Fire in the Twilight
Sagi remained still with her hand under her chin as she clandestinely held the strap of her book bag, which held a sleeping Rhett Butler, whom she grew attached to.
She felt uneasy. She was not sure why, but she felt chills run up the back of her spine and soothed his head through the crack of her zipper. Nothing happened, but every time there was silence in the past for a while, something else would throw her off balance.
She did not believe it was Sarah, even though she still kept her eye out. Deep in her gut, Sarah has purposely kept her distance since their fight, and no longer bothered her. They were not friends at all, but as long as they did not speak, they were fine.
Luckily, so far, there has been peace between her and her roommate. Despite the fact that Rhett Butler still would not warm up to Seiya, nor her to the cat, rules were followed, and she was respected with space and silence. So were those friends of hers. She noticed they hardly stepped into the room. This she was able to deal with.
She fed him a lot of food. It's been like that for a while. Like the rule that was set by that senior, she took him everywhere with her.
Everywhere.
She skipped meals so that he would eat, only settling once in a while with an apple. He needed to eat. There were times when she felt dizzy, but she loved him. He was happy with the food, sleep, and constant affection. Funny enough she did not menstruate that much, which she was thankful for. Having RB eased her mind.
But why did she feel sick in her gut? Paprika ended the session as the girls sighed with relief and moved as the bell rang.
Girls rushed throughout the hallways, catching up on gossip in between. Smiles and kisses on the cheeks were welcomed as lockers opened and shut. Guards moved around in silence, looking for an excuse to show superiority. They were not as bad as that Beryl woman. She was taking a break from her injuries, mostly kept to basic duty at assemblies. It seemed the atmosphere was lighter. There was hardly time for friendships to mingle, as the workload started to increase in the middle of the year, and research papers started to increase in demand. Grammars. Etiquette. Problems. Experiments. History. Exercise. Repeat. It grew exhausting, especially for the young ladies that had extra curricular activities after required classes, and those who rehearse for the Rose recital.
She pants in her chest as she walks with the bookbag on her back. Pencils, pens and erasers moved and pinched her within her pockets. She carried her books in her arms, which caused a strain on her elbows, lower back and forearms, but she did not mind at all. Besides, she had to keep her space in her bag clear within reason, making space for her new best furry friend.
Oh, it was a mission to clean him up a few times, especially since he ate so much. There were times she had to be stern from wanting him to move over the edge of the windows when they were alone, or rushing to her roommate's side of the room, or getting ready to urinate or poop in her bag. She lacked rest and her attention started to derail from her studies, despite that she didn't miss class. She managed to have passable grades as she started to study harder, and started to be firm with turning down outings. Usually friends like Larxene would pummel her into going out, along with the persuasions of Elsie, her Onee, or the encouragement of Miyu or Siren to make her relax for a little bit. But she kept herself busy, or pretended to forget invitations and go into a secret clove within the garden walls to let RB run around, moving to her as he ate. Oh, it was a mission to clean him up a few times, especially since he ate so much. But she was grateful, despite his earnestness to want to go run around and be wild, her tenderness kept him stable…
For now.
…
Instruments, singing, acting, and footsteps echoed throughout the grand auditorium. Seniors rushed around the darkness, chattering, prepping for their main recital. Mistress Minako called out names for those who needed to go perform on stage. Other performers rehearsed on the sides of the aisles or within the curtains of the side wings. Many remained within the greenroom, practicing their make up and putting on their costumes. Some groups remained on the floor, feeling lazy and exhausted.
"Oh my God I cannot wait for this to be over." Xion chanted.
"I know." A girl said.
"I am hungry." Larxene chanted as she remained on the dresser, putting on white makeup all over her face with her extravagant costume.
"Didn't you just eat?" The blue haired senior responded with a frown.
"Yeah, I'm still hungry."
A few girls remained on the dresser, perfecting their eyeshadows, lipsticks, eyeliners, foundations, hairstyles, and perfumes. The girls continued to be heard in the background, Some groups were up, practicing their dance steps, groups of ten, six, four, etc... Elsie giggled as she started cracking jokes with the groups.
"Look at my bootay..." She shook her hips, chanting as she moved into a salsa dance as the girls joined her for fun.
The majority of them decided to practice some simple steps, doing basic dance steps. Sometimes when they were called on stage, and would get tired, they would hold back from going all out to save their energy for the real thing.
A small group remained in the corner, further away from the others, rehearsed on their own.
Haruka remained studying her music sheets as Michiru kept her eyes closed in meditation while she held her violin. Taiki lead Yaten and Seiya with vocal and body warm ups, ranging from tongue twisters to breathing techniques to running their lines, or in Seiya's case, her songs. The black haired senior would sometimes pull away to hum, or practice her choreography. She would start blowing out through her lips for minutes on ends until her lips would tingle with vibrations.
Seiya practiced as she briefly thought of the new uninvited furry roommate that invaded both hers and her roommate's life. Goddess, did that demon irritated the shit out of her. But so far, that sophomore stuck to her rules and kept him by her side the entire time.
The entire time…
The senior caught the blonde a few times taking her pet to the bathroom whenever she had to go do her business. She couldn't comprehend the attachment that girl had with that vicious animal. He still hissed at her with warnings whenever she entered the room and passed her roommate onwards to her bed, or go into the restroom as he was carried out by her roommate. Her best friends stopped visiting as they did not feel like being in the same room as him, so she had to visit them. She didn't mind so much. Besides, that sophomore still didn't speak to her, nor looked at her, nor her friends. She avoided her at all costs, so they did the same in return.
But Yurenkasykuya derailed him everytime he watched the senior and thought of attacking her, keeping a strong hold of that squirming, hyper, enormous weight within her short arms. He was larger than that girl's torso. But she was a true parent to him in the sense of being stern, chastising him whenever he thought of misbehaving, and then she would coo into his head as he would meow up to his young owner with affection, getting immediately fed as a reward. The senior did wonder if he really got tired of being stuck inside, knowing he was a wild cat. Any creature being forced to be cooped up in a small space would go postal. Her friends mentioned that one day he might turn on the sophomore, and it would be only a matter of time. It was definitely a possibility. So far, he remained quiet.
For now.
…
At times, all the girls would switch taking bathroom breaks, water breaks, and going on stage to test lighting and sound cues, practice with props, change set designs, and try on different wardrobes.
Seiya finished drinking her water as she passed by a few girls who looked at her with excitement.
"You guys are so good." They whispered with their thumbs up. She nodded her thanks as she remained focus and continued practicing, relentless in her perfection along with her best friends, who continued with their exercises and preparation.
They were exhausted, but they never complained, kept their cool, and gave it their all everytime, without fail, especially when each of them were called to stage by their Mistress.
Divinity would vacuum the room as grace would settle itself in their demeanors, especially with these five best friends, unifying their gifts and their spirits. It was never said out loud, but greatness separated them from their peers.
…
Sagi remained on the ground as she watched Rhett Butler move around, meowing as he chased a butterfly (mostly trying to eat it). She tried to dissuade him from going after the innocent creature, and he did glare at her in silence in response. Eventually they had somewhat of a mutual agreement. Continue to give him food. Continue to go into her bag and stay by her side.
Her mind drifted off to her parents. They've been acting strange. She couldn't explain it, and when she used to be with them, she never noticed before, but there was a coldness to them, the more she remained physically separated, especially when she would inquire of Galexia. At home, Sagi would see her mother giving her full attention to Galexia. Her father would several times, without knowing what he does. Galexia would remain stationary next to her mother, her fiance, or his mother. Not to mistaken, they did love her. They all did. But there was definitely a shut down or a rank of submission whenever she would want them to notice her. It was like she had to hustle and struggle in order for them to give her a true comment on her life. It was always generic. Compared to her sister, she was the one that was always hidden, never in the spotlight.
But now, it seems like that might work to her advantage, she didn't know why, but that was something that she felt as of late. It was probably better to be ignored and keep her private matters private.
A few times, she requested to have a sisterly chat with her, but her mother and father always remained within earshot, answering on her behalf, especially her mother. She could tell because a few times when Galexia was at home and she did manage to get her on the phone, it was like someone else was on the line listening in, especially when their voices would echo a bit, and hearing someone breathing in silence. It kind of creeped her out. She loved her family, but she did not know what to think of the whole situation, or them. This was a sad fact that her eyes were opening to in realization.. Sagi remembered the conversation she had with Siren, along Elsie a few times, and would catch Sarah's eye whenever she went to gym, and listened to her own gut, staying silent about their encounter. Intuition never failed her. She never dreamed she would keep secrets from her family so much, but now she felt like she was a alien, visiting another galaxy. Her sister's voice sounded a bit estranged. Eventually, Sagi would be submitted to ask advice on how to deal with assignments, which Galexia would give her detached, automatic responses to general instructions, but never going into detail or get emotionally attach to her life. Nor did her parents…
Isolation.
She was so happy she had Rhett Butler, despite the fact that he would be unsettled in her book bag, he loved her. He would never leave her. And she loves him.
"Sagi Chan!"
She turned and smiled as a few girls from her class walked over.
"What are you doing-?" A girl paused and gasped as the cat growled at her.
"Rhett Butler." Sagi chastised him as he meowed with affection. She sighed and rubbed in the back of his ears.
"You should check the Samas and Sempais out at rehearsal! The girls are getting ready to put on another show for us. It's going to be fantastic."
"Um…" She looked over at RB as one of them sighed.
"He is taking over your life, ne?"
"It's fine."
"Sagi Chan, with all due respect, you do need a life."
"Iie, I'm fine." Sagi smiled as she rubbed Rhett Butler.
"How did you get him to be nice to you?"
"Oh… I just talk to him."
"Okay… well, if you decide to rejoin the world, let us know!" Another girl chanted as they giggled. The sophomore smiled and waved them off.
"Daijabou."
"Ne, okay girls, let's go to the Rose Recital!"
…
Longing
Seiya remained behind as she just finished her performance, breathing slowly, calming down from her heart palpitating. She wiped her eyes from the emotions she would experience on stage, and with her dance, and with that song. Haruka would say nothing beyond her happiness for her performance, but she could tell that her sandy blonde best friend was affected by it as well. It reflected them both. Something that neither she nor her was ready to reveal to anyone…
She saw her holding her aqua haired best friend, and smiling. She was so happy for her, and them. There was also her other best friends, who would talk to each other intimately. She would never admit it out loud, but she felt envy inside of herself. Jealous. She did not know what else would brew in her heart. She loved them all. There was never a doubt. But she wished she had what they had as well. Kou was known to have dated a lot of older women. She never pursued anyone younger. Part of it was because of the maturity level. Other parts of it, subconsciously, was because she wanted to prove her worth.
She remembered back at a local grocery store that she stepped into with Haruka, back as younger teens, before they dated, how the stupid grocery man was to them, especially her. Due to her ebony hair, the old man (around his eighties) stated that she had hair like teriyaki sauce, and that Haruka's hair was like a blondie brownie, and that it would be funny if anyone they married would try to eat their hair. She was beyond insulted, along Haruka, and hated that old man, especially when he started to crack up like a hyena. She also felt insecure a bit, because older women at the time, attractive women, were shopping, heard him, and started to giggle like crazy. It was also crazy how the comment of the old man at the grocery story affected her with that horrible definition of her hair. She knew it was silly, but she was too proud of her hair. She ran out, and Haruka followed behind. Her best friend comforted her then, and they grew closer.
Back at school, their group have been bullied to the extreme, due to being gay. And she and Haruka experienced something tragic one time that was too hurtful to mention out loud. They could not even tell Sarah, Taiki or Yaten, Elsie or Miyu, nor Kakyuu or Galexia when they appeared later. At the time, Haruka non exclusively dated Sarah. Then after that incident, those two broke it off, and she then dated her. Part of it, was because of what they went through together, and they resonated with each other and seeking comfort. Most of it, was because of their feelings for each other that they had to hold off due to Sarah. They were in their first relationship with each other, and were intimate throughout as well. Then Michiru came into the picture, shook Haruka's world, and they broke it off.
It was silly at the time, the anger she felt for her sandy blonde best friend at the time, to the point where she kissed Michiru once in surprise to avenge the heartbreak a bit. She and Haruka got into a fight because of it, and they both cried and apologized into a hug. On and off, in their drunkenness at night parties, the girls fooled around a bit, and would forget about it the next day. Kakyuu, her older friend, came afterwards when she was a sophomore and dated her until graduation. It took her excess feelings off of being lonely. It was a nice relationship, but something was missing between them, despite being intimate with each other. Kakyuu went to college after their break up, met someone new and is happy now. They are still friends via pen pal. Then when her ex graduated, she decided briefly to date guys and met Diamond. It was very brief. She ended up breaking it off with him as she knew she only liked girls, not to mention he became superficial.
Over time, their group gained respect by their peers, especially since they have excelled in every subject, especially athletics and the performing arts. She dated more women since then. But even with all those dates, even as she fooled around with them, she never went as far as she went with her two exes of the past. She felt empty with those women, even with the kisses. But damn, she was lonely, and wanted company. She craved something that she believed she could not have.
Love.
Seiya breathed as she shut her eyes. She mediated through her emotions. She had to focus on Julliard, as well as her career in life. She focused back on her art, which was her main escape, and decided to just be in the now.
Her mind traveled to that roommate. Seiya opened her eyes as visions of that blonde sophomore continued on. There was a history there with her family, remembering Galexia when she dumped Sarah at graduation. She didn't care for anyone who was against inequality, so she could care less of that family. But she was definitely curious of the blonde beauty. What was her story? Is she passive of her family's opinions? Does she even know of Galexia and Sarah?
Elsie pretty much adopted her as a little sister. Her and Miyu are like mother hens. Siren fluctuates between being a sister, or wanting to be a potential interest of something more to that blonde. Subconsciously, led grew in her stomach when that thought crossed her mind between the sophomore and Siren. Seiya shook her thought away. From their group conversations, she discovered Sagi was studying with a governess before she arrived at their school from what Elsie and Miyu told her, as well as their junior friend, Siren. As for Galexia, who was a senior then, when they were sophomores, Sarah was the only one who was close to her. The senior was nice at that time, but she kept her distant from many people. She only remembered Sarah crying out to Galexia as the graduate ignored her that horrible day, standing with her mother, father, and a man in his twenties, embracing Galexia. But there was no sign of that sophomore with them, at all. It was not realized until now. She noticed that Sagi was never at her sister's' graduation. That is why neither of them has ever seen her before, or has known of her being Galexia's sister, which the knowledge came later. Other graduates' families came with their younger siblings, but she noticed the young Yurenkasykuya was nowhere in sight that day. Seiya frowned as she pondered on that fact.
Why wasn't she at her sister's graduation?
Despite their bad blood between them, thank Sarah's shit perspective that started this whole mess, she did wonder what her story was. It turns out, she doesn't really know her as a person, at all, even though they have shared a room for a while now. She also doesn't know Sagi's relationship with the family. It was like that sophomore was out of this world. She was silent, had a light side with her friends, and a dark side towards her and best friends, along Sarah, Beryl, and Maria, with reason. She could tell she was seen by everybody, and easily approached, but remained isolated in mystery…
Like the Moon.
That girl hardly spoke to anyone, expect when being nurtured by her friends, Elsie and Miyu, as well as Siren, and the strange seniors, Larxene and Xion. And when she did speak, it was courteous, mature, and seemed kind, but if you got on her bad side, she was cold as ice, and sharp as a sword.
Literally, she was in her own galaxy, especially with that… Cat… who was like a meteor that crashed onto her surface. Seiya pondered some more as she witnessed Sagi coddling the cat in her arms, seeing constant tenderness, smiles, and laughter with him. Oh yes, she did catch a few times where the cat would get irritated by being claustrophobic, being wild in nature, and scratching his owner's skin with a hiss. Sagi never complained. She would subtly flinch and continued to give love and care to him, despite the fact that he doesn't deserve it whatsoever. Anybody else would have tossed him out the door or place him in a pound. Sagi, literally, was an example of unconditional love. That person came as a big surprise into her life. It started out bad, but now it was just completely mysterious.
Seiya subconsciously has never met someone like her before, being so witty, making snide remarks to her senpais and having no respect, the look that sophomore made whenever she was annoyed or angry, especially when she and her best friends teased her with their terms of endearments, irritated her, and subconsciously, tickled her funny bone.v
Odango.
A subtle, soft smile started to form on the corners of her lips.
…
Sometimes you don't know what's in front of you until it hits you. Sagi bit her nails. It was a horrible nasty habit, but she felt so many nerves. It was getting tricky controlling Rhett Butler. A few times, he hissed at her, as he wanted to bite some birds. There were many times he would growl when girls would pass her by, and he struggled to move out of her bookbag. She wished she would let him run free, but Goddess only knew what would happen to him if she did. He would be tossed out and hurt by the others. She knew Beryl was hunting for him. A few times she caught the nasty guard glaring at her, aching in her back, and making sneer comments that she was still hunting to get that cat and mutilate him. Damn, that woman was NASTY. But Sagi said nothing in return, pretended like she did not know what she was talking about, and on her spare times, she soothed him with treats, even with the red scratches on her arms when he would act up, she gave him tenderness. She is managing to pass her classes thus far, but her teachers have pulled her aside and spoke to her that she needed to be vigilant with her grades, as they were on the fence of slipping. Her parents were too busy to talk. Her sister refused to talk with her. She gave up. Everything seemed peaceful, and since her roommate and those friends of hers were gone most of the time due to practice, she was at ease.
Then, later that week, the shit hit the fan as the door to her room swung open with a big bang-
"THERE! YOU!" Beryl snarled in anger as she pointed her knarly finger.
Rhett Butler started to hiss at Beryl as Sagi was dead silent, holding him tight, seeing Lady San glaring at her and the cat in disbelief. She didn't know how the two found out, but they did. The roommate was gone at rehearsals.
"Yurenkasykuya, get up and meet me in the office. You and that-THING. NOW!"
"GIVE ME THE CAT!" Beryl hissed in pain.
"IIIE!" Sagi hissed in anger as the Principal frowned.
"SUMIMASEN YURENKASYKUYA?!"
The girls in the dorms were in fear and wide eyed at the adults and at the sophomore, who held the hissing Rhett Butler as she slowly flinched and got up, glaring at Beryl.
"She threatened to have Rhett Butler killed. I don't want him killed at all."
"Yurenkasykuya, to my office, I will not ask you again." Lady San hissed in anger as Sagi breathed and tilted her head up, holding the oversized cat close to her body as she moved pass the angry guard, dodging her as she attempted to retrieve the animal and walking ahead of the principal. Beryl flinched in pain.
"You little BRAT! THAT FILTHY ANIMAL IS DEAD." She hissed.
"Go to the nurse, Beryl San, attend to your wounds. I will deal with them." Lady San hissed, who immediately left as the door slammed.
Some seniors from their dorms breathed in silence. They secretly waited before they followed the sophomore Lady San to the office.
Sagi breathed, holding the oversized purring cat, as she went inside the office. Lady San glared at her as she remained red in the face. Her pink hair moved in a frenzy as she sat down.
Some students from other classes secretly watched her from outside the door as they saw her remaining stoic and still, holding the furball who nuzzled into her chest.
"Close the door." Lady's San's voice vibrated as the sophomore moved her hand to the knob, shutting the door behind her.
…
"What in the devil's name do you think you are running here with IT?! A CIRCUS?! AT MY SCHOOL?!"
"Gomen Nasai, Principal. I… Rhett Butler-"
"WHAT?!"
"He was scared, trapped in a tree. I climbed up and brought him down-"
"Do you know what would've happened if you fell down and broke you neck?! Your parents would have had the biggest lawsuit on our heads. We would be banished from business on a permanent basis!"
"It was not my intention, Mistress Lady."
"AS it is not your intention to continue having it under this roof! IT is to be REMOVED! IMMEDIATELY!"
"I don't want him killed-"
"YURENKASYKUYA! I WOULD CONSIDER EXPELLING YOU IF YOU KEEP TALKING!" Lady San was angry as she breathed and remained silent. Sagi's tears started rolling down her cheeks.
"IT IS TO BE REMOVED AND I WILL NOT HAVE ANOTHER WORD! AM I CLEAR?!"
A couple of guards came in as she breathed in anger.
"Take this beast and toss him to the street. And Yurenkasykuya, you are to go back to your room. NOW."
Sagi hyperventilated but said nothing as the cat meowed and hissed in anger, biting the guards as it jumped off her arms and ran down the hallway. The girls screamed as it moved outside. Lady San noticed parents coming in as she commanded everyone to be quiet.
"GET OUT!" She commanded to the teen.
The sophomore breathed once the guards disappeared. She moved outside and started to head in the direction of the dorms. But the moment the guards noticed a few students trying to skip school, she noticed Rhett Butler running off into the streets.
"Nani! You're going to get in trouble, go back to your dorms!" A girl whispered in disbelief.
Sagi glared at the prefects, making them shudder as she turned and walked back to the room. She was heavy in her periods again, and she felt trickling down her leg, but ignored it.
...
Somehow, seniors had the responsibility of watching over their juniors, and some took it too seriously with an ego. She remained with her eyes ahead on the walk upstairs, angry that she lost the one thing she loved in this world. Her heart was rapidly speeding, threatening to stop. She lost her breath.
Slowly, she moved into the room and shut the door. Thankfully no one was there. She refused to do any work as she dropped her bookbag. Hyperventilating, she looked out the window, thinking of RB, who ran away just now. Alone. Scared. And unknowing…
The door behind her opened, someone moving in, but she heard no noise. Inquiries started to form as her eyes rolled up and her body faltered towards the ground, blacking out.
"Nani! Sagi!"
Elsie shouted in fear seeing Sagi, who was limp in Seiya's arms. The black haired senior kept her close as she delicately laid her down, going down to hold her better. Softly, she started to coerce Sagi to wake up with whispers.
"Sagi?" Seiya whispered to her in disbelief as she felt her still breathing, but knocked out.
Larxene saw her with Xion and rushed in, eyes widening in disbelief at the pale sophomore.
"Uh-Hotaru San! HOTARU SAN!"
"Nani, what is it girls?" The mistress came and saw the commotion, immediately rushing in to Sagi up in her arms.
"She fainted Mistress Hotaru, and she looks like she's bleeding down her legs." A girl mentioned as Hotaru hushed her as Seiya held Sagi.
"I'm bring her to the nurse, go back to your room girls, please!" Setsuna was walking up the stairs, noticed Sagi, and took her into her arms. They brought her down as the girls watched and slowly started to gossip.
"Whoa, this is crazy today."
"Hai, first the cat being thrown out, and now her fainting."
"You think it was because of that cat?"
"She loved that cat, what else?"
"To cause her to faint…?"
"She was also bleeding down her legs, I think it was her period or something, it looked like a lot."
"Hai."
"Ladies, please-!" Elsie frowned at the gossiping seniors.
"Gomen Nasai Elsie Chan!"
"Nani, what are you guys talking about?" Seiya whispered to their peers in the hallway, exhausted from rehearsal. Elsie breathed and sighed in sadness.
"Lady San caught Sagi with him. She had him tossed out into the streets. Apparently, Sagi did not take it well, and we just found her like this now."
"The cat is gone?" Haruka whispered as she came up with Michiru as Seiya nodded. Taiki and Yaten followed behind.
"Hai, then we don't know what happened, but Sagi fainted." Elsie whispered with concern.
"Hotaru took her to the nurse just now." Xion said.
"She looked pale." Miyu whispered.
"Shit." Haruka responded in disbelief.
"Poor girl, I hope she is okay." Michiru whispered.
"Me too." Taiki stated.
"Maybe she should take it easy for rest the day." Yaten sighed.
"I'm going to check on her now." Seiya said and dropped everything in her room before she headed downstairs.
…
Anemia.
That is what she had. The nurses injected her some vitamins into her system, and told her to keep on top of her iron. They refrained her from taking birth control pills, as it would worsen her conditioning, and gave her medicine to halt the bleeding. Most of it, they felt, was due to stress. Sagi still felt weak, and asked about her heart, but the nurses stated that she was fine, even after they screened her. She was released as Setsuna spoke to the nurses. Hotaru guided her back to the dorms.
The sophomore went inside, realizing her room was occupied by the seniors on the other side of the room, as they watched her in silence.
"Just get some rest, lots of rest, drink fluids and make sure you intake more protein, okay?"
"Hai, Mistress Hotaru. Arigatou Gozaimasu." Sagi softley spoke, a bit zombified.
"Douishimashite."
"Are you okay?" Seiya asked as Sagi moved to her bed and removed her shoes.
"Hai. She needs some rest. Make sure you girls get ready soon and sleep well!" Hotaru chanted.
"Hai Mistress Hotaru."
"Oyasuminasai, Hotaru San!"
"Oyasuminasai Ladies. Sweet Dreams."
The door was shut as Sagi remained facing the wall, lying on her side and keeping her eyes shut.
The girls watched her as they wanted to say something, but felt her coldness.
"Glad you are okay, sweet dreams." Seiya spoke gently. Sagi was heard breathing, but said nothing.
"Did she fall asleep?"
Seiya knew she was being ignored, but said nothing as it seemed like it was a bad day. Besides, she was too tired to start something, and the cat was finally gone. She decided to let it go.
"Hai…"
…
Morning Comes...
Everything was a blur as her heart threatened to slow down after it's rapid speed. She pressed her hand to her chest as she seemed to have a panic attack. She wished she could take him back into her room, and that he wasn't thrown out, just to make sure he was okay. If only she was able to hunt for him-
Sagi paused in her anxiety as she thought to herself. Of course. Today was a free day. She knew how to sneak out of the school. All she had to do was time it properly. Besides, once she hunts around for Rhett Butler, she would see to it that he is taken to a safe place. Maybe there is an animal haven for him to go to, or at least bring him back to the garden, where he may wander around peacefully, and she may tend to him in secret.
Yes, that is exactly what she would do.
Leave school.
...
The seniors were out of school on their days off. The black haired senior flirted with an older woman.
"You are really lovely, Seiya."
"Are you with someone...?" She whispered.
"Are you asking?" The woman smiled as she trailed to her body.
"Maybe."
"Maybe."
Seiya looked at her and smiled, causing the older woman to smile.
"Are you with anyone?"
"Maybe."
"You are bad."
"I am."
The woman looked at her and chuckles as she blushed harder.
"My kind of girl."
...
The blond beauty hunted around any area that would attract a cat. Most likely, Rhett Butler was into food, so she neared a mom and pop's grocery store. She stepped inside, noticed an old man (in his nineties) who was playing at the register. She looked around, saw no cat, and was about to step out when she immediately hid behind the aisle, looking towards the window.
Her roommate, along with her best friends, walked on the sidewalk, passing the grocery store's window. There was a woman next to the black haired senior, who was flirting with her. Seiya briefly looked at the window, and glared a bit, it seemed, she glared the old man, who was laughing like crazy in response. She noticed the sandy blonde looking as well and frowning as they walked on. Sagi was confused. That was weird! The old man continued to laugh like a hyena, causing her to be in confusion.
Her heart was beating. As much as there was no exchange between them, she was absolutely not allowed outside of school. As of late, seniors were authorized to keep an eye on juniors, sophomores, and freshmen. It was part of their responsibility. They have been hardcore on underclassmen being outside of the school, taking their prefect duties serious to the extreme. Even though these girls don't talk to her, they were seniors. There was no way she was taking any chances being scolded and dragged back to school, especially since Rhett Butler needed her. Despite Lady San kicking him out, she loved him, and no way in hell was that principal getting in the way of her love's safety. She slowly exhaled as the seniors were out of sight.
"Teriyaki and Blondie!" He chanted in laughter as Sagi looked at him in wonder.
"Sumimasen?"
"Those girls' hair, I think anyone they are with might eat their hair." The old man chanted, making no sense. Sagi let out a smirk in disbelief as she held herself.
Teriyaki and Blondie, huh? The sophomore breathed as she pondered on the strange nicknames the old man chanted. She will put those names in the back of her pocket. She almost forgot about RB and had to leave. Bowing swiftly, she headed out.
"Arigatou Gozaimasu."
"Doishimashite."
His voice echoed as she left the store and continued on. Somehow she walked for a long time, making sure she was not seen by anyone in school.
Time passed, and she was worried. No sign of the cat. In tears, Sagi was walking far. She had no idea where she was going. She saw a group of teenage boys pass her by, along with two older teenage girls walking with them, then recognition set in as she noticed them noticing her.
"KAWAII!"
"IT'S YOU!"
It was the women who grinded on her at the club at Mermaids. She paused as they shook their head and talk to the boys, chanting that they would see them later. The boys waved them off as they took after her.
"Boa!"
"Boa!"
Sagi swallowed as she intended to leave for her own personal mission, but they intercepted her.
One of them had auburn hair, cropped short in many layers. She had a wild cool smile. The other one had long, straight black hair, smiling and giggling.
"Ah! Baby! How are you? I'm Shigeru!"
"I'm Tsukushi, come have a drink with us!"
They each took her arms as she gasped and carried her off. She was too in shock to move.
She ended up on a cafe. A skinny, tall, grouchy looking mustache man left his jacket on the chair as he went into the bathroom.
"Nani… what are you doing all by your lonesome? By the way, we loved dancing with you, until your friends butt in." The first woman chanted.
"Um… they're not… actually, I'm looking for my cat-"
"You look cold!" The other one said as she looked around and saw the man's jacket. She immediately grasped it without Sagi's notice and placed it around her shoulders.
"There you go!"
"My cat, his name is Rhett Butler. He is big-"
"Oh Hai! Hold on, let me get a drink really quick. Tell me all about him." Both women ended up getting beers.
They were drunk off the bat.
Sagi waited for them to come back to her, but they ended up chanting with the bartender, who was laughing at their demeanor. Sagi felt a presence and she thought she heard a cat meowing, and took off from the cafe. As she turned around the corner, she noticed kids were playing around, barking and meowing, making animal noises. Frowning, she ran off as a man's voice cursed from the cafe, calling out along with the women's voices, but she was unable to hear them. She ended up running off, far away.
...
Haruka smokes as she waits for Michiru, Taiki and Yaten.
Sagi walked with anxiety as she held her huge leather jacket. It smelled completely of cigars. She wrinkled her nose and sneezed a few times, her nose turning a blush red. But then after a while, the smell kind of calmed down. She walked and walked and walked. She breathed as she felt the wind blowing around her hair, along with a few drizzle of raindrops. She stuck out her hand and looked up at the sky.
Somehow she lost sight of her new friends, and slowed her walk, seeing the black haired senior chatting with someone, and started noticing her…
Her.
She should move, but she kept frozen. She never knew why she was always put in a compromising stationary paralysis when it came to her…
She saw Kou embracing an older woman and whispering to her.
She remained frozen as she watched the two, not realizing she felt a bit of led in her stomach as she saw the black haired senior whispering into the woman's ear, who embraced her with flirtation.
The black haired beauty caressed the woman's skin. She felt a presence and looked at the view ahead of her from a distance, causing time to stop as she noticed her…
Her.
She stood there, unmoving, and she didn't know what to think of that, or what to make of it, or what to make of her, really… All she knew was that the blonde wore an extra large chained up leather jacket, more like basking her entire top body to her knees, something she has never seen her in.
Wait, why was she wearing that chained up leather jacket? Not to mention, it looked like a man's jacket, and it was HUGE! It was so out of character, that was for sure. She's a mystery.
What caught her attention most was those crystal blue eyes, and noticed right there and then that the sophomore was looking right back at her.
"So mysterious..." Seiya whispered to herself in disbelief, keeping her eyes on Sagi's, always catching her off guard. That sophomore always caught her off guard.
The woman followed her gaze and looked at the young teen, frowning a bit as she looked back at the senior and raised her eyebrows in disbelief, whispering to catch her attention, but failed to be heard.
...
This situation was mysterious, especially when it came to her.
That senior always caught her off guard, Sagi thought in her soul. Those midnight sapphire blue hues caused Sagi to shudder briefly before noises broke her out of her zone, not noticing the mustached tall skinny man charging at her from afar with anger, being chased on his tail by two of her rowdy friends. She looked towards the man to her side and realized that her new friends were shouting for her to run, immediately noticing the angry vicious demon in front of them coming at her in anger, which scared the shit out of her. Slowly, her body started to propel her away from the chaos.
...
Who is that man?
Seiya frowned in confusion, staring at the man, and then noticed the blonde beauty looking at the tall mustached angry man, moving away, quickly to her other side, then taking off like a rocket.
Was she running from him?!
"I'm going to kill you!" The mustache skinny man screamed bloody murder as he hustled out of breath, but pursued the young blonde teen.
"What the fuck?" Seiya cursed as she automatically released the woman.
"What the shit?!" Haruka responded as she saw the commotion, seeing the angry man running like a demon, screaming and cursing at the sophomore, who ran like lightning.
The two drunk girls shouted at him as they cursed at him, throwing bottles from behind as they shouted at him to leave her alone, that they were going to beat him up and call the cops. They managed to hit the back of him as he turned and snarled at them, picking up their bottles and throwing it back at them, making them scream and back off a bit before he pursued to hunt the sophomore. Then the drunk girls pursued him again, repeating their patterns of threats and throwing bottles.
The whole group went far off, causing spectators to watch and then gossip in wonder.
"Okay… I am confused..." Taiki spoke with concern, frowning as she walked outside with Michiru and Yaten, who were wide eyed.
"She is full of surprises." Her light haired girlfriend chewed her gum.
"Did… we miss something?" Michiru asked as she looked at Haruka, who looked at her and shook her head.
"I have no fucking idea." Seiya breathed as she pursed her lips, angry at the man, and those drunk women.
"Nani? Hello? Hello?!" The woman sighed, being ignored by her. The black haired senior turned her head, but her eyes kept on the sophomore.
"Why are you looking at her instead of me?" The older woman chastised with a pout. Seiya looked at her and her eyebrows rose.
"Gomen Nasai…?" The black haired senior whispered in confusion. The woman stared at her and laughed hard.
"I've been calling out to you for a few minutes now, and you made no response, because you were paying attention to that young blonde over there." Her thumb pointed towards Sagi, who was on the run before she disappeared around the block with her… odd… group.
Whatever they were to her, they were not sure what to define what they saw just now.
Haruka looked at her best friend, who stared at that sophomore, smirked at her and rolled her eyes as she dropped her weed and stepped on it.
"Okay, I know that look. Let's go." The sandy blonde stated as she winked at her best friend, making her blush in confusion.
Yaten and Michiru were laughing hard. Taiki looked at Seiya, who looked at the woman and then at Sagi, before she sighed.
"You're kidding…" The dark brown haired senior whispered.
"I knew it all along!" The light haired senior chanted and clapped her hands.
"Oh Seiya, baby…" Michiru whispered and giggled.
"Gomen Nasai." Seiya said in embarrassment in confusion to the woman, who rolled her eyes.
"Nani, sokay, go after the girl." The older woman chewed her gum.
"I wasn't- she's just- I wasn't-!"
"Daijabou. Go on." The woman waved her away as the black haired senior sighed in defeat and took off, then followed by the others.
...
Feet hit the pavement, then marble floors… Out of breath.
Sagi ran for her fucking life. She was sweating, causing her heart to pound of out her chest. She grew dizzy, but it was life or death at this moment, to her at least.
The sleeveless, hairy skinny mustached man screamed and cursed, pursuing on her tail.
"Get the fuck back here! Don't you fucking dare run from me!" He snarled in anger.
"Fuck you asshole, you leave her alone!" Tsukushi threw the bottle at him as he picked up the bottle and threw it back at her and Shigeru.
"Stay the fuck out of it!" He screamed and pursued the sophomore. The drunk girls grew angry and continued to pursue his tail.
It would have been funny, seeing one run after the other and two running after one.
But it was a killer.
Market farmers started to shout as their stuff was knocked over. They tossed cabbages, edamames, and green onions at their heads as the four individuals ran throughout the market, threatening to call the cops for vandalizing their stuff.
"PUNKS!"
"HELLIONS!"
"YOU JUST RUINED MY MEANS OF LIVING!"
"WE ARE SICKING THE GUARDS ON YOU!"
"BAKAS!"
"I SWEAR YOU WILL PAY FOR THAT!"
They all dodged the farmers' foods thrown to them. Her running from a man was crazy. Shigeru and Tsukushi running behind her as she runs through the marketplace, causing chaos within.
The odd group managed to move outside as the girls caught up to them moved closer from above.
"Sagi…?!" Seiya shouted in relief above the second floor as Sagi looked at her in surprise.
Then she noticed a shadow in front of her. The man caught up to her, causing her to move away and back up against the wall as he slammed his fists on the side of her, causing her to scream and the black haired senior to shout in anger at him.
"HEY!" Seiya screamed in anger.
"Give me my fucking jacket back!" The man snarled at the sophomore.
The seniors went wide eyed and frowned as the sophomore went wide eyed and frowned at him.
"Oh…" Sagi whispered in confusion.
She looked down and realized it was his jacket. She looked at him, breathing fumes as he glared at her and immediately unzipped the gigantic leather off her body and handed it towards him. He immediately snatched it from her hands and placed it on his person. He moved into his pocket to check his wallet, which carried his money and credit card. He sighed in relief as he put it away.
They were at a stand down as he went quiet and calm down. Shaking his head at Sagi, he turned around and walked off. The drunk girls shouted at him as they neared her.
"Yeah bitch, keep walking!"
"We showed you what we're made of!"
The man looked behind him and looked at the drunk girls.
"Punks." He stated to them. He looked at Sagi. He breathed and waved her off as he walked on.
"Sagi, you are okay, yeah?! That was great." Tsukushi shouted.
"Sugoi ne! We're superheroes baby, yeah-ah-huh..." Shigeru moved her hips side to side, throwing a symbol peace sign up to her forehead.
"Nani… that was his jacket?" Sagi whispered in disbelief as the drunk girls went still and shrugged.
"I-ah-really don't know." Shigeru swayed and hugged Sagi.
"Hai, hey baby, thank you for being okay." She flirtatiously whispered to her, causing Sagi to blush.
"Yeay!" Tsukushi chanted.
"What the fuck?" A voice spoke loud, breaking their congregation.
The girls looked at the seniors. Seiya glared at the two, walking to them as they frowned and then gasped.
"Oh! OH! You guys are from the club! We remember you!"
"Hai. We remember you very well. Did you guys give her that jacket?"
"Huh… oh hai, he took it away though, said it was his-dunno..." Shigeru pouted in frustration.
"Why the fuck did you give her a hot item for?!" The black haired senior snarled.
"Aye, we didn't know, okay?! It was on the chair. She was cold." Tsukushi shrugged her shoulders and placed her hands on her hips. Shigeru snapped her fingers.
"Hai, we did her a solid. So-hiccup-we gave her warmth."
"Speaking of which, what were you doing out of school?" Taiki asked as she looked straight at Sagi's eyes. The sophomore looked at them and pursed her lips, saying nothing.
"And I thought I told you girls not to go near her." Haruka stated as she cracked her fists.
"Oy! Don't get testy! She was thirsty and cold. We gave her a drink and that jacket, which came out of nowhere! Wait, did you drink anything?" Shigeru swayed as she looked back at the sophomore, who was subtly moving away from the group as Seiya watched her.
Yaten smirked as Michiru giggled and shook her head. Haruka was wide eyed at them as she frowned as Taiki looked at them with patronizing demeanor.
"Do you not remember if you gave her something or not?" The aqua haired senior asked the drunk women.
"Holy shit you guys are drunk." Yaten sighed.
"Sagi." Seiya sternly spoke as the sophomore looked at her briefly and then walked off. The seniors started to walk after her.
"Sagi? Ooo-that's a cute name, baby!" Shigeru leered and smiled as she wiggled her eyebrows at the far away blonde, then gasped as the black haired senior looked back at her in disbelief before she glared.
"Stay away from her, I mean it!" Then she took off after her target, who walked faster.
"HEY! I might wanna date her, okay! Who are you to tell-hiccup-me who I can and can't talk to!" The short haired lady shouted to her in anger, causing black haired beauty to glare back at her in a snarl.
"YOU WILL NEVER-SHIT-SAGI!" Seiya shouted and frowned, noticing her target running off and charged after her.
"You may not want to say that again." Yaten chanted as she laughed.
"HAI! She is a fine looking candy specimen!" Tsukushi chanted in anger.
"Oh my Goddess, do you have no decorum?!" Taiki stated as she stared at them and took off.
"Hai, seriously, you both need help." Michiru replied in a melodic voice.
"Just remember what we said." Haruka warned back at them and took off after her best friend, shaking her head.
...
The five seniors ran fast as their long ponytails blew in the wind.
"She better be worth it Seiya! Not to mention how she always tends to pussy block you-" Yaten chanted and cracked up hard.
"Shut up, Baka!" Seiya shouted back to her and blushed red. Haruka looked at her and bursted out laughing.
"I am with Yaten, my darling. Who knows who or what she keeps attracting? It's funny how it always happens everytime we try to set you up with someone." Michiru chanted as she giggled.
"We keep getting caught in this avant garde web of hers." Taiki stated as she ran with them, seeing the sophomore way ahead, running away fast.
"YURENKASYKUYA!" Haruka shouted in disbelief at her action and speed.
"SAGI! STOP RUNNING!" Seiya snarled as she picked up the pace with Haruka, their long legs picked up in long strides.
"Damn, she is fucking fast!"
"Seriously, I only see spurts of her athleticism in moments of chaos."
"Hai."
"Why she doesn't show this determination and drive in class, is what I want to know?!"
"I know, ne?!"
"Look at her go!"
"I'm going to pummel her if I catch her!" Seiya snarled.
"Why is she out of school? I don't see Elsie or the others anywhere." Taiki frowned.
"And how in the fuck did she get involved with those women is what I want to know." Haruka whispered.
"That… is a good question." Michiru frowned.
"Oh Goddess, Seiya, she is going to get in deep shit with Lady San." Yaten stated.
"You have no idea."
"What the hell is she looking for?!" Michiru shouted.
"... I think she is hunting for that cat." Taiki growled in anger.
"She- you better not be bringing him back!" Seiya screamed as she turned red in the face.
"I think she is planning to bring him back!" Yaten shouted.
"Fuck, hella-nah, I will toss him back outside!" Haruka snarled.
"FUCK-SAGI-COME BACK HERE! STOP RUNNING RIGHT NOW!"
"HAI, YOU ARE GOING TO GET IN TROUBLE!"
"BIG TROUBLE!"
"HEY!"
"SOME BAD PEOPLE WILL GET YOU GOOD! COME BACK HERE!"
"Damn, how the fuck is she getting fucking faster?!"
"Hai, even I am struggling a bit to keep up."
"Leave it to Seiya and Haruka, they will get her."
"Oh believe me, we will get her."
"Fuck it, I am going to derail her."
...
Meanwhile, Sagi ran with her shorter legs at the speed of lightning. She was definitely going to find Rhett Butler and bring him back. Maybe not to the school, but take him to someplace safe. She heard shouts from a far, but did not care to look back. Most likely those girls wanted to berate her and have her go back. She did not think she would be reported to Lady San, despite their differences, in that sense, they were… okay.
But no way in hell was she to forget him. He was her responsibility, and she ensures to see his safety through. And no way was she to allow them to derail her from him, which most likely they wanted to do right now, knowing how much they hated him...
"Goddess, Rhett Butler, where are you? Please let me know you are safe…" She whispered, out of breath. "Fuck-"
A curse escaped her lips as she heard footsteps pound harder behind her as she continued to pound faster, almost out of breath as her biggest obstacles neared closer.
"SAGI!" A voice came closer.
"Iie!" She warned in anger.
"I DON'T THINK SO!"
"Iie- leave me! IIE-IIE!" She shrieked and gasped as she was grasped and held in strong arms. Her body was held up as her feet was off the ground.
Seiya held the struggling, rambunctious sophomore strong, frowning as her best friends came up. She behaved just like that wild cat did whenever he was in her arms.
"OH! Good. You got her." Haruka sighed with a smile as the others breathed and calmed down.
"IIE! PUT ME DOWN!" Sagi screamed and squirmed viciously.
"IIE, ODANGO! YOU ARE GOING TO BE GOOD AND STAY PUT! I'VE HAD IT WITH YOU GETTING INTO TROUBLE AND SHIT!" Seiya shouted.
"Hai. We need to get you back to school, Princessu! SAFELY!" Michiru chastised her.
"Angel needs to be at the dorms, studying and doing her homework. Not out on the streets, hanging with hoodlums." Yaten tisked with her finger up.
"Don't explain to her Majesty and let's just take her and go." Taiki advised as she rubbed her head. The girls watched as their best friend struggled holding the sophomore, who kicked her legs out like alternate swings. The sandy blonde sighed as she came closer, but distant from those kicking appendages.
"Koneko-Koneko, you know better than to be doing these things, common now." Haruka chanted as Sagi squirmed harder in Seiya's arms, turning dark red.
"Stop calling me those STUPID NAMES!" She shouted.
"I don't think so, ANGEL!" Yaten chanted and teased her with a dance. Michiru giggled and shook her head.
"What in the world were you doing off school grounds, Koneko?" Haruka narrowed her eyes at the sophomore, who glared at her and pursed her lips, causing the senior to arch her eyebrows and place her hands on her hips.
"Koneko-Koneko-what were you doing out of school?"
"I don't have to tell you nothing." She sneered.
"Oh, really?" The senior gawked in disbelief as the seniors gasped and laughed in disbelief, except the one holding her and the dark brown haired senior.
"Yes, really." She snarled.
"Hey! Odango! You respect your Senpais, you here?!" Seiya shouted as the sophomore snarled some more and kicked and squirmed, causing the black haired senior to growl and hold her tighter.
"SHUT UP!"
"DON'T TELL ME TO SHUT UP, ODANGO!" Seiya snarled as she held her closer to her body, unknowingly flushing as she held her.
"LET ME DOWN RIGHT NOW!" Sagi attempted to stomp her foot, but her feet was off the ground, so she swung her legs, flushing hard.
"How about- NO?!" Taiki spoke sternly to her as she had enough and frowned. This underclassman really had no respect for them.
"Besides, you will NOT be bringing that- THING back into the school. You know how Lady San is!" Michiru chastised, which made Sagi more furious.
"HE IS NOT A THING! YOU PUT ME DOWN!"
"You were intending on bringing him back. We knew it. Nah-Hell-NO." Haruka said nonchalantly, frowning as she shook her head and crossed her arms.
"You lost. Surrender. Let's go now guys." Yaten yawned.
"Hai." Taiki breathed in.
"IIE!"
"ODANGO! ENOUGH!"
"PUT ME DOWN… TERIYAKI!" Her body was dropped as she gasped and moved swiftly, turning around to face the senior, who glared at her in disbelief. Haruka smirked in disbelief and burst out laughing with the others.
"Holy Sh-!"
"What did you just call me now?"
"Teriyaki." Sagi whispered, getting more daring as her eyes had mischief in them.
"How did you know-you know what-you better not say that word again."
"Or what, Teriyaki. What will you do?"
"Oh, you don't want to know." Seiya snarled as she walked up to her.
"Koneko, you better be careful."
"Sure, BLONDIE."
Taiki covered her face as Haruka glared at her. Michiru cracked up harder with Yaten, who was about to pee.
"That was not funny." She whispered.
"Oh, but you had no problem laughing at Seiya." Taiki whispered as she looked up at the sky, wondering in a sigh. Haruka sighed as she shook looked back at the sophomore.
"Fine. You get one. You are still coming with us or we are gonna carry you back."
"You wouldn't dare." Sagi hissed.
"You want to try us?" Michiru melodically chanted.
"I'd love to see you guys try me." Sagi hissed more in a snarl as she looked at the black haired senior, who watched her in anger.
"You have absolutely no respect for us…" Yaten spoke, bothered by her as she frowned.
Seiya breathed, smiling in warning and shook her head as Sagi slowly started to walk, trying to be clandestine without their notice.
"Ooh- don't even think about it, you are in so much shit now."
"Nani,Teriyaki-?"
"Odango, I swear to you-stop-stop walking-!" The black haired beauty moved to her as the blonde beauty moved further away.
"Teriyaki-Teriyaki-Teriyaki-Teriyaki-Teriyaki-Teriyaki-"
"Odango, I swear to Goddess-respect me now- ODANGO!"
The sophomore took off in speed as Seiya chased after her.
"Just grab her and let's go, stop talking to her!" Taiki snarled.
"She thinks she runs the world." Yaten chanted.
"Seiya is on her tail, she won't get far." Michiru sighed.
"Koneko?! I wouldn't even try! We will just catch you! You might as well surrender!"
"ODANGO!"
...
Found.
Sagi gasped as she paused and noticed the cat at the corner of her eyes. The senior managed to grab her as she shook her head.
"No, he is right there-!" She whined in fear as she struggled away as she attempted to walk to the cat.
"Tough!" Seiya snarled.
"No! He is right there!" Sagi snarled in anger.
"He cannot go back to school with us." Haruka stated as she watched Rhett Butler, who was licking his body.
He looked like a mess. Dirty again. And there were scratches on his body. He was still menacing.
"I have to save him!" She whispered as she snatched her arm away as Seiya took her shoulders. Even though she was flushed with anger, she still was gentle in her stern hold as she whispered in a calm voice to her.
"Odango, look at me. Look at me, I know you care about him. But Lady San does not want him at the school and told you No. You need to respect those rules. Not to mention, he has hurt many others and he does not like to be stuck inside. No matter how much you want to keep him next to you, he is a wild cat. He is meant to be outside. You cannot trap him. Not to mention you will get hurt should we leave you out on the streets. You are our responsibility and you need to come with us now."
"I am not trapping him-."
"You do Princessu, I'm sorry but you do." Michiru said.
"No, I'm not."
"He hated being in your bookbag and in the room, Koneko. Listen to reason." Haruka frowned.
"Rhett Butler is not safe out on the streets, he is right there, I just need to go to him carefully."
"But where will you take him? He cannot go back to school with us." Taiki said as she frowned at her.
"I will take him to someplace safe-" She escaped them as they watched her.
"Where?!"
"Just somewhere-"
"Where will you take him?"
"Just somewhere safe! He can't be on the streets!"
"He escaped before, or tried to. Not to mention I caught him scratching you a few times. Those marks on your arm, are by him."
"I don't care."
"He won't go to you."
"Please. I won't take him back to school. But I can't leave him on the streets. They will hurt him."
"Sagi-"
"He'll get killed! I just feel it! If I leave him, he will get killed..."
Seiya breathed as she looked at her. Sagi looked at her, practically begging to be released. Slowly she released her. The sophomore placed her hands up in peace with gratitude.
"Fine. But if he doesn't come to you. Let him go, and you come with us, no questions."
"He will come to me."
Sagi breathed with confidence in her eyes as the girls looked at her with sorrow.
"He will come to me." She whispered with warmth.
She turned with confidence as she looked both ways and slowly swiftly and safely crossed the street.
The girls swiftly and safely followed as they noticed that was the first moment she was warm to them. She never spoke warmly to them before.
It was a start…
She moved through the crowd to RB. He looked at her in silence.
"Rhett Butler." She was about to pick him up as he hissed at her, causing her to be startled in disbelief.
Her face turned red in embarrassment as she knelt down, feeling their presence behind her as she extended her hand out, hoping to lure him in again into her arms.
"Rhett Butler, it's me. It's me. I'm here, baby."
She whispered to him for a few minutes as he continues to glare at her. The crowd gets bigger on the sidewalk as the cars increase.
"Please."
Rhett Butler growled as he started to move away.
"Please." She whispered, softly begging as tears rolled down her cheeks, causing him to pause. For a moment he stay silent and stared at her.
This was messed up. The seniors watched the wild feral cat, seeing as it wanted to be free, and kind of felt bad for the rejection that they were witnessing.
Sagi breathed as she started to move to him as he hissed at her again, causing her to freeze. Then he grew quiet. For a long time, they were at a stand down.
The seniors did not know what to think as they watched the two.
The sophomore watched him, feeling a bit betrayed as she felt sick in her gut.
Rhett Butler stared back at her as his eyes softened. He meowed softly to her, causing her to smile. For a moment, the seniors felt he surrendered to his previous owner.
Then he took off through the heavy crowds, far away from her.
Sagi froze, unable to hear the seniors, or feel Seiya's touch on her as she softly got up, unable to hear her talking as she continued keeping her eyes on the cat, who moved further and further away, breaking her heart.
...
The fat cat ran fast in between people, who grew startled as many crowded the sidewalks.
Just as she started to be propelled by Seiya, they saw a man walked out of the store with a broom in one hand, cursing at the cat who tried to swipe at the birds in the cage he was carrying in his other hand, swishing at him with a broom as he told it to scram, scaring him off as the man got nastier.
"Scam out of here!" He swung the broom, hitting the cat hard. Rhett Butler yelped and ran fast, being scared off by the crowded people.
The senior gasped as the sophomore pulled her arm hard and ran to him through the crowd, calling out to her as she grew deaf, ears ringing as she started shoving through adults without pause, who chastised her and rudely told her to get out of the way.
They followed in disbelief, looking at the nasty man with the broom and the cage, and because of the amount of people walking, they had a hard time keeping up with her, especially since the cat was hit by him and scared off.
They had a sick feeling in their stomachs.
The young teen ran off, hyperventilating in her chest as she breathed and heaved, calling out to Rhett Butler. The man moved as she intersected him, looked at her and glared.
The sophomore hissed in anger and kicked the man hard in the leg as he cursed with the broom, swinging it at her as he yelled at her.
"STUPID BRAT!
"FUCK YOU!" She shouted and ran off.
"SCRAM OUT OF HERE YOU PUNK!"
He breathed and waved them her off with the broom as he moved to his car. Seiya and the others ran past him in shock at their interaction, barely seeing the cat going towards ongoing traffic and the sophomore following hot on his trail.
"Shit…" Seiya whispered in fear.
"IIE! STOP! PLEASE! RHETT BUTLER!" Sagi yelled in fear as she barely squeezed through tall and wider people, who tried to shove her back. She was persistent as she continued on with force.
A car turned around the corner as the cat moved passed the woman and onto the street. The car kept going as the people gasped.
"RHETT BUTLER!" Sagi screamed as the Rhett Butler stopped in silence and looked at her in fear, causing those around her to move away from her a bit. With strength she shoved past them, managing to squeeze near the wall and move swiftly, hoping to try to reach him-
The tires ran down the road in speed as the sophomore continued to scream in denial, startling the people around her. The car continued on, leaving a trail of horror behind.
The furball remained still, causing her feet to falter.
Seiya slowed down, seeing the horror of the former cat as she saw the young teen fall to her knees, screaming and crying her heart out from a far.
"Holy fuck." Haruka whispered as Michiru covered her mouth. Yaten covered her eyes as Taiki held her.
"What the fuck." Yaten whispered in sorrow.
The black haired senior breathed and swiftly moved to the young teen, who felt like lead as she attempted to pull her up.
Sagi was sobbing hard as she was held and turned to the senior's chest for a long time.
People carried on as the cat was moved by animal control. The girls were walking off.
Seiya stared at the remains as she held her tight, unable to comprehend how everything could happen so quickly.
It was fucked up.
A long time passed as it was the late afternoon.
"Common, let's head back to school."
Sagi shook as she frowned and breathed in anger, slowly pulling away.
"Sagi San, do not start."
"I'm not going back." She hissed in anger as she cried.
"Yes you are." Haruka hissed as she had enough.
"Leave me alone!" Sagi pulled away as she walked off.
"Where are you going to go?! Huh?!" Taiki hissed.
"Anywhere but there!" Sagi sobbed in anger as she wiped her eyes.
"Listen, it was his time-" Michiru spoke, attempting to speak through her anger.
"It was not his time-!" Sagi hissed.
"Sagi-do not start. We are bigger than you, and we will force you to go back if we have to-" Seiya hissed.
"Leave me the fuck alone!" She snarled and snatched her hand away.
"Listen, it sucks that he's killed, but it happened, life happens!" Yaten said in pity.
"Shut up, you never cared for him! I was the only one who cared for him! None of you cared for him!" Sagi screamed.
"ENOUGH!" Yaten screamed as she grabbed her arm. Sagi elbowed her hard in the chest, causing her to gasp in shock and pain.
"OUCH! THAT HURT!"
"FUCK OFF!" Sagi screamed in anger.
"STOP BEING MEAN!" Michiru shouted as Sagi elbowed her as well when she attempted to take her, causing her pain as Taiki attempted to block her, but she kicked her hard.
"OUCH STOP IT!"
"NO! NONE OF YOU CARED! NONE OF YOU CARED FOR HIM! I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU ALL! I HATE YOU SO MUCH!" Sagi screamed in anger as tears ran down her face.
"Sagi-please-" Seiya whispered in disbelief as tears ran into her eyes. Haruka was quiet as she stared.
"I HATE YOU! LEAVE ME ALONE! I HATE YOU ALL! I WISH YOU ALL DEAD! LEAVE ME ALONE! JUST LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE!" Sagi screamed with anger and cried as she ran off onto the streets as another oncoming car was speeding and managed to screech to a stop.
"NO-SAGI!" Seiya screamed in fear.
The girls' heart stopped momentarily, relieved that the car stopped in time, inches from the running sophomore, and worried as the young teen kept running off, disappearing into the dark forest.
"What the hell, you gonna get killed!" The driver screamed as he attempted to drive again, stopping abruptly and beeped the horn hard as the girls crossed the street to move after her.
"STUPID KIDS!"
...
Sea of Trees
Sagi breathed as she ran fast and heaved. She sobbed as she ran deeper and deeper into the woods.
Death.
Something so familiar and something new.
She did not mean to wish them dead, but she could not see their faces now. None of them. She hated Lady San. She hated Beryl. She hated the girls at school, on the streets. She hated her family. She hated her sister. She hated Sarah. She wanted to die.
She loved Rhett Butler.
Sagi breathed as she sobbed and slipped down the dirt. She shut her eyes as she pulled her legs in and cried her heart out.
They walked slowly, unable to find her as they did not want to startle her if they saw her.
"Did she mean what she said?" Michiru whispered in pain.
"Iie. She's in pain." Seiya said as she wiped her tears.
"Are you sure? She sounded so angry with us." Yaten whispered with guilt in her eyes.
"We were kind of harsh. She probably thought we were bringing her to Lady San, now that I think about it. She will be fine. Eventually…" Haruka whispered.
"Okay." Taiki whispered, unsure of her stance with them.
...
It was not their fault.
The sophomore breathed on her own as she sighed. She slowly got up. For sure, if she would not go back to school, she would be in trouble, and probably get them in trouble as well. She breathed and noticed a group of twenty women, dressed in black, moving to her as she frowned. Sagi breathed, recognition set in as fear crept inside her chest.
There was no way this was happening now.
The five seniors reached their area and managed to find the sophomore. Only this time, she wasn't alone…
Their hearts froze at the image they were witnessing. It was never a non-stop adventure with this sophomore.
"Oh shit." Taiki whispered in disbelief as she frowned.
"You've got to be kidding me." Michiru whispered in fear and anger.
"Fuck." Haruka whispered in anger.
"This can't be happening." Yaten breathed in disbelief as she frowned.
Seiya's eyes steeled as her fists tightened, breathing through her nose, saying nothing as she prepared for a new war.
In front of her, were the taller older Kinos, with their friends as they stood around, the same women who attacked them with Makoto, though this time the former junior from their school was absent from the group. They looked uniformed, wearing black masks over their noses and mouths, grey long sleeves, gloves, and tight long pants and boots. The leader of the gang, kept her eyes on the sophomore and walked towards her, who backed up against the trunk of the massive tree as the seniors watched them. A black object was in her right hand.
This was fucked up. And they were in the middle of nowhere within the creepy ass forest, away from civilization.
"Well, if it isn't the small rat who ratted us out." The leader woman stated to the group as she sighed.
She lifted her right hand and pointed a bee bee gun right at young blonde teen's face.
