It was nine o'clock when the couple started to stir from their sleep. Sonic opened his eyes first then not long after Shadow did as well. They remained in bed and cuddled within each others embrace.

"How you doing love?" Sonic softly asked as he stroked Shadows chest fur, twiddling it around his fingers.

"Fine, still feels strange not feeling my fangs but I'm sure it wont take too long for them to break through the hardened gum-line then grow." Shadow sighs out with a soft smile as he enjoys the attention on his chest fur.

"You know babe, I reckon we both could do with a little cheering up." Sonic purrs seductively into Shadows ear, making Shadow moan softly at the idea.

"I do believe you are right my love." Shadow purrs back as he moves to sit on Sonics waistline and smirks suggestively down at him.

An hour and a half later, a very satisfied Sonic and Shadow walk out of the bathroom after a shared shower and a second round of sex in said shower. They walk into the kitchen and got their breakfast, late breakfast, then sat up the table together. Their fur was a little damp but neither cared as they ate and drank in a comfortable silence, that was until Sonic's phone went off.

"I'll be back in a minute babe." Sonic sighed then rushed to get his phone from the living room.

"Hey babe yours is going off now too." Sonic called out then answered his phone.

Shadow rolled his eyes and went to answer his phone. He answered it and walked back into the kitchen to give them both a little privacy as they spoke on their phones.

"Hello Shadow speaking…Tanya, hi. Did you get a new number?" Shadow smiled as he heard his sisters voice.

"Yeah was calling to give it to you, well I was just going to text it to you but I heard from dad what happened last night. Are you both alright?" Tanya explained then asked with worry.

"We are doing fine thank you Tan. I'll be home this afternoon on a visit, we should go out for a drink in Café Deluxe before I come back to the mortal realm." Shadow suggested with a cheerful voice.

"Hell yeah we are bro, I haven't seen you in months." Tanya excitedly agreed.

"Perfect I'll see you at the palace later then." Shadow replied as his tone stayed cheerful.

"You bet, see you there bye." Tanya said then hung up.

Shadow put his phone on the kitchen table, after saving his sisters new number, and picked up his mug then drank from it. He downed the last drop when Sonic entered not looking very happy.

"What's the matter my love?" Shadow asked as he looked at Sonic with sad features.

"I wont be able to come with you to the Underworld. I have to attend a conference this afternoon with our friends and it could take up to two hours." Sonic sighed with some level of sadness as he retook his seat.

"Oh right…another time perhaps my love. I'm sure my mum wont let me leave without agreeing to visit in another few days time anyway, you can come then." Shadow forced a smile but was feeling really disappointed by this news.

"Thanks babe, you are so understanding." Sonic said as he began to cheer up a little.

Soon it was time for the two to leave, they shared a passionate kiss before leaving. Sonic walked out of the house and locked the door with his keys whereas Shadow made a portal to the palace to visit his family. Shadows portal appeared in front of the palace's front entrance, he walked up the thirty small steps and inside with a smile. As soon as Shadow entered the corridor going towards the throne room, he was bombarded by his sister in the form of a tight hug.

"Shadow, I've been waiting for like ever for you to turn up." Tanya happily cried out as she hugged him a little tighter.

"H-hello Tan…you're crushing my ribs." Shadow just about managed to say as he was hugged to near death.

"Sorry but it's so good to see you are alright." Tanya smiled a little nervously as she let him go.

"And it is very good to see you too, how is everything in the world of Tanya?" Shadow chuckled as he followed his sister down the corridor.

"Everything is doing wonderful, Max sends his regards with the case you seem to be slightly involved in." Tanya smiled happily as they walked.

"I'm slightly involved? The last I checked I'm representing the vampire race in the mortal realm so dad has less work on his already loaded plate. You are still with Max then I take it? So when's the wedding and am I invited?" Shadow teased a little knowing Max has yet to propose.

"So you are involved in the investigation and working with the cops? Huh I didn't know that. And FYI Shadow me and Max are not getting married. He hasn't asked me to marry him yet but I do have a feeling it wont be too long before he does. Yes you and Sonic will be invited along with Chase and Michael." Tanya pointed out with a playful grin.

"Yeah and so we should be. I'm not working with the cops as such but they do inform me of regular updates and I do tend to go to the station a lot these days. Not in that way and you know it." Shadow said then corrected that devious grin on his sisters face.

"Yeah like I said you are slightly involved, jailbird." Tanya teased with that grin still there.

Shadow rolled his eyes at his older sister then they both opened the throne room doors where their parents and council members were having a meeting. Shadow closed the doors with his gift as he and Tanya walked over to them. Emily stood up and rushed over to her son and embraced him just as tightly as Tanya did. Shadow hugged back and tried to ignore his now bruised ribs.

"Oh sweetie it is so good to see you, come take your seat." Emily brightly said as she broke the hug and held her sons hand, leading him to his chair next to his father, Tanya already taking hers beside Emily's.

"Afternoon everyone, hope all is well." Shadow said once he sat on his throne chair, a fangless smirk on his muzzle.

"All is well here but how are you coping Master Shadow?" Crystal asked with concern as she saw no fangs in Shadows mouth.

"Coping reasonably well thank you Crystal." Shadow replied cheerfully.

"No Sonic today?" Edward questioned with a small frown.

"No, he had a conference to go to this afternoon and couldn't get out of it." Shadow said with a small frown back.

"That's a shame I wanted to talk to him, never mind it can wait. So any updates on these attackers?" Edward sighed then asked with a serious look in Shadows direction.

"No nothing as of yet but I suspect there is more than one group now. Too many vampire are being attacked for it to only be a small group of people. The other night two were found with no fangs, in different locations hours apart and within an hours time space of both instances. I'm sure the police in the Mortal Realm know this and are tripling their efforts to find them all." Shadow announced with a serious tone and look.

"Just in case they don't son, you should tell them of your suspicions. Nine times out of ten you are usually right about these things." Collin said as he glanced beside him at Shadow.

"Yes, when I return I will make it my first job, the second will be to offer my assistance in searching for them. I'm fangless now and not a risk of being attacked. Maybe I could do a little research on that tattoo I saw and find out what it means, where is originates, how and why it glows." Shadow agreed with a faint smile as he looked at his father.

"Good idea sweetie, oh we could do that here in the city library together." Emily beamed out, wanting to spend a little time with her son.

"I would like that mum, we can do that tomorrow. I'll come round in the morning then we will make our way over there together." Shadow smiled at his now very happy mother.

"Then we will break for lunch and go shopping." Emily sighed out happily with a dreamy look in her eyes.

"Sure, I could do with a little de-stressing." Shadow agreed with a grin.

"You are making your mother very happy son." Collin lent towards Shadow and whispered softly with a warm smile, Shadow smiling wider back at that.

"Ok with that settled we can close the meeting here and reopen it tomorrow evening before dinner to find out if you both found anything on that tattoo." Edward announced with a smile and bright tone of voice.

"Agreed, meeting adjourned." Collin announced as he stood up, making everyone else stand as well.

The throne room emptied and all dispersed. The royals went to the lounge whereas the council members returned home for the rest of the day. Shadow smiled as he sat on the sofa and having his mother sit next to him. Collin and Tanya also sat on the sofa but on the one opposite together.

"I cannot wait until tomorrow, why don't you spend the night Shadow. Go home and tell the police what you suspect, pick up Sonic and come back." Emily suggested with a pleading look.

"I could, it will save time on getting here and we could leave straight after breakfast. I'll run it by Sonic first and see if he doesn't mind." Shadow smiled as he answered.

"Wonderful, I'm sure he wont." Emily excitedly replied with a huge pleased grin.

"Ok. Emily my love it's almost time for our appointment at the hospital. We should start to get ready." Collin smiled warmly at his wife.

"Oh yes of course, you will be here when we get back wont you Shadow?" Emily asked her son when she stood.

"What time will you be back because me and Tan are going for a hot drink at Café Deluxe." Shadow asked with a soft tone.

"Why don't we join you after the appointment, we will be done by four-thirty." Emily beamed out.

"Ok then see you both there." Shadow smiled back.

Collin guided his pregnant wife out of the lounge after saying bye to his children. Tanya and Shadow locked eyes and busted out into laughter once they were sure their parents were far gone.

"Man I hope I'm not like that if I ever get pregnant." Tanya sighed as she wiped a tear from her eyes.

"Feel sorry for Max when you are." Shadow chuckled lightly.

"And I will feel sorry for you in the future." Tanya teased with a smirk.

"Oh shit I forgot I would have to settle down and pick a wife eventually. Damn, not looking forward to any hormonal mood swings." Shadow groaned as he slouched in his seat with crossed arms.

"Well put it this way, you don't have to be the one carrying and birthing the baby." Tanya smiled as she spoke.

"This is very true. Right shall we get going for our drink then just chill there for a while?" Shadow smirks a fangless smirk then stands up.

"Sure why not." Tanya grins then stands also.

The two reached the café and took a seat by the window, big enough for them and their parents when they get here. They ordered a hot drink each and waited for it to arrive.

"You know I'm surprised no one has come up to us and asked if you are alright." Tanya whispered quietly.

"They probable see that I am and not bothering to bug me about it, either that or they don't know yet." Shadow shrugged indifferently but was thankful for being left alone.

Their drinks came within a couple of more minutes and the two continued to talk.

"How is Max doing these days?" Shadow casually asked with a smile as he held his large mug of blood in his hands, it sitting on the table.

"Busy with work at the moment, crime doesn't stop for no man…or woman." Tanya smiled then lifted her mug and took a small sip.

"This is true, I'm sure it wont be long before the mortal police will seek help from our police in cracking the investigation. If so me and Max will be working closely together, now that I'm going to insist on getting completely involved in the case." Shadow smirked playfully as he spoke then too taking a sip from his drink.

"Oh please don't start on him if you both do. I know what you are like Shadow and not all of your teasing is funny." Tanya frowned, speaking in a serious tone.

"Relax I'll be very professional…inside of the office that is, I'm kidding sis relax. For the record I really like Max and I think he is perfect for you." Shadow smiled at the end of his sentence.

"Really, you mean that?" Tanya asked with slightly surprised eyes.

"Yes I do." Shadow nodded sincerely then drank more of his hot beverage.

The two carried on sitting and talking for a good two hours and was now on their third drink when their parents finally joined them. They greeted their mum and dad when they sat down, Emily sat next to Shadow and Collin next to Tanya.

"How did your appointment go?" Shadow asked with a cheerful tone as he looked at his parents.

"Oh it went wonderful sweetie, we know the sex of the baby now." Emily excitedly announced with a grin at her son.

"Really, please say it's a girl." Shadow replied with concern in his eyes.

"Why would you say that, don't you want a brother son?" Collin raised a brow as he looked at his worried looking son.

"And have him put up with the pains of being gifted, I'd rather have another sister." Shadow sighed as he sat back in his seat with an unhappy look.

"Shadow sweetheart sorry to say but you're getting a brother. He might not be gifted, it's a fifty-fifty chance." Emily said as she brought Shadow into a side hug as reassurance.

"True but I cannot help but to worry, just look at what I had to go through to gain control of my gift, what if he gets something worse and harder to contain?" Shadow sighs a little sadly as he excepts his mothers hug, leaning into it and resting his head on her shoulder.

"You will be there to help and guide him if he was gifted with something similar to your own gift. Besides I doubt it he will have such a dark and powerful gift like yours son." Collin grinned playfully as he looked at Shadow.

"Yeah I guess…will he get wings come maturity like me?" Shadow asked with a curious look and smiled a little happily.

"I don't know, we will have to wait and see. I would assume he will since he is my son as well as you. Come to think of it this will be the very first time our family will have birthed two sons, we are making history Emily." Collin said with excitement in his eyes.

"Wow we are, how exciting." Emily squealed as she stopped the hug to her son and clapped her hands together in delight.

"Do you guys have any names yet?" Tanya asked sweetly with a smile.

"Not yet but we have plenty of time to think of a few." Collin smiled as he looked beside him.

"Well I do like the name Daniel and I also like the name Casey." Emily mused as she smiled at the thought of those names.

"Casey's a nice name mum. Casey Casadonte`, does have a ring to it." Shadow smiled as he spoke, glancing at his mother beside him.

"It is isn't it." Emily grinned then looked at her husband for approval on the name.

"I do like the name my love but what if he doesn't look like a Casey?" Collin nervously said with a small smile as his wife frowned at him.

"We named Shadow before he was born." Emily protested with crossed arms and now deeply frowning.

"You did? Well got that one right, definitely suits me." Shadow smirked deviously with a little chuckle.

"Yes we did sweetie, in fact your father named you." Emily smirked playfully as she looked at Shadow.

"Thanks for the name dad, perfect choice." Shadow chuckled as his smirk grew a little.

"And he named you Tanya too." Emily smiled at her daughter softly.

"Then it's mums turn to name our brother." Tanya grinned at her father.

"Yes I agree and I think mum's going to stick with Casey." Shadow said as he joined in with ganging up on his father.

"Alright I give, it is three against one. It's not hard to see who will win this debate." Collin rolled his eyes playfully, not really minding the name all that much.

"Knew you will see sense dear." Emily beamed out with a triumphant smirk at her husband.
