Chapter Four
Ten minutes later…
"Wait look over there, it looks like a ship." Amy suddenly said as she pointed out and squinted to see better.
"Yes it does, we need to inform Captain Sonic of this." Cream replied as she too squinted her eyes to try and see the ship better.
Amy nodded and began to ring the bell above their heads, alerting all that something was approaching them fast.
"SHIP SPOTTED AND APPORACHING FAST. IT IS EAST FROM OUR LOCATION!" Amy shouted down, making Cream cover her ears and cringe at the loud tone.
"Battle stations people, all hands on desk. All cannons ready to fire and pointed at that ship, we are going to blow it up sky high!" Sonic shouted out as he gave his orders, having everyone running about in a slight panic well all apart from the two in the kitchen and Shadow.
"Cool my first hour here and I get to see something go boom." Eclipse excitedly said with eager eyes at witnessing this happen.
"Captain Faker, how do you know it is an enemy ship approaching?" Shadow called up as he stood at the bottom of the steps, looking at Sonic at the wheel and standing beside his brother.
"That is where you come in Shads, I want you to chaos control aboard then find out. Besides it is better to be prepared than regretful later." Sonic called down with a wink, a hint of excitement was in his voice while hoping that maybe it was an enemy ship.
"If I don't make it back then well no loss there really. Chaos control." Shadow smirked playfully up at Sonic then vanished.
"Shadow's not coming back?" Eclipse asked with worry up at Sonic.
"Chill Eclipse, Shadow will be back. He was just messing about." Sonic assured as he grinned down at Shadows alien brother.
Shadow appeared aboard the on coming ship and raised a brow at the many robots running about endlessly in a panic. He looked around then spotted Eggman at the ships wheel arguing with Metal Sonic and Mephiles. All three dressed in pirate gear and it was very clear Eggman was captain.
"What the hell?" Shadow muttered then quickly dashed over to a barrel and hid behind it out of sight from everyone.
"Why do I get the feeling Faker is the reason Eggman suddenly decided to sail the sea at the same time as us?" Shadow thought as he dashed to a different barrel and closer to the ones by the wheel, he wanted to hear what they were saying.
"I'm telling you we need to go that way." Mephiles pointed to the map with an annoyed expression and sounding frustrated.
"No we need to sail in the opposite direction." Eggman argued back as he too pointed to the map with one hand and the other hand on the wheel.
"Master we have a problem." Metal Sonic said but was completely ignored as the two kept squabbling over the direction to sail in, he happened to have spotted Sonics ship getting into a battle stand.
"O-k this is getting far too weird." Shadow muttered then backed away to leave the ship only to back into a robot.
The robot quickly grabbed Shadow and dragged him to its master by the wheel.
"Master an intruder aboard the SS Empire." The robot said as he shoved Shadow down to the floor at Dr Eggmans feet.
"The SS Empire, really?" Shadow dryly asked with an unimpressed expression, looking up at Eggman.
"Well, well, well why if it isn't Shadow Robotnik. Thought you could sneak aboard and get away with it?" Eggman grinned sinisterly down at Shadow, who was slowly getting back onto his feet.
"Don't call me that and actually yeah I did." Shadow simply said in a calm voice as he brushed himself down casually.
"What do you want Shadow?" Mephiles growled with narrowed eyes and crossed arms.
"I was in the neighbourhood and thought hey why not board the ship and see who owns it…what do you think I'm doing here for, to sell you all cookies?" Shadow began with a sarcastic voice then growled with an annoyed voice near the very end of his words.
"You are here to scout ahead which means…oh no Sonic's ship is already at its battle stand." Eggman said then looked out to see Sonics ship facing its side very closely to his and the cannons poking out of the sides ready to fire.
"I did try to tell you master." Metal Sonic gave a dry robotic tone at his master, clearly not impressed.
"Guess this is my queue to leave, have fun being hit with cannonballs." Shadow smirked then vanished in a bright light, appearing by Sonic at the wheel.
"So an enemy?" Sonic curiously asked as he glanced at Shadow.
"It's the Dr, Mephiles and Metal Sonic along with a whole bunch of robot minions running about clueless." Shadow shrugged as he spoke back casually to Sonic.
"Cool our first prisoners…right ready at the cannons Omega and fire on my command!" Sonic said with glee then shouted out loud enough so Omega could hear his orders from below them.
"Damn it Captain Faker, did you really have to shout that loudly?" Shadow complained as he covered his ears briefly.
"Aw poor little baby…just get ready for capture Egghead, your insane twin and tin-meat." Sonic mocked with fake sympathy then went deadly serious when telling Shadow what to do.
"I swear I will end you Faker." Shadow growled dangerously as he narrowed his eyes at Sonic, who shrugged the threat off as if it was nothing.
"Tails take the wheel and steady the ship." Sonic commanded in a serious tone then watched Tails nod and do just that.
