Breaking Traditions-Part 29:

A couple of days after Cygnus had visited and Druella arrived at the Manor wanting to speak to Lucius and Narcissa.

"Yes you can… but we want Priscilla here," Narcissa said, "She won't be in the room so you can go and sit in the sunroom and an elf will come and get you when we're ready," she said.

Druella did as she was told for once and headed to the sunroom.

"We need her in the parlor with us," Lucius said, "I will not allow you in that room with only me as back up."

"Your mother will be in the room, hidden in the shadows," Narcissa smirked before grabbing some Floo Powder and threw it into the fireplace and then knelt on the rug before seeing her mother-in-law's face appear.

"Cissa?" Priscilla asked, "is everything OK?"

"My mother is here and wants to talk but Lucius and I would rather you be here silent and in the shadows if she tries anything," Narcissa said, "Lucius and I might not be able to react and you've always been good at the watching and listening. Are you free now?"

"Move back and I'll come through," Priscilla said before seconds later appearing in the parlor, "I know exactly where to hide myself. Send an elf." Lucius nodded before sending an elf to go and get Druella and Narcissa poured the tea as an uneasy silence fell on the room.

"I will not apologise for revealing the shambles of adoption plans to the public like that," Druella said, "it would have come out eventually and I just… hurried it along," she said before sipping her tea as she watched to see how the couple would react.

"Mother that is not the point at all," Narcissa said, "it was up to Lucius and myself when the information was disclosed to our friends and extended family. You stole that from us and that is something that we can now never get back. I will never forgive you for that and you will have as little as possible to do with Baby Rosalie when she arrives. She doesn't deserve to be around you."

Lucius looked quickly towards the corner where his mother was hidden. He shook his head slightly as he could see her with her hand wrapped around her wand. They had the situation under control for now luckily but he could see Druella was trying to get a reaction out of her daughter.

"What was the plan mother?" Narcissa asked as she looked at her mother, "alienate us? Make people shun us?" she asked as her attention kept on her mother. The last thing she wanted was Priscilla to be discovered. Her mother-in-law was only there as a witness but both Lucius and Narcissa knew that there may well be a duel taking place. Priscilla had had enough of her opposition's games and sneakiness.

"Well yes really. You deserve to be shunned for what you are doing. Adopting a child is never allowed in our society," Druella said, "if it was then Cygnus would have had his heir instead of one daughter who was devoted to her master, a blood traitor and then one who thinks they can change the way of the world by adopting. I really do not understand why Cygnus is supporting your crazy and rather deranged idea."

"Well he and my parents aren't the only supporters we have," Lucius said as he looked at his mother-in-law, "Helena and Harold Greengrass do and Draco is still to marry Astoria, and also some of the parents who listened to us explain why we were adopting also support us. So really you did it all for nothing because we have more support than you have wanted us to."

Druella remained silent as she sipped her tea. Her mind was racing to try and come up with another plan to ruin the adoption plans.

"So they're really going to let an ex-Death Eater adopt a child?" she smirked full well knowing that Lucius and Narcissa had hated being caught up in that and that it was something she'd expected to have stopped them.

At the mention of that Narcissa had to be restrained by Lucius and there was a smirk on Druella's face.

"That life was forced on us and we had very little choice in what happened back then!" Lucius said, "you have no right to bring up something that we were forced into," he said as he looked at his mother-in-law, "that has all been looked into and not been held against us."

"Anyway we were found not guilty in everything so yes. They are letting us adopt and that is the end of it," Narcissa said, "and you will need to change your views because, as I said before, if you don't then you may never see your granddaughter and that would be a shame," she said before freezing as Druella had her wand pointed at her.

"That child will be taken away from you. I will make sure of it," she smirked before Narcissa screamed as Priscilla had revealed herself, wand drawn and pointed at her opposite number.

"You dare do anything Druella and I will make sure people know the truth about who your parents are," Priscilla said before Lucius pulled Narcissa close to him as spells began to fly.

Suddenly another scream could be heard as one of Druella's hexes hit Narcissa.

"Get her out of here Lucius!" Priscilla yelled at her son before seeing him apparating away with his unconscious wife, "you leave Narcissa out of this!" she spat before sending a series of hexes at Druella, barely giving the other witch time to react to the hexes that were being blasted her way.

Spells and hexes continued to be shot before Priscilla finally blasted Druella backwards and then the witch raised her hands in defeat.

"Now get out of here and do not come back," Priscilla said, "I can be even worse that this," she smirked before watching as Druella apparated away from the scene and the witch made a note to remind Lucius to alter the wards so Druella couldn't get back into the manor easily. She then remembered that Narcissa had been hit and hurried to the master bedroom to see how her daughter-in-law was… hoping that Narcissa hadn't been hurt too badly or else she would hunt Druella down and make her pay for everything she'd done to hurt Narcissa because she loved her like she was her own daughter and she always would do.
