"I'm sorry what now," Morgan looked blankly at the twins who had just said something completely beyond all reason. "Well, one of them started, "if you want to get onto the platform," then in unison, "you have to go through the barrier."
Morgan rolled her eyes saying, "if I die, I will come back and kick your asses." Grabbing her suitcase, she raced forward straight towards the very solid-looking metal barrier between platforms nine and ten.
She kept her eyes open and up even as the wall loomed, and she passed right through it. "See," one of the twins said as she shoved her suitcase onto one of the overhead racks and dropped into a seat. "What did we tell you," She rolled her eyes and slammed the compartment door in their faces turning to drawl. "Those two, I swear to the gods they are literally wizard Stolls."
Grace winced at the idea as the train pulled out of the station, and they both sat in the same compartment as several people came into the compartment.
Grace recognized half of the people who came in these being Harry and Ginny. The other two being a nervous-looking boy her age carrying a really strange-looking plant, and a girl with white-blonde hair and an airy look on her face. Morgan waved pinning her braid into a bun with her bronze pin.
"Hey, I'm Morgan," Grace smiled warmly moving to sit closer to the window as Ginny sat down beside her Harry sat in the seat beside Morgan who grinned up at the other boy saying. "You can sit I don't bite," the boy sat down as the blonde girl sat next to Ginny.
"This is Neville," Ginny said quickly making the introductions that needed to be made. "He's another Gryffindor in Harry's year, and this is Luna," she gestured to the girl beside her who was reading what Grace guessed was a wizard tabloid.
"She's a Ravenclaw in my year," Grace smiled her instincts telling her these two could be trusted. Morgan has begun twirling her wand in between her fingers again, downside to being demigods most were crazy ADHD. "So, you two are the transfer students from Ilvermorny?"
Neville asked fiddling with his plant, what was that thing anyway? "Yep," Morgan said popping the p and waving jokingly. "What's Hogwarts like," Grace asked the question that had been bouncing around her head for a while now. She still knew very little about the school itself.
"It's wonderful," Luna said lowering her magazine and smiling wistfully, "the four houses all have different dormitories and common rooms. I have only seen Ravenclaw's but I have heard great things about the other house's dormitories. But not from Slytherin, they don't really talk to anyone outside of their own house."
Ginny popped in saying, "that's 'cause they are all egotistical prats who couldn't understand a compliment even if one was bashed into their heads by a troll."
This made Morgan burst out laughing and say, "well then I really hope I am not put in Slytherin 'cause it doesn't sound like I could go five minutes without punching someone in the face." Grace rolled her eyes even if that was likely true and three people walked past their compartment stopping in front of the door. Ginny leaned back into her seat muttering, "speak of the devil."
The door slid open revealing a pale-faced boy with slicked-back platinum blonde hair. Morgan immediately disliked him before he even opened his mouth. "You two must be the transfers right," his tone made her fingers itch for her nunchucks even as she snapped back.
"What's it to you blondie," gray eyes locked with hers and she glared up at him not wavering until he did. "Nothing just trying to stop you from committing social suicide, with these blood traitors." This made Ginny go bright red with anger and even Neville said, "oh now you've done it now Malfoy."
Morgan rose to her feet allowing the smallest bit of her power to escape its bonds causing her eyes to smolder like golden flame and her voice was low and slow as she said, "I think you want to take that back." Malfoy met her gaze for only a moment before drawling, "no I don't think I will. After all Potter's got them all wrapped around his littlest finger, and with him running around saying the Dark Lord has returned he's best..."
CRUNCH! Morgan's fist came up in one hell of a punch that had Malfoy curled up on the floor clutching his nose. But everyone noticed that he looked immensely different than he did a few moments ago.
He looked, like a Weasley. His hair had turned a brilliant fiery red and his cheeks were littered with freckles. His robes which had been pure black were now worn and faded, but it was still undeniably him. Morgan smiled at her handiwork and at the broken nose leaking blood down the previously blonde prick's face.
Her wand was gripped in her left hand and she waved it, it looked like she closed the door with a spell when really, she just manipulated the gold of the handle to close it. She vaguely heard Malfoy shout, "my father will hear about this." In response, she made a vulgar gesture over her shoulder and dropped back into her seat yelling back, "shut it blondie before I make you look like a cyclops."
Grace hadn't cared much when Morgan had sassed back into Malfoy's ferret-like face, however when she punched him, she had struggled to contain her laughter at the look on the boy's face. As her friend sat back down, she saw Ginny grinning like a madwoman and Harry seemed like he was about burst into laughter.
Neville looked touched that she had defended someone she had barely met even as Morgan said angrily, "what a bloody prick." This made Ginny lose it laughing and soon all the wizards in the cabin were doubled over and Morgan only peered out the window asking, "Is there food on this train? I'm already pretty hungry." Harry nodded saying, "yeah, the trolley comes by about lunchtime."
Ginny was still giggling and Grace asked, "what's so funny." Ginny took a deep breath and managed to say, "he spent my whole first year teasing me about my, second-hand robes and books, and now he has exactly that." This made Morgan's face contort in anger and she muttered, "if I see that asshat again, I swear to all the gods I am going to put my foot somewhere it's not supposed to be."
Neville gave her a confused look asking, "what does that mean?" Grace spoke up saying, "firstly language Morgan. Secondly, she means she is going to kick him where the sun doesn't shine." This made Ginny grin again and made the boys wince at the idea.
"How'd you make him look like that?" Harry asked voicing a fair question so Morgan merely said, "it's a variation on a glamour charm. One that can only be undone by the caster," this made her smirk and chuckle as she finished, "if he wants to look normal again, he has to come begging to me."
This made Ginny start laughing again and Grace asked, "you will undo it if he asks right." Morgan spun her wand and said, "maybe," stretching out the word before finishing. "Depends on how he asks," Grace wrote something down on her parchment before flicking it to her friend who caught it as a kind-looking old witch stopped in front of their compartment.
Morgan flicked her wand and the door opened even if Grace knew she had just used her abilities again, her head bent over the parchment she had caught. "Anything from the trolley dears," the woman asked kindly as Morgan scribbled something down onto the parchment before asking. "What do you have," then she folded the parchment into a paper airplane and tossed it across the compartment.
The witch rattled off a list of strange-sounding candies and Grace only bought a few things when Morgan bought Ginny's things as well as her saying it was, "her gift for having such a wonderful sense of humor." Grace unfolded the parchment and read the Ancient Greek letters. "Yep," was all her friend had written in response to her question.
"Did you use the Mist," she tucked the parchment into her pocket before pulling the wrapper off of a Chocolate Frog and nearly dropping the candy in surprise when it jumped off the card. Catching it easily she asked, "enchantment?"
The rest of the ride was spent laughing joking and talking. Ron and Hermione came in not long after the food cart left and Grace and Morgan got a lot more information about the wizarding world as the sky grew dark and they pulled into a train station.
