Hey there everyone, just wanted to make a quick update on the current state of both Overwatch (Retelling) and The Tales of Overwatch regarding recent news of the game itself. But first I'd like to reminisce a little and go back to the start and end off with that's to come.

On November 1st of 2019, Blizzard dropped the cinematic trailer, Zero Hour. This was supposed to act as the initial trailer to Overwatch 2. This was accompanied by the first bit of gameplay for the PvE mode of Overwatch 2, showing off more of the games world and showcasing an attack from Null Sector. Needless to say, many of us including myself were hyped for the release of the sequel and were looking forward to the new "Story Mode" of the game.

We wouldn't hear anything else about the game until over three years later on the 12th of June, 2022 when the game would get its release date reveal of October 4th, 2022 along with the reveal of the Junker Queen. We would also be told that the game would be becoming a free-to-play title.

The day arrives and Overwatch 2 is finally released to the public, though the PvE mode was not available. This was stated to be released some time in 2023. Though some fans were a little upset about it, we were content with waiting for the day it would arrive the following year.

However as of writing this little bit, about five days ago, Blizzard showed off the roadmap for the future of Overwatch, and the unfortunate news came to hit us like a ton of bricks. The long awaited PvE mode that was announced nearly four years ago was ultimately cancelled. Needless to say, many fans were outraged by this announcement, and from what I've heard, some people are even saying that the PvE was the sole reason for the 2 in Overwatch 2, a sentiment that honestly, I can agree with.

So that brings us to today. What is the current state of my two stories now that the PvE has been scrapped. Well quite frankly, nothing has changed and in fact this announcement makes me want to write even more just to get a story that the company is holding back from us. Now I want to stress this by saying, I'm not a professional author. Mistakes will be made when writing this and some detail of characters and locations may get overlooked, but I want to write us something that will let us see into the world of this IP that we love, the characters we love, and what a storyline for this game can possibly be.

I like to thank a fanfiction member by the name of Rarecasionul for asking me this question, and I'd like to thank all of you who has given both of my stories a chance and a read, and though my stories are still small and relatively new, your support continues to let them grow.

So now I'd like to ask everyone just three questions regarding the future of the main story.

What're some things you'd like to see in this story? Whether that is certain character interactions, more solo chapters for certain characters or pairs of characters, or whatever comes to mind, just as long as it stays PG.

What're some things I can do to make the story better in regards to the writing style or structure. Something like maybe chapters from a character's personal point of view or would you rather I continue the structure of the story like that?

And lastly, What're your personal opinions on the future of Overwatch from the perspective of either a fan or a casual player?

I'd like to hear all your answers either in the chapter comments or in a PM, I'm always looking to improve, and I'd like to let all of you have a hand in making this world for these characters we love so dear. With that said, I'd like to thank all of you again for giving my story a read, and to giving me a little of your time for reading this message. You all have a wonderful evening and take care.

-Kris ;)
