The stairs creaked as Grace walked up to them behind Morgan who was trailing Ginny to a decent-sized room towards the back of the house. Three cots lay on opposite sides of the room and the window shades had been thrown open revealing a dark and starry sky. "So, you're from America, what's it like there?" Ginny asked sinking easily down onto one of the beds, Morgan noticed her things had already been moved in. "It's loud, crazy, and, more often than not the most frustrating part of being American is America itself," Grace said as both demigods sat down on beds of their own, Morgan laying back against the mattress. "The boys are even more annoying than they are here if that is at all possible." Ginny laughed at Morgan's comment sarcastically asking, "please, who in your life is more annoying than Ron."
Morgan snorted a laugh her next words making Grace laugh as well, "how about someone who literally never shows up only ever shows his face when you straight-up track him down and trap him next to you." Grace knew about whom her friend spoke, her brother Nico Di Angelo who she hadn't seen in over three months. Ginny's jaw dropped, "who did that to you?" Morgan sat up to toss her wand into the air before catching it between two fingers and twirling it up, down, and over her hand.
"My ridiculously overprotective younger brother." Grace winced knowing her friend missed her brother dearly and that it was unlikely that she would see him again for some time. "So, what about you? Any stupid boys in your life?" Grace rolled her eyes to the ceiling saying, "gods of Olympus do I have stories for you." The rest of the night was spent laughing and telling stories of the stupid boys in their lives.
The next morning came far too quickly for Morgan's likings. The morning sun streamed through the shades they had forgotten to close while they talked late into the night. "Apollo you asshole!" She shouted out the window shielding her eyes from the sunlight. "Do you have no shame!" Grace groaned awake muttering, "language Morgan," as she rubbed her eyes and Ginny came through the door to the hallway. "Wake up sleepy heads it's nearly noon," Morgan opened her suitcase to look for a clean shirt grumbling. "You try waking up at what would be seven o'clock after talking till one and see if you feel like waking up." Ginny shrugged asking, "why were you shouting at the sun. You referred to it like it was the god Apollo," Morgan was glad she had her back to Ginny because she pulled a face quickly saying. "It's a running joke between me and Grace that we act like the gods are real so that we have someone instead of something to blame when stuff like this happens." From behind her Grace snapped, "Grace and I Morgan, how many times have I been through this."
Morgan rolled her eyes pulling out a blue Captain America t-shirt and throwing back the remark, "enough times where I have stopped listening." Tugging off her t-shirt she pulled on her other one swiftly tossing the other shirt into her suitcase and slamming it closed as she figured two days in the same jeans couldn't hurt. Turning away she saw Ginny standing, stunned behind her so she asked, "do I have something on my pants?"
The girl shook her head and Morgan smiled saying, "good because I believe that if I did your brothers would never let me hear the end of it." Pulling a small bronze hair clip out from the front pocket of her bag and twisting her hair up into a messy bun she saw that Ginny seemed to be struggling to say something. "Ginny do you want to say something if so, there are no worries just spit it out." Grace peered over her bed as Ginny said, "what happened to you?"
"What do you mean, I am just fine." Morgan asked a slight bit of confusion crossing her face as Ginny said, "I am asking about the four massive scars stretching across your back." Grace winced inwardly cursing, her friend and her alike bore many scars from the two wars in which they had fought. Morgan more than she did by far having nearly lost her life in both wars because she had been stupid enough to attack a titan armed only with her weapons and already drained powers. "They are leftover from a near demise at the hands of a werewolf, thankfully I was not bitten or my life would have become an actual living hell. But none the less it did almost result in my gruesome death."
Ginny's face went pale as she talked but Morgan came over wrapping an arm around the younger girl and saying. "But that was over a year ago and to me is not but a story for another day. Besides, I'm hungry and am more than anxious to try your mother's cooking. As everyone seemingly loves it." Gesturing to Grace she said, "last one down is the Minotaur's mum!" Before pulling her arm from around Ginny's shoulders and sprinted out the door. Vaulting over the stair railing and sliding down the banister with a massive grin on her face as Ginny and Grace raced after her cursing and shouting.
