- I need Mardon's address.

The Flash had shown up directly at the rogues' safe house number seven, where they had established their habitual residence, and had demanded to speak with Captain Boomerang, currently on leave after a short stint in Blackcage and a Suicide Squad enlistment record. Amanda Waller had decided to give in to Harkness's constant emotional blackmail and let him spend every weekend with the Rogues, on the condition that he show up when ordered to go no cheating, no fuss, calm and obedient, no is that The Captain had no choice. The Flash didn't like it at all when the US Government messed with their villains and established their government in Central City, especially since every time the military acted against the villains or against some meta, the matter usually ended badly. But after discussing it at length with Batman and Superman, who didn't give a damn about their villains, Flash had been debating whether to pay Waller a surprise visit and have Batman most likely kick him out of the League, or stay in the League and turn the blind eye with this whole Suicide Squad thing, which went against all his ethics and principles.

When Lisa returned from her conversation with Barry, she had found Mardon missing and rushed, she had sent a message to Barry. The Flash had come to Gotham, looking for him, but Mark, having spent so much time fighting him, knew what he had to do to keep a low profile and hide well enough so Flash couldn't find him. It was either that or he was dead, probably at the hands of the Joker. Or maybe he had told Hartley that he was going to Gotham and had actually gone to another city, so it would be harder to track him down. Unable to find Mark and not wanting to alert Batman that one of his villains had left Central City and was missing, Flash had resorted to his last resort: having Captain Boomerang try to find Mark using the Suicide Squad. And, of course, Captain Boomerang had refused, wanting to respect the privacy of his good friend.

"No," Harkness answered for the umpteenth time. "If Mark left Central City, it was because of you. I will respect my friend's decision."

-Please, George.-Flash took off his hood, showing all the rogues his face.-I need to find him.

Captain Boomerang was momentarily speechless. Removing the mask was a very serious matter and it made the situation personal. It meant that Flash trusted his villains enough to keep the secret. George looked around the room. Only Shawna and Bivolo seemed surprised, which meant the rest already knew. It was a consolation that at least he wasn't the last to know things, but if the boy Mark had been dating was Barry, that could only mean that the Flash had somehow harmed Mark. If there was one thing Harkness did not tolerate, it was harm to his friends.

- And what are your intentions with Mark, Flash, or should I say, Barry Allen?

George Harkness knew he was acting like a father was supposed to when someone was dating his daughter, but he didn't care. If there was one thing Harkness had learned from joining the Suicide Squad, it was the hypocrisy of heroes. No hero would save the villain from him, because they didn't care enough to fight for them, not even Flash, otherwise he wouldn't have allowed Project X to exist, since it undermined everything they were fighting for.

- I want to find him.-Allen seemed confused, as if he hadn't expected the answer.

Harkness looked to Jesse for help, but he just nodded, as if giving him permission to continue, probably too amused by the show, or because it was Harkness and not Snart who for once was putting the points on him. I's to Flash, or maybe Jesse was taking notes to figure out what to do with the next bastard who tried to date Axel and hurt him.

"The point is, Allen, that Mark doesn't want to be found," Harkness said. "What are you going to do when you find him? Beg him to return to Central City? Kiss him? Put on a show? Dragging him to Central City yourself against his will? Will you respect his wishes?" He saw Allen hesitate, so Boomerang decided to continue. "The thing is, Allen, I don't know if Mark is safe with you. Look, I know you mean well with the whole hero thing and saving Central City, but this is clearly not a game and we, your villains, are going to get hurt sooner or later. Who assures me that you will keep Mark safe? What are you not going to sell him to the military and he will be a member of the Suicide Squad?"

"I would never do that!" Allen said, indignant.

"Boomerang." Snart wanted Harkness to stop the conversation, but George wasn't going to. For the first time, Harkness would deliberately ignore an order from Captain Cold.

- The point is, Allen, that you are allowing it.-continued Harkness.-Every time we fight against you, we end up hurt, without profit, you taking the laurels and us on the list of the most wanted of the League and the Government. Well, this is over. No wonder Mark is gone. I don't rat on a partner. You can take me to Blackcage if you want.

Pain could be seen in Allen's hurt look, but Harkness didn't regret his decision. His freedom had been taken away, his earnings reduced, working for free, knowing that he was replaceable at any moment. Unbeknownst to anyone, George Harkness had secretly begun a relationship with the Squad's colonel, Rick Flag. Everyone in the Squad had begun to trust each other, to have each other's backs, realizing that it was the only way to survive. The members of the Squad were very close, so Harkness, upon learning of Mark's escape, had called the members of the Squad, in case anyone had seen him. None had noticed the Time Wizard in Gotham. Mark's whereabouts were unknown and that filled Harkness with terror, because he didn't want the fate of his friend to be what he had. But he had to trust Mark and his ability to survive. Mark wouldn't be found unless he showed up.

"I sincerely hope Mark isn't dead, Allen," Harkness said coldly.

- Harkness!-Cold interfered again.

"What's wrong, Snart?" Harkness asked defiantly. "I've only told the truth. If Mark has fled it will be for a reason."

In a second, Flash was gone. Snart fired at Harkness with the cold pistol, but Harkness had seen this coming for a while. He wasn't the same man he was before joining the Squad.

"I know you like Flash, Cold," Boomerang said. "But someone had to tell him the truth. None of us are safe as long as Project X is alive. We all know it, including you."
