The Thing are parasite life forms whose origins are unknown but they have arrived in our world on a spaceship. They would have managed to assimilate the entire planet if they hadn't landed in the coldest place in this world and were subsequently frozen. They remained frozen for possibly centuries or even more but they were awakened after being exposed to demonic energy from the new Demon Lord. Now instead of assimilating life forms, the Things now have a want for assimilating semen and a want for a husband.

For a Thing to be created it can be either born regularly by the Things or by assimilating a woman though they can't do it with monster girls or males. Despite being assimilated the female still considers herself as her own person as the thing merged itself with the personality of the female.

When the things usually find a husband they always try to win him over by the means a normal female human usually does. They can do so for months or years, but are very patient when it comes to waiting. When the things do manage to get a husband they usually reveal their forms to them and usually use their tendrils or newly constructed organs that can be used for sex. Of course, throughout this, the things always make it so their husband won't forget being pleasured by them.

The present-day things mostly live in the UFO that crash-landed in. They normally don't have a leader but the former pilot of the UFO now turned thing is leading them. The things then allied with the Demon Lord because they want husbands alongside assimilating semen.

The things are well known for assimilating small creatures, semen, and food. They are known for their shapeshifting abilities, able to use their biomass to form tendrils, claws, and other limbs when in combat, but also retain a seemingly normal female humanoid form if possible. They can of course replicate anything from the female they assimilated which includes their personalities down to simple things.

The things are known for their intelligence, being able to know complex things such as the UFO that crash-landed on our world and were able to fix it due to them assimilating the alien crew of the ship. Because of this, they are sought after by the arachnotrons and true kappas for help on their knowledge of advanced technology.

The things always assume a normal female form that varies in appearance, but when in combat, sex, or in assimilating process they would have claws, tentacles, insect-like limbs, eyes, teeth, claws, and other limbs.

A/n: This newest chapter was released on October 30, 2020, which means it's HALLOWEEN! Happy Halloween everybody! I do hope you are all good in your homes avoiding being infected by the coronavirus...and of course, after a long time of being inactive, we have a horror monster from John Carpenter's The Thing, known as the Thing!

Also, I just realized this but Among Us is a bit similar to the Thing in the sense that the crewmates have to find the imposter which is of course similar to the people in the Antarctica research station trying to find the things who have replicated and are posing as other people. Makes me wonder if Among Us took inspiration from John Carpenter's the Thing…
