The video starts with a title reveal reading "Captain America: The First Avenger". A clip begins showing scientists in the Arctic finding a frozen Captain America's shield.
Movies in Minutes: In the present day, scientists in the Arctic uncover a frozen circular object with a red, white, and blue motif in the cockpit of a derelict aircraft. The clips shows one in Norway in March 1942. In March 1942, Nazi officer Johann Schmidt (as Schmidt is shown, a text graphic appears reading his name) and his men enter the town of Tonsberg in German-occupied Norway to steal a mysterious relic called the Tesseract, which possesses untold powers. We see Schmidt handling a box containing the Tesseract. The next clip shows an aerial shot of New York City. Meanwhile, in New York City, Steve Rogers (in the clip, we see a skinny Steve Rogers as a text graphic appears, reading his name) rejected for World War II military recruitment (we see a list of Steve's various health issues) because of various health and physical problems. We see the physician label Steve's sign-up form with "4F". While attending an exposition of future technologies with his friend, Sergeant James "Bucky" Barnes, (as the clip showing them at the exposition is shown, a text graphic appears, reading "Bucky Barnes") Rogers again attempts to enlist. In the clip, we see Steve being examined as the next clip shows Steve and Bucky arguing. Overhearing Rogers' conversation with Barnes about wanting to help in the war, Dr. Abraham Erskine (a clip of him is shown as he examines Steve) allows Rogers to enlist. The next clip shows Rogers' training as a U.S. Army soldier. He is recruited into the Strategic Scientific Reserve as part of a super-soldier serum under Erskine. Colonel Chester Phillips (text graphic appears reading his name as a clip is shown of him lecturing the soldiers) and British agent Peggy Carter (text graphic appears reading her name as a clip is shown of her waiting for Steve). Phillips is unconvinced by Erskine's claims that Rogers is the right person for the procedure but relents after seeing Rogers commit an act of self-sacrificing bravery.
Peggy smiles at Steve, knowing that wasn't the first time and wouldn't be the last.
In the clip, we see Steve jump on a fake grenade.
Movies in Minutes (as a clip of Erskine and Rogers' conversation the night before the treatment is shown): The night before the treatment, Erskine reveals to Roger that Schmidt underwent an imperfect version of the procedure and suffered permanent side effects. We see a clip of Schmidt, in the shadows and Arnim Zola. Back in Europe, Schmidt and Dr. Arnim Zola
Steve growled at his name as Bucky cringed with the memories that Zola experimented on him, twice, maybe more.
Movies in Minutes (in a clip, we see Zola and Schmidt testing the Tesseract): Harnessed the energies of the Tesseract, intending to to use the power to fuel Zola's inventions, mounting an offensive that will change the world. Schmidt discovers Erskine's location and dispatches an assassin to kill him. In the next clip, we see Steve being subjected to the Super-Soldier Serum. In the U.S., Erskine subjects Rogers to the super soldier treatment, inducing him with a special serum and dosing him with vita rays. An unmuted clip appears, showing Steve's transformation from the skinny kid to the bulk All-American hero we all know and love as music starts to play in the background, before it is muted again. After Rogers emerges from the experiment taller and more muscular, one of the attendees kills Erskine, revealing himself to be Schmidt's assassin, Heinz Kruger. We see a clip of Erskine dying. Rogers pursues and captures Kruger but the assassin avoids interrogation by committing suicide with cyanide capsules. We see Kruger kill himself, as we see Senator Brandt and Phillips. With Erskine dead and his super soldier serum lost, U.S. senator Brandt has Roger tour the nation in a colorful costume as Captain America to promote war bonds, rather than allow scientists to study him in an attempt to rediscover the formula. A clip shows Steve at several shows in a montage. In 1943, while on tour in Italy, performing for active servicemen (a clip shows this as well as Steve confronting Phillips upon learning of the capture of the 501st Infantry Regiment), Rogers learns that Barnes' unit was MIA in a battle against Schmidt's forces. Refusing to believe that Barnes is dead, Rogers has Carter and engineer Howard Stark (we see text graphic appear reading his name as a clip is shown of him flying a plane) fly him behind enemy lines to mount a solo rescue attempt. Rogers inflitrates the fortress of Schmidt's Hydra organization, freeing Barnes and the other prisoners. We see Steve do exactly all of this as he and Bucky confront Schmidt. Rogers confronts Schmidt, who removes his mask revealing a red, skull-like visage that earned him the name "Red Skull". A text graphic appears, reading the name below. We see Steve heading back to base. Schmidt escapes and Rogers returns to base with the freed soldiers. The next clip is Steve recruiting the Howling Commandos. Rogers recruits Barnes, Dum-Dum Dugan, Gabe Jones, Jim Morita, James Montgomery Falsworth, and Jacques Dernier to attack other known Hydra bases. We see Captain America and the Howling Commandos attacking a Hydra base.
"There's a picture of the Howling Commandos in my principal's office." Peter-1 said.
Movies in Minutes: Stark outfits Rogers with advanced equipment, most notably, a circular shield, made of vibranium, a rare, nearly indestructible metal. We see an focus-up shot on the shield. In the next clip, we see Schmidt appearing at the ruins of a Hydra base. Rogers and his team sabotage various Hydra operations. We see a clip of the Howling Commandos on a train. The team later assaults a train carrying Zola. Rogers and Jones succeed in capturing Zola (we see the duo point Zola at gunpoint), but Barnes falls from the train to his assumed death (a clip shows Barnes falling off the railing on the side of the train). Using information extracted from Zola, (a clip shows Phillips eating Zola's meal) the final Hydra stronghold is located and Rogers leads an attack (we see him head to the base on his motorcycle) to stop Schmidt from using weapons of mass destruction on American cities and soon other major cities across the globe. Rogers climbs aboard Schmidt's aircraft as it takes off. A clip shows him doing that exact thing. During the subsequent fight, the Tesseract's container is damaged. Schmidt physically handles the Tesseract, causing him to dissolve in a bright light (we see him disappear as the Tesseract sinks to the ocean floor), burning through the plane and falling to Earth. Seeing no way to landing the plane with detonating its weapons, Roger crashes it in the Arctic. We see the ship land in the ice as a later clip shows Howard finding the Tesseract in the ocean floor. Stark later recovers the Tesseract from the ocean floor but is unable to locate Rogers or the aircraft, presuming him dead. We see a clip of Steve awaking in the modern day. Rogers awakens in a 1940s-style hospital room. A baseball game plays on the radio but he recognized he's heard it before. He realizes from this that something must be wrong and he flees outside to present-day Times Square (he does the exact thing in a clip) where S.H.I.E.L.D. director Nick Fury informs him he has been asleep for nearly 70 years. An extra clip shows Steve training at a gym as Fury approaches him. In a post-credits scene, Fury approaches Rogers, proposing a mission with worldwide ramifications.
And there's another chapter down. In the next chapter, we will go over "The Avengers in Minutes | Recap".
