Chapter 3: Frantic Froggy
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Harper's screams were all that could be heard as everyone stood at the edge of the deck in complete horror. Some were hoping this was just cruel prank Felix was playing and the real one would resurface. But after a few silent minutes, nothing resurfaced but a few more pieces of the motorboat around blood.
"No...nonononononononononononono..." Carla backed away into Cassy who hugged her.
"Yo...this has to be some kind of prank right?" Monty asked.
"No...it's not." Phillip said.
"That was a brave dog after all." Orville said.
"He was so excited for this plan." Patch said in a mono-tone voice.
Vanny came over the speakers again.
"NOW YOU FOOLS KNOW WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU TRY TO ESCAPE! TOMORROW, MY PLAN BEGINS! HOPE YOU'RE READY TO DIE!"
"FUCK YOU!" Roxy yelled.
"Roxy, calm down." Phillip said.
"CALM DOWN? WE'RE GONNA DIE PHILLIP! THERE'S NO TIME TO CALM DOWN!" Roxy argued.
"Look we...we just need to regroup at the dining room again." Phillip announced.
"I don't even think I can sleep the rest of the night." Horace said.
Harper had begun to cry and Patch hugged her.
"Come on Harper, let's get going."
Harper wasn't only crying about Felix's death, she was crying about her encounter with Vanny earlier as well. The group took one last look at what remained of Felix in the water before leaving the deck, trying to come to terms that they just lost a member. Once they gathered in the dining room, Phillip stood in front of all of them and began to pace back and forth.
"Okay...we're down one. Felix had an amazing plan, he could've actually made it back and alerted the Fazbear Crew, but alas, it wasn't meant to be. May Felix rest in peace."
They all had a moment of silence for Felix before Phillip continued.
"Vanny's little game starts tomorrow, and we have no idea what she's gonna throw at us. We just to be cautious of where we go, what we see, and every other move we make. There still must be other ways to get off this ship!" Phillip said.
"I'm just not ready to be fighting a bunch of unknown creatures that Vanny could have hiding around." Carla said.
"At least you won't be alone." Monty said.
"Monty's right, we need to try and stay together, or at least very close. If there's any trouble, we ALL need to be there to stop it." Phillip said.
The others did agree...but Roxy had another problem.
"Hey Phillip, should we also think about the possibility of a traitor?"
The others looked at her in surprise. Roxy looked at most of them like they were crazy ones.
"What? It's possible!" Roxy shrugged.
"Why would there be a traitor? We all want to leave!" Patch said.
"Yeah, I don't have time for shit like that." Cassy scoffed.
"Pft, are you sure about-ACK."
Carla angrily elbowed Roxy in the arm earning a growl with bared fangs but Carla only rolled her eyes. Horace however was intrigued.
"Oh, a traitor among us ey? Hehe, hey Orville, remember that time when we were kids and we played that very easy game of laserblast? I tell ya, I always had a hard time getting the darn target vest adjusted on me, they were always so lose. We also had so many crazy kids with us, we were like...like the most mature ones, haha. I tell ya, they made it pretty easy to eliminate, then again maybe we were just that good. Nah they were just really bad, I'm sure that was the reason. But we were champs, the kings, they even started calling us that, I felt so proud! I know you were too right?"
"Yes Horace, I do wish we could do that. But uh..."
Orville gestured to the others and the hippo saw everyone was staring at him, some amused by the story, some annoyed, and then there was Roxy who was ready to flip the whole table on him. Horace gulped.
"Oh uh...sorry. Please continue about the traitor Roxy." Horace said hoping calm her down.
Roxy's claws dug into the table as she angrily sighed.
"Anyways, one of us could be working with Vanny, may have had a talk with her already. Hell, they could've even..."
Roxy paused as her eyes landed on Harper who stared back surprised.
"Talked with her during the party..." Roxy finished.
The others hadn't noticed how intently Roxy was staring at Harper who gulped.
"How did she..." Harper was confused.
As it turns out, Roxy had noticed Harper leave while the wolf was playing. And when Harper came back, Roxy saw how worried and guilty she looked. Harper knew she really needed to watch out for Roxy now.
"I mean...it's possible." Patch shrugged.
"Possible? How? Why would any of us work with Vanny?" Phillip asked.
"The chance of freedom, survival, maybe even money!" Roxy said.
"We would never give in to that!" Carla said.
"We don't know for sure." Patch said.
"You too?" Cassy gasped.
"What? I'm just saying!" Patch said.
"But-"
"Smart pig." Roxy smirked.
This made Patch blush, but Monty objected.
"Roxy, there can't be traitor! I just don't believe it."
"Oh come on, you're usually the most paranoid, I know you're thinking the same thing!"
"I..."
Monty's tail drooped as he looked down, his shades sliding down as well. Roxy smirked triumphantly.
Harper looked around wondering if anybody else was looking at her, thankfully no one was...except Roxy who was back to staring at her. Phillip had went back to coming up with more plans while the wolf mouthed something to Harper who knew exactly what she was saying.
"You're dead..."
Harper gulped before looking down at the table, finally Cassy noticed what was going on and glared at Roxy who turned to her. The two rivals stared each other down for a good ten seconds before hearing Phillip clap his hands.
"So we're all in agreement?" Phillip asked.
"Yep!"
"Sure thing!"
"Very well!"
"Hell yeah!"
Harper, Cassy and Roxy looked in confusion as everyone began to get up from the large table.
"Wait...what now?" Cassy looked to Carla.
"We're gonna take turns guarding the rooms at night, and then we're gonna try to stick to one area of the ship during the day!" Carla said.
"Ah okay."
"Did you zone out again?" Carla teased.
"What no, just Roxy being a bitch." She whispered that last part.
"Ugh...of course. Look I'm sorry about her. She's always been like this ever since I joined the band years ago." Carla rolled her eyes.
"But why?"
"Rough upbringing I guess? She doesn't talk about it."
"Just...she needs to grow up! So I beat her in a race, big whoop!"
"You destroyed her perfect go-kart streak."
"So? What's the big deal?"
Carla looked around to see Roxy talking with Monty about something.
"She cares a LOT about being the best at everything, especially racing. It was the one thing besides performing that made her really happy. I always saw a big smile on her face whenever she was on the track, even I liked it. But ever since you decided to sign up for that race and beat her, she's gotten a little bitter. And then there's just the big ego she's had since she was born. Only Monty seems to be the one who can calm her down easily, those two are like siblings! Really annoying siblings, all I can say is...poor Phillip some days."
The chickens laughed. Speaking of those two, Roxy was talking to Monty about Harper.
"I should rough her up a bit, give her a good scare." Roxy hissed.
"Roxy, I doubt Harper wants anyone dead, you saw how distraught she was when Felix blew up."
"Could've been fake."
Monty pinched the bridge of his snout.
"Damn it Roxy, you need to relax, perhaps there is a traitor, but it can't be her."
"Then who?"
Monty looked at Patch, Orville and Horace in a corner talking, it looked like Horace was talking their ears off again.
"I bet it's that hippo."
"Him? He seems like a nice guy."
"Never trust the nice guys."
Monty was close to giving up, he was used to her anger issues, but they seemed that have increased ever since they got on the ship. Roxy then noticed Harper leaving the room, she growled.
"I'll be back."
"Roxy stop!"
"Back off gator!" Roxy warned baring her fangs at him.
Monty could only sigh as Roxy went to follow Harper while Phillip walked over to Monty.
"I'm telling you Phillip, she's getting worse." Monty sighed.
"I can see that, don't worry though, she'll be much better once we get off this ship."
Phillip took out his phone to see there was still no service. He sighed thinking of his cousins.
"Freddy, Fredrick, Golden, I hope you three are doing okay. Whatever Vanny's planning, we will stop it and find you." Phillip said.
Meanwhile, Harper needed to get some fresh air. She walked down the hall towards a corner before stopping and leaned against a wall.
"Too hot in there, need...to breathe..." She panted.
"Trying to be slick eh?"
Harper jumped when she saw Roxy storming towards her.
"Roxy!"
"Going somewhere froggy?" Roxy snarled.
Harper went wide-eyed before backing away.
"Wait Roxy, look I can explain."
"Yeah you can, explain why you're the TRAITOR!"
"AAHH!"
Roxy lunged quickly at Harper who zipped around the corner just in time. Harper knew there was no reasoning with her right now. She had to run!
"GET AWAY FROM ME!"
Harper raced down another hallway as fast her feet would let her! Roxy roared loudly before taking off after her.
"GET BACK HERE!"
"ROXY LEAVE ME ALONE! I'M NOT THE TRAITOR!"
"LIAR!"
Roxy caught up to Harper and raced next to her.
"You're not faster than me, GIVE UP!"
"NO! JUST STAY AWAY!"
Roxy extended her claws before taking a swipe at Harper who ducked. She felt the wind come off the green claws as she kept running. Roxy tried several attempts to attack Harper such as slashing, punching and spin-kicking, but Harper somehow managed to dodge it all.
"LITTLE PUNK!" Roxy snarled.
"JUST LET ME EXPLAIN!"
"NO NEED TRAITOR!"
The two raced down several long hallways damaging things along the way. Harper threw some vases back at Roxy who'd just swat them away. Eventually Roxy managed to land a punch to Harper's back making the frog gasp before starting to cry.
"CRYING WILL GET YOU NOWHERE!"
Harper began to actually hop which made her faster.
"DAMN JUMPER!" Roxy growled.
Harper shoved open one of the doors that led to the deck. She was tired, but she had to keep moving. She knew where she'd be safe, she just had to get there quickly, the steel room where they woke up. Roxy followed her out onto the deck where Harper was already racing towards the back of the ship. She threw small tables and umbrellas at Roxy, managing to smack her in the chest with a table.
"AUGH! YOU LITTLE BITCH!" Roxy roared.
Harper knew she was only making Roxy madder, which was not a good thing. Soon she managed to reach the end of the deck, trying her best to ignore what was sure to be Felix's corpse in the water still. Harper found the steel door and leaped at it. She prayed it was unlocked, and it was. She swung the door open and raced in before turning to close it right in Roxy's face. Right after locking it, Roxy began banging on it.
"OPEN THIS DAMN DOOR!"
"NO!"
"NOW!"
"NO! LEAVE ME ALONE!"
"NOT UNTIL I TAKE CARE OF YOU MYSELF!"
"I DON'T WANNA DIE!"
Roxy continued to pound on the door, it actually moved a bit and the lock shook. Just how strong was Roxy?
Harper looked around the room, all there was were turned off monitors. Didn't look like anything she could use to defend herself. She was now trapped and helpless.
CRASH!
Finally, the door broke off the hindges and Roxy stood there enraged and panting angrily.
"Nice...try...froggy..." She growled.
"Roxy...please..."
Harper was tearing up again as Roxy approached her.
"I told you crying won't help you."
Roxy grabbed Harper by her shirt, raised her up, then raised her other hand as a fist before opening it revealing her extended claws.
"I'm gonna rip you LIMB FROM FUCKING LIMB TRAITOR!"
Harper began to fully cry, but this only annoyed Roxy who threw Harper to the ground, the frog colliding with the steel floor and sliding a bit.
"Roxy...you...you were always my favorite..."
Roxy suddenly stopped her advancement, she had been planning to lunge and maul her, but Harper's words stopped her.
"Huh...f-f-favorite?" Roxy asked.
Harper sat up and wiped a tear.
"Yeah, you were my favorite of the Glamrocks. I had been waiting to talk to you all this time." Harper said.
Roxy shook her head.
"No...you're just trying to trick me, that's all."
"No...look."
Harper then proceeded to take off her shirt making Roxy look away.
"Whoa there, I'm not trying to see frog boobs." Roxy looked away.
"No...look at the shirt."
Harper put back on the shirt, only to reveal it had been inside out the whole time. Roxy saw the picture on the shirt and gasped, her tail slightly wagging and her eyes bulged. It was a picture of Roxy on the stage with her keytar jamming out.
"You're the best, like you say." Harper said.
Roxy felt her entire angry demeanor drop the longer she looked at the shirt.
"You...you really like me?"
"Yes, but...with our current situation I couldn't show you just yet. Roxy, I'm not the enemy here, I promise you. I want to escape like everyone else...please...don't hurt me."
Roxy felt herself began to tear up as well. She stared at Hopper with a trembling bottom lip. What had she done? She was threatening to kill a fan of hers. Someone who looked up to her, who really liked her, who...thought she was the best. Her anger seem to vanish as Roxy looked down.
"Harper...I'm sorry. I'm sorry for all this...I...I just."
Harper was already back on her feet, and before Roxy could finish, Harper ran to hug her. The sudden sensation made the wolf tense up, but soon she was hugging the frog back.
"I'm sorry...I'm so sorry." Roxy cried.
"It's okay, it's okay. We just need to work together to get off this ship, even if there is a traitor...they'll give themselves up at some point."
"Yeah...patience ey?"
"Exactly!" Harper winked.
The two fist-bumped before the monitor screen came on revealing Vanny's masked face.
"Hehe, how adorable!"
"VANNY! COME FIGHT ME RIGHT NOW!" Roxy challenged.
"In due time wolf girl. I saw the whole thing, reminds me of that pirate fox and ill-tempered bunny."
"They and the others will find us!" Harper growled.
"Oh please, it's too late for them to save you."
"Hell no it ain't. They can do anything, they will find us!"
"Even when they do, none of you will be around to see them."
"MARK MY WORDS VANNY! I WILL STOP YOU MYSELF IF I HAVE TO!"
"Even without your pathetic friends? You're weak, incompetent and less important friends?"
"HEY FUCK YOU! THOSE THREE ARE A FAMILY TO ME!"
"Yet you choose to be so selfish in front of them, you claiming to be the best doesn't help you."
Roxy growled as she clenched her fists tightly, her claws sinking into her palms.
"I'LL MAUL YOU!"
"Keep believing that."
Roxy was about to retort when they heard something click on Vanny's side.
"You want to prove yourself Roxy? Then take this!"
Suddenly, someone appeared in the doorway, it didn't look like any of the others. It actually looked like...
"MANGLE?"
There stood a tall white and pink fox, but she appeared to be mostly made of metal. Her yellow eyes glowed as he formed a scowl on her face walking in the room. She had a purple mowhawk and some ear peircings as well.
"What the...you're not Mangle!" Roxy gasped.
"You're right! Meet one of my robot minions, Punk Mangle."
"Punk Mangle?" Harper gasped.
Punk Mangle growled before cracking her metal knuckles. Roxy figured if they wanted to escape back to the others, they'd have to defeat her first. Roxy growled before cracking her own knuckles.
"Finally, a fight!" Roxy said.
"I'm not much of a fighter, but I can try." Harper said.
Roxy smiled at her.
"That's the spirit...but I want first dibs."
"Sure thing."
Harper watched as the robotic fox and wolf stared each other down, fangs bared, claws extended, and growls loud.
"LET'S GO!" Roxy yelled.
The two lunged at each other and collided in the center of the room with a loud thoom throwing up a bit of dust. Harper watched as the two traded blow after blow, punches, slashes and kicks were thrown, some connecting, some missing. Some blood and oil began to spill onto the floor too. Harper could only stare as Roxy managed to hold her own against the mute robotic fox. At one point the fox uppercuts Roxy who retaliated by headbutting the robot. Then Roxy went for neck and bit into it. Sparks and fur flew everywhere.
"RRRAAWWWRRR!"
Roxy tackled PM down and the two rolled around before Roxy managed to pin PM down. Roxy started punching the shit out PM and Harper took this chance to join in. The frog jumped onto PM to hold her down at Roxy went to town on PM's head.
"LEAVE. US. ALONE!" Roxy shouted with each punch.
Finally, the head was decapitated after Harper hopped up and landed on her neck breaking it off. Punk Mangle had been defeated and the other two cheered.
"We did it!" Harper said.
"Yeah, that was awesome!" Roxy said.
"Are you okay?"
Roxy was a little bruised up with a bloody nose and mouth.
"I'm okay, I've been through worse!"
Just then Vanny came back onto the screen laughing.
"Nice job you two! That girl was one of my more weaker bots."
"NOW COME ON OUT!" Roxy demanded.
"Not right now, I'm talking to a new friend about something."
"YOU'RE DEAD!"
"Always so angry aren't ya wolf? Don't you realize you're messing with a Goddess of Chaos?"
"YOU ARE NOTHING!"
"Weak words Wolf, now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go prepare my next bot."
"NO! DAMN YOU! GET BACK HERE!"
Roxy and Harper gasped when Vanny disappeared off the screen again Roxy angrily punched one of the monitors breaking it.
"Come on Roxy, we should go back to the others. Besides, I think you've done enough punching for the day." Harper suggested.
Roxy looked down at her bloodied knuckles.
"Yeah...fine." Roxy sighed.
The two exited the room and headed back to find the others...while Vanny came back on the screen one last time while laughing loudly!
To be continued...
