Chapter 3

"Congratulations Addison!" Callie said as she brought a small cake and their orders to the table.

"No, thank you Callie. You helped me to apply in your work. It's because of you that I got accepted." Addison said.

"Well, because of your good grades and physical appearance, it was really easy for you to get a job. Now, we'll never be separated." Addison smiled.

"Is there any news of her?" Derek asked.

"She hasn't even called yet, I wish she's okay." Bizzy said with a worried face.

"Why did she do that." Derek said. "I'm about to debut in a week."

"Oh Derek. You're right infront of your dream now. Im so proud of you." Bizzy hugged Derek.

"Yeah. It would've been better if Addison's here though."

"Oh. I know it's also hard for you that your bestfriend left without a notice, but let's just hope for the best Derek. Wherever Addie is right now, I know, she'll be cheering for you."

"Thank you Bizzy. Oh, and when Addison calls you, please inform me."

"I will definitely call you." Bizzy gave him an assuring smile. Derek left.

The very next days, Addison was walking in the building where she works now. Callie left her because she had to submit a report early. While walking in, she stopped and looked in inside her bag, she was looking for her phone when, someone accidentaly bumped her. Addison was about to fell on the floor when she felt a pair of arms held her. She was helped by the person to stand on her own.

"Good thing I caught you." A young smiling man said. 'Oh. You're really pretty.'

"Thank you." Addison looked at the man, nodded and just went away.

Alex Karev was schocked with what the girl just did. 'Maybe she's new' he thought, then he saw a wallet on the ground. He picked it up and put it in his pocket.

When Addison reached her table, Callie came.

"You look... Exhausted?" Callie said.

"I almost fell to the ground, good thing a smiling man caught me but... I kinda ignored him slightly, I just said thank you and left. I felt embarass so I just went away fast."

"Forget about that. Okay. Let's start working."

Lunch time, The two girls entered the canteen of the company. There was a tv on the canteen and a music show was starting, a new boyband was being introduced.

"Everyone, I present to you, not your ordinary boyband, group of guys who has an amazing voices that will melt every girls heart and also they also dance, The heartbreakers." The host said.

"Hello everyone." The guys introduced themselves.

"Your dance routine is being copied by everyone. Can you show it to us."

"Ah, yes. Let's have Mark and Derek to show it to everyone." the leader spoke. When Addison heard Derek's name, she immediately looked at the tv.

"Derek." Addison whispered then she smiled. Callie looked at her friend and at the screen, her eyes widened.

"He finally debuted." Addison formed a tear in her eyes. "He looks so happy."

"Addie" Callie looked at her friend with worried eyes.

"I'm okey, Come now. Let's order." Addison said as she wiped her eyes. She was looking for her wallet in her bag. She can't find it.

"Yeah, let's go then." Callie agree.

"You go ahead. I.. have to do something. I'm going first." Addison immediately stood up and went out. She returned to her office table and just leaned on the table.

"Whats wrong with me today. Am I having bad luck?" Addison said to herself.

Addison held at her stomach, she hasn't eaten breakfast and lunch yet. She was shy to ask her friend for money because Callie helped her a lot.

When Alex sat on his office chair, he was looking for his pen when he remembered the wallet. He opened it and saw a picture of the owner. 'She is indeed pretty, her long redhair, her pinkish lips, and her captivating blue green eyes.'

"Oh, its lunch time. She must have not eaten yet because of this." He stood up and walked to his secretary.

"Patricia, can you please look up the files of all the employees with the name Addison Montgomery, when you find it, tell me where she's under at." Alex told his secretary.

After a few minutes. "Sir. Ms. Addison Montgomery is the new employee under the marketing department." Alex nodded.

He made his way to the marketing department and saw a crowd of employees inside.

"What's the problem here?" Alex said, wondering about the commotion. Everyone moved away except for Calli who was talking to a dizzy Addison.

"Oh. Mr. Karev. Everythings fine here, we just need her to take a rest." Callie said while still holding her friend.

"No. Let me take her." Alex carried Addison, up to the lunch area in the same floor of his office.

"Please put me down. I.. Just.. Can i just please have water." Addison said while holding her head, she didn't know that Alex ordered a lot of food. He felt guilty that she had to be sick because of hunger.

"Please, eat. I'm sorry that you had to feel this way."

"I can't eat that. I dont have money." Addison said.

"Eat it. Here." Alex handed her wallet. "You left it on the floor when someone bumped you."

"Oh, thank you very much. I'll pay you later."

"No need, I will just feel more guilty because you have to endure like this." Addison just nodded and started eating.

"Arent you going to eat?" Alex just smiled. "Please stop smiling like that." Addison said. "By the way Im Addison"

"Montgomery. I know, I've read your file" Alex finished.

"Read my file? Who are you anyway?" Addison asked. But before Alex could answer, his secretary came.

"Sir. You're father called you to his office."

"Okay. I'll follow." Alex said to his secretary. "I'm Alexander Karev, but my friends call me Alex. I'll see you around Ms. Montgomery and enjoy your meal." After Addison ate. She rested for a while and returned to the office.

"Addie" Callie hugged her.

"Im fine now." Addison said.

"Good. But, how did the vice president know you?" Callie asked.

"Vice president?"

"Yeah. He carried you up to the lunch area of the vice president's office. Mr. Alexander Karev." Callie said.

"He... He's the owner?" Addison's eyes widened, she cannot believe that she'd disrespect the owner of the company she's working at.

"yeah. And I was wondering how..."

"Kill me now Calliope, how can I act just like that infront of the owner." Addison hid her face with her hands.

Because of what happened, Addison made sure that she can apolize to Alex, she told Callie to go home while she was in the lobby of the company building waiting for Alex to pass by.

It was already 7PM and workers are all gone except for the cleaners and guards.

Addison looked at her watch. "What's taking him so long?" then to her surprise, Alex came out of the elevator talking to his phone. She made her way to him, Alex noticed her and ended the call.

"Ms. Montgomery . Im glad your looking okay now." Alex said to her.

"Uhhm. Mr. Karev, I'm really sorry of how I acted back there..."

"it's Alex, Mr. Karev is to formal, and no need for that. Im kinda happy that you treated me that way. It felt good, like I'm just having fun with a friend."

Addison looked down. "Uhh. Thank you."

"You're welcome." Alex said.

Then Addison went out of the building and waited for a bus, when Alex saw her, he stopped infront of her.

"Hop in." Alex said.

"I'll just take the bus sir."

"If you dont get in, I'll get mad at you. And I told you it's just Alex" Addison had no choice but to get in.

While in the car, Addison had her hands together and looking down. Alex looked at her and smiled.

"How about we grab something to eat. I haven't had anything since lunch yet. My treat." He said while the car stopped because of the traffic light.

Addison looked at him in surprise. "Wha?! You haven't eaten lunch yet but you ordered many foods for me back there."

"Yeah. I was kinda busy and I told you, I felt guilty, because of me, you didnt had the chance to buy food."

"Sir, just drop me off there. My house is near there. You can go ahead and have your dinner."

"I bet you haven't had dinner too. And I dont like eating alone." Alex making excuse while he hold on his stomach

'He hasnt eaten lunch yet. how could this be.' Addison thought.

"Okay. But, I'm going to pay for the food that I'll eat. I have to call my friend." Addison looked for her cellphone.

"Fine. What are you looking for?"

"My phone. The heck I left it in the house."

"Here, use mine."

"No, I can't do that Sir. You have treated me so nicely, I can't pay you back..."

"Dont worry about that. just go ahead and call your friend therefore she wouldn't worry." Addison took his phone and dialed Callie's number.

"Hey, Callie, I'll be having dinner outside. I hope you've eaten yours already. What do you want me to bring home?"

"Desserts would be fine Hyoyeonie. yeah. I already ate. Who's with you? Whos number is this?"

"Uhh. Mr. Alex."

"What? Youre with him? Hey! ADDISON MONTGOMERY!"

"Bye Callie, I'll be home soon" Addison hung up on her before she ask things and she breathed deeply.

"Callie is your sister? You live with her?"

She nodded.

"Callie is my friend Sir. You know her?"

"Well, yeah. She had delivered many reports in my office and she's a very good employee." Addison stay in silent, "And I told you it's just Alex," he look at her for a minute.

"I cannot just call you by you first name SIR, because I just started working and I don't want people to misunderstood. I want to have a peaceful life here, so I'll stick with SIR or MR. KAREV," Addison stated and stare at him, letting him know that she is serious.

All Alex can do is give up and laugh while turning his attention to the road. "She's definitely something." He thought to himself

After their dinner, Alex brought Addison home. "Well, I'll see you in the office." Alex said and drove off.

When Addison entered the house she heard someone screams her name.

"ADDISON MONTGOMERY!" Callie was standing in the living room and made her sit. "Since when did you and the boss got so close?" Callie immediately sat next to her friend.

"We're not close, He just felt guilty of what happened in the office that's why he invited me for dinner."

"What happened in the office?"

"I havent got the chance to eat lunch because my wallet was with him. he said he saw it on the floor when he helped me."

"But, its really unusual for Mr. Alexander to do that. I mean, he really is very kind to every employee but never have asked anyone out before. You're lucky."

"I'm not." Addison stood up and went to her room.

For the passing days Alex, Addison, and Callie got close. When one sunday, a car arrived infront of Callie's house.

"Oh. Mr. Kaver, why are you here?" Callie said as she opened the door.

"Calliope. Don't call me like that, don't be stubborn like your friend," he said jokingly, the both laugh "Besides were about the same age and I came here as a friend and not your boss. Call me Alex, my close friends call me with that."

"Then call me Callie, my father calls me Calliope. Anyway, why did you come?" Callie made Alex sit in the living room, she was about to serve some juice when Addison came.

"Who's at the- " Addison stop mid sentence when she saw Alex. "Oh, Sir. What... What are you doing here?"

"See Callie, stubborn. Addison I told you not to call me that. Alex is nicer to hear." Addison just nodded.

When the three of them are now sitted, Alex breaks the tension.

"You have a nice place Callie."

"Oh. Thank you Si- I mean Alex." Callie smiled.

"Oh, and I have another thing I want to tell to both of you."

"What is it?" Addison asked

"Well, actually, I want you to treat me as a friend and not your boss, even when were at the company. It's really disturbing that everyone, older or younger respects me so much."

"Well, your the owner that's why we have to do that." Callie said.

"I know, but it's more nice to work if some people don't act the same with others. Do you get what I mean?" Addison and Callie nodded.

"Well in that case. Alex, I'm Addison. It is very nice to meet you," Addison first introduce herself, offering a friendly shake hands.

Alex smiled on how cute she is and said "That's more like it." then accepted Addison's handshake, he looked at Callie.

"Whatever loser." Callie teases him.

"Callie," Addison hissed

"I was just joking," she held out her hand for handshake "friends."

Alex gladly accept it, "friends."

The three became close naturally, that same day, after dinner. They have talked about everything and also told that Addison left her mom, but they didnt told him the reason. They were eating desserts when.

"Hey! It wasn't me, it was you! I didn't-" Addison held on her mouth. "Excuse me." She ran to the bathroom.

"What happened to her?" Alex said as he keep eating his ice cream.

"Maybe she ate something wrong." Callie said but then she remembered something.

'She-she can't. Is she?' Callie thought to herself, she became worried for her friend.

When Addison came back. She recieved a curious look from her friends, she lowered her head and sit down quietly.

"Are you okay?" Alex asked.

"Yeah. I think I ate something that made me throw up." Addison trying to convice them and herself.

"Are you sure?" Callie asked, Addison nodded. She didn't have any idea of what her friend is thinking. Callie kept that thought to herself.

Next morning at the office, one of Addison's co-worker find her unwell.

"Addison, are you okay?" the manager of the Marketing department asked.

Callie heard what the manager asked and looked at her friend, Addison was holding her head looking sick.

She just nodded, "I think you should go home first Addison. We don't want another incident to happen here. Return to the office when you feel better."

"But" she said trying to protest.

"Just go." The manager said and left.

"Addie, I think You should just follow him. You want me to come with you?" Callie softly said.

"It's fine Callie, thank you but I can... Go. I'll just see you later at home." She stood up, fixed her things and left.

'Why am I like this? I felt dizzy starting this morning. Callie ate the same food as mine, but she's okay. Maybe, my periods about to come.' She thought while walking then she remembered.

"It's the 26th today. My period was about to begin 3 days ago. It can't be right?" Addison held her looked at her stomach and held it.

She immediately went to a store nearby and went home. She rushed to the bathroom, after a few minutes.

"I...have to accept you. Right?" Addison's tears fell while she held her stomach.

"Derek" she looked at the picture of Derek in her room. "I- I got a remembrance from you. I'll take care of it." She sat on her bed and cried for a long time then she fallen to a deep sleep.

At the office. Works done. Callie was rushing to go home when Alwx saw her.

"Hey. Going home?" Alex asked.

"Ah, yeah."

"Where's Addison?"

"She left first. She wasn't feeling well. Im going now Alex. See you." Callie said in a hurry.

"Not feeling well again? What happened to that girl? I hope she's fine." He said while he looked at Addison's picture. He got it from her wallet, he smiled.

When Callie arrived at her house, Addison was cooking and looked like she was okay, Callie went close to her.

"You okay?" Addison nodded not looking at her friend. Callie hugged her, Addison was shocked with what Callie did.

"Nothings wrong right?" She said, Hyo just nodded again.

Addison served snacks in the living room where Callie was watching dateline.

"Callie." Addison said, "Hmm? Derek-." Callie looked at her friend, that's when Addison started to cry again.

"Oh, Addie. That was what I was worrying about. Come here." Callie said as she hugged her.

"Im going to have my first child." Addison announce in tears.

"Let's go for a check up on the weekend. Okay? And dont go to work." Callie said.

"No! I need money. I'll go to work." She protest.

"Addison, don't be stubborn."

"Im not, how can I give birth to this child if I dont have money. You cant always give me, you have your own family you give your extra cash to."

"Derek."

"No. He... Not yet." Addison said. "I dont know. Whenever? I just- I cant right now."

"Fine. Atleast you should tell Bizzt about that!" Callie said as she walked out.

"Callie." Addison whisphered then she looked at her phone, she dialed her mother's number.

"Hello?" Someone said on the other line.

"Mommy." Addison said, a hint of sadness was present on her voice.

"Addison! Oh, my baby, why have you called just now. Im so worried about you. Are you okay? Where are you? I wanna see you now."

"Mom, I'm fine. You dont have to worry. Are you okay? Are you sleeping well?"

"You know me. Im as strong as a teenager. Please, tell me where you're leaving so I can visit you."

"I-I'll meet you up at the old store near our house on saturday morning. please, don't tell Dere about this mom. Please."

"But, Derek. He's worried about you, e comes here everyday just to check if you returned. Even with his busy schedule now. Have you seen him? He finally..."

"Yes, I saw. So, I'll see you on saturday then. Dont tell him. Bye." Addison put down her phone and hugged her knees.

"I wish your here, mommy." Callie heard everything and went to hug Addison.

"You made the right desicion, I'm proud of you."

It was a weekend, Addison's mother was early to arrive at the old store near their house. She was very excited to see her only daughter again. Then, a car stopped infront of her. Addison went out and greeted her mom, and made her ride the car.

"Mom. This is Callie a friend of mine. She's been the one taking care of me this past few weeks." Addison introduced them.

"Hello Callie."

"Good morning Mrs. Montgomery," Callie smile while driving.

"Call me Bizzy, and thank you for taking care of my baby."

"Mom," Addison feel embarrassed by her mother's nickname to her.

"What?" Bizzy said. Addison just rolled her eye and Callie just laugh at them.

"It's not a problem, I have a spare room and I treat Addie as a sister," Callie smiled at her through the mirror.

"Where are we going anyway? Arent we going to your house Callie?"

"Oh. later mom. We're going somewhere else for now." Addison explain.

Few minutes later, they have arrived at the hospital.

"What are we doing here? Are you sick? Is something wrong Addie?" Bizzy asked her.

"Nothing's wrong mom. Just follow us first." She said as they entered the hospital.

"We have a scheduled appointment with Dr. De luca." Callie said to the attendant.

"May I know your name please."

"Addison Montgomery."

"This way ma'am. Please sit down, Dr. De Luca will arrive in a while." The three are waiting for the doctor to arrive.

"Ahm. What are we really doing here Addison? Dr. De Luca, an OBGYN? Are you pregnant Callie?" Bizzy asked.

Callie was shock by the question, she denied it immediately "No, no. Not me Bizzy."

Dr. De Luca entered the room "Calliope Torres. You're here, long time no see."

"Hey, Carina. You're as beautiful as always." Callie said as she hugged Carina.

"Oh. You must be Addison Montgomery." Dr. De Luca said as she shook her hand.

"Come on. Let's do some tests." Dr. De Luca made Addison enter another room while Callie and Bizzy waited outside.

After a few minutes, everyone was sitting infront of Dr. De Luca's desk.

"Addie, your pregnant?" Bizzy asked her daughter, Addison nodded and looked down. Bizzy hugged her. "Why didn't you tell me?"

"I just found out recently. I'm sorry." Addison hugged her mom tightly.

"Who is the father?"

Then Dr. De Luca came in. "I have the results." she smiled.

"It seems that Addison is 6 weeks pregnant, you're morning sickness will be gone in a period of time, and you must go to me twice a month for now. Okay. You're baby's healthy." Dr. De Luca smiled.

"Thank you Carina, we'll see you next time then." Carina nodded.

When they reach home, "Addison, don't you want to come home with me? I can take care of you there." Bizzy suggested.

"I'm okay here. I don't want to go home yet mom." Addison said.

"Why?"

"I- Ican't tell you yet. But please, understand me."

"Okay okay, I dont want to argue with you now. But I'll come here often, okay."

"Yes please, don't tell Derek about this." Bizzy just nodded.

The next few weeks, it back to normal. Addison still went to the office.

Alex called Callie in his office "Hey loser. You called for me?" Callie said as she entered.

"I need your help Calliope." Callie glaired at him, he just smirk.

It's always like that with the two of them, since the three of them started to get close. Callie and Alex always tease each other, whenever they are. Today is no exeption.

"About what?"

"Addison. I-I Like her, I really do." Alex confess.

"Oh shit. I think thats not a good idea right now..."

"Why? You think I'm not good enough?" Callie could not answer, it's not her place to tell people what Addison is going through at the moment.

"Can you please bring her to this place later." Alex handed her a piece of paper.

"But Alex. I really think its not a good idea."

"I'm just going to say it to her. I thought about it a couple of times now and I wont lose anything if I say it right? I just want to be honest to her Callie. I want to let her know what I feel."

Callie can see the sincerity in Alex's eyes. "I'll see what I can do. I'll just text you."

"Thank you." Alex said then Callie left.

When working hours are over, Callie execute Alex's plan.

"Addie. Let's go to some place first." Callie suggested.

"Sure, where?" Addison said.

"Trust me," Addison jus nod.

When they've reach the destination, they went to the rooftop of a hotel, it was a garden rooftop.

"What are we doing here?" Addison ask as she came in.

Then the lights were turned on, Addison found herself walking in a red carpet going to a table. She received a text from Callie that she's going to wait in a cafe on the next building, once she got into the table. Alex came in with roses on his hand, he gave her the roses.

"Alex, what's with all this?" Addison said as she was still looking around.

"Let's talk about that later, how about we eat dinner first." Alex made her sit.

They eat the dishes that was prepared for them, and stick to light conversation, when they finised eating.

"So..." Addison started.

"You want some wine?" Alex asked.

"I-I can't. What's going on?"

"Okay." Alex took a deep breath. "Addison Forbes Montgomery, I really really like you. Everytime I see you smile, I also smile. I like seeing you having fun and I feel really worried to death everytime you feel sick. You always makes my day complete." Addison looked down "Will you be my girlfriend?" Alex went beside her and smiled.

Addison looked at him. "Alex, I-I Can't. Im sorry."

"Wh-Why?" Alex looked in her eyes.

"Your my friend that's why Im telling you these and I hope you understand. I dont hate you Alex, and I also don't want you to keep on thinking why I rejected this... But, I'm 12weeks pregnant." Hyo said as she stood up.

Alex was just standing there. Addison held his hands and said thank you, then she started to walk away.

The next few days, Addison would still go to work and Alex would just smile to them then walk off, unlike the old Alex who would stop by and talk. She didn't knew that he was watching her every move. She would go to work wearing big blouses or jackets to cover her bump, but when she can't hide it anymore, she filed a leave.

Addison was now 7 months pregnant, her mom would always go to her daughter and teach her mother stuffs.

Fee days later, there's unexpected visitor at their house.

"Alex? Come- in." Callie said as she opened the door.

"Hi. Long time no talk?" Alex smiled.

"What brings you here?"

"Where is she?" As soons as the words left his mouth Addison appeared in the living room.

"He-hello." Addison smiled weakly.

Taeyang brought a basket full of fruits. "Wow. You look, big." Alex said, Callie giggled.

"Uhh, thank you?" Addison sat down.

"How are you? How's the baby?" Alex asked.

"We're both fine." Addison said. "Alex, Im.. Sorry.."

"No worries. I understand." Alex said.

"So, is it a he or a she?"

"Actually, were about to go to the doctor." Callie said as she brougt out her car keys.

"Can I come?" Alex said.

"Sure." Addison agree.

During the car ride on the way to the hospital, there's an awkward tension. Callie and Alex started teasing each other as if nothing has change, and Addison just watch their banters, sometimes engaging with them.

When they arrived at the hospital, Dr. De Luca already in the room.

"Addison, what gender do you think it is?" Dr. De Luca asked her cheerfully.

"Well, all this time, I've been dreaming of a baby boy. I think it's a boy." Addison answer.

"Congratulations Mommy! It is a boy." Dr. De Luca said.

"Oh, Im going to have a nephew." Callie said, Addison smiled widely.

"We should tell mom."

"I'll call her." Callie said. "Oh, and Addison I need to go to my father's house. Would it be okay if Alex brings you home?"

"Oh. Okay. Take care."

"You too." Callie smiled and nodded at Alex.

"So, you ready to go?" Alex asked, Addison just nodded.

"I'll stay here first so that when you need something while Calliope's not yet here." Alex said as he helped Addison come out of the car.

"If Callie is here, she would kill you by her glare because you called her Calliope, you know she hates that."

Alex laugh at her statement, "She definitely would."

When they were in the living room, Alex went to sit beside Addison and made her look at him.

"Addie. Let- Let me take care of you and your child." Alex said.

"I already have Callie and my mom, You dont-"

"I would really like to take care of the both of you. Please, let me." Alwx said while looking at Addison's eyes.

"But, you don't have anything to do with this baby Alex. I wouldn't want you to be stressed out. Youre working hard at the company, you wont have enough.."

"Addison. I want to take care of you. I really really do. even if you wouldn't let me, I will still do it." Addison couldn't argue with him anymore.

"I will move out here." Addison said to him.

"Why?"

"Well, I dont want Callie to have a problem with Marcus."

"Marcus?"

"Yes. That's my baby's name."

"So, you prepared for a name already. Well, it sounds nice." Alex smiled.

"Little Marcus." He said as he touched Addison's stomach, it brought a smile to Addison.

"Well, you're help will be needed when I move out."

"No problem with that."
