Once Paul arrived at the hospital, he asked how Perry was doing. Even though Della had wanted to come with Paul, he told her it wasn't a good idea for her to see the condition Perry might be in.
"Keep me posted, Paul."
"You know I will, Della. Just whenever I hear something."
She was fine with that.
There were a few phone calls after Paul left, but she had to tell everybody who called wanted to speak with him, nobody knew about the accident that just happened with him. They might even have to wait and see the news for themselves if it will be announced on the news.
There were a few phone calls after Paul left, but she had to tell everybody who called wanted to speak with him, nobody knew about the accident that just happened with him. They might even have to wait and see the news for themselves if it will be announced on the news.
There was still no update from Paul, and Della got worried he might have had an accident himself on the way to the hospital. Paul and Perry had always been careful drivers, but why did this have to happen to Perry?
Paul spoke with Perry's doctor shortly after he parked his car in the parking lot. The doctor was able to make some time with Paul.
"Is he going to be all right?" Paul asked the doctor.
"I think so, but I can't promise anything, Paul," the doctor replied.
"I understand that, Dr. Could I take a look at him myself?"
"Follow me. Just don't disturb him to ask questions."
The doctor meant what he said, and Paul didn't want to start an argument with the doctor. He hoped Della wouldn't be starting to get worried about him if he never called for an update. So far Paul didn't want the clients to know about him hanging out in the hospital when Perry couldn't get on the phone himself.
"I will be back soon," the doctor told Paul.
"All right."
Then the doctor left.
Paul studied Perry for quite a while before saying anything.
"Good thing I told Della to stay at the office," he told himself.
Perry was still in no condition to do anything yet, but Paul was happy to see that he made it through the surgery.
"Perry, can you hear me?" Paul asked.
Perry was awake, but nodded his head.
"Good. How do you feel?" Paul asked.
"Just tired. How did I wind up here at the hospital?"
Paul figured out after hearing that question, he could tell Perry still wasn't aware of what happened with the car accident.
Paul told him.
Perry gave him a look.
"I don't understand what you're saying, Paul."
"An accident," Paul repeated.
"That means you don't remember what you were doing before this car accident happened?" Paul asked.
Perry shook his head.
"All I remember is I blacked out when it happened so fast. I can't answer any of your questions, Paul. How's Della doing?"
"She's fine, but worried about you like I am," Paul answered, "but I told her I would update her whenever I heard something. I'll do that when the doctor comes back."
"All right. Just giver her a hug for me."
"I will, Perry. I know she'll like that."
Note: I know I haven't posted anything new in this story lately, but after watching a bit of it last week gave me the idea to try finishing this story. I've been writing for myself lately besides working and reading.
