Chapter Six

Ten minutes later supper was on the table and both Blaze and Knuckles were looking very nervous as all sat around the large wooden table with their meal.

"Say guys what is this?" Sonic raised a brow at the light green slop in a bowl that had a few black looking lumps in it.

"It is supposed to be soup. Listen we have a confession to make, me and Blaze cannot cook to save our lives so if you all really want to live then don't eat it." Knuckles sighed with shame as he bowed his head, Blaze sort of doing the same as she nodded in agreement.

"O-k, Shadow you are officially cook since I know you can cook well. Knuckles I'm putting you on maintenance duty with Silver and Blaze can assist Eclipse with law enforcement. So now that you are cook Shads, can you do an emergency food run?" Sonic sighed as he swapped rolls around a little.

"Fine, any requests?" Shadow smirked as he was much happier being the chef instead of being a skivvy.

"Chaos control to some fried chicken joint and get a lot of chicken and fries for us. Oh and don't forget the cans of fizzy either, can't have fried chicken without fizzy drinks." Sonic grinned as he really wanted that to eat instead of this green slop in a bowl.

Shadow shrugged then grabbed his brother to assist him with carrying it all back. They chaos controlled away to get the food and drinks as Knuckles and Blaze got rid of the bowels. It took fifteen minutes for the brothers to return and now everyone was eating fried chicken and chips with a can of fizzy to wash it all down. As for Eggman, he were given the slop to eat but damn right refused to touch it as he stated it was giving him evil sinister looks while plotting to kill him.

"Man that was lush, is there any left over?" Sonic said with a satisfied grin, leaning back on his chair with a light pat on his stomach.

"There is a few pieces of chicken left." Tails said with a happy smile as he did enjoy the meal very much especially after seeing his first option.

"Shadow go give it to Egghead will ya. I'm feeling generous this evening." Sonic sighed out contently as he closed his eyes.

Shadow shook his head and gathered the four pieces of chicken that was left over then made his way to the lower levels where the holding cell was. He greeted Omega, who was still pointing his weapons at the prisoners, then approached the barred cell.

"Captain Faker has decide to give you fried chicken out of the kindness of his faker heart." Shadow groaned as he waited for Omega to unlock the cell so he could give the plate to Eggman.

"Why are you even on this ship with Sonic for?" Eggman questioned as he took the plate and passed it to Mephiles to hold for him.

"Rouge made me in the form of blackmail, which it seems everyone wants to do to me as of late, and it isn't all that bad. I am now cook so you will at least have an edible meal from now on." Shadow shrugged as he had to admit he was having some fun while being here.

"Well it is better than lounging around at club Rouge or at home doing nothing all day and night." Shadow thought for he knew that that was what he would be doing and growing bored doing it too.

Shadow walked away and Omega locked the cell door back up and resumed his position in guarding the prisoners. When Shadow reached the top he was suddenly grabbed to one side by Sonic and pinned up against the wall roughly and out of sight from anyone who would pass by.

"Captain Faker, what do you want?" Shadow growled with anger in his red eyes.

"I have a special job that only you can do Shadow." Sonic whispered with a teasing grin at Shadow.

"Yeah and what might that be?" Shadow asked as he was a little curious but still a little pissed with being pinned against a wooden wall of the ship by the stairs leading up to the ships wheel.

"I want you to get Mephiles on our side and I want him to be your assistant in the kitchen. I am confident that you can deal with him alone and punish him when he steps out of line. So what do you say, you up for the job?" Sonic whispers as he slowly lets go of Shadow and takes a step back.

"What is in it for me if I say yes?" Shadow smirked playfully with crossed arms and still up against the wall.

"I wont tell everyone you are gay Shads. That is what is in it for ya." Sonic chuckles as he hears Shadow growl back with frustration.

"I will say it again, you are diabolical and evil hedgehog." Shadow pouted a little as he glared at Sonic.

"Yeah I do try my best. See you in the captains room for your special surprise." Sonic winked seductively then dashed off to his personal room for the night.

"Again he is so evil, why the hell did it have to be him to catch me kissing a guy in my slightly drunken state and not someone else?" Shadow muttered under his breath with a shake of his head and yet very glad it wasn't Rouge either for he was sure Rouge would be far worse in her blackmailing.

Shadow made his way back down to the holding cell and stood by the bars with a deep frown.

"Mephiles, Captain Faker has a proposition for you. He wants you to join our side and become my assistant in the kitchen in exchange for your freedom and cooperation. You have until morning to think it over and I will return then for an answer." Shadow seriously announced with an equally serious expression as he and Mephiles locked eyes then he chaos controlled away to the captains personal chambers for this so called special surprise.
