.

Back with Logan

"Logan. Or should I call you Wolverine?" Shingen asked with delight, as he'd heard about the clawed mutant and his extraordinary reputation as a warrior.

"Well, guess my reputation precedes me." Logan said with a smile.

"So what can I do for you?" Shingen asked.

"I came to take Mariko home." Logan answered with anger at Shingen for what he did to his own daughter. "You had to kidnap your own daughter to get her to come back here. She's not a chess piece you can just move around the board. Mariko is her own person."

"She has a duty to her family, and she's been promised to another!" Shingen told him, making Mariko sadly lean her head down.

"That's your promise, not hers!" Logan countered.

But Shingen wanted to know something. "Tell me…are the rumers I've heard about you true?"

"Why don't you find out?" Logan challenged.

"RUN!" Mariko cried out to her lover.

"Take him down!" Shingen ordered his goons.

And as the goon fired their guns, Logan began to easily deal with them non-lethally by striking them all with hard blows, taking them all down in just a few seconds as they fell to the ground.

Shingen wasn't really surprised. "As I expected."

Logan took a few steps after calming himself. "Let's get outta here, Mariko." He said, ready to leave with the love of his life.

"Logan." Mariko said, so tempted to just run into his arms and leave her father and his criminal life for good.

But Shingen had another idea. "You and me." He challenged.

"Why should I?" Logan asked, wanting to just take Mariko and leave.

More of Shingen's goons, with guns and blades drawn, came up behind him as their leader answered. "Fight me and win, and you can have her."

Logan accepted that. "I'll win, and you'll never see or come anywhere near her again." He said, stating his condition if he won.

"Acceptable…if you win our duel." Shingen accepted before they all went inside to prepare.

Meanwhile

"Shingen just challenged Logan to a duel for Mariko's future. And Logan accepted." Laura informed the agents.

"Fuck! This is bad! Logan's 1 of the greatest fighters in the world, but a master swordsman he isn't." Jubilee added with worry, as she and Laura both knew that Logan, while a great fighter, wasn't a master swordsman.

"They've gone inside. That means we can't see them, even with infrared cameras." The female agent said.

"This isn't good. I told him to stay outside. We can't know what Shingen's up to in there. At this rate, we're gonna have to make a move." Asano said. "We can't let Shingen slip through our fingers again."

"We're the only ones who're going in there if anything goes wrong, Asano." Jubilee told him. "We're not having you or any of your agents die tonight. We've lost enough friends in our lifetime, we're not losing you too."

"Damn right! Logan would say the same thing!" Laura added after her girlfriend.

Meanwhile, inside the compound

Logan and Shingen were prepared to duel with practice swords, with Logan having taken off his shoes, soaks and jacket before being given his and Shingen's being black advanced before the duel began.

Logan rushed to Shingen and tried to land some hits that the master swordsman easily dodged and blocked before landing a precise hit through the mutant's practice sword and right into his neck that sent him falling on his back to the floor before blood squirted out of his wound!

"Logan!" Mariko cried out for her lover.

Logan struggled to get back up. "I see the stories…are true about your sword skills." He said before his wound healed, which Shingen took note of before the duel resumed, with Logan trying to hit Shingen, only for him to land more hard and precise blows to his left hip, his right arm and then right on his forehead, sending him back down to the floor with a cut so deep a small part of his adamantium skull showed!

But Logan still got back up as his wound healed despite the blood dripping from the wound and tried to rush at Shingen again, only for the master swordsman to land a blow on the left side of his face, a stab blow on his abdomen before Shingen rushed to Logan and landed a few more hits on him until he focused his chi and slashed, creating a wind attack that made Logan rise his eyes before it hit him head on and cut open his abdomen, making more of his blood squirt out!

"LOGAN!" Mariko cried out.

Logan growled before the slashed wound healed in just a few seconds and he looked at his enemy. "All right. Playtime is over, bub." He said before he then tried attacking again.

But Shingen blocked his attacks while landing another hit on the right side of Logan's face while saying with evil. "You don't have a chance to win this duel! You'll never possess what's mine!" He said, referring to his own daughter as she was nothing more than his property as he threw Logan outside of the house, breaking 1 of the sliding doors as he did so!

But Logan wouldn't give up, as unlike Shingen, he saw Mariko as a person and not some piece of property to be married off for money and power or an island hellhole for criminals. "Damn it! You don't own her!" He yelled out before running back inside and clashing with Shingen again until they got into a blade lock. "I'm not gonna let you win!" He said through gritted teeth.

But as it seemed like a stalemate, Logan was suddenly shot in the back with a dart that injected a purple liquid into his system, making his vision begin to blur before he fell to his knees.

"Just a little sample from A.I.M,s chemical warfare division." The man named Hedaki Kurohagi said smugly as walking up to Logan. "It's quite effective. That drug has a nasty way of paralyzing the nervous system almost immediately."

Logan looked at him and immediately recognized him from the picture Asano showed him. "You son of a…"

"Your mutant philology causes the drug to metabolize faster than normal." Kurohagi explained with the smile of a snake.

Mariko stood up and yelled. "How could you?! That's not fair!"

"Not fair? Mariko-san, your old boyfriend just tried to perforate your father." Kurohagi said with an evil smile.

It was then that Logan, almost unleashing his animalistic rage, brought out his claws and roared out. "RRRRAAAAHHHHH!"

Meanwhile

Laura, Jubilee and the agents heard Logan roar out and knew what it meant. "Something's gone wrong in there!" Laura said before drawing out her claws. "I'm going in!"

"Wait, Laura, we don't know what's going on in there." Asano said, trying to stop Laura before she did something potentially stupid. "Let's just wait until we can get a chance to find out exactly what's going on in there."

"I think I've waited long enough, Asano! I never should have stayed here in the 1st place. I told Logan not to go without us!" Laura countered.

"Laura's right. If that bastard Shingen and that little cockroach did prepare for Logan coming after them, we need to help him, right now!" Jubilee added after her girlfriend and lover while retracting her own claws.

"But what about Mariko? If you start going in there and start hacking and slashing, there's a strong possibility that she'll get caught in the crossfire, and what you guys and he came here for will have been for nothing but another funeral for Mariko. Please, just wait, at least to keep Mariko alive. That's what she'd want." Asano pleaded with his friends, making Laura and Jubilee growl as they looked at the direction of the compound in anger and helplessness.

Back with Logan

"You're Akira, right? The 1 who fought with Creed and actually beat him?" Logan asked before grinning. "Gotta say, if you can beat Creed and survive to tell about it, you gotta be extremely skilled."

"Thanks, I guess." Akira said seriously. "Though I doubt I've seen the last of him."

"And you're fortunate enough to have that healing factor, even though with that adamantium skeleton, it's slower than it should be. No normal human can survive a dose of poison that massive or the beating you took." Yukio added. "But, like us, you're not exactly human, aren't you, Logan?"

How do you 2 know so much about me?" Logan asked with a glare.

"How could we not, Wolverine? We've kept an eye on you, Laura and Jubilee ever since you got here. And we know about Mariko Yashida and her arranged marriage to that cockroach Kurohagi." Akira explained.

"They've offered to help us, Logan. They're after Shingen too, but for their own personal reasons." Laura explained.

"It was exactly easy, considering we had to fight them before we managed to reach the point where we could engage in conversation." Jubilee added after her girlfriend. "We said we'd help them accomplish their goal in exchange for helping us free Mariko, but told them that you'd have the final say in the decision."

Logan thought about what Laura and Jubilee said before remembering that Asano told them that Akira and Yukio were also after Shingen. And they did just save his life last night, so after thinking it over, Logan gave his answer. "We'll help you get Shingen, you help us get Mariko and we'll be even for you savin' me. Got it, ladies?" He asked before getting up and getting his jacket.

"We do." Yukio answered.

"And, Logan, looking for this?" Akira asked while holding a device that Wolverine used mainly for contacting the other X-Men or computer research and getting addresses for people he wanted to find. "And just so you know, I cracked the password on your little device."

"You crack it or did Laura tell you what it is?" Logan asked with a growl.

"You have to be a real dumbass. Using your name for a password." Akira answered before throwing the device to Logan with her index and middle fingers. "It was my 2nd guess."

"Yeah? Well, at least I didn't use my birth name." Logan said.

"Yeah, she tried that 1st." Yukio said with a smirk.

"Computer, I need an address for…"

"Asano?" Akira asked knowingly.

"How the hell did you know?" Laura asked before taking a sip of water.

"He's the 1 who brought you to Tokyo. And he is possibly your only local friend here. It only makes sense that you'd call him up." Yukio answered.

"You 2 are real smart asses, aren't you?" Jubilee asked sarcastically.

"That a problem, Jubilee?" Akira asked with a smirk.

"No. It's just that he told us that you and him weren't exactly friends like he is with Logan and us." Laura answered with a glare.

"Damn right, Laura. But, at the very least, we'll take you to his office, if that's where you want to go next for our next move." Yukio said with a smirk.

"Then do it." Logan told them.

Later on

Laura rang Asano's bell 3 times but got no answer. "That's odd. Why wouldn't he be home when his car's parked right out front?" She asked with confusion.

Jubilee then smelled something in the air. "Hold on."

"What is it?" Yukio asked with a raised eyebrow.

"I smell blood."

"Me too." Logan said.

Laura broke the lock with her right claws before opening the door. "I can smell it too. And it smells like the scent's been flowing through the air here for hours."

They went inside and Logan noticed that the door to his left was ajar before he slowly opened it and saw Asano sitting at his desk. "Asano?" He asked before looking closely and seeing blood at the place where his heart was, making his eyes widen. "Asano! Asano!"

They went into the office and Logan gently put Asano's body on the floor. "No. No. No. No." Laura said with shock as Asano's badge dropped out his coat and split in half.

Akira and Yukio inspected his wound and informed them. "The blade went straight through his heart. He must've died instantly."

Jubilee growled and vowed. "Whoever did this is going to fuckin' pay!"

But that was when the local cops arrived and pointed their guns at them all. "Freeze, scum!" 1 officer ordered them. "Get up, all of you and keep your hands where we can see them!"

"Fuck. Someone's set us up." Akira said with annoyance at being framed.

"Damn right, baby." Yukio said.

"Don't move!" The other officer told them.

"You got the wrong people, cops. But you guys ain't gonna take our words for it, huh?" Jubilee asked while rolling her eyes.

Laura then swiped the officers into the wall, stunning them enough to knock them out before Jubilee used her speed to spin out of the office and pushed another cop back, allowing Yukio and Akira to flip in front of them as Akira easily kicked the last cop down before they used great reflexes to spin around before running towards the elevator as it came up with some of Shingen's and Kurohagi's goons, who got out their weapons.

"1st the cops, now the friggin goon squad." Logan said.

"Good. This means we don't have to waste time wearing kid gloves." Akira said before she brought out her right sword and began to easily slice up the goons, killing some of them before they could attack.

Laura and Jubilee smiled at each other and brought out their respective claws before they joined Akira, same with Logan as Yukio used 2 of her Chakrams to deal with some of the goons, disarming them 1st before slicing them all up before Logan, Laura and Jubilee cut open a hole big enough to jump out of in the wall with their claws before they Logan landed hard on a cop car while Laura and Jubilee landed on the ground.

"Kinda makes you wonder how everyone knew that we were there." Logan said while wondering how the cops and goons knew that they were at Asano's place.

Yukio and Akira landed as well before the short haired mutant said. "I'm guessing that the surprise party was arranged by the same person who murdered your friend."

But that was when Akira heard a laugh from a very familiar voice on the other rooftop in front of them. "Hahahahahahaha. Hahahahahahahaha."

"No. It can't be." Akira breathed out before looking up and seeing a very familiar man she knew all too well: Kikyo Mikage.

But Kikyo wasn't alone, as a very familiar mutant was standing beside him, a mutant who Logan hated with every fiber of his being: Victor Creed, aka Sabertooth. "Ah, hey, runt. Been a while. Oh, and you even brought your little DNA spawn and her bloodsucking whore." He said before seeing Akira. "Ahhh, and the rat's even here too, with another rodent, huh? Oh, this just made my day!"

Kikyo opened his eyes and saw the person he'd anticipated he'd see the last 6 years. "Akira. We meet again at last. Just as you said we would. I've waited for this day for 6 years." He said in his usual calm tone before he slowly brought out his sword.

"Another 1?" Laura asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Yes. His name's Kikyo Mikage. He studied swordsmanship with Akira under the same master since they were children." Yukio explained, as Akira had told her all about Kikyo and her last with him.

"Oh, that right?" Jubilee asked.

"What the hell are you doing here, Creed. It's a long way to go for my birthday!" Logan demanded from his seemingly eternal rival.

"Oh, I decided to surprise you, Runt. But I didn't expect the Rat would be here. This really is my lucky day." Sabertooth said with sadistic delight as he retracted his claws, as he thought he could pay Akira back for the last time they met.

"Back off, animal, fight Wolverine if you want, but Akira…is all mine!" Kikyo said before jumping down from the rooftop to finally have the rematch he desired for the last 6 years.

Akira brought out her own sword and said with her usual calm tone as well. "So be it, Kikyo."

"Akira." Yukio said with concern for her lover.

"Stay out of this 1, Yukio. This is between him and me." Akira told her girlfriend.

Sabertooth was a bit annoyed but went along with it for the time being. "Settle your business with the Rat, Mikage, and I'll settle mine with the Runt, his DNA spawn and her bloodsucking little WHORE!" He yelled before jumping down the roof himself, eager and delighted to fight Wolverine, along with X-23 and, in his eyes, her bloodsucking dike.

Logan, Laura and Jubilee growled and drew their claws to fight with Sabertooth. "RRRAAHHHH! BRING IT, CREED!" They said together.
