With Tara at St. Thomas and with her niece and nephews all at daycare, it was just Alyssa Nathan and Lydia hanging out at home. It's been over week since Alyssa came back to Charming. Alyssa really didn't plan on staying in Charming this long really. She was supposed to come out here and visit her sister and family for a few days, and go somewhere far, A place so far that Brian can't find them. But instead Alyssa is planning to buy her childhood home for her and her kids, and has an interview to work at the Charming Diner.
A few days ago, while Alyssa was taking her kids out to lunch at the diner, she noticed a 'help wanted' sign hanging by the counter. She filled out an application for a waitress position, and now tomorrow morning, she has an interview.
So, guys, I was thinking maybe after breakfast we could go to the park for the day and have a picnic lunch?" Alyssa asked Nathan and Lydia as she brought them each a plate of chocolate chip pancakes.
Can Abel and Thomas come with us?" Nathan asked as he took a bite of his chocolate chip pancakes. He hoped he could throw his football around with his cousins at the park.
Sorry buddy, but Aunt Tara took your cousins to daycare for the day," Alyssa answered as she took a sip of her coffee, which was still semi-warm. "I will be right back." She said as she set her cup on the kitchen counter as she heard a knock at the front door.
As she walked out of the kitchen toward the door, she gasped a little when the last person she would ever expect to see at her sister's house appeared - Brian. "Brian," she said, crossing her arms over her chest. "What are you doing here?"
Should I be asking you that question? You haven't returned any of my calls for over a week. Alyssa, what's going on? What are you doing here?
You know why I'm here, Brian," Alyssa said. "I needed to put as much distance as I could between us. I needed time to think about our situation and figure out what I'm going to do." She shrugged her shoulders for a moment.
" What are you talking about? Is this about the other night? Because if it is... I'm sorry that I hit you okay? Come on Alyssa you know me, you know that I would never do something like that. It was..."
"The first time? Yeah, Brian. I know. Because I couldn't understand why you would do it after you promised me that you would never lay a hand on me, no matter what. But you did, and there's no turning back from that; there's no way to fix this." Alyssa said as she shook her head.
" Oh come on Alyssa, of course we can fix this, I love you." Brian said as he tried to reach for her but dropped his hands when Alyssa backed away from him.
No, Brian. You don't love me. You just love to control me, and my life. But not anymore, because I'm not going to let you control me anymore.
"Alyssa, I..."
You should go, Brian, and please don't come back; just leave me alone. I'm done with this conversation and I'm done with you," Alyssa said as she walked back into the house and closed the door behind her without looking back at Brian.
After Alyssa helped Tara clean up from tonight's dinner and after they both got the kids into bed, Alyssa emerged from the kitchen carrying two cups of steaming herbal tea. Handing Tara a cup, Alyssa sat down in one of the chairs as she sipped her tea.
So how was it at the hospital? Was it busy?
Tara chuckled as she nodded her head." Yeah, something like that."
" Um, Brian showed up."
" What? When?" Tara asked as she set her cup down.
Alyssa sighs deeply as she also leans forward and set her cup down on the coffee table." This morning before I took the kids to the park."
" What did he say?"
Alyssa replied with a scoff and a shake of her head. "He told me that he was sorry for hitting me." She paused before continuing, "I told him that I wanted nothing to do with him anymore and that he should leave Charming as soon as possible."
" Do you think he'll really back off and leave you alone?"
Alyssa shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know," she said. "But I hope so. I was thinking of maybe you could hook me up with a divorce lawyer?"
I could ask Lowen and see if she knows any good divorce lawyers; I'll give her a call in the morning. But are you sure that's what you want to do?
Alyssa nodded her head as she lifted her cup up and took another sip of her tea. "Of course it's not what I want to do, Tara," she said. "But it's something that I have to do. Brian and I... we shouldn't have gotten married in the first place. We only got married because I was pregnant, and I thought at the time that it was the right thing to do."
" Well, like I said I will give Lowen a call and see who she recommends."
" Thanks, it's getting late. Is Jax still at the clubhouse?"
Tara snorts as she shook her head." I wish, but no he's with some of the guys. They're up in Disoa."
"This late at night?" Alyssa asked as she raised her eyebrow for a moment.
" Yeah, I guess Jax wanted to talk to Nero about something and the guys just needed to unwind for the night." Tara answered with a scoff as she finished her tea.
Does um... does Happy spend his time up there as well?" Alyssa asked, biting her lip for a moment as she couldn't help but wonder if he did or not.
Tara shrugged her shoulders."Probably. Why are you asking? Do you like him or something?"
Alyssa sighed exhaustedly as she rolled her eyes."No, of course I don't like him."
" Bullshit, I see how you are around him and you wouldn't be asking if you didn't like him. Is there something going between you and Happy that I need to know about?"
Alyssa shook her head."There's absolutely nothing going on between me and Happy," Alyssa said. "We've only talked a couple of times. Besides, I don't get involved with anyone from the club. I'm not you, remember?" Alyssa asked as she smirked slightly, watching Tara roll her eyes a little.
"I'm going to go and get some sleep," Tara said as she got up from the couch. "Are you staying up?"
Alyssa nodded her head slightly. "For at least another hour or two."
Tara nodded her head a little. "Good night," she said as she turned around and walked down the hall towards their bedroom, closing the door gently behind her.
As soon as Alyssa made sure Tara's bedroom door was closed, she got up from the chair, grabbed her car keys and purse, and headed out the front door. After talking about Brian, Alyssa needed to get out of the house for a few hours, and she definitely needed something stronger than herbal tea.
AN: Short chapter, not a whole lot going on in this chapter. But don't worry though, I will make it up in the next chapter. Leave reviews xD.
